2 pages from the graphic novel that is currently brewing besides the Zelda zine. Catching a rhythm with color at last.

Color is always really challenging for me, and always feels so daunting, specially when it comes to the first pages. This project is really special and the want to get it “perfect” can fill one with doubts. I found myself doing minimal color changes, that were barely noticeable to the first batch of pages instead of advancing just for fear of screwing it up. I figured that if i kept down that road I wouldn’t be able to stick to the planned schedule. Now I’m finally able to not be so hard on the results and focus on going forward despite the doubts.

But lets tell you a little more about the characters!

The lady in blue is Severine, a young girl who as an amateur naturalist has a small collection of specimens at her attic. She’s noticed that some of them are gone, the salamanders in particular. Usually is her little sister, Elisa the one that messes around with her stuff, but the little demon insists in her not being the culprit this time.

Last illustration I did of these two didn´t click and came out too dark on print. Drew this one right afterwards, and squeezed some time yesterday to finally add some color to it.

Since Howl and Sophie have a son named Morgan in the books, it would be funny if little baby Morgan picked up some of Howl’s bird mannerisms. Like, imagine Sophie prepares to feed baby Morgan, and he does the baby bird thing where he just sits with his mouth open waiting for a spoonful of food.

I didn´t know they ended up having a child in the books ahaha. I kinda picture the baby as a human-bird hybrid . This hole theory reminds me of Sacred bodies comic by @sticksandsharks in which a bird like species is featured. There were a bunch of baby bird like creature stickers from that going around tumblr a while ago. They were super cute, that´s how I picture Morgan looking like.

I’m not sure if you still do Howl’s Moving Castle art, but imagine if Howl ended up getting soaked by rain in his bird form, and then when Sophie dries him off with a towel, he ends up poofing up and looking like a silkie chicken

Lol that´s a very good idea, I´d love to turn that into a short comic at some point, thank you for sharing it! it immediately made my brain go berserk, so much so that I scribbled a rough storyboard for it. It´s very rough and quality is trash, but it´s better than nothing. Reading order is left column of pannels down, then right one.

Zelda zine update: Inking is all done finally, there’s some line weight issues to tweak and add greys, it going to take a while, but it’ slowly moving towards completion

Slowly finishing pages for the zelda zine. Changed the ending and that means extra 17 pages to get done. So here you have a sneak peek of one of the “stories” in which is fitting to say how the turns have tabled

Even though the stories are basically just silly nonsense I wanted to have a satisfying ending that binded all of them together, thus the change

Been working on this silly joke. I wanted to make a zine out of it, but I donno anymore. The watercolors seem to have lost a lot of saturation while scanning.

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier, I´ve been quite busy lately so I´ve been pushing anwering for later because and I wanted to reply with a drawing of your suggestion because...it´s an awesome/fun idea, but I wasn´t able to squize in the time to do it. So they split, but their bodies are very unstable separated, so they have to fuse again at some point or they die. That’s the au lol

Guess who binge read Glass scientists comic...so Hyde in fancy vest because I happened to see @leonenjoyer69 suggestion and love the acting in the comic. It needs an animated show, now.

Another week another fandom, it´s not been but three weeks since i binge read dungeon meshi too and it´s all tumbler´s fault!! ahahaha

Funnily enough I´m working on a graphic novel set in 1890s in Santiago de Compostela, with science and weird magical/ local folklore stuff surrounding the story. The main character is a girl obssesed with science and Charles Darwin that completely dismisses the supernatural. Maybe one day I´ll show you a glimpse of her and her wacky little sister XD

The plan is 4 books, I know, how delusional is that? first one is fully drawn and now I´m currently dealing with the inking which is been slow... Color is going to be death.

I´m working towards having it published on my region's dialect/language, and I´ve been weighing out the possibility of sharing an english version online, on a web of it´s own or even tumblr, but I´m really bad at promoting stuff and have no clue about how many of you people that follow this blog will be interested. First part is kinda childish, but it gets darker as the following parts move on, so i donno, if people would stick around. So I guess the only way of finding out is slapping folks with pages as cheese slices slap unsuspecting cats.
