We are told quite often that people that cut only do it for attention. I know that normally that is not the case. A friend of mine fights with her own case of depression. She often has the urge to cut. She’s given me a reason for it too. During her depression episode her mentality is a little different than normal. Many times they think the physical pain will take away the emotional pain most of them face. During depression she thinks that things are her fault. She can’t help this way of thinking. As a solution to the permanent marks left by a blade, she uses a dry erase marker. This shows what they want to do in a less harmful way. It can be washed off and they are left with only the mental change. Cutting can kill. Please pass this solution around for those like her. They need you.
