He was manipulated by Kisaki and thought that it was right thing to do because of that. He felt guilty but he couldn't tell that. He does feel feelings, he just can't tell what he's feeling.

In anime, his LAST word was Emma. And when Izana hallucinated Emma and Shinichiro by Mikey's side, it's not because they really stood by Mikey's side. It was Izana's HALLUCINATION, hence he thought Emma and Shinichiro wouldn't stand by his side. And he hated that thought because that meant Mikey still wasn't alone like him but Izana was.
