My century vase for ceramics finally came out of the kiln! I actually really like how this came out. The project was we had to make a vase with the same silhouette as the original century vase. We were allowed to add on other things to the vase, it was just required that we add handles. It had to have a theme, mine was music.

Materials:

04 earthenware clay, plastic rib, metal serrated rib, turn table, wooden board, rasp, carving tools, blending tools, underglaze, colored slip, and several glazes

If you haven’t started already, start archiving/downloading everything. Save it to an external hard drive if you’re able. Collecting physical media is also a good idea, if you’re able.

Download your own/your favorite fanfics. Save as much as you can from online sources/digital libraries. Recipes, tutorials, history, LGBTQ media, etc. It has been claimed, though I can’t find the exact source if true, that some materials about the Revolutionary War were deleted from the Library of Congress.

It’s always better to be safe than sorry and save and preserve what you can. Remember that cloud storage also is not always reliable!

Library of Congress - millions of books, films and video, audio recordings, photographs, newspapers, maps, manuscripts.

Internet Archive - millions of free texts, movies, software, music, websites, and more. Has been taken offline multiple times because of cyber attacks last month, it has recently started archiving again.

Anna's Archive - 'largest truly open library in human history.’

Queer Liberation Library - queer literature and resources. Does require applying for a library membership to browse and borrow from their collection.

List of art resources - list of art resources complied on tumblr back in 2019. Not sure if all links are still operational now, but the few I clicked on seemed to work.

Alexis Amber - TikToker who is an archivist who's whole page is about archiving. She has a database extensively recording the events of Hurricane Katrina.

I'll be adding more to this list, if anyone else wants to add anything feel free!

Not to get too personal on the getting-too-personal website, but I just feel a little lonely every time I see my friends (who are dating) do little things that I don’t really get to because Im aromatic. Like… I want to want to be in a relationship, but I don’t know if it’s something that I’m actually comfortable with. I think it’d be nice to have someone who just looks at you with a love and appreciation thats different than other friends do. I wish I could have a platonic partner like that but it feels so impossible…

something about how AI has historically been seen as something to gain sentience and decide violence is the only way, as if it’s a reflection on violent humanity. But but but…. Detroit: Become Human and The Wild Robot and on and on we see these AI and droids and robots gain their sentience and humanity, and they can choose kindness and community and that’s the real reflection. We are inherently human. And we can choose kindness

Hi Miss Thorn.

I was recently reading through your trans writes article about you choosing not to do PR for the NHS. In one line you mention that the medical system "exaggerates or wholly confabulates" certain medical risks, and I was wondering if you could give more of an explanation or some examples about that stuff. I tried looking it up on my own but I didn't really know what keywords to search for, and I don't want to fall into some weird anti-science conspiracy theory rabbithole (especially at a kind of vulnerable part of my transition where I'm finally giving "doing hormones" more serious thought as a Thing I Would Actually Do rather than an idle fantasy where the results magically "fix" me (or a kind of anxiety where it doesn't do anything of value at all :< )

Thank you regardless for your great videos over the years,

A Very Nervous Enby

Sure! So, I would argue that the Cass Review is a prime example of this phenomenon. It concluded that puberty blockers have caused zero documented cases of harm as long as they've been used in Britain, but they might cause some unknown kind of harm in the future, somehow; a harm that hasn't been detected in any of the other countries who have used them, whose evidence - by the way - was discarded.

So we have no evidence of past harm, no idea what a future mystery harm might be, when it might happen, the mechanism for it, or why it would only show up here, now, and not in any of the other countries who have given trans kids blockers previously...

This is clearly making shit up!

And yet the Cass Review was used to justify a ban on blockers.

The only way this makes sense is if by "harm" they mean "being trans." Cass expressed particular concern that most kids who start on blockers go on to medically transition, which - yeah duh? But whereas a normal person views this as a neutral fact about the world, transphobes see it as bad - they see being trans as a bad or dangerous thing to be - and so they want to make people "avoid it" as much as possible.

This is what I mean when I say pathologization exaggerates or in some cases outright fabricates risks of medical transition to justify restricting our bodily autonomy under the guise of "care."

ekko getting stuck in an alternate universe, meeting and falling in love with powder a second time, creating a mural of his universe’s vi from memory so powder can see what her sister looks like all grown up, inventing hextech so he can go back to his universe, using his time travel to talk jinx out of killing herself multiple times until he gets it right, and then saving everyone… he is quite literally the man of the moment!! EKKO YOU WILL ALWAYS BE LOVED!!!

Kinder Than Man

kinder than man

And God please let the deer on the highway get some kind of heaven. Something with tall soft grass and sweet reunion. Let the moths in porch lights go someplace with a thousand suns, that taste like sugar and get swallowed whole. May the mice in oil and glue have forever dry, warm fur and full bellies. If I am killed for simply living, let death be kinder than man.
