There's a super famous singing festival in italy that airs for a week every year. This year, one of the singers, Ghali, did some very remarkable things on that stage. Ghali was born in Italy from Tunisian parents, his career has been going on for a while, but this was his first time on that stage.
He made a song where he references Palestine where he sings: "how can you say everything is fine down here, where in order to trace borders with imaginary lines you bomb an hospital, for a piece of land or for a piece of bread there is no peace" . He also did a medley, singing also in arabic for the first time in the history of the festival.
Last night, during the final, he ended his performance asking to "stop the genocide!" I don't have to tell you that there's absolutely nothing pro-Palestine on italian media... and he used the biggest stage he could use to say that.
Today on a tv programme he was accused by the Isra*li ambassador of spreading hate and violence, to which he replied with those words in the following video (credits to the person who translated it here):
The italian TV broadcaster quickly posted a press release to distance themselves from this speech and to reiterate their whole support to Isr*el lol Towards the end of this tv programme, a few hours after Ghali said what you can hear in this video, they read the press release out loud. This is how Isra*li propaganda works everywhere, thanks to the complicity of our governments.
Just want to post about him because he really risked it all and I appreciate him incredibly for everything he did...if only everyone could do the same. And fuck italy and its fascist government.
Here's the point! They are all trying to get the word out in English for the world to hear, see and help them. Besides, they are all very young and have to deliver news like this. At a time when teenagers their age are having fun going to clubs and whatnot, meanwhile they (motaz and another journalist in Palestine) have to deliver the genocide that is happening in their country, in their homeland.
I'm sure we all know this, but some of you are still reluctant to talk about Palestine, still reluctant to stand up for Palestine.
fuck israel, israeli, joe biden, Netanyahu!!!
Look at all the shit Israel has done compared to Palestine.
Do you think that all of Palestine are the terrorists? Or are you human?
Hey guys remember Nazi-era caricatures.
Good morning. This might be my last message from the city of Rafah. The occupation [Israel] is carrying out crazy fire. Violent belts. As you’re hearing, there are helicopters. Planes and gunfire from the vehicles. There’s a complete invasion of the city.
We don’t know what is going on in Rafah. The place that the occupation [Israel] claimed to be safe. This is happening all of a sudden; the people didn’t go out. They didn’t do anything. More than thirty targets were hit in just minutes. People were asleep. We woke up to the bombing, to the shooting from the helicopters. It was horrifying. Unacceptable. This might be my last message. Please relay it to the world.

Rafah was Palestinians’ very last safe zone. There is quite literally nowhere else left to go. And now it’s being bombed with airstrike after airstrike.

The IOF is perverse, depraved, and sadistic.

Ah for sure the metaphors is simpler than the situation and but for clarification the carving out part I’m mostly referencing the colonisation of Palestinian land that took place after both states were established out of the Ottoman Empire/British protectorate. Plus while there are different definitions of Zionism the philosophy being pushed by the people in charge of Israel right now and what a lot of people seem to be consciously or unconsciously legitimising holds that Israel must take over the entire area and palestine has no right to exist and Palestinians have no right to live there.
( I’d love a equitable one state solution but I don’t see it realistically happening this century given the amount of blood spilled so a roughly equal sized/resourced two state with free movement might be the best we’d see in our lifetimes)
so I had a whole, far more elaborate response on the day you sent this- and then trying to post my internet cut out and the whole write up was lost, and I just don’t have energy to reproduce it
In short summary - I agree with much of what you’ve said here, the variety of views in Zionism is important and key to progress moving forward, and particularly within Israel, supporting leftist, pro-peace, groups is important
I think peace - whatever form it takes, whether it’s two state, one state, whatever - is a long way off, and there’s gonna be a lot of in between stages, and we have to be okay with those in between stages.

Guess what colours Palestine is?
:
In multiple statements over the past 24 hours, US officials have made clear that they will take no action against Israel no matter how many civilians it massacres in its planned assault on Rafah, where one million displaced people are sheltering. These statements effectively give Israel a blank check to commit unrestrained war crimes in its assault on the city.
Hi! I run @kyra45 where I’ve been posting about this scammer for days now but I’ll go ahead and make a warning over here as well but please refer to the post below for any recent urls and updates:
Currently, there is a scammer (or scammers) using the information off two fundraisers as their own and doing it at such a rapid pace that it’s difficult to keep track of them sometimes and they block anyone who calls them out and hides reblogs too much like the pet scammers who do a similiar thing of stealing someone’s fundraiser as their own.
One of the accounts is khalilhan. Referring to my other blogs post, the fundraiser they’re stealing from is link in it. They are not affiliated with the one who is running the fundraiser and nothing given to them is going to go towards supporting someone in need. It’s just a scammer taking profits off the situation without caring about what they’re doing.
They’ve been at this since the start of February, and haven’t shown any signs of stopping even with a post showing proof that they are stealing from a real fundraiser. Unfortunately they’ve been spamming asks and also have already been getting donations from users who weren’t aware of their scam. If you donated to any account listed below, please be aware these are all scam accounts and nothing sent is going to someone who needs it. This is just known accounts and more are popping up even with some of them gone.
Please do your research and check the legitimacy of fundraisers you might come across. Usually there are ways to verify their legitimacy and there is links out there that lead to legitimate resources that have been proven to work. If something feels suspicious, you can always ask around and see if anyone has any information too.
These accounts below are scammers; Most of them are gone now but my linked post above updates as needed.

Palestinians are struggling right now so yall could help them out
Just found this on Pinterest. It's horrible.
After what happened during the super bowl, where those Deranged Dogs has the audacity to air an ad while bombing the refugee tents, its understandable that people would be blinded by fury. But if there's something that you may want to look forward to, to channel that anger, i want to remind you of this.
February 19, 2024. Another hearing. The fight still goes on.
Will this one make a huge change? No one knows. One thing we know is the fight is not over yet. We're still fighting. There are leaders who also fight.
Its not over, not until Palestine is free. Not until Sudan is free. Not until Congo is free. Not until Yemen is free. Not until colonialism, genocides, and zionism got dismantled and buried forever.
Don't quit. Don't give up. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever.
If anyone's up for amplifying the word on the genocide in Gaza , here's a few Instagram accounts you have GOT to add to your follow list!

When I try modernizing Palestinian cuisine, I am not trying to make it acceptable to people. When I think of a dish, I don’t ask myself: “Is this gonna please the Europeans or the Americans or the Chinese?” I try to create a dish that is respectful of the flavors, and that has an identity that is very much mine. For instance, I love working with freekeh and I know you hate it. Still in my set menu, I try to force down your throat some freekeh. You know I could make an effort when ì know you’re coming over for dinner and not cook it but if I happen to have a vegetable that works well with it, well I still cook freekeh, whether you like it or not! Don’t forget, cooking is a magic act, a sacred moment. This is why I am in the kitchen. I was recently speaking to Paris-based Japanese writer, Ryoko Sekiguchi, and we came up with this concept of “cooking of light,” “la cuisine de lumière”) [”hikari no ryôri”] and she linked it to another concept that she came up with Japanese chef Shûichirô Kobori, namely “cooking of prayer,” “la cuisine de prière” [”inori no ryôri”]. Cooking is a sacred moment of intimacy and of creation, which requires respect. We have such particularities in our kitchen, that we should be putting forward and that we should be protecting from all those coexistence and peace initiatives, which are not really about peace and coexistence. Peace is about justice. When sometimes people ask me: “Would you work with an Israeli chef?” I say: “My conditions if an Israeli chef wants to work with me are that she or he has to accept a Palestinian state with the 1967 borders, accept Jerusalem as the capital of two states, accept the right of return of Palestinians refugees. If there is a resolution that is just to our rights as Palestinians of course I will work with an Israeli chef.” But as long as there is no justice and equality there’s no way I could work with an Israeli chef.
looking at (vetted) gofundmes for people trying to escape palestine and i don't know how many of you actually click on the gofundme links you reblog but i would like to point out, for what it's worth, just how amazing it is that so many have raised so much money. it may overall feel like a drop in the ocean but the fact that several gofundmes have raised tens of thousands of dollars is amazing. it is so expensive to leave gaza right now, and people still need money after they escape. but regardless of what propaganda the US, UK, canada, and other western nations are trying to pump out, people across the world are doing what they can to help these people survive. many of them are still very far from their goals (like this one and this one and this one) and some of them are very close to high goals (like this one), and some of them have reached almost double their original goal.
and that's not even addressing direct aid or organizations that take continuous donations for distribution of food, menstrual products, etc. the PCRF has raised $16,000,000 of their target goal of $20,000,000 to fund current aid and long-term relief efforts in gaza. ANERA's febuary 13th update discusses the material ways they helped palestinians today:
(ANERA donate link)
my point is, it often feels like the world is turning a blind eye to palestine. but i would like to point out that there is an important difference between "the world" and "western political leaders and media narratives". a breathtaking amount of real people, the people who make up the world, are trying to help. in the face of israel attempting to commit genocide, the world is saying No. These people deserve to live. and literally sending millions of dollars internationally, through the internet connection that israel has desperately been trying to destroy.
it may not feel like it matters in the grand scheme of things. but to the people who get fresh clothes, or a hot meal, or blankets, or the kids who get new toys, or to the people who are able to bring their families to safety, it matters to them. go make someone's day better. i've linked so many options with ways to do that.
They have unspoken Gorillaz energy and I’ll die on this hill ugh
i love this idea @labrabeet @tmntaucompetition
Remember.
Gaza, palestine is not a trend.
Don't stop talking about it once the strike ends.
A Palestinian child's plans after the war
She wrote
1) 30 days delivery
2) watch the TV and stay up and eat all that I want
3) go wherever I want
4) talk with my father for hours everyday
5) buy a lot of cute clothes
6) travel insha'Allah and see my dad
7) convince my dad to travel to uncle Mostafa and uncle Mohammed
8) go out of gaza and go to Switzerland
In the end she wrote:
* insha'Allah my plans happen*
Her name was sila and she will never see those plans achieved because she was killed like many PALESTINIAN children .
End this genocide
And free Palestine 🇵🇸🇵🇸
