Iāve seen a lot of shipping discourse on here for Thunderbolts* and yes, I myself am an avid shipper. But for this movie, specifically, why canāt people just be friendsš
I thought the point of the film was to not fight mental illness alone, and the power of friendship and found family. And yes, that support can come from a romantic partner. But this movie was just the beginning of the journey, no oneās paired up yet. Even though I love a good romance, I need to see friendships on screen. I need to see platonic love. People need all types of love, not just romantic or sexual. People need a whole community.
This started cause I was scrolling through the Yelena aro/ace tag, and then people arguing that āitās just a character, I can ship them with anybodyā and then ābut youāre erasing aro/ace peopleā and then ābut aro/ace people can still date, and itās a spectrum, and what if sheās demisexual, etcā and ok: Is she aro, ace, queer, bi, straight, gay? I donāt know! She can be whatever you want! But let her have friends tooš Sheās had a history of having to kill her friends. She has trust issues. Your girl is in her mid-30s (if my calculations are correct - born 1988ish, TB is in 2027, -5 years for Snap) and has only ever had Natasha and that definitely wasnāt for long. Sheās been alone most of her life. Most of the characters have been. The point of the movie is that none of these characters ever really had friends and had to work together to realize itās better when you open up and trust people.
No one was paired up in this movie and it made me so happy because when has the MCU ever done that? Trust me. I love love. I love ships. But romance is not the end all be all.
Let Yelena (and all the thunderbolts) be saved by the power of friendships. Let them have a found family. At least for now. Weāll see where the MCU takes them.
my headcanon for those 14 months time skip is that they all invested in a dyson and a 10 step haircare routine
Ngl it is super cute that she was like āBrett, chase touched meā and he was immediately like āimma kill him.ā Goals.
"Dakota 'Taylors baby daddy'" i heart the producers of this show
Taylor's dad saying Dakota said he only met her three times and then pointing the finger at Taylor saying "he had sex with you. What does that say about you?". How, as a father, can you honestly come out and say that to your own daughter. Yes she may have been wrong, in your opinion, for sleeping with him even though they hadn't known each other for very long. But she is not the one to blame.
Dakota had been lying to her. He continued to lie throughout their relationship. And the moment Dakota realises that Mayci had contacted Jenna to clear the air, he then confesses to Taylor. That's a childish fucking move. It's not Taylor's fault at all just because she slept with him.
Dakota is also religious. Why is Taylor's dad pointing at her, saying "What does that say about you?" when both of them were involved? In this situation it was consensual between both of them, yet somehow you want to single out Taylor? Why not focus on the guy who was going back and forth between two women, lying to them, and continued to lie, until he realised he was trapped with no lie to save him.
Then when Taylor's brother started chiming in? Oh that annoyed me so much. Taylor is clearly upset and needs support. But somehow everyone seems to be defending Dakota. I'm sorry, did I miss something? No way in hell would I defend Dakota. Maybe he does change in the future, but at that point in time, I would not want to see his face and I would choose to support Taylor who is so clearly struggling.
Update: The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is BONKERS and as a radical atheist who hates organized religion, I'm hooked
WE WOOON. HE HAS THE HAIR šš
ADHD is do awesome because you have to tell yourself once every 17 seconds that the discomfort you feel during the creative process is, in fact, not a sign of failure, but your brain just having a temper tantrum due to a lack of instant gratification
SHEāS BALD! SHEāS BALD AND SHEāS TORTURING PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAIR
I donāt think Iāll ever be over the fact that Bucky was watching Sam on the news. Seeing him surf a missile, do all this crazy shit and didnāt move an inch because he knew sam could handle it.
But he dropped everything (RISKED MISSING HIS FLIGHT) and moved as quick as possible when Joaquin got hit because he knows what thatāll do to Sam.
He knows Sam can hold his own during the world saving shit, but itās during the quiet moments that Bucky knows heāll always be needed by Sam. And heāll oblige everytime without even thinking about it.
people who dont experience it cannot comprehend how awful executive dysfunction is. I WANT to do the task, i have the resources TO do the task, i will feel better having DONE the task
but i cant fucking do the task
honestly it's so wild to me that sam and bucky's relationship has gone through the development it has, to the point where it's unironically one of the healthiest relationships in the mcu. from the steering wheel incident in the winter soldier, to their incredible "asshole i'm forced to work together with" dynamic in civil war (best part of the movie ngl), to them truly working past their differences and genuinely growing to care about each other in tfatws.
and now they're at a point where bucky dropped everything to comfort sam when he needed it, and sam trusted him to be completely vulnerable with him. and of course the canon "i love you". it's incredible to see how far they've come and i can't wait to see more of their relationship in the future.
We go deal with that, and when we're done, we both can go on separate, long vacations and never see each other again. I like that. Great.

when there is one chapter left of the series but the author suddenly disappear
I think if you've created an elixir that turns people into goat men you have sort have gone past the need for a control group. The control group is not going to placebo themselves into goat men. You can probably not run the control group, and safely assume that none of them would have turned into goat men. That said, having a control group for that would make the mad scientist seem extra crazy and be really really funny, especially if he was carefully testing them for goat like features from the dyed water they drank instead of the elixir
Ok so with Bucky driving and crashing that van into a building in thunderbolts, Is it too much of me to ask/ imagine that:
Bucky just wordlessly takes the steering wheel with him after. Itās not like theyāll need it anyways, the vans likely not drivable after that, so Bucky just rips it off its hinges so casually and carries it with him out the van, leaving the rest of the thunderbolts kind of confused,
Because really, who just does that??
Bucky notices their confused faces, looks down at the wheel in his hand as if he hadnāt even realized heād done it, and just shrugs āoh, itās an inside joke.ā And we donāt get an explanation for it at all, very IYKYK
And the last scene in the movie is just bucky coming home to sam, āgot you a souvenir since you missed all the fun.ā
SOBBING he did the arm thing šš I love him so much it hurts
Doomsday could be shit and I wouldnāt even care as long as Anthony and Sebastian get to do press together
absolutely cracking me up that Florence in the new fandango TBolts cast interview talking about filming the scene with Sebastian on the motorcycle chasing them and how they have a take where Wyatt as John turns around and just cheerfully shouts āBUCKKKKKYYYYYYY!ā š¤£š¤£š¤£
John truly is Buckyās number one fan confirmed š
Once a hero, always a heroš¦¾
i love lesbians
History wants so badly for Cleopatra to be beautiful. Like they canāt conceive of Rome being intimidated by anything less
Honestly Sam and Buckyās journey in TFATWS goes from disdain to love because they spent the first part of it trying to see Steve in each other, and in turn resented each other when they didnāt succeed.
Bucky wanted to find Steve in the new Captain America. Sam wanted to find Steve in the 1940s super soldier. Neither of them succeeded and that bothered them. They wanted to replace what they lost.
āSteve had a planā
āSteve adored Marvin Gayeā
Then as the episodes progress, theyāre able to see each other as individual people (shock) for the first time properly and are able to realise like āhey, this guy isnāt Steve, but maybe heās something else thatās amazingā.
Bucky realised that as a black man, Samās experience on this planet shaped him differently to how they shaped a blonde haired, blue eyed Steve and he has to be so much more careful in becoming Captain America. Sam realised that Bucky never wanted the life he had like Steve did, and power and the life of a hero was forced upon him without his consent so he would never be the bright eyed, happy to learn/embrace anything man that Steve was and thatās okay. They both finally saw each other in that show.
we went from:
bucky: āif he was wrong about you then he was wrong about meā
to:
sam: āsteve made a mistakeā
bucky: āno he didnātā
AND NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
see the THING IS I don't feel like I ever worked hard enough to have "earned" the burnout, which is. probably how we got here.
TW: Pedophilia
Teenagers are rarely taught the reason why they can't consent to sex with adults.
And that's because teaching them that would completely unravel our coercion-based society.
It can be difficult to explain in detail the exact reason and all the specifics in a way that they will understand. But the simplest way to phrase it is that in some cases, even when someone agrees to something and even when they appear enthusiastic about it, there's too much of a power imbalance that it's no different than forcing them. Also, having power and being abusive doesn't require a conscious expectation to be obeyed.
Imagine a world in which every teenager understood that and was easily able to call out anyone who tried to convince them otherwise.
They'd know that there's no such thing as an employee consenting to working for a poverty wage, working in unsafe conditions, working long hours, or working without taking breaks. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to paying a bank overdraft fee. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to student loan debt. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to medical bills. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to generating profit for banks or landlords in order to have a place to live and being evicted or foreclosed when you lose your source of income. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to a police search. They'd know that there's no such thing as a child who's okay with their parents spanking them. They'd know that being dependent on someone does not mean that you can never criticize them. They'd know that if it's considered abusive to simply play along when someone obeys, then it has to be much more abusive to actively expect to be obeyed, which many adults do to them.
And people who benefit from a society based on coercion masquerading as freedom wouldn't like that.
So instead, teenagers are taught something dismissive. They're taught that what they want doesn't matter. They're taught that they're too young to know what love is. They're taught "it's the law". They're taught things that are insulting to their intelligence, which they'll naturally rebel against.
