Снежная королева (The Snow Queen)
69 in x of animated feature film history Release: 1957 Country: Soviet Union Director: Lev Atamanov
“The Snow Queen is based on a story of the same name by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, first published in 1844.
The story begins with a little man, who says he is ‘Old Dreamy’ (’Ole Lukøje’), telling the tale of the Snow Queen. He starts with two children, Kay and Gerda, planting roses together.
On a winter night following, Gerda’s grandmother tells the two children the legend of the Snow Queen. The Snow Queen’s proud and frowning face is seen in Gerda’s frosted window to Gerda’s exclamation, ‘It’s the Snow Queen!’ Kay jokes, ‘Let her come in here, and I’ll put her on a hot stove!’ This angers the Snow Queen, who is watching the children from her mirror, which she smashes with her scepter, telling the ice splinters of the shattered mirror to go into the eyes and hearts of those who have offended her. Back at Gerda’s home the window bursts open, letting in ice splinters that get into Kay’s eyes and heart. His personality changes: he is hostile toward Gerda. The next day, Kay ties his sled to the sleigh of the Snow Queen, which has suddenly appeared.
Gerda goes out to look for Kay. She faces many adventures; a sorceress attempts to steal her memories; she painstakingly finds a boy who turns out not to be Kay; she’s captured by thieves; and whisked far to the North to save Kay.
In 1959, the film was dubbed into English and released by Universal Pictures. This version is introduced by a six-minute live-action Christmas prologue featuring TV personality Art Linkletter. The American version also contained an entirely rewritten musical score and had three new songs in English, two of which replaced the Russian songs.
Hayao Miyazaki has stated that this film is one of his inspirations to work in animation. When he started his career, Miyazaki had a rough start and was thinking of leaving animation already. When he saw The Snow Queen, he admired it and continued working in anime. In September 2007, it was announced that Studio Ghibli will be distributing this film through their Ghibli Museum Library label, and it was released in December 2007 (in the original Russian audio with Japanese subtitles).”

I'm here writing this because I’m hyping over TeruKane
After chapter 79, I have some theories popped up in my mind and now I’m here blabbing about my dear OTP. Don’t take these theories so serious ok? J4F cuz im so hyped!!!
First of all, you guys know that TeruAo has become an actual ship. Don’t get too worked up over that, when I read the manga I was shock and the fact that Teru unreasonably fall in love with Aoi upsets me, too. Anyhow, Aida Iro must have something hidden behind this (please do ;-;)
I had a glimpse of this theory that I found it quite suitable to describe how Teru acted in this chapter. Teru is said to not leave people behind as long as there is still a chance to save them, right?
When Aoi and Akane crossed to the boundary, and because of this panel we can assume that Teru was suprised that Aoi was there. That Teru didn't expect to lose an innocent life to the other world.
From there onward, he knew that he couldn't save her. Later on he might feel guilty of it because he somehow let go of a human life and he saw that as a sin. He thought of Aoi coming to the boundary as his responsibility and she accidentally slipped into the boundary is his fault. Maybe that is just the humanity of a young exorcist like him and he desires to save her to pay for his mistake.
Moving on to our chapter 79 where Aida Iro confirms the TeruAo ship in a most shocking way possible. Teru mentioned something like he needs to save Aoi in order to fullfill his dream.
What is his dream though? What is the desire makes him wanting to get Aoi back so bad apart from the guilty feeling? Can you see his little blush behind his hand 👀
Look closer 👀
TeruKane shippers, get ready, you won't believe what I had in mind of this panel, neither do I-
Well, I would say that Teru doesn't seem like he is actually have a crush on Aoi. Isn't that quite contradictory when assuming Teru liking Akane while he looks pretty obsessive with bringing Aoi back? Why not? And these are the two evidences:
First of all, what if he meant to say "Akane-san" indicating Aoi but accidentally calling Akane by his own name? Imagine calling your crush by their name, it is obvious that Teru would be flustered in front of Akane isn't it?
Second of all, the reason why he intentionally saying "Akane-san" and he wants her back is because he wants to see how happy Akane would be. It is like Teru is having a one-sided love and he knew that if he likes Akane, he can just look at him from far away. The best he could do right then to make Akane happy is by bringing Aoi back 😢
It's like Teru saying "I just want Akane-san back" and he kept the "...for you" silence
In conclusion, the two things make Teru desires to save Aoi is he felt guilty and he wants the best for his beloved and maybe his little bro or Yashiro. Teru is quite unpredictable though ^^
That's it for the theories, thank you for reading thou
P/s: Please don't bash Aoi just because Aida Iro wants the ship to be like that ;; It's not her fault and Aoi is a precious girl after all. If Teru is crushing on her for real, may be Aida Iro's writing is not very favorable for us shippers 😢
LOSING MY SHIT??? (RT)
