Poison List

Poison list

While it's important to approach writing with creativity and imagination, it's crucial to prioritize responsible and ethical storytelling. That being said, if you're looking for information on poisons for the purpose of writing fiction, it's essential to handle the subject matter with care and accuracy. Here is a list of some common poisons that you can use in your stories:

Hemlock: Hemlock is a highly poisonous plant that has been used as a poison in various works of literature. It can cause paralysis and respiratory failure.

Arsenic: Arsenic is a toxic element that has been historically used as a poison. It can be lethal in high doses and can cause symptoms such as vomiting, abdominal pain, and organ failure.

Cyanide: Cyanide is a fast-acting poison that affects the body's ability to use oxygen. It can cause rapid loss of consciousness and cardiac arrest.

Nightshade: Nightshade plants, such as Belladonna or Deadly Nightshade, contain toxic compounds that can cause hallucinations, respiratory distress, and even death.

Ricin: Ricin is a potent poison derived from the castor bean plant. It can cause organ failure and has been used as a plot device in various fictional works.

Strychnine: Strychnine is a highly toxic alkaloid that affects the nervous system, leading to muscle spasms, convulsions, and respiratory failure.

Snake Venom: Various snake venoms can be used in fiction as deadly poisons. Different snake species have different types of venom, each with its own effects on the body.

Belladonna: Also known as Deadly Nightshade, Belladonna contains tropane alkaloids such as atropine and scopolamine. Ingesting or even touching the plant can lead to symptoms like blurred vision, hallucinations, dizziness, and an increased heart rate.

Digitalis: Digitalis, derived from the foxglove plant, contains cardiac glycosides. It has been historically used to treat heart conditions, but in high doses, it can be toxic. Overdosing on digitalis can cause irregular heart rhythms, nausea, vomiting, and visual disturbances.

Lead: Lead poisoning, often resulting from the ingestion or inhalation of lead-based substances, has been a concern throughout history. Lead is a heavy metal that can affect the nervous system, leading to symptoms such as abdominal pain, cognitive impairment, anemia, and developmental issues, particularly in children.

Mercury: Mercury is a toxic heavy metal that has been used in various forms throughout history. Ingesting or inhaling mercury vapors can lead to mercury poisoning, causing symptoms like neurological impairment, kidney damage, respiratory issues, and gastrointestinal problems.

Aconite: Also known as Wolfsbane or Monkshood, aconite is a highly toxic plant. Its roots and leaves contain aconitine alkaloids, which can affect the heart and nervous system. Ingesting aconite can lead to symptoms like numbness, tingling, paralysis, cardiac arrhythmias, and respiratory failure.

Thallium: Thallium is a toxic heavy metal that can cause severe poisoning. It has been used as a poison due to its tastelessness and ability to mimic other substances. Thallium poisoning can lead to symptoms like hair loss, neurological issues, gastrointestinal disturbances, and damage to the kidneys and liver.

When incorporating poisons into your writing, it is essential to research and accurately portray the effects and symptoms associated with them. Additionally, be mindful of the potential impact your writing may have on readers and the importance of providing appropriate context and warnings if necessary.

starting thinking some of these callouts for ai are made by people who just don’t write that much.

Em-dashes are some of the most common “odd” punctuation. Have a character with two last names? Two middle names? A street name? An interruption in dialogue? A mocking way to refer to something? A made up name for something? seriously these guys are annoyingly useful.

someone on twitter is trying to claim that use of an em-dash is an indication of AI-generated writing because it’s “relatively rare” for actual humans to use it. skill issue

just in case the wrong type of person (those who will absolutely use this as an excuse to physically harm, harass, or do unmentionable inappropriate activities to unwilling parties) sees this:

Your intent and diagnosis is an explanation but when someone does actually say “hey don’t do that” / “that makes me uncomfortable” / “please stop” YOU STOP. When people are SAYING and actually communicating with you to STOP that’s not something that’s vague or misunderstandable.

of course this doesn’t apply to the implications of people being uncomfortable, because that can absolutely be missed by anyone neurotypical, let alone anyone autistic. But I’m sick of seeing people use this as a scapegoat for straight up assault or harassing people. If people say stop and you don’t? You’re not just an asshole, you’re a freak who’s about to have no friends.

this post cannot apply when people tell you how to change.

I think some of you forgot that autistic people sometimes act strange and say things that are poorly worded and speak with incorrect tone and misunderstand or miss social cues because they are autistic

Holy shit. The Israeli whistleblower story CNN just broke is insane. I cannot believe what I’m reading

I feel I must inflict this insanity on other people because I’m genuinely so baffled by it,

I keep seeing this one woman on Pinterest claiming that any man using the words “pussy” or “cunt” in ANY way is sexist. And specifically she harps on trans men and non-binary people for using them. And I just-

I Feel I Must Inflict This Insanity On Other People Because I’m Genuinely So Baffled By It,

Why must cis women police the language trans men use for their bodies? Multiple people have confronted her about how trans men use it to refer to their own bodies and it’s still somehow sexist?

I fear certain cis woman feminists have lost the plot slightly

it’s so bizarre to me how quickly the acc and the scc (creators and consumers alike) will just switch the topic to someone else? Like, in Chuuli’s video about Kayden Monroe where they’re opening up about all the harm that man did, there’s comments saying that Chuuli needs to “get away” from Lio Convoy, ss if it doesn’t derail the conversation. Like yes yes, Lio Convoy has done terrible things, but you couldn’t wait to speak your piece on a different video? You had to dictate a creator’s relationship whilst they’re talking about how they were victimized? And in the video by Cope and Seethe that goes over the call between Mali-malware and Just A Robot, there’s fairly well known creators derailing the conversation to talk about someone else who happened to be in the call. Okay sure, let’s not talk about how the woman in the call was belittled and shouted over, let’s talk about The Unrelated Third Party who barely spoke three words in the hour long call. It’s just so bizarre how people insist that the people they dislike have to be at the center of the discourse, they can’t ever be second hand to the real issue. I guess this is prevalent in all communities but it seems rather prominent in art communities.

Speaking on Asian Hate

Hi everyone, I made this post today not to post a story. I came on here to speak on something that has been bugging me for months. And that is the 2000% increase in hate crimes targeted towards Asians. These hate crimes range from the disrespect of the elderly to shootings and murder. In the past half a year alone, over 3,800 Anti-Asian incidents have occurred. It hurts my heart to see that racism and xenophobia can lead someone to do such disgusting acts. I myself am not Asian, but I am poc so I know how it feels to be targeted for our culture. It hurts to see the pain and suffering the Asian community is going through due to the xenophobia and racism Covid-19 has instilled within society. These crimes started first towards Chinese people due to the heavily misguided belief that China is the cause of the pandemic. (When it was really America's lack of responsibility and a belief of self-entitlement to not follow government set safety guidelines, but that's a conversation for another day.) But due to misguided racism, this has spread to all Asian ethnic groups. The fact that people decide that they'll blame someone else for their hardships, and then generalize that to a whole race, and then decide to hurt someone due to the fact that you wouldn't fucking wear a mask.

If you listen to Kpop, watch anime, read manga/bl, watch k-dramas, eat Asian cuisine, or buy Asian-made products please speak on this. If you are gonna consume the products of Asia, then speak on the pain their people are going through right now. Even if you canf donate, or volunteer for anything, speaking on it helps just as much. Speak on it, please.

(If there is anyone Asian who sees something that I said wrong, please correct me.)

Sara's Response

I thought I was done, but I'm not I guess.

I couldn't figure out why her response rubbed me the wrong way, and then it hit me.

"People should be paid fairly."

She's talking to us. She's talking to the fans as if we're the greedy corporate boss who won't give her husband the $1 raise at the end of the year.

It's like they forgot THEY are the company. THEY are the CEOs. We're not. If people aren't being paid fairly, that's a company problem. Not a fan problem.

Even my little pony did “monstrous wolf” better how did vivzie screw this up so bad?

Loona’s feral form is so fucking horrible. It would’ve been so easy to make her look like an actual demonic hound instead of this furry abomination.

Loona’s Feral Form Is So Fucking Horrible. It Would’ve Been So Easy To Make Her Look Like An Actual

Vivziepop is so afraid of letting her female characters look monstrous or animalistic. They always have to be conventionally attractive regardless of what form they’re in.
