I highly recommend inviting your friends to do randomly romantic & weird fun stuff. Invite them to a picnic at the park and show up with a kite. Throw tea parties with tiny finger sandwiches. Have a Crafts Day where everyone gets to decorate their own hats/accessories/teacups for future tea parties. Encourage shenanigans & surprises! Host a Costume Movie Night but put a different theme on each invitation (formal wear, pajamas, last year's halloween costume)! Drink sparkling juice out of champagne glasses during a Board Game Night where the winners have to speak in a character accent for the rest of the evening. Infinite possibilities, but it's your job to manifest them!

If you want a fun weird friend group, first you must encourage fun weirdness!!! Cultivate the garden you want to live in.

Okay, was anyone going to tell me that the trailer for season 4 of Carmen Sandiego had SO much (sexual) tension between Jules and Carmen like???

yeah...

I’m in a very unique situation where right now, I’m like SUPER lonely and let me tell you why. At the start of the pandemic I was living in another country, I had a lot of friends in high school, many of them were super close to me.

But in May I graduated and moved back to America where I don’t know anyone other than my immediate family, whom I am living with. I’m currently in college but all my classes are online so I don’t ever see anyone, I’m just reading textbooks and taking quizzes. Also since we are in a fricking pandemic all the club activities and sports that I usually would participate in are cancelled, i have legitimately zero interactions with people my age to make friends.

I am still keeping up with the friends from high school but they are spread out across multiple different countries now and seeing them in person just isn’t a possibility right now. I FaceTime them when I can but it’s not the same and I feel like I’m literally going insane I’m so touch starved.

This coming semester I’m hopefully going to get a job so maybe I’ll make friends there, and I’ll be moving onto campus in the summer, so I know this loneliness won’t last indefinitely, but it sure damn hurts hella bad right now. Anways, if y’all have any advice on how to make friends during this weird time, let me know, any and all advice is appreciated.

My friend that I have a crush on, who also lives across the country, told me she was feeling down and I immediately bought her a gift (one of those moon lamp things) and sent it to her. The shame culture among Christians about having sex before marriage and only accepting abstinence forces young couples to get married younger, before they’re ready. Sex is a main part of relationships, and young people feel like they can’t have it til they’re married so they get married earlier.

This causes people to marry hastily and can put them through unnecessary hardship like financial issues and emotional issues.

(Said in that guy’s voice that did all the commercials in the late 90s and early 00s)

Just realized that white Christians don’t tend to understand privilege well because they blame every advantage they have (staying safe around cop, getting jobs, not getting hate crimes, getting good salaries, etc) as a blessing from God.
