Sketching at doctors office while jamming to f+tm what kind of man

first submission! alright, this was originally for my girlfriend, exoskeletons. well, i wound up selling it for $30 at the art show. i was playing around with e.h. shepard’s style (the original artist for the winnie the pooh storybooks.) we have a little joke about comparing each other to a doberman and chihuahua and hence why this came out. media used: watercolour, india ink

Silverfish walked with the grace she only mustered for Tanner, a fine silver grey mare with hair in the same color family but several tints lighter than her master’s. He dismounted her, taking his sword to behead and dismember the bodies. Enemy, ally; it didn’t matter. It was bad enough to fight an enemy you already defeated.

It was worse to kill a friend you had to bury again.

Oh my god it’s done.

So been on a fanart-for-fanfic kind of kick and this one is inspired by/for @steelestingray‘s Of Kings and Curators! It’s been really refreshing just making things for things I like versus worrying about monetizing, cons and the like. I really enjoyed the mental image of Laurent having an aura that goes between gold and blush and blue and wanted to play around with it (the blue, I could lie and say was deliberate, but my brush flicked some ink. I just shrugged and went with it.)

I still feel like Laurent came out looking like a J Crew/LL Bean model mixed with a history T.A. with the sweater-vest but honestly, I’m glad I stuck with it.

Graphite (2H and 2B,) watercolor (Daniel Smith,) Liquitex Iridescent Gold ink, and Pilot Iroshizuku inks in Kon-peki (Cerulean Blue) and Syoro (Dew on Pine Tree/a really lovely blue-green.)
