Whatever happens this Thursday/Friday, for me Bobby will always be alive and buddie will always be canon

It fucking pisses me off that people keep trying to paint Eddie as abusive, even though he’s proven over and over again that, no matter how angry he gets, he would never actually hurt anyone. Even at the peak of his grief — completely furious — he still held back his emotions. And still, people label him as abusive, while other characters have acted out and didn’t get nearly the same backlash.

No one called Bobby abusive when he shoved Buck.

No one called Buck abusive when he sprained Eddie's ankle.

So why is it different when Eddie puts a hand on his shoulder and points at him? Why are those considered less intense than a hand on the shoulder and a finger?

And no — even though he was grieving, I don’t think Eddie was right to take it out on Buck like that. He doesn’t think so either. That’s why later he says, “I heard some dick (he) was pissing you off.” He knows he crossed a line with Buck.

In my opinion, the problem at that moment was that Eddie needed Buck — he needed them to share their grief, to support each other. But Buck was so focused on trying to “fix things” that he didn’t realize grief isn’t something you fix — it’s something you feel. And that frustrated Eddie because all he really wanted was to be with his partner. (It honestly reminded me of when the same thing happened with Hen and Karen.)

Every single fight they had has come down to a lack of communication, a lack of expressing their feelings — and the explosion that follows.

Were Eddie actions okay? In my opinion, no. But it doesn't mean he's abusive. He’s grieving. Just like Buck. Just like everyone else. People grieve in different ways.

Honestly, if you consider him abusive while thinking other characters’ actions were justifiable, then I have news for you — it’s kinda clear why you think that.

And I can’t deal with people using such a serious issue just because of a ship war.

my favourite buddie moment changes day-to-day honestly. but one that always, always takes my breath away. that i think about so much. is that moment, post-tsunami. in buck's loft. where buck is struggling to understand why eddie would ever trust him to watch christopher again. because part of him is still there, in that water. frantically searching for chris, calling his name. thinking i lost him, i lost him, i lost him. and eddie just says. you saved him. and buck still fights him on it. but then eddie holds buck's shoulder and searches for him. in that water that buck's still wading through. seeks out buck's gaze until buck properly looks at him. and you can see the moment buck does. not via buck but via eddie's expression. because eddie's eyes say. there you are, i've got you, now hear this. and only then does he say "there's nobody in this world i trust with my son more than you" what the FUCK eddie diaz. it makes me ILL.

Also, if your reaction to Buck and Eddie's fight last night is to label Eddie an "angry man" but you put no such label on Buck after he purposefully slammed Eddie to the ground and then laughed about it with Tommy afterwards in 7x04, then you really need to think about why your read on both characters is so different. And I need you to really, really think about it if your reaction to Chim in 8x16 was also to think that he was suddenly this violent and scary person (which I saw).

Eddie did not hit or hurt Buck physically last night. But Buck literally sent Eddie to the hospital in 7x04. Eddie is currently grieving his father figure and mentor. In s7, Buck was jealous of Eddie and Tommy's friendship but was otherwise emotionally stable. And yet...Buck is still just a playful puppy who gets frustrated sometimes. But Eddie is an angry, abusive man who needs to get beaten up because he dared to put his hand on Buck's lily-white shoulder in anger.

You have to allow characters of color to experience and express the same dark emotions that you accept from white characters. When you say that Chim's outburst in 8x16 makes him unqualified to be captain while ignoring that Bobby has punched perpetrators and destroyed property at scenes in anger, you're creating a double standard. When you see Eddie get angry in one scene and write him off as an abuser but treat Buck's actual violent outbursts as understandable frustration, you are perpetuating harmful racist stereotypes that hold men of color to vastly different standards than white men. And you need to stop.

buddie first kiss being them extremely happy that bobby's alive. buck is so so happy and smiling going for a hug with eddie and eddie is so so happy and fond of buck he just places his hands on buck's face and kisses him hard. they're both in shock about bobby and about the kiss but they're so so happy they can't stop smiling so they have to stop kissing so they just hug and touch foreheads. they're just so so happy.
