This was a drawing I did last year for an Art Jam where you had to draw your characters as if they were in an animation screenshot. So, I decided to draw Greg and Chad as if they were in a vintage commercial advertising Twinings Tea. This was a very fun project, I used actual photos from online for the furniture and Twinings tin.
Here’s some drawings that I did a while back of my OC, Arthur McBride. The cartoon with his name as the title was the first cartoon that I stuck with for years. My style for these characters used to be different years ago, but I think this midcentury modern one was an improvement.
Anyway, this series was based on an actual Irish folk song about a man named Arthur McBride and his cousin who are confronted by a Sergeant of The British Army who ended up trying to force them to enlist. The song ended with a cliffhanger, but I thought hey, what if The Sergeant did end up forcing them into the Army and then Arthur tries to get The Sergeant to boot him out by driving him insane.😆 I then ended up adding a couple more friends for him, a rival, and added more to the stories as well. I originally had them in an all cartoon animal universe, but then I changed it, and now there are humans in the universe as well.
It’s too cold for my grail quest 😭

My two last neurons, I love them dearly
This is a redraw of an old idea I had for an Arthur McBride t-shirt design. Would be cool to make t-shirts with this design if my cartoon ever became a popular series.
On the second slide is the old version I did years ago. I never even got around to coloring the original. The ink got a little bit smudged too.
Arthur is ticking off The Sergeant, who is one of the main antagonists from my cartoon, Arthur McBride. John Jenkins and Darby are both worried for Arthur, knowing that he is probably going to get clobbered.😆 Angus on the other hand can’t help but chuckle to himself. He takes pleasure in seeing Arthur irritating The “Ol’ Haggis”.
This is a drawing I did not too long ago of the main trio of a 1960s themed cartoon segment I came up with called The Mod Trio. The nutty, tea crazed squirrel is Greg Buxton, the moody mole and un-proclaimed leader of the trio is Chad Chadwick and the shy, soft spoken cat in the kilt is Alistair Duncan. He’s the only one out of the three who’s Scottish, the other two are British.
Posted a colorized version and a black and white version, which I made by using a filter.
