Yall this took forever to finish. So glad I actually decided to continue it instead of abandoning it in my drafts🎀🗿 I love this brush so much and have been using it for a while now, I might make more arts like this occasionally bc they take forever.

I think this is my first actual Berumin art, wherein it’s obvious💀 all of the other ones I’ve made of these two are so all over the place and parts of aus I made, but this one is just something I did for fun a yr ago and left the sketch alone(it was so close to being abandoned fr) until I got back to it two weeks ago and decided to pull through. At first I was just gonna do a simple lineart and got carried away and then had to go all out to make everything match and make sense. It rly was a process doing the limbs and having to change a lot of the posing.

Idk what it was but I added those nails to armin on one hand and had to do it for ALL of them, it just rly played into the demon aspect so well I couldn’t resist. This originally didn’t have all the smaller details and I rly just made a lot of it along the way.

I rly liked thinking of this dynamic where Bert is more gentle/pure? And Armin is more deceptive and controlling? Idrk how to describe how I imagined it in my mind when I first made this but that’s the gist of it. Armin at first had a curious expression than the sly one he has here in the old sketches, and there was even a very rough sketch version where he’s an angel instead but I didn’t find it that appealing as a concept and I remember that sketch being so frustrating to get the wings right and I think that’s why I dropped this drawing at first.

Anyways 🗣️🗣️I LOVE BERT and MIN🗣️🗣️🎀🐢🐚

I actually like how ambiguous I left the context of this because there rly is a lot of possibilities this could go story-wise. Like, does Armin appear to Bertolt physically and everyone can see him but he’s only befriending Bert for demonic(?) purposes or is Armin manifested by Bertolt subconsciously. Is Armin a representation of Bert’s corruption? Who knows? I honestly couldn’t tell you but that’s probably why I was happy to make this more detailed than my usual stuff.

Other than that I do like the idea that perhaps Armin was a fallen angel that was casted out and became a demon? Something like that. Maybe Bert became a man of the cloth as a result of shame and guilt over something he did and that mirrors Armin’s fall from grace in how they both have to mask who they used to be???? Maybe none of this is real and this is Bert’s divine punishment in purgatory? What if there was a universe in which Bert wronged Armin in someway and Bert’s psyche takes a hit because of it?

It’s possible this isn’t even Armin but who knows?

Yall maybe I’m cooking with this actually.🤭👀👩🏽‍🦯🗿

What do you perceive this as and what is your take from just this alone? I kinda wanna know how everyone else would interpret them in this👁️👁️😳🥺🙏🏽🎀

Should I do another version of this but with concepts around demonology or something? Idk.

Btw I plan on finishing another berumin drawing I started last yr ,but based on a rly good berumin fic I read, I just haven’t gotten back to it.

Eren - He use to enjoy playing baseball with his older brother, but these days he prefers soccer. But he might still pitch a few rounds every now and then. ⚾️

Historia - During the winter, she loves to figure skate. She learned to do neat tricks real fast. She brought Ymir along one time and she sucked at it. ⛸

Ymir - There’s not many sports she genuinely likes, so stretching exercises is the closest one. Historia encourages her to do so and that’s all that matters. 🙆‍♀️

Annie - She’s also good at gymnastics but her strengths lie in martial arts. She can compete within a judo contest and wipe the floor with anyone. 🥋

Reiner - Boxing is a major strength with him too. Other times he claims arm wrestling to be a sport, maybe just as an excuse to bond with his friends. 💪

Bertholdt - Use to compete in volleyball, until he kept getting smacked in the face on accident. Now he just settles in baseball and loves it. 🏐

After the Ithaca Saga, I believe that Odysseus thought he and Athena were officially done forever and would only occasionally see each other because she was mentoring Telemachus now. He really thinks there's no way they can reconnect anymore and attempt at a friendship this time, but he's fine with it, he can accept it.

That is until Telemachus goes up to him one day like:

"Hey father, can I ask you something?"

"Yes son, of course."

"You mentored under Athena before right? Do you happen to know a friend of hers?"

"Oh I... I wasn't aware Athena had friends before. She was very adamant about that "No Friends" rule back then... kind of stings."

"Oh really? She talks about him a lot."

"Does she now? *mumbling* must be so special about this fRieNd of Athena..."

"Yeah she told me about this one time he wanted to impress someone, so he climbed on all the way to the tree branch next to the balcony of their room and leaned against the trunk to look cool, but he kept talking to Athena in her owl appearance so he didn't notice the other person going to the balcony and he got so spooked when they called out to him, he turned too fast and lost balance, slipped, smacked his ass on the tree branch and broke his arm when he fell, so he had to wear a sling for 3 months and couldn't sit down for 2 weeks."

"....call Athena right now."

"Why-"

"ATHENA!!!"

The second Athena appeared, Odysseus threw himself at her, on one hand going "YOU CONSIDER ME YOUR FRIEND WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO!?!?!?!" and on the other going "WHY ARE YOU TELLING MY SON ALL MY EMBARRASSING STORIES!?!?! THAT WAS BETWEEN ME, PENELOPE AND YOU!!"

He was actually crying. Athena has absolutely no idea what is happening or what she should do. Telemachus just discovered a whole new side of his dad and might know where he gets it from now....

We saw The Final Attack in theaters last night and I’m so glad we waited to finish it.

I’m so glad we managed to watch almost the entirety of Attack on Titan without spoilers.

I’m so glad I got to experience such an amazing series start to finish. I cried so many times and there was so much that moved me in the series.

a quick psa to anyone recently getting into greek mythology and is a victim of tumblr and/or tiktok misconceptions:

-there is no shame in being introduced to mytholgy from something like percy jackson, epic the musical or anything like that, but keep in mind that actual myths are going to be VERY different from modern retellings

-the myth of medusa you probably know (her being a victim of poseidon and being cursed by athena) isn't 100% accurate to GREEK mythology (look up ovid)

-there is no version of persephone's abduction in which persephone willingly stays with hades, that's a tumblr invention (look up homeric hymn to demeter)

-as much as i would like it, no, cerberus' name does not mean "spot" (probably a misunderstanding from this wikipedia article)

-zeus isn't the only god who does terrible things to women, your fav male god probably has done the same

-on that note, your fav greek hero has probably done some heinous shit as well

-gods are more complicated than simply being "god of [insert thing]", many titles overlap between gods and some may even change depending on where they were worshipped

-also, apollo and artemis being the gods of the sun and the moon isn't 100% accurate, their main aspects as deities originally were music and the hunt

-titans and gods aren't two wholly different concepts, titan is just the word used to decribe the generation of gods before the olympians

-hector isn't the villain some people make him out to be

-hephaestus WAS married to aphrodite. they divorced. yes, divorce was a thing in ancient greece. hephaestus' wife is aglaia

-ancient greek society didn't have the same concepts of sexuality that we have now, it's incorrect to describe virgin goddesses like artemis and athena as lesbians, BUT it's also not wholly accurate to describe them as aromantic/asexual, it's more complex than that

-you can never fully understand certain myths if you don't understand the societal context in which they were told

-myths have lots and lots of retellings, there isn't one singular "canon", but we can try to distinguish between older and newer versions and bewteen greek and roman versions

-most of what you know about sparta is probably incorrect

-reading/waching retellings is not a substitute to reading the original myths, read the iliad! read the odyssey! i know they may seem intimidating, but they're much more entertaining than you may think

greek mythology is so complex and interesting, don't go into it with preconcieved notions! try to be open to learn!

Odysseus: How many suitors are there? Servant: 128. Though, twenty of them formed a guard, after Antinous turned out to be a dick. Odysseus: *Thinking* Servant: Ten are away with the prince, the other ten are keeping guard over Penelope. Odysseus: Why? Servant: They're being bodyguards Odysseus: No, why did they come if they're not seeking the Queen's hand? Servant: Oh, they're trying to convince the Prince to marry their daughters. *Meanwhile* Guard #1: *Watching Telemachus with one of his friends* I'm starting to think the Prince might be swinging the other way. Guard #2: That's alright, I've got a son.

You know. While I do appreciate the headcannon that Odysseus and Penelope had absolutely sick nasty sex as soon as he got home, my opinion is actually that they went straight to bed and slept through the night and well into the next day, getting the best sleep either of them has gotten in 20 years.

Because like. We know why Odysseus would need to rest finally after being in the Trojan war and then being hunted by gods and monsters for the next ten years.

But Penelope.

Penelope was home. Waiting, and then she was told the Trojan war is over and Odysseus should be home any day. And then months passed and then that turned to years. And now suitors are claiming her husband is dead and she needs to choose someone else. And at first they’re polite about it but then they grow increasingly…not so polite about it.

Odysseus was battling monsters, yes. But Penelope lived with them. I imagine she spent every night sleeping lightly, knife in hand and facing her bedroom door—maybe not sleeping at all. She wouldn’t be able to stop all of them but she wouldn’t go down without a fight.

And nearly ten years passes like that.

And then Odysseus finally makes it back and all the suitors are dead. Yeah, fucking him is nice but holy shit she needs to fucking sleep.

Heartbreaking concept: Penelope thinking up the challenge years in advance once it becomes clear the suitors won't leave without a marriage, specifically thinking of something Odysseus can do, with the axes, sitting at the end with the assurance that she will die if they succeed, and having Telemachus trained to use his father's bow specifically from a young age. Initially she doesn't say anything about her true intentions but one he reaches like 15, she explains that if she ever issues the challenge then she expects him to complete the challenge, including killing her, and taking up the throne
