Relationships: Alex Claremont-Diaz/Henry Fox-Mountchristen-Windsor
Summary: AU. Fresh off a frustrating Grindr interaction, Alex heads to Texas to do legal work at the border for three months. While he’s gone, June and Nora meet Henry and Pez and become friends, making Alex feel a little replaced. Things get worse before they get better, because when he finally meets Henry, Alex realizes it’s not the first time they’ve crossed paths. Told through texts, lists, emails sent and unsent and even a GrubHub order, this is the story of how Alex and Henry get from a bad second impression to maybe the rest of their lives.

11K • Explicit • Firstprince • Urban Sketchers AU
Upon opening the hardcover of a found sketchbook to locate the owner's contact details, Alex discovers only this inscription: > In case of loss, please return to: Instagram @henryfox.usk He, of fucking course, knows who Henry Fox is. That striking yet humorless, rude, and self-righteous British prick he met on the first day of the symposium.
Or, an AU where Alex and Henry are urban sketchers. A short story of how they get to know each other, fall in love and in bed within one day.
Please note that the sketches in this work were all generated with ChatGPT and then manually edited by myself with Procreate. They were not entirely hand-drawn by me, although I do wish I had that level of skill. 😭
Wise men say, only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you
Shall I stay? Would it be a sin?
If I can't help falling in love with you
Pink
Affectionate and soft, the adjectives given to the Prince of England's hearts
Blue and white stripes
Formal, navy is the color of authority and power
Blue and light blue stripes (Henry focus pls)
Simple but formal, two colors often used for work settings. Light blue adds friendliness
Grey
Conservative and conformative, add mysteriousness
Orange Copper
Wealth, copper indicates luxury and sophistication
Blue and silver stripes
Grace and elegance, Henry needed to be pretty for his date 💕
Carmine with green stripes
Love, red is associated with passion and sensuality but also prohibition (+ green can indicate outlaw lifestyle)
Sky blue with thin white stripes
Peace, sky blue symbolizes daydreaming and conveys serenity; white is associated with purity
Side addition: solid tie is the basic pattern that doesn't add anything to the tie and lets the color speak for itself; polka dot adds playfulness and/or sophistication; stripes mean classic and elegant but can differ from one another (Henry always wears the British type with stripes that run from left shoulder down to the right side)

In the spirit of encouraging people to comment on fanfics while also making it easier to do so, I feel obliged to share a browser extension for ao3 that has quite literally revolutionized the comment game for me.
I present to you: the floating ao3 comment box!
From what I've seen, a big problem for many people is that once you reach the comments at the bottom of a fic, your memory of it miraculously disappears. Anything you wanted to say is stuck ten paragraphs ago, and you barely remember what you thought while reading. This fixes that!
I'll give a little explanation on the features and how it works, but if you want to skip all that, here's the link.
The extension is visible as a small blue box in the upper left corner.
(Side note: The green colouring is not from the extension, that's me.)
If you click on it, you open a comment box window at the bottom of your screen but not at the bottom of the fic. I opened my own fic for demonstrative purposes.
The website also gives explanations on how exactly it functions, but I'll summarize regardless.
insert selection -> if you highlight a sentence in the fic it will be added in italics to the comment box
add to comment box -> once you're done writing your comment, you click this button and the entire thing will automatically copied to the ao3 comment box
delete -> self explanatory
on mulitchapter fics, you will be given the option to either add the comment to just the current chapter or the entire fic
The best part? You can simply close the window the same way you opened it and your progress will automatically be saved. So you can open it, comment on a paragraph, and then close it and keep reading without having the box in your face.
Comments are what keep writers going, and as both a writer and a reader, I think it's such an easy way of showing support and enthusiasm.
fanfic speedrun: write the scene you want to write and skip the rest of the fic
(same goes on the reader side of things)
Starting the new year off with the first chapter of my long pod of a gorgeous firstprince (RWRB) fic!
Author: acastle
Rating: E
Length: eventually 8ish hours, broken up into 6 chapters
Summary:
“She truly is your daughter, Alex,” Henry sighs, defeated.
“Fuck off, sweetheart,” he laughs, a soundbite of the sun. Henry forces himself not to physically react, the term of endearment sweet and menacingly familiar coming from Alex’s lips. It’s been years. “You know they’re useful.”
“Ah yes, eyelashes, truly a formidable instrument in managing international relations.”
Alex grins, and Henry is too late to catch the slightest downward lilt on the corner of his mouth, “Worked on you once, didn’t it?”
Oh, did that ache.
(Much had happened since the time Henry had told Alex to leave. Alex had passed the bar, gotten married, had the most beautiful daughter. And Henry, well. He stayed right where he was.)
Notes: this fic is beautiful and heart wrenching and heart mending and just!!!!
