Humanized Bentley/Penelope fluff (in green!)

Sly and Penelope’s reunion

This is what their reunion in Sly 4 would have been like if that game hadn’t been written by fanboys who cared more about inserting fuzzy T&A in the game than they cared about writing half-decent female characters (and good stories to go with them). Seriously, this game wasted a GREAT opportunity to showcase these two interacting as platonic buddies. I imagine him teasing her about that old crush pretty much every time Bentley and Carmelita are out of earshot.

Sly 3 scenes: After the blinding dust incident

As you’ve probably figured out by now, I have a thing for imagining what happened “behind the scenes” in my favorite series. XD I loved how Bentley and Penelope’s love story played out. But I think it would have been a bit better if we had gotten more scenes with them interacting as buddies and growing closer before Penelope’s shining moment of romantic badassery at the end of the Pirate level. Also, I think it would make sense for Penelope to be more upset by her initial screw ups in the field than she let on. So I like to think that Bentley reassured her while he helped her get the blinding dust out of her eyes and, after having his first real in depth conversation with her, came to see her as a friend/person first instead of just viewing her as a potential girlfriend. And that she warmed up to him after he stopped being so damn pushy and just treated her like a normal person.

Sly 3 Screencap re-draw

I just dug up one of my first attempts at humanizing the Sly Cooper cast because it fits in with the current “Re-Draw a screen cap” trend.

Basically, I wanted to see how well my humanized versions worked within the context of an actual scene from the game. I also tweeked it to focus more on the characters than the background (that’s why the drawing cuts off the vault and shows Bentley & Penelope’s faces)

Tablet Test: Murray and Penelope

This was one of my first times coloring with a digital tablet. Coloring around the original linework instead of tracing it produces a neat look. But it’s a bit of a pain in the ass to stay within the lines.

Also, I love these two together. And one of Sly 4’s MANY faults was the way it just pretended that their friendship never existed at all. Seriously, screw that stupid game.

Bentley’s Hover Chair

I saw some footage from Playstation Move Heroes and I noticed that the Bentley design in that game included a hovering wheelchair. And I like to believe that this was his primary motivation for building it. …..yeah, I know. I’m a huge sap. ^_^;

If Sly 2 ever got remade, I would love to see Bentley get a bowling attack.

Hello! I haven't been able to been able to be as active on tumblr lately because online school is ahhhhh but. For a random Sly Cooper headcanon: after the events of Sly 3, Penelope and Bentley both study the Thievious Raccoonus. Penelope learns how to do a bunch of master thief moves like spire jumps and railwalks and becomes "the new Sly"

Penelope also tried learning shadow power, but being a bright white mouse it didn’t really work out…

One interesting thing I LOVE about the Holland Level in Sly 3:

So I’ve talked before about how every Sly Cooper level is based on the personality of the character who owns it. 

Generally, this means that the level’s color palette will be based on the villain’s color palette! You can see this very clearly in Karin Madan’s concept art for Sly 1:

But then you get to the Holland level. You’re introduced to the Black Baron, whose color palette is obviously BLACK and RED.

So you go into the level expecting to see a lot of black and red. The Contessa was another black-and-red-themed character, and her levels had RED SKIES and BLACK SHADOWS, because that’s how Sly Cooper level design works.

But then…. you don’t see that?

Instead, the level’s color palette full of purple…

 Gold….

And light blue skies.

Because the levels are based on the personalties of the character who owns them! Purple, gold, and blue  aren’t the Black Baron’s colors–but they ARE Penelope’s colors!

How 'Sly Cooper 5' should start....

This scenario is the ONLY thing that could persuade me to purchase Sly Cooper 5 if Sanzaru ever makes it. Because it is pretty much the only way to salvage that mess of plot holes and character assassinations that made up Thieves in Time.

Sly 4 was a fever dream and didn’t happen.

Please imagine with me the potential for The Contessa to make a comeback. Imagine her forcing Penelope into a hypnotic, spice induced state where both her and Bentley’s intelligence and knowledge were stolen/abused for Cyrille Le Paradox’s scheme for time travel. But the only reason The Contessa was on board to work for Cyrille was because she wanted to get back at Bentley. He was the one responsible for ripping Sly, Murray, and Carmelita out of her control. She had some interest in getting back at Sly too, but Bentley was her main target.

If only Thieves in Time was written better. :’( Penelope and Bentley did not deserve what happened… And there were so many cool opportunities WASTED.

Tried to do a little redesign for Penelope, it felt weird to me how she didn’t look similar in the cutscenes to the look her 3D model has, so I tried to make her look like a combination of both yee!
