The minute you stop putting bigotry in little boxes of “oh it’s an x thing” or “it’s a y thing” and accept that bigotry is intersectional and doesn’t care about boundaries, you can start helping yourself and your fellow targets of hatred.
Being sexualised without consent isn’t just “oh it’s a girl thing! Welcome to the club trans women!!” It’s about being an “other”. Bigots don’t care about you identifying as a woman or a man, you’re just an other whose identity has been presented through media as inherently sexual. This is why gay men experience it as well as gay women, why trans men, non-binary, and trans women also experience it. This is why the buck doesn’t stop at women. Misogyny, racism, transphobia, and homophobia all intersect in disgusting ways that effect everyone who’s a target.
am I saying it’s bad to vent about your experiences? FUCK NO. I’m saying it’s going to make you lonely when you divide your experiences from other people’s, especially when they relate. DONT MAKE YOUR LIFE HARDER BY SHUTTING OUT EVERYONE ELSE.
I don't think the "pay artists website is upset about having to pay artists" argument for Watcher is a very good. argument. They had a Patreon, people were literally already paying the artists. Adding another subscription service into an already saturated market full of overpriced subscription services is just. A bad business move. It's career suicide.
Everyone is struggling right now and I understand that that includes everyone at Watcher, but there had to have been a better idea than "lets start our own subscription service"
I seriously wish Ryan, Shane, and Steven the best but this is seriously gonna come back and bite them in the ass.
The worms were caused by this specific drawing. I meant for it to be normal fanart but halfway through the idea struck of "what if Bella were actually trans" and then this was birthed.
Made using Krita, with a pencil brush for line art, and chalk brush for that delicious chunky lighting I've grown so fond of. I wanted to try and make this a really easy piece by being a little more cartoonish in my proportions (bigger eyes, fluffy hair, cutesy poses) and it worked really well. While my Ripple AU captain took about a week working on it a little at a time while constantly referencing pictures of Chris Evans, this took only a day. From start to finish it was maybe only five hours?

it simply must be stated that trans men who present femininely on purpose have such a vibe about them
maybe it’s the confidence that requires, especially since I’ve seen a lot of men talking about how it still gives them dysphoria, but they just radiate this undefined swagger. Like.. rock on dude, I am in awe of your strength and dedication to your choice.
Apparently I pissed some people off with my arcane post which uh..
oops 🤷♂️
my post was specifically about the fact that people on Pinterest were fighting because they refused to think there was any single reason why people might dislike Caitlyn. It’s almost like my post kicked the dog and now they’re yelping or something
If you consume fanfic on ao3 and are 18+ and American I need you to lock in and call your senators saying you oppose a federal porn ban. This would effectively ban ao3 and being queer in public, among many other things, due to the intentionally vague language of the bill. I’m counting on queer tumblr and fandom tumblr to help me get the word out that you have to call your senators

original format from @ha-youwish in this post!
I know that a lot of people use fanfiction and fandom as an escape mechanism for the heavy things but please remember that those of us who can do that can only do it because we’re safe.
Please either donate or engage with the post in some way so more people see it, either way it genuinely does help in a meaningful way even if it doesn't feel like a lot
An older drawing based on an oc of mine https://www.instagram.com/p/CiINtMXO_Vo/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
10 year old Dick: "Bruce, when you get married, can I be the best man?"
Bruce: "Of course, chum."
---
12 year old Dick: "Hey Clark, do you think when you get married, I can be your best man?"
Clark: "I don't see why not."
---
25 year old Dick: "In my defence, I had no way of knowing you'd end up marrying each other."
And like, them apologizing doesn't change the stuff about Steven belonging to a homophobic church and using Watcher to promote it, and it doesn't change the employees and spouses going on Personal Attacks towarda upset fans on other platforms, it doesn't change the comments of "We love when people tell us we got them through hard times " in the same video as making it so people going through hard times jo longer have access to them as a respite. Removing the paywall doesn't change them, subconsciously or consciously, thinking of poor fans as Worthless and Lesser, and unless they actively work at dismantling these notions in their minds They'll Do It Again. They showed, very clearly, that Fans Are Numbers And Not People to them. That Fans are this abstract concept of Praise and Adoration and Money that exist just to serve their endeavors. That's not something you can change your mentality around in 3 days- that's something that needs Active And Purposeful Dismantling Within The Deeper Psyche. And to be quite frank I don't believe they'll be willing to do such work, because it's not Profitable to remember that Your Audience Is Real People, Not Numbers.
