Bad Coffee Leads to Love

One-Shot: I saw Jurassic World and just completely fell in love with Lowery. Can you do a one shot about him liking you but he doesn’t think you know he exists please? Thank you! Announcement: Sorry this took so long to get out! I hope you enjoy :-) Warnings: Mild language.

A loud yawn escaped your mouth as you stretched out your cramped limbs. Sitting in a chair all day and staring at multiple computer screens was starting to take its toll. Pushing yourself off of your chair you decided that it was time for another cup of the liquid consciousness that was coffee. Inside the small break room you made for the coffee machine. Apparently everyone else had the same idea because the was a line starting to form. You sighed and plopped down into one of the few chairs left, rubbing your tired eyes. It was almost the end of your shift and you were thankful.

You were suddenly brought out of your thoughts when someone gently placed a hot cup of office brand cruddy coffee in front of you. Looking up you saw a brown haired guy who worked here as well, Lenny? Or was it Larry, you couldn’t quite remember, which you felt bad about at this moment.

You looked him in the eyes, “Is this for me or are you taunting me? Cause if you’re taunting me, I might have to kill you.”

His eyes went wide for a second until he realized you were joking and sat in the empty plastic chair next to you, “Uh, no, i- it’s for you. The line is really long so I thought I would grab an extra one.”

You smiled, “Well, thank you. Aww, man, now I feel bad. I can’t quite remember your name.”

He kind of shrugged it off, like he got that a lot, “That’s ok, my names Lowery.”

“Well, Lowery,” you stuck out your hand, “I’m Y/N. Nice to formally meet you. And thanks so much for the coffee. I was about to fall alseep!”

He chuckled, “Yeah, I know how that can be.”

“Wouldn’t give it up for anything in the world, though.”

“Oh, no way! Dinosaurs are amazing!”

“They are!” you paused and looked over at him, “Wait, don’t you have all of those little figurines on your console?”

“Yeah… I- I know it’s weird but-”

“Well of course it’s weird! But that’s the cool thing about it!”

Lowery looked up at you and smiled with relief, “Really?”

“Heck yeah!” You said, taking another drink of coffee.

There were a few moments of silence between the two of you, just sipping coffee under the fluorescent lightbulbs.

After a while, Lowery spoke up, “Hey, Y/N, I-I know I haven’t actually spoken to you before now but,” he took a shaky breath before continuing very quickly, “It’s just that I’ve seen you around the office and you’re really pretty and I was wondering if you would go to dinner with me or maybe coffee I don’t really know but I understand if you don’t want to and-”

You quickly cut him off, “Lowery. You seem like a really cool guy. Yeah, we can go to dinner.”

He stared at you, a little shocked at first, but then started smiling, “Really?”

“Yeah,” you said, “I think it would be really nice. Maybe not tonight but this weekend?”

“Ye-Yeah! Sure, of course, thank you so much!”

You chuckled and stood up, your break now over. Grabbing a napkin and a pen, you wrote your number on it and gave it to him, “Here, we can text later. I’ll be looking forward to it, Lowery.”

With that you tossed your now empty cup into the garbage and went back to your station. Lowery meanwhile just sat in his chair with the napkin in his hand.

Saying to no one in particular, “I really freakin love this job!”

One-Shot request: It’s like an AU, with Cap training Pietro Maximoff and Pietro is acting all cocky and Cap is trying to control him, pulling Pietro by the ear when he gets annoying. Smoke filled the room, the only lights were randomly placed and dim. A certain Avenger was crouched down and peering through the smoke. He saw movement to the left, and then the right. The smoke started swirling around him, getting faster and faster. Within the smoke he saw flashes of blue and silver. The Avenger smiled and stood up, his plan had worked and the streak of blue and silver had ran right into his trap. Captain America pressed a button on a remote he had in his pocket and stood still. The motion sensors in the training room focused themselves on the streak and fired their rubber bullets. They would hurt but they wouldn’t kill, after all, this was only training. The streak was hit multiple times and slowed down. Pietro came to a jogging stop as the large fans begin blowing away the smoke and looked around with a smirk. Steve Rodgers pulled off his mask and furrowed his eyebrows at Pietro, “What are you smiling at?” “It was just a lucky shot. I’m too quick to be caught off guard that often. It’s a one in a million chance that it would happen in a real fight,” Pietro scoffed and shook out his legs only to see Cap still staring at him. “What?” Steve gritted his teeth slightly, “Kid, I know your speed gets you out of a lot of trouble, but acting cocky doesn’t help anyone with anything. Start acting serious.” The Maximoff chuckled and started zipping around Captain America, “I don’t need to act serious when no one can catch me.” Steve sighed and pushed the button again, and again the little projectiles bounced off of Pietro in multiple directions. “Ow! Ok, what was that for?” “Listen, I know you may be fast but things are going to happen that will catch you off guard and you won’t always have your speed. I don’t entirely rely on my shield, I have more resources to pick from in case I don’t have others,” Steve looked at Pietro in the eye. “We train for a reason, ok? It’s my job to make sure that you all have the correct skills to replace the Avengers and to do that you need to take these sessions seriously or you or your team members could and probably will get hurt.” Pietro evaded eye contact, images of a hurt Wanda flashing through his head, finally nodding his head. “Ok, I got it. You’re right.” Captain America smiled slightly, “Now, let’s try again, and remember, you always have more than one tool in the toolbox.” Pietro stared at Cap, trying not to laugh at how much of an old guy saying just came out of his mouth. And then he realized that Cap is an old guy and laughed a little harder. “What?” asked the Avenger asked suspiciously. “It’s just that, well… nothing, its nothing.” “Uh huh, well, let’s push that nothing away and get back to work,” Captain America turned around and Pietro let out a chuckle as smoke again began to fill the room. Pietro let out a chuckle and went back to the starting position. This time using more than one tool.

You changed out your Science books for English and slammed the locker door shut, revealing the puppy dog face of your older brother. Not the werewolf puppy dog kind, but the kind where he puffs out his lower lip and looked at you with round eyes.

You looked at him, “Hello, Scott, what do you want?”

“I love you too,” he replied, “Why do you think I need anything?”

“Scott please, have some faith in me.”

“All right, so here’s the deal, Kira and I have plans for a really nice night, I’m taking her out to that really nice restaurant, y'know, downtown? It took me two weeks to get a reservation, but anyways, then I’m taking her to a movie and I’m paying and anyways, it’s going to be really nice and-”

“Scott, I’m going to be late for class at the rate you’re going. Please, just get to the point.”

He slid himself in front of you and grabbed you lightly by the shoulders, smiling a cheesy smile, “See the thing is that, I have a shift tonight at the clinic and I need you to cover for me.”

You groaned, since you worked with your brother at the clinic and since you were single you had always gotten stuck with taking his shifts whenever he had a date. You didn’t have to take these shifts obviously, but you really couldn’t say no, he always had good excuses.

“Please? You would be the best little sibling in the entire world and I would love you forever.” he said, his eyes growing big.

You stopped walking in front of your english class, other kids pouring in around the two of you, “Ugh, fine. But you have to bring me back left overs when you’re done. Now move.”

He smiled and let you go, “Thank you so much. I promise I’ll make it up to you. Later!”

You huffed and made your way into the classroom without replying.

The air smelled like disinfectant and medical instruments as you wiped down the main examination table and other surfaces in the room. Today had been a very long day for you, seeing you had to do two people’s worth of work non-stop after school along with homework. You threw the dirty paper towel into the garbage and sat down, wiping your forehead and closing your eyes.

You were about to stand up, grab your stuff, and head back home when the front doors burst open, “Scott! Hey Scott, I need to talk to you-”

A young man, a rather cute looking young man, about the same age as your brother rounded the corner, stopping when he saw you.

You recognized him as Scott’s best friend, Styles, “Uh, hey, Scotts not here, do you need me to tell him something?”

He stared at you with wide-eyes, “I, uh, no. I just needed to, uh, you look very familiar, do I know you?”

“Yeah, we go to the same school. I’m just a year under you.”

“Oh,” he paused.

“So did you need me to talk to Scott for you?” you asked.

“Uh, nah, I just needed to talk to him… so you know him?”

You chuckled, “Yeah, I know him.”

“Cool, cool. Um, so I guess I’ll see you around then? At school?”

You looked him in his deep colored eyes, “Yeah, sure. See you around.”

He made an awkward smile and backed out of the doorway. You were about to turn around when he came running back in and tried to nonchalantly lean on the doorway.

“I almost forgot, what’s your name?”

You smiled, “Y/N, what’s yours?” Of course you knew his name though, did he not know you were Scott’s sibling?

“Styles. Uh, yeah, see ya!” and with that, he exited the building again.

You paused for a moment, expecting, no, hoping he would come back through the door. When he didn’t you shrugged and went out to your car.

School, you thought, might be a little more interesting tomorrow.

Styles looked around the hallways trying to catch a glimpse you walking to your next class. He swiveled his head back and forth, scanning the faces passing by, looking for the cutest one, yours.

Scott looked over at his friend and frowned, “Dude, whats wrong? You’ve been like this all morning, who are you looking for?”

Styles spoke without looking at him, “Yeah, um, oh! There they are, ahh. They’re beautiful, don’t you think? I met them last night at the clinic when I was looking for you but, they’re… why are you looking at me like that?”

Styles faced Scott, who was giving him a look, “Seriously, whats wrong?”

Scott pointed to where you were walking, “Them?”

He nodded, “Uh, yeah, why?”

“Dude, that’s my sibling. No.”

Styles gulped, “N-no?”

The other boy growled, like, literally growled, “Just… no.”
