Magical Correspondences of Coffee

I recently accepted the fact that I have a lactose aversion, which saddens me because I slam milk like it's the 90's. The stabbing abdominal pain and jank ass bowel movements outweigh the weird satisfaction I get from cow milk.

On a vaguely related note, milk/cream is something that one might put in coffee, and is associated with nurturing, power and protection. Think of your coffee cup as a cauldron, and the coffee is the base liquid, the things you add to it can be charged with magical intent and that magic will follow you through your whole day.

Here's some popular coffee additives and their correspondences:

Coffee: stimulant, great for energy work and cleansing

Sugar: love, purification, attraction

Honey/Maple/Syrups: binding, attraction, love

Milk/Cream: nurturing, power, protection

Soy Milk: protection, job success

Coconut Milk: protection, cleansing

Oat Milk: grounding, prosperity, wealth

Almond Milk: prosperity, healing, wealth, wisdom

Vanilla: happiness, love, good fortune

Add some of these to your coffee, stir with intent, and watch how it effects your day. Happy casting

Crafting Magic: Exploring the Basics of Spell Structure

Introduction: Spells are an integral part of witchcraft and occult practices, allowing us to harness our intentions, work with energy, and manifest our desires. Understanding the basic structure of a spell is essential for creating effective and meaningful magical rituals. In this blog post, we will dive into the foundations of spell structure, guiding you through the key elements necessary to craft your own spells and enhance your magical practice.

Intent and Clarity: The first step in spellcraft is determining your intent. Clearly define what you wish to achieve or manifest through your spell. Be specific and concise, as a well-defined intention helps focus your energy and align your actions. Take the time to contemplate your desires and ensure they resonate with your values and highest good. When your intent is clear, the rest of the spell structure falls into place more easily.

Gathering Supplies: Once you have set your intention, gather the supplies and tools you will need for your spell. These can include candles, herbs, crystals, sigils, ritual objects, or anything else that aligns with your intention. Choose items that symbolize or enhance the energy you wish to work with. Cleansing and consecrating your tools before use can amplify their magical properties and establish a sacred connection.

Creating Sacred Space: Before casting a spell, it is important to create a sacred space that fosters focus, clarity, and energetic alignment. This can be done through various methods, such as smudging with herbs, casting a protective circle, or simply visualizing a bubble of sacred energy around you. Establishing sacred space helps to separate mundane reality from magical practice and invites higher vibrations into your ritual.

Setting the Mood: Setting the mood is crucial for creating the right atmosphere and raising the energy necessary for spellcasting. Consider lighting candles, playing soft music, or using incense to enhance the ambiance. Choose scents, colors, and sounds that align with the intention of your spell. Allow yourself to enter a state of heightened awareness and receptivity, preparing yourself to work with the energies at hand.

Energy Activation: Activating and directing energy is a core aspect of spellwork. This can be done through various methods, such as visualization, chanting, or movement. Visualize the energy flowing within and around you, building in intensity as you focus your intention. Channel this energy through your body, your tools, or into the designated ritual space. Use your chosen method to raise and direct the energy toward your desired outcome.

Ritual Action: Ritual action serves as the bridge between the mundane and the magical. It is the physical manifestation of your intention and energy. This can take the form of lighting a candle, crafting a sigil, reciting incantations, or performing symbolic gestures. Let your intuition guide you in selecting the actions that feel most aligned with your intent. As you engage in these actions, infuse them with purpose and intention, visualizing your desires coming to fruition.

Expressing Gratitude and Closing: Gratitude is an integral part of spellcraft. Express gratitude to the universe, deities, spirits, or whatever higher power you resonate with, acknowledging their assistance and support. Thank them for the manifestation of your intention, even if it has not yet physically manifested. Close your spell by releasing the energy and dismissing the sacred space you created, returning to the mundane realm with a sense of completion and closure.

Conclusion: By understanding the basic structure of a spell, you gain the tools to craft effective and meaningful rituals. Remember to always work with integrity, aligning your intentions with your highest good and the greater good of all. As you explore and refine your spellcasting skills, allow your intuition to guide you, and adapt the structure to

suit your personal style. Embrace the magic within you, and watch as your intentions manifest in the world around you.

Magickal Bong Rips

I decided to make my toking into more of a ritual. I find if I’m bored or depressed when I smoke, the pot just amplifies it - and same for positive emotions like creativity & relaxation. To get more into the habit of smoking mindfully and with purpose, I’ve created a little magickal bong ritual.  Need:  Bong Ground, dried cannabis  Intent  Crystal that matches intent  1L purified water bottle 500mL Jar  Candle (optional) Incense (optional) Clean your space. Actually clean it. Get your shit done and your room clean so you can receive clear energy and not have to worry about cleaning later! Cleanse your space & body with your preferred method (I use palo santo).  Sit down and think about the reason you want to smoke. Do you need physical healing? Do you want to connect with an element or deity? Unleash your creativity? Create intent out of reason. If it’s “I’m bored” or “I’m anxious”, I usually think twice.   Set up your altar and space, and ready anything you’ll need after smoking.  Are you doing a ritual? Art? Tarot? Magickal study? Set it up.  (I find it makes me anxious when I’m high and can’t find my tools.) Find a crystal that matches your intent. My intent was to enhance self-love and self-care, so I chose Rose Quartz. Make sure it is a crystal that won’t degrade in water, like Selenite. (Edit: Also do your research!! Some crystals aren’t meant to be ingested - like Malachite! Look up “indirect method” for gem elixir brewing for more info!)  Run the crystal under cold water to clean any dirt and negative energies. Ground yourself and sit with your crystal. Cleanse it with your preferred method. Hold it in your hands and feel it’s vibration or energy beats, if you can. Visualize a pulsing, white light coming from the crystal centre, growing and slowly enveloping your entire body. Focus on receiving pure crystal energy. Focus again on the crystal and now imagine your intent piercing and filling the crystal. Sit with it until ready, and put it in the empty jar. Cover with spring water. Hold the jar of spring water and crystal and once more, focus your intention. Drink the remaining water to stay hydrated!   Leave it on the windowsill in the sunlight for 20 minutes up to as long as a whole day. I usually let it sit a couple hours and do other work in the meantime.  I like to burn an incense that matches my intent, like Frankincense - purity, healing, spiritual connection. This is your interaction with Air.  I also like to burn a candle for a Fire connection. I imagine my intent dancing in its flame and motivating me.  Clean your piece! Name your piece. Connect with it. Feel it. Get to know it. Charge your pieces by running them under cold water and focusing on positive intent & good, healing energies. Use coarse salt and vinegar to clean any gunk, second shake with just salt and water, concentrating on purification. And finally,  run clear, cool water through it a while, appreciating the Water element and its healing powers.  Let your glass friend dry, and grab your weed. Look at the nug. This is your Earth connection. What does it smell like? Look like? What does the name remind you of? What do you hope to get from it? Get to know what you are putting in your body, and how it will benefit you.  Set the nug on, next to, or in a small container with a clear quartz crystal. Leave it near the charging water on the window sill to cleanse any impurities or negatives, until you’re ready to smoke.

When you feel they are charged, grab the water and pot and return to your magickal space. Sit and ground yourself, connecting with the earth. Focus on your intent. Mindfully assemble your bong. Before toking, pause. Breathe.  Bring the flame to the bowl and focus on the Fire energy igniting the Earth’s cannabis, connecting with Water and manifesting your intent with Air. Make every part of it a mindful experience - the flick of the lighter, the sizzle of the embered pot, the bubbling of the crystal-infused water, and the feeling of the magickal smoke filling your lungs with your intent, and sending it out into the world. After your exhale, pause, and focus on this feeling.  Remember to breathe, be still, and notice.  You are now magickally high.

Witch tip:

It's fine if you can't remember things.

It's fine if you need to write notes or check back into books for info.

I know there is this idea in the witch community that you need to remember everything but that's not possible.

Books and notes are there to help us.

They are there for looking back on and there should be no shame in looking back on them or needing to do check ups.

Books and notes are there for a reason!
