🎂 Happy 'Heavenly' Birthday to William (Horatio) Powell; born on July 29th, 1892 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Best remembered for portraying private detective 'Nick Charles' in the six films of "The Thin Man Series (1934 -1947). He also appeared in the films: "Libeled Lady", "My Man Godfrey" (both from 1936) and "Life With Father" (1947). 🍸 🎭

🇺🇸 Actress Carole Lombard in Chicago, Illinois on January 14th, 1942 while on a war bond tour. Two days later she; along with 21 others, were killed in an airplane crash just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Life long friends; Ruby Keeler and Patsy Kelly attending Jack Blue's School of Dance in NYC around 1922/23 and again backstage in the Broadway revival of "No, No, Nanette" in 1971.
