More humanized Bentley&Penelope fluff
I LOVE the way the sword pose came out. I don’t even care that I forgot to add glasses to it! XD
For context, we see this happen midway through the El Jefe boss fight.
Before the boss fight, Penelope ran off towards the blimp without anyone seeing her. She has a decision to make when she sees Sly and El Jefe having their duel...
Yes, she does end up doing the right thing. She provides aerial support for Sly.
The others are fully aware she's gone missing. Yes, she does get scolded for running off when she comes back... primarily by Bentley. Though she is partially let off the hook for helping Sly.
The fact that she's being targeted by kidnappers doesn't help her case in the slightest.
At least she's only scolded for running off. That definitely beats getting reamed for the act of betrayal... That secret is still safe, BTW.
Hmm...You know what'd be interesting? For their to be some shared upgrade pools for the various members of the Gang, you know when it's more than just the main trio. Like if there's some overlap between the characters in terms of playstyle, they could be some sharing of moves. I got the idea from that picture you reblogged making me remember that Penelope IS a Champion Boxer, so now I'm imagining her sharing some of Murray's punch based moves.
Frankly, any acknowledgement of Penelope’s boxing prowess would probably be a good idea
Is she a frail nerd or isn’t she? They really flipflop on it
Have two main characters get into a heated argument that escalates.
Introduce a rival who challenges your protagonist’s goals.
Have a character betray the group, creating distrust and tension.
Make a natural disaster strike, forcing characters to work together despite differences.
Have your protagonist face a moral dilemma that splits their friends’ opinions.
Introduce a character with opposing beliefs or values.
Make resources scarce, leading to fights over necessities.
Have a long-buried secret come to light, causing conflict among characters.
Create a situation where characters must choose between loyalty and personal gain.
Have an authority figure issue an unjust order, causing characters to rebel.
For context, this is one of Penelope's actions during Something's Fishy. Episode 1. It's during a newly added RC Car segment.
For more context, this "gate" is something she could have opened in seconds. It's something she designed herself.
And these "higher expectations" might make future snooping sessions a bit harder. Whoops. And even worse, she comes out of this one empty-handed.
But at least her boyfriend and honorary older brother like her better now?
Hey kids! Welcome to my behind the scenes blog!
Do you hate Thieves In Time with a burning passion?
Do you love redemption stories?
Are you a Bentley/Penelope fan like me?
Are you wondering what might have happened if Penelope had joined the boys for the events of Thieves In Time?
If you answered "yes" to all of these questions, then congratulations! This Thieves In Time rewrite is for you!
Since I can't pin more than one thing to the top of my blog, here's a link to the abridged version of my story!
Here's a link to the mission recaps, and a link to everything Penelope does in the story.
Feel free to ask me anything about Thieves In Time Redux!
My askbox is currently open. I have so far answered 6 questions.
"boy drama" HSHDJSK yeah i love the idea of penelope and murray being Bros just chilling and ignoring everything lmfao. like i get why we didn't (time, pacing etc... bah) but i really wish we got more of the extended gang just hanging out (tm). i can see penelope just being just down for tinkering w cool shit and having a good time w her new pals. and being totally oblivious to bentley's thirsting for her (kinda links in to me reading her as some kinda neurodivergent ig? i've said it before and i'll say it again but creating and maintaining an entire alter ego in order to get past age restrictions/implied gender bias and dominate the field of your hobby is absolute TOP tier nd girlboss energy)
trust one of my main issues with Sly 3 is how it's a game all about assembling a gang of thieves but benches them completely for almost its entirety. like i get wanting to roam the hubs as Penelope, Guru or PK whenever might be unreasonable to ask for (i guess?), but not having them around at all in the safehouse is such a bizarre choice. and the idea of having Penelope tinkering on gadgets in the back is perfect bestie
even looking past this, the cutscene sections of the gang hanging out together are so limited. we're mostly treated to them traveling in their silly goofy disguises (which ok, iconic). give me Sly 1 end of episode cutscenes, where the gang just idk has fun. give me Penelope beating the boys at their videogames
Just played Sly 3 again and I had to draw something I’ve wanted to draw for years: The entire Gang squeezed in the van
featuring my redesigns that you can see fully here
One character immediately steps in when something happens, overprotective much? The other one is like, “Chill. I got this.”
They stand just a little too close, constantly checking if the other person’s okay, but trying (and failing) to be subtle about it.
“Be careful,” “Watch out,” or “Don’t do that,” every two seconds, like they’re babysitting, but it's all about concern.
One of them puts a hand on the other’s shoulder, almost possessively, like, “Don’t worry, I’m here.”
They instinctively move in front, even if it’s something minor like a crowded street or a heated argument.
me: draws my mouse dortor because she is too pure for this world and i love her
