Total nerd moment, but I have Minecraft on my phone, and I also have the Egyptian Mythology mod. And with most mods they have character skins. So obviously, I am currently using the Ra character.

I do want to build something like a temple. But of course that means I need to survive long enough to do so.

Witchcraft Exercises - Witchy Inspo Journal

Not sure what to do with all those notebooks you’ve collected for future use in your craft? (Don’t lie, we all have a stack somewhere.) Turn them into inspo journals!

Create and maintain a journal where each page is a quote or song lyric or picture that inspires you in your craft or defines some element of your practice. Use scrapbooking materials, washi tape, stickers, stamps, and any art supplies you wish. If you’re skilled at drawing or painting, you can do that too.

The journal can be a simple notebook or a three-ring binder or a nice scrapbook from the craft store, whatever works for you. Try to do a page a week if you can, and collect ideas for future pages when you can’t. Update as often as you feel inspired to do so and enjoy some witchy art therapy.

This can also be turned into a devotional activity, with your inspo journal dedicated to your chosen deity(ies) or pantheon. A devotional inspo journal can also make a great private altar if you don’t have the space for one in your home or if you’re a stealth witch who can’t practice or venerate openly.

Here are some examples from my own inspo journal:

The 5 Elements

The 5 Elements

Known as the five classical elements, they represent different aspects of nature and the universe. Each element has its own unique energy and symbolism, and understanding these can help you harness their power in your own spiritual practice. The Five Elements are Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. Each of these elements is associated with a specific direction, season, and energy. The elements are also connected to the four cardinal points of the compass. You may find that certain elements resonate with you more than others.

Earth:

The Earth element is associated with stability, grounding, and abundance. In spell work, you can use the Earth element to manifest material wealth, stability, physical body, and the natural world. The Earth element is often represented by rocks, crystals, and gemstones, as well as plants and animals. It is said to be the element that helps us connect with the physical world and our primal instincts. To work with the Earth element, you might choose to spend time in nature, meditate with crystals, or create an altar with natural materials. Some correspondences for the Earth element in spell work include:

Crystals: Green adventurine, moss agate, and jade.

Herbs: Dandelion, patchouli, and rosemary.

Colours: Brown and green

Astrology: Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn

Tarot: Pentacles

Air:

The Air element is associated with communication, transformation, intellectualism and creativity. It is associated with the mind, thought processes, and the realm of ideas.  The Air element is often represented by birds, feathers, and incense smoke. It is said to be the element that helps us connect with our higher selves and the spiritual realm. To work with the Air element, you might practice visualization, journaling, or perform a ritual with incense or feathers. Some correspondences for the Air element in spell work include:

Herbs: Lavender, peppermint, and sage

Astrology:  Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius

Fire:

The Fire element is associated with passion, action, and transformation. It is associated with energy, vitality, and courage. In spell work, you can use the Fire element to manifest passion, creativity, and transformation. The Fire element is often represented by candles, bonfires, and lightning. It is said to be the element that helps us connect with our inner power and the power of the universe. It is said to be the element that helps us connect with the divine source of all creation. I'm also struggling to finish this book. I'm not impressed.

Jasper Reviews "Psychic Witch" By Mat Auryn - A Fucking Dredge To Get Through

This is a book that's for a very specific audience.

This is a book for Wiccans or Wiccan-adjacent witches who can visualize, who practice "meditation" of some form, who believe in the very specific energy working system that the author describes, and who believe in the same sorts of magic/animism as the author does, i.e.:

four elements plus "quintessence" aka spirit,

a weird mangling of the concept of an inner child and shadow self brought on by modern people thinking that Carl Jung's shadow work was solely about "negativity" and "bad vibes",

everyone having a higher self,

everyone having a divine purpose,

three levels of souls,

auras,

cleansing and protecting before any and all actions even in your own space,

and so on.

I am none of those people. Mat Auryn's approach does not work for me, and I hated having to slog through 7 pages of introduction (aka Mat Auryn's backstory) only to get to the actual content and be sorely disappointed in this book that claims it can "be adjusted" to other people's spiritual/religious/magical viewpoints only to discover that it really can't. A lot of the things claimed to be universal (e.g. definitions of intuition versus psychic ability) are, in fact, not universal. I would argue this author up one side and down the other about this. Not in that the author is inherently wrong in their own definitions, but in that it's somehow universal.

I am also, as usual, docking a point for spelling magic with a K. I'm glad I own this copy, because I could go through with a pen and scribble out the unnecessary K.

This is not a useful book to someone who has already developed their own understanding of energy and energy work. But at the same time, it's so boring and stale (even with exercises all over the place) that I wouldn't want to give it to a beginner either.

Official Jasper Review: 3/10, not what I needed, and I don't want it.

Maybe other people get something from this book, but I just couldn't.

I went on a walk today, I have been trying to go on daily walks, but I might have a skip day every now and then, but today I decided to take pictures of Lemon Park. So my area is thick with history of being you know...racist. A town called Kingman which is about 45 minutes away was KKK headquarters for this area. There are certain towns including Pratt definitely have creepy vibes, and we certainly have ghosts. Lemon Park is no exemption to creepy vibes. Stories go that the lynchings happened at the park as well cultist rituals. Everyone that talks about the park, it certainly begins to feel unwelcoming and after the sun goes down. It was also said to be common place for people to commit suicide, and I lived in town for 10 years now, there has been at least one of two that I know of. I think I'll find another place to walk.

I Went On A Walk Today, I Have Been Trying To Go On Daily Walks, But I Might Have A Skip Day Every Now

This the ominous corner of the park.
This is also an ominous section of the park.

I'm going to make dinner, clean up, and work on my Grimoire some more, and maybe even make another post.

I did settle for my 3 ring binder for now, I like having the ability to change around what goes where. I am also visual and touch person, having something in my hands helps me keep focused. Plus, with my current situation, I have no laptop and no home Internet, just my phone.

As for Calling Corners, I actually did learn a few things, thank you y'all for helping. I did learn some new names I wasn't familiar with so I was able to do more research.

Witchy Ways To Navigate This Holiday Season

(Regardless of what you celebrate, it’s highly likely that you’ll be meeting with or engaging in some sort of holiday sometime during the year, so you might find this helpful. Reconnecting with family and friends can be a joy, but can also be draining for people who are easily overwhelmed by other people’s energies). THESE IDEAS ARE CUSTOMIZABLE BUT ARE INFLUENCED BY MY PERSONAL BELIEFS.

Witchy Ways To Navigate This Holiday Season

🌲Enchant your perfume or cologne with a specific intention. (Example: Ward off uncomfortable conversation, ward off nerves, energize your social battery).

🌲When choosing what to wear, include a necklace, jewelry item, or accessories (such as a tie) that you consider protective of your energy. For me, I wear a pentacle bracelet, but for you it might be something different. You can even ask spirits or deities you work with to charge it overnight on the night before with protection.

🌲I like to draw the rune Wunjo or the rune Gebo on every present I gift with invisible ink or just trace it with my finger, so it brings joy to the person receiving it! You could draw a symbol that represents joy in a similar fashion!

🌲Knot magic is an easy way to incorporate love into the gift exchanging. Tie your presents you’re giving with decorative ribbons and charge each one with love or chant over it this short chant “With love I tie thee, may all be merry!”

🌲If you’re making a special drink (hot-chocolate, mulled wine, etc) be mindful of the energy you put into it while stirring it. You can invite or banish (you’ve probably heard that stirring clockwise is inviting energy and stirring counterclockwise is banishing). But you can also stir simple sigils of calm and peace into it!

🌲If you’re into using crystals, I recommend these crystals for navigating the holiday season:

-Strawberry quartz (for enjoyment and extra enthusiasm)

-Smoky Quartz (for gentle protection and comfort)

-Howlite (for calming during chaos and being present)

-Opal (both non precious and precious, for inspiring generosity and equal exchange of energy)
