If you have some money to spare today, please consider donating to @alaa-pales! Alaa is a young dental student trying to raise funds to evacuate with thirteen members of her family, including several children, one of which is a newborn, and one of which has Downs Syndrome, which has caused many complications with his heart and breathing due to increased anxiety.
Alaa’s campaign can be found on line 395 of Operation Olive Branch’s master list of verified campaigns, but Alaa has been having trouble getting much traction because both the fundraiser title and the link in OOB’s spreadsheet is outdated, making it harder to find Alaa in a search of the spreadsheet. If you go to the campaign linked in line 395, you find an old gofundme page of Alaa’s, with an update from a few days ago saying that the campaign would have to be refunded due to difficulties with finding a benefactor based in Australia. The update links to a new campaign created for Alaa, which is the same fundraiser that Alaa has been sharing here on tumblr. But the combination of difficulty finding Alaa on the spreadsheet to confirm that she’s been verified, along with the fact that even if you do find her, you’re led to the wrong gofundme, has made it very difficult for Alaa to raise any funds. She has so far only raised $120/$20k CAD.
Please, if you have anything to give, consider giving to Alaa and her family today.

a third-year IT student, 23 years old. My life has not been normal for a long time. Since the beginning of the conflict with the Israeli occupation, we have been living in a recurring cycle of displacement and fear. We have moved more than five times from one house to another, searching for a safe haven from the bombs that are falling like rain. Each time we hoped to find a place far from danger, but the war left no room for hope or education. However, I did not stop my will and ambition. I registered to study remotely because my university was destroyed by the occupation.
Eventually fate brought us back to our home, and we thought it would be our last resort. But one dark night, shells rained down on us, destroying our home and injuring me and my family.
The pain at that moment was indescribable, we didn't know if we would survive or just become another number in the death toll. At that moment I remember only one thing, the sound of the explosion, the sound of my brothers screaming, and fire everywhere. At that moment I fainted.
What happened next was that my family and I were transferred in extremely dangerous conditions to a hospital in the south of the Gaza Strip because the hospitals in the north had completely collapsed. My family described to me after that scene. The journey was full of death and fear, as if we were crossing a road covered in gunpowder and blood.
After that, we finally arrived at the hospital. After that, I woke up and found myself inside the hospital. I had undergone surgery to remove the iron fragments in my body, but unfortunately it was not successful as required. Some pieces were removed, and other pieces remained that were not removed due to the extreme danger and lack of a health system in the hospitals of the sector.
The doctors assessed my health condition and told my family that I must leave and receive treatment in another country, but leaving Gaza requires coordination for the exit and costs $7,000 per person. The cost of treatment, according to the doctors' estimate, is $3,000, meaning the total amount is $10,000. I know it's a large sum, but I have no other choice. Every passing moment brings me closer to death, and all I can do is ask for help, even if it's a little, in the hope that we will survive and get out of this ordeal.
Now I live in constant pain every day, and the shrapnel in my body reminds me every moment that I am racing against time. We must leave Gaza as soon as possible to have the operation and because the danger here never stops, and the bombing follows us everywhere. The more I feel the pain of the shrapnel that is still inside me, the more I insist on staying. We are in constant danger here and we desperately need to leave. Please help us, even if it is by sharing my story or a small amount, because any support may save our lives. Thank you and I hope you help, my friends. ❤️❤️❤️

Donations to Hani’s campaign have been slow for the last few days, so I will be doing a donation match for his GFM. I can match up to $160 USD (about €150).
If you donate to Hani’s campaign and send proof of your donation (via DM, as an ask which I’ll answer privately, or even in the notes of this post), I will enter you into a raffle to win a lil crochet heart made by me (they’re about the size of a palm, might be bigger or smaller depending on the yarn size I have at home)! For every €5 you donate, your name will be entered once.
Hani’s family is still trapped in Gaza, and as we witness the situation worsen by the day, it’s more crucial than ever to get them what they need. He is just over 60% of the way to his goal with €30.8k/50k! Let’s help him get all the way there. Here’s the link to his GFM:
I’ll keep you all updated on progress for the match, and pick a winner once we’ve reached our goal. Please donate what you can, reblog, and share his fundraiser with others! Let’s get Hani to his goal as quickly as possible.
