is there like some secret tag that advanced practitioners use? as much as i enjoy seeing all the witchlings in the #witchblr tag, i would like to engage with other folks who have been at it for a while.

As long as you don't shoplift at my store while I'm on shift, you'll be alright.

To maybe help elaborate not all trees are nice, there is the Stinging Tree in Australia where everything you touch causes so pain and itch. The symptoms are said to cause pain for weeks to months. There are certainly other trees where every part or at least most parts are toxic and/or are deadly.

Some little things I've learned over a decade of witchcraft:

If you are feel called to work but are tired/drained, sit outside. Take in all the energies around you. Nature can help charge you

Every witch does a little bit of a bunch of types of magic but sticks mainly to one or two in general. You usually won't be eclectic forever. You'll find what magics work best with you.

Never be lazy or cut corners with spirits. Always be respectful and always tell them to leave when you're done

When you see a plant or ingredient with a long list of properties, there are different things at play. Season of collection, the part of the plant, the health of the plant, etc all play a role in impacting which properties it will carry.

Don't call on spirits unless you have confidence and control

Be careful with sea/water magic. Get into it gently and slowly until you have the energy figured out because it can get out of hand quickly.

Adding a little pinch of magic into your breakfast can make a major difference in your day.

Your personal emotions/feelings over something will impact a work

Planting some plants is good, not only to have a garden, but the dirt helps cleanse you too. Get all dirty and muddy. It's good for ya

Not all trees are nice

The more you listen to your intuition, the easier it will be to tell it apart from your anxieties and worries

Incense is very easy to make which is why it's usually cheap to buy. But you can find a million tutorials online on how to make your own personal incense which is great if you want a spell to take effect over a while but also want to infuse the fire energy in it.

The more you work with something the better feel you get for it. Cinnamon goes in almost everything i cook and most of my spells because me and cinnamon just get right along

Easy Self Cleansing Spell

So, I posted this spell a couple times before l, but I can’t find it. So here it is. I doesn’t require candles, a big fancy ritual, etc. It only requires you. This spell is perfect for when you feel drained and need a boost, or if you have been around toxic people all day.

Now, normally, I will focus my energy into my hands, but I understand some people don’t have energy to spare. And that’s okay. It’s about intent, lovelies.

Focus your mind as much as possible

Using your hands, begin at your head. Say “In the name of the Divine, I cleanse my mind.” As your saying this as throwing all the negativity of you.

Cross your arms at your chest, “In the name of the Divine, I cleanse my body.” Throw negativity to the ground.

Place hands behind your back, “In name of the Divine, I cleanse my soul. Throw negativity.

Repeat 2 more times.

Say, "I send all my negativity to Mother Earth, that she may turn it into positivity for the good of all the Earth. So mote it be.”

If you are still feeling sluggish, you can repeat it again. If you feel like it worked, you should feel relaxed and weight lifted off of you.

Also, keep in my mind, this Spell can be tailored to individuals’ needs and beliefs. This was taught to me by a local witch who owned a store. She was very…old school. Things had to be done a certain way, but I’m not like that. I hope this helps! Merry meet!

Do I look up to a spiritual leader/guru? Kinda, Mama J that owns my favorite witchy shop. The only thing with this question, is that I do find her more credible then some others I have been around, but I still question and do my own research on whatever topic we happen to discuss. Because, just because it works for her, may not for me.

Have I had a supernatural experience? Plenty, the college cafeteria that I worked at for 7 years, was pretty active. Pots would fly off shelves, not fall, fly. The clock would float off it's nail, like someone was trying to take it down to change the time, and then drop on the floor. Lights would turn off unexpectedly, not because of power issues or tripping the breaker. And of course, when I would be alone for my weekend breaks, I could hear some of our heavy ceramic plates rattle as if someone was grabbing a stack. And our dishwasher would start itself, even though you had to push something through to hit a switch to activate.

Woke up to this Duolingo nonsense this morning! I wasn't ready for that face yet.
