HELLO NEW PPL HI HOW ARE YOU?! I wanna try writing some lil fics again, but I don't know what to write about and I'm still kinda self conscious about my writing skills.

I'm SO SO SO very sorry that this took me forever, life is busy and I kept doubting my writing skills. Though I'm still not SUPER happy with it, I think it's okay considering this is only my second time writing a short fic. Please enjoy and thank you so much to @bloodysyren for requesting this!

Copia x Phantom ghoul

Prompt: Phantom is one of the newest ghouls to be brought to the ministry and he's feeling quite out of his element, but have no fear, Papa is here.

It's midday and the ministry halls are full of siblings and staff members, busy at work. Down past the Commons, to the end of a hall, is the room in which the ghouls reside. Most of them are practicing music for the Ghost project, but one ghoul in particular is missing. Out in the gardens, the fairly new quintessence ghoul hid amongst the bushes. When he first arrived, he was bright eyed and bushy tailed, excited to have a new family. He still was at heart, but his mind grew weary as of late. Everyone here was so well acquainted and got on well, however, he felt as though he didn't fit in. Earlier that morning, he had tried to make small talk with the other ghouls, but they'd basically brushed him off and gave him a pat on the head as if he were a child. 

I may not be an old geezer ghoul, but I'll be damned if I'm treated like a kit-

He thought as he picked leaves off of a bush, sending them into the air and watching them float back down to the ground. Even the newest ghoulette Aurora was getting on with the rest, and they weren't treating her with kids gloves! As Phantom fumed and went to pluck more leaves, a snap sounded behind him. Nearly jumping out of his skin, he turned to see a red tracksuit and panda eyes.

"Oh! Satanas little one, you scared me-" Copia held his chest dramatically, chuckling softly. 

Phantom grumbled,"I am NOT a little one!" He covered his mouth in shock. "Forgive me Papa, I did not mean to speak so rudely."

Copia let out another small chuckle, "No need to be so formal, it is my day off...", he showed off his casual wear, "and we're alone. Please, call me Copia."

 With an old man grunt, he sat down next to the ghoul. Looking up at the cloudy sky and then back down to give Phantom a sad smile. 

"Now, I know there is something wrong because this is MY something is wrong spot, so tell your Papa what is wrong." He placed his hand on his thigh and Phantom couldn't help the way his tail flickered happily.

"It's just... it's been a month since you so graciously summoned me, but I'm afraid I don't exactly fit in." His ears flattened slightly, his bottom lip jutting out. "I'm treated like a child and almost always excluded when the ghouls go out together..."

Copia frowned as he listened, his hand rubbing Phantom's back soothingly. He'd noticed how the ghoul had become less friendly and more quiet. Gently touching his chin, Copia turned his face towards him. Phantom faintly blushing at the gesture.

"I'm so sorry you have been feeling like this. I wish I would have known sooner, but I'm very happy you have told me now. You should tell the others how you are feeling. I know they seem like big, tough guys, but they are not meanies, I promise you. Okay, maybe Sodo can be a meanie, but he means well... most of the time."

They both laugh at the statement and Phantom smiles up at Copia. "Thank you Papa, er, I mean Copia. You're really the only person I've felt I could confide in since my arrival, though I hope after I talk to the others, that will change."

Copia grinned and softly brushed his thumb over Phantom's chin, "While I do hope your companionship with the ghouls works out, I wouldn't mind if you confided in me more often. I'm always here for you, my ghuleh."

Phantom's ears perked up and his tail swished from side to side, Copia smirked at his reaction and gently pulled him in, his breath fanned across the ghoul's face, his eyes closing before he felt lips planting a soft kiss on his cheek. Phantom unconsciously let out a whine of disappointment, and Copia couldn't help but laugh. 

"Consider my teasing your punishment for missing practice, if you're a good ghuleh there will be plenty more where that came from." With another grunt, he rose from his spot and dusted his pants off. He looked down at Phantom and offered his hand, pulling him up from the ground. 

"I- I promise, no more missing practice, and I'll talk to the ghouls, and I'll be good, and practice real hard- am I talking too much?" Phantom rambled excitedly, the light in his eyes sparkling again.

Copia stared affectionately and shook his head. "Of course not, I find your excitement quite endearing. Now let's get you back inside, eh?"

Still holding his hand, the pair walked back into the warmth of the building. Phantom looked at Copia and then down the hall towards the ghoul's den.

I think I'm gonna be just fine.
