LOOK WHAT HE DID! THIS IS DISGUSTING! SOMONE CALL CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES ON GABRIEL! HE DID THIS TO HIS SON AND MARINETTE FOR AN AKUMA! This is a new low, he literally forced marinette to break up with him and made him cry. Nah. I hope Gabriel can catch hands just like he catches butterflies.
i feel like people are ascribing way too logic into marinetteâs decision making right now. marinette is not thinking logically. and that does not mean âmarinette has flawed reasoningâ or âmarinette is making choices on bad logicâ - i mean she is literally not applying logical thought. she is avoiding these conversations out of fear. sheâs not paternalistically âmaking decisions for chat noirâs own goodâ or deciding what is best for him without his input. sheâs avoiding a hard conversation.
this has been a consistent character flaw of marinette. she does fine with some confrontations, but emotionally heavy convos with people important to her? that is something that she has always gotten anxious about and avoided. telling adrien how she feels, telling chloe she canât be queen bee anymore â even when she wants to do it or knows she has to, she procrastinates or avoids or self-sabotages. marinette not talking to chat noir - about rena and identities, about chat blanc - is the same thing. sheâs avoidant.
now, with chat noir, she does have extra reasons to avoid it. with chloe, she knew she had to. with adrien, she wants to. but with chat? having that additional âitâs a safety riskâ and âwhat if it makes things worseâ is an excuse she tells herself and maybe others, but itâs not the real reason she hasnât talked to him. marinette is bad at perspective taking. sheâs not thinking âi need to keep this from him because he canât handle it,â sheâs thinking âi never want to talk about this ever because i canât handle it.â yes, itâs unfair to chat noir and itâll bite them both in the ass. but marinetteâs flaws are not master fuâs flaws or gabriel agresteâs flaws, even when from the outside she is doing something similar.
sheâs scared of that conversation. full stop. safety risks and worry about his reaction are all rationalizations sheâs using to justify her avoidance.
WHO ELSE IS SEASON 6 HYYYYYYPE
Hes probably like sorry ur mum died or whatever :/
miraculous ladybug is a hotbed of whiplash between extremely hard-hitting show-don't-tell writing and expositing-the-point-directly-into-the-camera writing. like the show is constructed so the basic plot can be understood by 6 year olds but then you'll randomly have a scene during a timeskip that shows adrien's room in a depression-induced mess after he quits modelling and it will never be addressed as such but it will neatly convey the disruption to his mental state that a lack of routine causes him. and u just have to deal with both of those things side by side constantlyđ
