Giant Iron Tree Built In Russia’s Ministry Of Agriculture To Cast Shadow Over Archway
The Ministry of Agriculture’s building in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan in the Russian federation, is a magnificent work of eclectic architecture with a beautiful, massive wrought-iron tree that inspires pastoral agricultural images – and its construction was completed just a few years ago. The tree was designed to cast its shadow on the building’s lobby below.
So. I fell like a tipped over bookcase for this character design. Hard, and now I’m a mess. I love drawing blue skin and I love drawing hands.

The Hawk Conservancy Trust is a conservation charity that works in the fields of conservation, rehabilitation, education and research of birds of prey. I spent a day there photographing a few of the birds that they have. My aim was to photograph the character of the bird and to get some movement into the portraits. I also wanted to illustrate the amazing structure and detail in these beautiful birds.
