DRAGON AGE: THE VEILGUARD (2024) — GAMEPLAY REVEAL
on a second DA:I playthrough i’m noticing so much more foreshadowing in companion/advisor dialogue of how cadash/adaar/lavellan/tracelyan as a person HAS to be obliterated by the inquisition as a political, religious, and narrative force and the title of inquisitor.
mother giselle tells you from the beginning it doesn’t matter what you believe about being/not being the herald; you are an icon to the common people and the chantry.
josephine tells you after the truth about “andraste”/justinia is revealed in the fade—it doesn’t matter what you saw or felt, only what is remembered collectively.
dorian tells you if you ask to go with him to tevinter—you can never undo being the inquisitor, and would take away his agency just by being there.
varric tells you in haven that you’re a tragic hero, and asks at the wicked grace game if there is still a “you” separate from the inquisitor.
solas tells you in skyhold, if you tell him you intend to disband the inquisition, that the power you’ve amassed can’t be destroyed, and will only pass to less worthy hands if you relinquish it.
and all of that is just off the top of my head and comes up before ameridan’s name is ever mentioned.
and it’s all been said before but like! fuck! truth is the game was rigged from the start! you’ve been COOKED, inquisitor! YOU CAN NEVER GO HOME! it’s so fucking good
TEMPLATE - THE LOVERS.
was asked by anon a while back to attempt my own ship template and I tried my best with it. it’s not much, but sometimes simple is nice. hope it’ll get people messaging y’all about your ships <3 and since i think everyone loved the card type template, I added it here. as always, fully customizable.
please like/reblog if you use! reblogs are very appreciated.

TOLKIENVERSE ↳ High Queen of the Noldor — Antariel
She was born as Cîneth to Lord Taethon and Lady Almanis of the Sindar, and raised in the great Kingdom of Doriath. She was a quiet yet happy child but she later grew sorrowful and fearful in nature, plagued by dark foresight and dreams.
After the Second Kinslaying in Doriath, she fled to the Mouth of Sirion with the survivors of the massacre, having lost her father and brother to the Noldor. However, during the War of the Wrath, many Elves banded together, regardless of old differences and she encountered the High King of the Noldor, Erenion Gil-Galad. Overcoming animosity, she grew to love the Noldorin King and he took her to wife in the Year 95 of the Second Age — and bestowed the Quenya name, Antariel, on her.
Antariel remained Gil-Galad’s wife and queen for the entirety of the second Age, until his death, three thousand years later, at the hands of Sauron. She was known for her political intellect and compassionate nature, yet she often seen as a mournful figure but she only confided her dark dreams to her husband. After Gil-Galad’s death, she remained a mentor to Elrond in the beginning of the Third Age but grief overcame her and she faded away in the Year 398 T.A.
My thoughts on every faction in Veilgaurd:
Grey Wardens - probably a lot of people are gonna chose this faction for their rook, purely becuase of nostalgia and just how attached we dragon age fans are to the wardens. Should be very interesting to see what happens to them after the entire corypheus fiasco
Antivian Crows - same as the wardens, lots of nostalgia and warm feelings about this one, cuz i love zevran (despite never romancing him LMAO). Im really looking forward to how antivia and their assasins wil fit into this story. Also, feels like a perfect faction for a rouge
Shadow Dragons - Slave Liberation? Fighting against an ancient corrupt regime? TEVINTER?! WHERE DO I SIGN UP
Veil Jumpers - Im always down for some ancinet elven ruins and more fade lore... espeically if im right and this faction will be closely related to solas and elves plotline, more then any other faction
Lord of Fortune - dont know if this is a hot take or not, but this is probably the one faction im least interested in, mostly cuz im not that into treasure hunter concept... but hey, this rook will be from Rivain, i think? (correct me if im wrong) So, in that aspect, im really looking forward to seeing and learning moe about Qunari territory
Mourn Watch - more interesting to me then lords to me on conceptual level, but i dont have that much to say about it, other then "Necromancy? from Nevarra? oh, thats pretty cool!"
As for the faction for my own rook, ill probably chose Shadow Dragons or Veil jumpers - dragons cuz slave liberation, veil jumpers cuz elf lore and maybe Solas
