As someone from the south my southern accent comes out STRONGLY when I’m tired so I can just imagine leo talking with a deep drawl after a game or on the bus ride home LOL! You’re so amazing and I love ur work so much pls never stop
This was actually a really cool prompt, because I got to do some research on NOLA accents! They're kind of similar to NYC ones in many ways, and distinct from the stereotypical Southern US ones. I noticed, particularly, that the way that lots of people pronounce '-ing' is not necessarily with a hard 'n' sound like '-in', nor a hard 'ng' sound. It's kind of like in the Northeast, where we don't really touch our tongues to the roof of our mouths right behind our teeth, but don't touch the back of our tongues to the back of our throat- it's a mix between the two. It's like a soft '-ing' sound with the same casual feeling of '-in', if that makes sense? It also depends on the starting sound of the word following the word ending in '-ing', so I also tried to represent that when I as writing. There was a lot of talking to myself, haha!
There's also obviously a bunch of different NOLA accents, depending on the area of the city you live in, your economic class, and your race, so I tried to emulate Leo's based on what we know about him and the characterization of him and his family in the SW universe. I hope I did it justice, and if I didn't, please let me know so I can learn more!

Leo turned up towards to the Louisiana sun and took a deep breath. It was warm on his face and neck, and the air smelled like home: slightly salty, heavy, and a little humid in the midday heat. He smiled and looked out over the front of the boat. His cove was up ahead, all secluded and shadowed, as if waiting for him and his boys. He realized they weren’t beside him, and turned around to look at the seats. They liked to sit there and watch him, they said, Finn usually with Logan in his lap or an arm around his shoulders. After a few minutes, Logan would inevitably come up to stand beside Leo and kiss his shoulder, just like he had the first time they’d gone out there. Finn took a photo every time, without fail. He had a special album on his phone, Leo knew, and the most recent one was his screen saver.
But when Leo turned around fully, they weren’t there. He jerked his head around. They weren’t anywhere. He furrowed his eyebrows, confused- he’d definitely undone the ropes with Logan, he was sure of it. And Finn had definitely squeezed his hips and pressed a kiss to his cheek in thanks after Leo helped him on the boat. All of their lifejackets were still there, too, nestled up right where they normally sat, in case of an emergency. Panic rose in Leo’s throat, and his breathing started to quicken. Where were they? They couldn’t have gone overboard, Leo would never forgive himself if-
Soleil.
Leo jerked his head up. Logan’s voice, like a whisper on the wind.
Soleil, réveille-toi, mon amour.
“Logan?” Leo asked. He tilted his head up to the sky. “Lo. Logan, where-”
Sh, sh, it’s alright. Open your eyes for me, mon coeur.
With a start, Leo jerked awake. His face was squished in the pillow, his hipbones pressing into something soft underneath him. “What-”
“Bon matin, Le.”
Leo squinted, and then a face came into view. Green. Green eyes. Leo gasped. “Lo.”
Logan was laughing softly. “Salut, mon coeur.” He was stretched out beside Leo on their bed, athletic and strong body all on display for Leo to gaze at. “You were talking in your sleep.”
“I- what-” Leo stammered. He shifted his body, feeling the mattress underneath his hips. “I been- been lookin’ for you for ages.”
Logan shuffled in closer and put a hand on Leo’s back. “Quoi? Why were you looking for us?”
Leo made a distressed sound low in his throat. “You left the boat.”
Logan’s brow furrowed. “Quoi?”
“You left the boat,” Leo continued. “We were gonna pass by my cove, ya know? Was thinking ‘bout-” He interrupted himself with a yawn. “Was thinking ‘bout kissing you- give you a passion mark.”
“A what?”
“A passion mark.”
“Soleil, I have no idea what that is.”
Leo huffed. “Ici,” he said, tugging at Logan’s arm. Logan shifted even closer and hissed in surprise when Leo leaned in and began sucking on his neck. He was propped on his elbow, hovering over with Logan’s head underneath him on the pillows. Logan reached up with his outside hand to scratch at Leo’s curls and hummed into the sheets. Leo in turn made a noise against his skin, hand running down Logan’s soft torso. He pulled off gently and surveyed his work. “Bon.”
“Soleil,” Logan said, face smushed a little. He was laughing. “Soleil, I’m stuck.”
“Hm,” Leo replied. “Can do somethin’ ‘bout it, honey.”
Logan laughed even harder as Leo straighted their twisted bodies by rolling over completely and flopping on Logan’s chest. Logan scratched his nails gently up and down Leo’s back. “Your accent always sounds so much stronger in the morning, mon coeur.”
“So does yours,” Leo retorted from his place against Logan’s neck. He placed his mouth back against the skin and sucked gently. Logan’s chest rose and fell with a content sigh, his hands still working their way up Leo’s shoulders.
Suddenly, the door to their bedroom opened. Leo didn’t remove himself from where he was, but he could hear Finn’s breath hitch when he saw them.
“Yeah, mom,” Finn said. He must have been on his weekly phone call with his parents. “Yes, I’ll tell them you said that.” A pause and a scoff. “Nuh-uh, we feed him, too.” Finn let out an exasperated sigh. “Yes, mom, okay. Okay, yeah, send it to me. I can work a stove you know.” Leo peeked his eye out to look at him. There was more chatter on the other end of the line, and then Finn laughed. “Yes, I know. Okay. Okay, I love you. Tell dad I say hi. Love you, ‘kay, bye.” Finn hung up and then let out a big sigh. His gaze on them was tired, but he was smiling. “Oh man, I need to lie down.”
Logan laughed. “You’ve barely gotten up.”
“No,” Finn said. The bed shifted as he crawled under the covers. “I’ve been up since the early morning, but some people have been being sleepy-heads.”
Logan shoved him slightly. “I was up with Leo.”
Finn turned his adoring eyes on Leo and leaned down to kiss his forehead. “I know, I’m sorry baby. Trouble sleeping?”
“Mm-hm,” Leo said. He settled down with his cheek against Logan’s shoulder, closing his eyes and moving into the feeling of Finn’s hand stroking his hair back. “Kept havin’ weird dreams. Lost y’all when we were passin’ by my cove.”
“When we were what?” Finn asked. His voice sounded confused.
Leo huffed slightly. “When we were passin’ by my cove. On the boat.” He opened his eyes again. “How’s your mama’n’em?”
Finn smiled. “Oh, I see. You’re that tired, hm? Last night's game wear you out?” Leo just blinked slowly. Finn kissed his forehead again. “Oh, you’re really exhausted, sweetheart. Why don’t you go back to sleep, huh? We got a day off.”
“Non,” Leo said defiantly. It was a little like what Logan would say, lovingly grumpy. “Non, I wanna stay here and talk.” He yawned. “Don’t wanna lose you on the boat again.”
Logan grinned into the top of his head. “Non, soleil. You’re not losing us on a boat.”
Leo kissed his chest, then looked at Finn again. “So, how’s your mama’n’em?”
“Well,” Finn started. “No ‘n’em’ today, just mom.” He settled himself firmly against them with a leg thrown over their bodes. He took one of Leo’s bouncy curls between his fingers. “She said she’d send me her bolognese recipe. Said it was ‘foolproof’, and that I should cook you dinner tonight because you feed me too much.” He scoffed. “I told her I know how to work a stove. And that I do feed you- sometimes.”
Leo smiled. “Ouais, you do. But I like cooking for ya.”
“Ouais,” Logan said. “Mais, we can do it for you.” He nuzzled Leo’s head. “Let’s treat you today, hm? Go for a walk around the park that you like, outside the city. Go swimming in the swimming hole.” He paused and squeeze Leo tighter. “How does that sound, mon soleil?”
“Yeah,” Leo nodded. “Yeah, okay.
“Sounds perfect, baby,” Finn said. He leaned in for a quick kiss from Logan. When he pulled back, his eyebrows furrowed, then a smile broke over his face. “Looks like somebody already got to you this morning, huh?” He leaned down to kiss over the mark that Leo had left.
Logan made a happy little sound. “Ouais. It’s a- what did you call it, soleil?”
“A passion mark,” Leo sighed. He snuggled further down into Logan. “‘Cause I love ya. Love ya both.”
“Je t’aime.” Logan settled back into the pillows. He sounded like he was half asleep again.
“Love you,” Finn whispered. He buried himself in next to them. “Love you, love you, love you. My sexy boys with sexy accents.”
Leo and Logan just laughed, shaking the bed beneath them. The day ahead felt a little less tiring now.
A little something I wrote to follow my last post! I hope you have found some happiness, maybe let yourself grieve for a minute. Remember that the work starts now, and that change starts with us, the people. Use your voice.

At first, Leo had thought that Finn’s fountain pen hadn’t been worth stealing, but that was before he started writing his grocery lists with it. It was the perfect weight in his hands and wrote so smoothly it was like spreading butter. He would take it out of the cup on Finn’s desk in what used to be his very own bedroom, now converted into a home office, and run his fingers along Finn’s engraved name lovingly before setting off to the kitchen. Finn would always wait so patiently for him to finish, even if he was bouncing on his toes while doing so. He always claimed that he wrote better with the fountain pen, a gift from Logan when he’d started his Master’s program this fall, and wouldn’t start his work without it. Leo would borrow it, write his lists, and then give it back to Finn with a kiss and a tap to his hip, nudging him to go back to work.
Today, though, Leo just stole it, and didn’t feel even a little bit bad.
“You realize he is going to freak out when he can’t find it, ouais, soleil?” Logan asked through Leo’s iPad, which was resting on the counter as Leo cooked dinner. More often than not, they’d FaceTime in the evenings and eat dinner together anyways, but Logan claimed he also liked to watch Leo’s back through the screen as he cooked.
Leo ducked his head into the frame and grinned. “Oh, I know. It’s not even hard to find, I just put it in the kitchen towel drawer by the oven.” He settled more in front of Logan’s face. “But he’s been all stressed out lately, and his paper is fine; I’ve already read it and helped him edit it three times. He just needs to take an evening off.”
As if on cue, Finn’s voice reverberated through the hallway. “Peanut, have you seen my fountain pen? I can’t find it anywhere!”
Leo just shook his head. “Sweetheart, I’m sure it’ll turn up! Come say hi to Lo.”
There was a thump and then Finn came sliding in on his socks into the kitchen, bumping softly into Leo as he stopped in front of the counter. “Hi, sweet thing, hi. How are you, Lo, baby?”
Logan grinned at him. “Ouais, bonjour, rouge.” He tilted his head. “You missing something?”
That perked Finn up, and he turned to Leo, wrapping his arms around his waist and looking up with wide eyes. “Yeah, yeah, baby, my fountain pen. Have you seen it, Le?”
Leo just feigned confusion. “What fountain pen?”
Finn’s ears started to turn a bit red, a mildly frustrated exhale coming out of his nose. Finn never got angry, especially not at them, but he did sometimes get fidgety when he was anxious about something. “Bullshit, which one. You know I can’t focus without it, and my paper is due tomorrow, and I don’t know where it is-”
“Isn’t your paper on the computer?”
Finn rolled his eyes as he looked at the iPad, but his expression was teasing. “Not helpful, Tremblay.”
Leo nudged him as he turned back to their bolognese sauce on the stove. “I’m sure you just lost it under the desk, or by the radiator, sweetheart. It’ll turn up.”
Finn whined in the back of his throat. “But I need it to focus.”
Leo snorted, but turned and took Finn’s face in his hands. “Finn, honey, you’ve had that paper done and ready for three days. You’ve been stressed out and can’t relax, even though it’s perfectly well written.” He kissed Finn’s forehead. “Just go and submit it, it’ll be fine.”
“But-”
“Go,” Leo said emphatically. “And maybe if you come back and make nice, stress-free conversation with your boyfriends for a couple hours you’ll get it back.”
“Ouais,” Logan piped up in agreement. “Rouge, go on.”
Finn stared at Logan’s face, then turned and narrowed his eyes at Leo. “You know where my pen is, don’t you?”
Leo just raised his eyebrows and winked at him. “Turn your paper in and find out.”
Finn took a deep breath and huffed in that way that he did when he really didn’t want to do something. “Fine. But I better be getting some really nice conversation when I get back.”
Logan laughed through the screen. “Ouais, maybe you’ll get something else really nice, too.”
“Oh?” Finn was smiling now, freckles scrunching on his forehead as he raised his eyebrows. “You gonna give you something, ten?”
Logan’s teeth flashed cockily. “I’ll take off my shirt for you, but only if you’re good.”
Finn tapped his hand to the camera. “You got yourself a deal, Trelembalaylay.” He turned to Leo and gave a pinch to each of his hips, making him squirm. “You know, Leonardus, you’re a lot more mischievous than you seem. The world doesn’t know you’re like this. I could tell them.”
Leo ducked his head down. “Oh? You want the world to know all about my delinquency?”
Finn stared for a second, then rolled his head back. “Fine. No. Just us, just Lo and I get to reserve that privilege.”
Logan laughed, then leaned his head closer to the screen. “Allez, rouge, go turn in your paper. Then Leo and I will be mischievous together for you.”
Finn bounced on his toes, nodding eagerly. “Yup, yup, that sounds like a great plan to me.” He kissed Leo’s cheek, then kissed towards the iPad. “Love you, babes, be right back,” he said, then scurried off back towards the home office as they both called a ‘love you!’ after him.
Leo gave the sauce one more stir, then turned to lean his forearms on the counter in front of Logan. “If I’d known it would have been that easy to get him to submit his work, I would’ve done that with the last two essays, as well.”
Logan chuckled at him. “Ouais, he’s very easily motivated by…” His smiled turned teasing. “Mischief.”
Leo laughed back at him, then tilted his head and admired the way Logan’s green eyes flitted all over his face. “Love you, Lo.”
Logan’s smiled turned soft. “Je t’aime, aussi, mon coeur.”
“Okay!” Finn’s voice called, followed by the sound of his thumping feet. He once again entered sliding on his socks, wrapping Leo up in his arms with a smacking kiss to his cheek. He wiggled his eyes at the two of them. “Time to get mischievous.”
Leo and Logan just looked at him and laughed.
I was wondering if you could write anything to do with any of these:
Finn and Logan being obsessed with Leo’s legs
Finn and Leo being obsessed with Logan’s arms
Logan and leo being obsessed with Finn’s freckles and eyes
Just them being obsessed with each other in general😭 they are so in love I can’t stand it
Thank you so much! You’re a Saint <3

Katie Dumais was getting too big, Logan thought. At ten years old, she was the spitting image of her dad, down to the practical pranks she played on her siblings. Adele found it amusing- Marc and Louis did not.
Ten was a big age, Logan decided. It was when kids stopped liking to be held, to be picked up, to hang out with their older siblings (blood related or not). Katie had given him and his boys a hard hug each when they arrived to her birthday party, but was now way more occupied with her friends where they were painting each other's nails on a picnic blanket in the Dumais’ backyard. Logan sighed, resting his head back against the Adirondack chair he was sitting on. He felt someone else sit in the chair beside him.
“This is making me feel old.”
Logan smiled at Sirius’ familar French and opened his eyes to look at him. “Ouais. I remember when she was little.”
“I remember when she was a newborn- I'd just moved in.”
Logan let out an amused snort. “Fuck, you must be feeling really old.”
“Allez, I'm not thirty quite yet.”
They laughed at each other for a brief moment. It felt good, to let go with Sirius again. Like it had been no time at all that they were on the same team, spending lots of free time together. They had so many fond memories together in the Dumais’ kitchen: meals shared, laughter, cleaning up the kitchen with Dumo. Logan loved the life he had now, with Finn and Leo, but there were times he wanted to be back there, young and clumsily moving through life. Being with Sirius in this moment felt like a different version of that, Logan supposed.
A presence joined them in the chair on Logan's other side. A cup with a drink in it appeared in front of his face. “For my Lo.”
Logan smiled and kissed Finn's cheek in thanks. “Merci.” He sipped it. “It's good.”
Finn patted his thigh. “Of course it is. I've made rum and coke for you for over a decade, I'm a master.”
“I wish Remus and I were good at mixing drinks,” Sirius said wistfully. “We always end up putting too much alcohol in it.”
Finn laughed around the sip he was taking from Logan's cup. “Well, if that's the goal, you're doing it right then.”
Sirius rolled his eyes. “Ouais, I guess.”
Finn nudged Logan's ear with his nose. “Heads up, some of Katie's friend have tiny siblings and they are all over Leo right now.”
Logan turned into him. Their noses were now brushing. “And what do you think of that?”
“Let's just say that, if I had ovaries, they would be bursting.”
Logan full-body laughed at that, hiding his face in Finn's shoulder. He could feel the smile Finn pressed into his forehead.
“What's so funny?” Remus asked. He and Cole had come to sit on Sirius’ other side.
Finn looked amused. “My ovaries.”
Remus just looked at him. “You don't have ovaries.”
“Well, not physical ones.”
Cole shook his head. “You're so fucking weird, O'Hara.”
Finn just shrugged. He took a sip of Logan's drink again, then suddenly sat up straighter. “Lo, look, look, look.”
Logan picked his head up to follow where Finn's finger was pointing to. Sure enough, Leo was surrounded by about half a dozen little kids, all definitely four or under, and they were playing what looked like a game of keep-away with a tiny soccer ball. A little girl was in the middle, laughing when Leo dangled the ball out in front of her, only to take it back. Eventually, he did let her get it, and went into the middle of the circle. He jogged slowly, exaggeratedly, as the kids passed it around to one another.
“Oh,” Remus said. He snorted lightly. “That's why your ovaries are exploding.”
Finn hummed. “Can you blame me?”
“He has no comment,” Sirius said, which made Remus just laugh.
Logan laced his fingers with Finn's on top of his thigh as they continued to watch. Leo looked happy, smile wide and white, a light sheen of sweat on his face from the hot summer sun. He was tall, too, dwarfing the small children around him. Logan let out a happy sigh. Finn kissed the side of his head. “He's going to be such a cute dad.”
Logan felt his chest warm. “Ouais. Ouais, he is.” He turned to kiss Finn properly on the mouth. “So are you. So sexy.”
Finn laughed a little breathlessly. “Stop that, you're getting me going,” he whispered.
“Maybe I want you to.” Logan leaned in closer with a smile. “Let's go to Dumo's bathroom again.”
Finn's ears were red and his eyes wide. Logan could tell he liked the idea, even if he wouldn't go through with it. “We can't do that, it's Katie's birthday.”
“She doesn't care about us,” Logan scoffed. “We're not cool enough anymore.”
Finn laughed and squeezed his hand. “Well, then, we can't because we're watching Leo play with tiny humans.”
“Oh, that's right.” Logan kissed Finn's cheek once more before turning with a sigh to look at Leo. “He's so tall.”
“Ugh, I know. Just look at his legs, Jesus Christ.”
Indeed, his legs were a sight to behold. They were lean and tan, the quad and hamstring muscles flexing and visible whenever he moved. His waist was slim, and he was tall, so shorts never ran long enough anyways, but Leo also preferred the eight-inch inseam, which left so much bare skin visible. Logan wanted to dig his teeth into the muscles of his inner thighs.
Leo was still in the middle, not quite yet letting himself best the kids. But one of them kicked the ball a little too hard, and it was going to go flying into a food table on the other side of the yard. Leo acted quickly, extending his long- so long, Jesus Christ- leg out to block it with his foot. He fell to the ground, one leg tucked under him and his other completely extended, the entire limb touching the ground. He didn't even flinch.
“Geez,” Remus said. “That's so not fair.”
“How the hell does he do that?” Cole asked. “That's so not fair.”
“Oh, it so is,” Finn said. His cheeks were flushed. “I'm a big fan.”
“Ew,” Sirius said. “Stop being gross.”
Logan scoffed. “Let's tell Loops what you think about his arms.”
Remus looked at Sirius mischievously. “Oh yeah? You like my arms, baby?”
Sirius stuttered. “Mais- allez, but- I don't not like them.”
“Oh my God,” Cole said, hands covering his face. “I should not be privy to these conversations.”
Finn just settled back in his chair, amused, and sighed contentedly. “Oh, look, here he comes.”
Logan turned to find Leo walking up to them. He was smiling, still, and he stopped in front of them with his hands on his hips. “Hi.”
“Hi, baby,” Finn said. He was looking at Leo adoringly. “Having fun?”
“Yeah,” Leo nodded. “Dumo and the other parents said they could watch the kids in the pool, so they went to change into their swimsuits.” When they said nothing, still just looking at him, he furrowed his eyebrows. “What?”
“They're saying inappropriate things about you,” Cole said.
Leo let out a confused laugh. “What?”
“Something about Finn's ovaries,” Sirius grumbled.
Leo blinked. “Excuse me? None of y'all have those.”
Finn leaned forward in his chair to cup the backs of Leo’s knees. “Figuratively, I do. C'mere, Le, sit.”
Leo hesitated, but he allowed himself to be pulled down and into straddling Finn's lap. Logan and Finn immediately put their hands on his thighs. “Why are you saying you have ovaries?”
Finn rolled his eyes. “They're figurative.” He kissed Leo quickly. “And they go crazy when I see you with kids.”
That got Leo to smile. “Yeah?”
Logan nodded. “Mhm, ouais. That and your legs.”
“Oo, yeah,” Finn said, rubbing his hands further up Leo's thighs. “Your flexible, flexible legs.”
Leo tisked and grabbed Finn's hands where they were making their way towards his butt and settled them further down towards his knees. “Stop that, there are children,” he chastised, but he was biting back a smile and blushing.
“Mm,” Finn hummed, leaning in to bite at Leo's jaw. “Sexy, sexy legs.”
“Are you pretending you're not hearing this?” Remus asked.
“Yes,” Cole said. “Oh my God, yes.”
“Rouge,” Logan scolded. “We don't want to make them uncomfortable.”
“Well, then,” Finn said. He let out a grunt and stood, hoisting Leo up underneath his thighs. “We will be taking this party elsewhere. Where’s the pool? Are there tiny children in it yet? We've got a change of clothes in the car.”
Leo was laughing. “Finn, no-”
But Finn was already off walking across the grass. He drew some eyes, a few surprised looks at first, but then Logan watched as people smiled as they watched Leo and Finn laughing, Leo's hands laced in Finn's hair. Logan bit his knuckle around a grin as he watched them go.
“Mon Dieu, that was painful,” Sirius said. “I don't even want to know what you're like behind closed doors.”
Logan raised his eyebrows at him. “Non, you don't.”
Sirius groaned and fell into Remus, who just kissed his head. “Baby, you set yourself up so well every time. You should have learned by now.”
“This is supposed to be a family friendly party,” Cole said. “How does it always turn out like this?”
Sirius glared at Logan. “Because the Cubs are dirty.”
Logan winked at him, which definitely didn't thwart his ideas, and stood to follow the sound of his boyfriends’ laughter.
***
Finn loved Logan and Leo at parties. He loved the way that, when he himself wandered off to socialize, Logan automatically tucked himself into Leo's side, content to just watch as Leo charmed whoever he was speaking to with his wit and his smile and that special goodness that Finn and Logan adored.
Tonight however, on the rooftop of a New York City bar, it seemed that Logan’s social battery had somehow activated itself.
He'd definitely had too much to drink- Finn could tell by the way his face flushed and by the way he every so often gripped Leo's jaw to bring him down into some kisses that would have been way too obscene during the day. But during the night, in the middle of summer, surrounded by other tipsy people- well, Finn, for one, was really enjoying the show.
“You know,” Natalie said from beside him at the bar. “I used to think that Logan was just a shy little grump.” Her eyebrows raised even higher when Logan took Leo's lip between his teeth, Leo shaking his head at him fondly with wide eyes when he pulled away. “But now I know that he’s a loud grump who needs just the right amount of tequila to bring him out of his shell.” She winced when Logan interrupted Leo talking to Alex to bring him down into another deep kiss. “Sheesh, maybe too much out of his shell.”
Finn smiled. “Yeah, those shots were not a good idea. I'm surprised he even did them.”
“I'm regretting buying him them.” Natalie rapped her knuckles on the bar top. “So, Freckle, how's it hangin'? Thanks for coming out with us tonight. Alex really needed to be taken for a walk.”
Finn laughed. “Yeah, we can't be inside for too long. What'd he do?”
Natalie counted off on her fingers. “Claimed he was bored, cleaned the kitchen, claimed he was bored again, cleaned the bathroom, baked brownies, fell asleep on Kasey for a weird twenty minutes, went for a run, claimed he was bored another time, then was tapping his fingers all through dinner when we were watching the Open.” She sighed. “And this was all by 5 p.m.”
“Huh,” Finn hummed. “To be fair to him, sounds like a pretty empty day.”
Natalie just looked at him, then rolled her eyes over to where the bar tender was coming with their drinks. “You boys are both crazy.” She thanked the bar tender, then picked up her tray. “C'mon. Maybe if we give them enough alcohol, they'll be too hung over to do anything tomorrow but sleep.”
Finn snorted, picking up his own tray. “Logan might. But us O'Haras have a fast metabolism.”
“Don't fucking remind me.”
They maneuvered their way around the other people slowly, careful not to spill anything. Finn had ordered Logan a water and Leo a Dark ‘n Stormy. He got himself a Manhatten; this late in the night, he was in a sipping mood. Plus, somebody had to be sober enough to get Logan home.
“Hey, gorgeous,” Alex said with a smile, accepting his drink and a kiss on the cheek from Natalie. “Thank you.” He turned to Finn. His cheeks were flushed and his eyes a little wild- he was definitely past tipsy. “Tremzy here challenged me to an arm wrestle.”
Finn looked to Kasey, who winced with a nod. Leo had his arms wrapped around Logan, keeping his arms contained in an obvious attempt to deter the idea with cuddling. By Logan’s excited, drunken grin, it was not exactly working.
“Al,” Finn said, eyeing his brother. “Are you sure? Logan doesn't really know his own strength when he’s-”
Alex waved him off with a determined look. “I've got this.” He took a sip of his drink and cracked his knuckles, leaning forward in Kasey’s hold, who had a hand on each of Alex’s hips from behind. Alex propped his elbow up on the table. “Let’s see what you got, Lolo.”
Logan scoffed. “That's not my name.”
Alex rolled his eyes. “C’mon.”
Leo looked at Finn with raised eyebrows. Finn sighed and took a step closer, cupping Logan’s face in his hands. “Please be careful with him. He's my older brother, and he's an ass, but I do love him.”
“Hey!”
Logan just giggled in the way he only did when he was intoxicated and leaned up to kiss Finn sloppily. “Ouais, I won't break him.”
Finn kissed his forehead. “Okay. Okay, show ‘em what you got, Tremblay.”
Logan and Finn switched places, Finn leaning back into Leo's chest and Logan taking a seat opposite Alex.
“What did you get him?” Leo whispered.
“Water,” Finn said. He brought Leo's hand up to his mouth and kissed it. “I really don't want to deal with a mega hungover Logan tomorrow.”
Leo snorted quietly. “He acts like the world's ending. Le, I want soup, please. Fish, I need a massage, allez.”
Finn grinned. “I promise I'll give you lots of nice kisses if you service me.”
They snickered quietly together, Leo hiding his face in Finn's shoulder. Alex and Logan, whose hands were clasped, looked at them. “Quoi?” Logan asked. “What's so funny?”
Finn patted the top of his head. “Nothing, baby, carry on.” He smiled at the laugh Leo let out against his neck.
Logan narrowed his eyes at them, then turned back to Alex, who was focused intently. “Kase, count off,” Alex slurred.
Kasey sighed from where he was sitting behind Alex, Natalie standing next to him and running her hands through his hair. “Okay,” he said exasperatedly. “Three, two, one, go!”
“Shit,” Leo said breathlessly in Finn's ear after a moment. “Maybe this was a good idea after all.”
Indeed, Finn was inclined to agree. Logan's sharp jaw was clenched in concentration, his slightly sweaty hair curling out and fanning over his ears. Finn followed a line down from his devastating green eyes to his shoulder and back, defined in the maroon shirt he was wearing, all the way down to his arm. His bicep was bulging in a way that was not helpful in a public setting, and the veins in his forearms showed distinctly through his skin. Finn bit his lip as his face flushed. Leo must have been feeling the same way, because he pressed lingering, open-mouthed kisses to the back of Finn's neck.
“Oh, baby,” Leo said hotly, quietly. “Look at those biceps.”
Finn nodded absentmindedly, gripping hard onto where Leo's forearms were wrapped around his waist. Leo had just flattened his palms, running a hand lower on Finn's abs down to the waistline of his shorts, when Alex let out a grunt as his arm fell limp on the table.
“Allez!” Logan yelled, slapping the table with his hand.
Alex let out a defeated groan, covering his face with his hands as he fell heavily back onto Kasey's chest, Natalie carding a hand through his hair. “Fuck, that's not fair.”
“It's okay, hon,” Kasey reassured him with a kiss to his cheek. “You'll get him next time.”
Alex just groaned again.
Logan, however, stood up and moved right into Finn and Leo's space, grin a little victorious, definitely drunk, and very much in love. “Did you see?”
Leo laughed. “Yeah, honey, we saw. You beat him good.”
Logan hummed, reaching up to tug on Finn's hair. “Did you like what you saw?”
Finn guided Logan's hands down then rubbed possessively at his biceps. “Definitely. I'd like to record it next time, please, zoomed in on your arms. For alone-time material.”
Leo smacked his hip. “Since when have you ever done that alone since you started dating us?”
Finn bit back a smile and turned to kiss Leo's jaw. “You're so right, I've even got two of you.” He nosed under Leo's chin. “We can use it as material when we have alone time together while he's in New York.”
Leo sucked in a breath. Finn knew he'd got him. “That's a good point.”
Logan reached up again to grab at Finn's hand and draw his attention. “Allez, what material will I be getting, all alone in New York?”
Finn kissed him. “Anything you want, baby.”
That made Logan's eyes light up. “Ouais, then, I want a video of your hands on Leo's thighs.”
Finn nodded. “Oo, good choice. We can do that.” He reached around to pat the back of Leo’s thighs. “I love getting my hands on these sexy legs.”
Based on Logan's smile, Leo had rolled his eyes. “This is not appropriate for public consumption.”
“It sure as hell isn’t,” Finn said. He winked at Logan. “Our eyes only.”
Logan hummed happily. “Ouais, our eyes only.” He fell forward a little bit, distractedly running his hands through Finn’s hair. “I'm tired.”
Finn tilted his jaw down to bite at Logan's bicep. The muscle was firm under his teeth. “Let's finish these drinks, then we go home.”
Logan kissed him briefly. “What did you get me?”
“Water.”
Logan scoffed, letting his hands fall to his side and maneuvering to bully Finn out of the way so he could snuggle into Leo's chest. “You're no fun.”
Leo kissed his forehead appeasingly. “We are trying to avoid the hangover of the century tomorrow.”
Logan just sighed heavily.
After forcing Logan through the entire glass of water and sipping on their own drinks, Leo and Finn coaxed Logan into letting them guide him out of the bar. They waved goodbye to Natalie, Kasey, and Alex, the latter of whom was almost asleep and being half-carried by Kasey to stand up so they could leave themselves. Finn smacked his brother on the back, eliciting a huff, before tightening his other arm around Logan’s waist to help him down the stairs. Leo went in front of them, walking backwards and holding out his hands to support Logan as he wobbled.
“My Lord, honey, you are really drunk, aren't you?”
“Non,” Logan protested. “I'm not.”
“Okay, let me just let go of your hands then.”
Logan gripped Leo’s wrists tighter, his arms flexing. “Non, non, peanut, non.”
Leo just smiled fondly and bent to kiss Logan’s biceps. “C’mon, muscle man, let's go to bed.”
Finn laughed, and they helped Logan slowly down the stairs. When they got to the bottom, the lights of the noise and the city surrounding them, Finn couldn't help but push them both against the dark corner of a building, Logan stumbling a bit.
“Merde, Fish, I'm gonna fall.”
“Nuh uh,” Finn said. He pressed his hands to Logan’s hips and kissed his mouth hard. “Not while I've got you. You and your sexy arms.”
Logan laughed, resting his head against the brick. He gazed at Leo, then at Finn, a sleepy smile on his face. “I love you.”
Leo smiled back and bent to kiss him. “Love you, sweetheart.” He tugged at Logan’s hand, blue eyes playfully meeting Logan’s own. Finn was so in love with them. “Alright, it's not too far to walk. Let's get you and your sexy biceps back home.”
***
Leo hummed quietly to himself as he puttered around the kitchen, placing the lid on the pot so the taco meat could simmer. He checked on the potatoes in the oven. They still weren't near done, but they definitely weren't as raw as they had been earlier. He sighed, glancing around. The guacamole was ready, and so was the crema and the pico de gallo. He covered the bowls with the beeswax wrap Regulus had got him for his birthday and placed them in the fridge to stay cool while the rest of the dinner cooked.
He stretched, his back popping just as there was the scratching of keys in the lock. Logan walked through a few seconds later and smiled when he saw Leo. “Salut, soleil,” he said, toeing his sneakers off and sliding over to give Leo a kiss.
“Hi, sweetheart.” Leo wrapped him in a hug. “How's Sirius?”
“Good,” Logan sighed into Leo's neck. “Happy to not be an All Star again.”
Leo hummed happily into Logan's hair. “So are you. You get to come home.”
Logan made a content noise. “Where's rouge?”
“Reading in bed,” Leo said. He pulled back to hold onto Logan's hips with a smile. “He was tired after pickup yesterday and our long run this morning.”
Logan stepped on Leo's toes with a bashful smile. “And we had a late night.”
Leo nuzzled their noses. “That we did.” He tugged Logan's hand. “C'mon, let's go say hi.”
Leo held tightly to Logan's hand all the way to their bedroom. The door was opened just slightly, and there was just a reading light on. There wasn't any noise.
“Is he asleep?” Logan whispered, standing on his toes to peer over Leo’s shoulder.
Leo nodded. “I think so. We have to be so quiet.”
Logan hid his laugh in Leo's sweater-covered bicep. They stepped through as quietly as they could. Leo peered around the doorway and smiled. He felt Logan squeeze his hand.
Finn was uncharacteristically starfished on the bed, mouth open and sleeping soundly. He had a special talent for falling asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow, but even this was extreme- he normally slept on his side. Now he was flat on his back with his arms over his head. The cuffs at the bottom of his sweatpants had ridden up, as well as his gray Harvard sweatshirt, exposing the trail of red hair at the bottom of his stomach. He'd kicked one of his fuzzy socks half off his foot.
Leo could feel Logan still giggling into his arm. “Très étrange.”
“Ouais,” Leo whispered. He squeezed Logan's hand and let go, approaching the bed. He and Logan laid down on either side, hovering over to just look at him. Leo touched his cheek lightly. “He has so many freckles, even in winter.”
Logan smiled down at Finn fondly. “Oui.” He pressed a silent kiss to Finn's cheek. “I think he has more now than he did in college.”
Leo turned to catch Logan's eye. “Yeah?”
Logan nodded. “Ouais.” He gazed back down at Finn, smile still on his face. Leo loved how Logan looked at him. “I don't think I could count them all now.”
Leo got his knees under him. “Let's try.”
They counted, Leo pointing to each one and Logan saying the number in soft French with a hand stroking Finn's hair back. They grinned at one another every now and then, giggling, Logan giving Leo a kiss to keep him quiet.
They'd gotten to freckle one hundred and seventy when Finn let out a little noise, making Leo laugh. Logan had hushed him, leaning across for a soft kiss. It was with their lips pressed together that they felt Finn's chest expand with a deep breath. “Whoa.”
Leo smiled against Logan's mouth and pulled away. Finn was staring at them with parted lips. Leo stroked his cheekbone. “Hi, sweetheart.”
Finn smiled lazily and stretched. “Don't stop on my account.”
Logan huffed out a breathless laugh and leaned down to kiss Finn on the mouth. “Salut, rouge.”
“Mm,” Finn said, reaching a hand up to rub up and down Logan's ribs. “Hi, baby. Good day?”
“Ouais,” Logan said softly. He settled himself on his stomach with his chin on Finn's chest. “Good nap?”
Finn nodded and let out a puff of air through his lips. “Yeah. Yikes, I was tired.”
Leo's laugh made them both look at him. “You were conked out, honey. I think that's the hardest I've ever seen you sleep.”
Finn's smile widened. “Enjoy the view?”
Leo shifted to hover over him more. Finn's eyes followed the line of his body. “Definitely.” He looked at Finn's eyes in the warm lamp light and softened. “Your eyes look so pretty.”
“You think?”
Logan shifted to look down at Finn's face, too. He grinned. “Oui, they do. Like they're- comment dit-on?” He looked at Leo with questioning eyes. “Fondre?”
Leo leaned over and kissed his cheek. “To melt. They look like they're melting.”
“Ouais, melting.”
Finn was looking at them both fondly. Leo swore that if Finn's eyes weren't actually melting, they'd make Leo melt. Now, they twinkled a bit, too. “I love the way you talk to each other.”
Logan hid his face sheepishly in Finn's neck. Finn rubbed up and down his ribs and looked up at Leo with a satisfied smile. Leo smiled back and leaned down to kiss him. “Rise and shine, sweetheart. Dinner's almost ready.”
Finn just wrapped his other arm around Leo's back and dragged him down to his chest next to Logan. “Five minutes.” He turned to look at Leo with a pout. “Please?”
How could Leo say no to those eyes? To the gorgeous, star-like freckles that lined the skin around them?
“Okay. Five minutes.” He settled in against Finn's shoulder and reached his other hand out to scratch Logan's scalp, Logan humming contentedly. “But only five minutes. I worked hard on those taco bowls, and they will be spectacular.”
Finn laughed softly into Leo's hair. “I bet they will be. Your food always is.” He kissed Leo's curls. “Love you.”
“Love you,” Leo whispered. He pressed a kissed to Finn's shoulder and closed his eyes. “I love you.”
Can we see the cubs being adorable and clingy?(clingy in a good way!!) like after they come out just publicly hanging off of each other and being in their own little world🥹
That night at that one bar, Logan had spent nearly the whole time pressed into Leo’s side just… content. Just at ease. So at ease.- Vaincre Ch. 27, lumosinlove
I read this prompt and IMMEDIATELY thought of this moment in Vaincre. So have my vision of how Tweedle perceived it, along with some implied pining and some O'Hara wisdom.
All credits to @lumosinlove !!
Luke tapped his fingers along the side of his beer glass. His short nails clinked against it lightly, a soft undertone to the loud music and chatter that surrounded him. He was sat in the middle of the room, a place that he didn’t really like to be normally, but there were no other spots available when he arrived. Next to him, Alex O’Hara and Percy Marshall were playing some sort of card game. Luke didn’t know what it was, but it seemed complex and had been going on when he had sat down. That was over an hour ago.
He stretched his neck, closing his eyes briefly against the feeling. His eyes, when they opened, were staring at the section of the bar where there were high tops. Logan was sat on a stool with a rum and coke in front of him. He looked a bit sleepy and was leaning against someone- Leo, Luke realized.
He observed silently for a moment. Leo was laughing and talking to Will Morgan and his wife, Ray. He was standing, tall, even for a professional hockey player, and his laugh reverberated around the space. Logan pressed closer to him, ducking under Leo’s arm, his own coming to wrap around Leo’s waist. Leo looked down at him with a smile, kissed his forehead, then went back to talking with Will and Ray. Logan didn’t move his gaze from Leo for a second, though, just rested his chin on Leo’s chest to look up at him. Leo gave no obvious indication that he realized Logan was gazing at him, but he did bring his hand up to run a thumb over Logan’s jaw.
Suddenly, as if from thin air, Finn appeared by their sides. He clapped Will’s hand, kissed Ray’s cheek, then went over to his boyfriends. His cheeks and ears were flushed, obviously a bit tipsy, as he bent to kiss Logan’s cheek repeatedly. Logan laughed, scrunching his nose, but he was obviously pleased. Leo looked happy, too, and soft, until Finn leaned over Logan’s head to press those same kisses to his face. Then, he opened up, almost like a flower, curls bouncing with his laughter. Luke got why they called him the sun.
Logan, in between the two of them, just looked happy, content. He had an arm resting on each of their ribs. When Finn pulled away, he started talking to rapidly, a hand on each of them, mindlessly touching. They didn’t seem aware, nor to care, that Will and Ray were still there. They had watched amusedly, but now were talking to Saint, who was at the high top next to them. Luke’s breath caught.
“Ugh, they’re so gross,” Alex scoffed from beside Luke, breaking him from his reverie. “It’s like they don’t even realize it.”
Luke just turned to him, eyebrows raised. “I think Finn’s just a little tipsy, too.”
Percy laughed. “Yeah, he kind of goes crazy when that happens.” The cards in his hands slapped against one another as he shuffled them. “It’s nice, though. It was tough, watching him and Logan in college, sometimes. But they figured their shit out- and Leo is good at keeping them honest, too. He’s good for the both of them.”
Alex nodded solemnly. “Yeah, they really needed him. Need him.” He looked contemplatively at his younger brother. “He makes it all easier, I think.”
Luke furrowed his eyebrows. “What?”
Alex shrugged. “He’s part of them allowing themselves to love each other. By loving him, they are okay loving one another, too.” He looked serious. “And I think- well, Leo makes them being public easier, too. From what Finn’s told me, he was always sure of who he was, what they were, even if they, especially Logan, were nervous. Or afraid.”
Luke nodded, biting his lip as he turned back to look across the bar. Leo was now talking to the both of them. He looked like he was telling a story, the light reflecting off his blonde curls as they bobbed with his head. Logan had his head leaning against Leo’s bicep, tucked in close and safe. Finn, seemingly without knowing once again, had Leo’s hand in his own, pressing soft kisses to the back of it and up his forearm. Leo didn’t even look phased. He smiled at Finn, and nicked his cheekbone with his pointer finger, but didn’t stop telling his story. Finn was nodding rapidly along. He replied to something Leo had said, and it must have been snarky, because Logan turned with a wide grin to contribute. In sync, they both looked at Leo. He just shook his head and rolled his eyes fondly at them.
“Luke?”
Luke jerked, turning to Alex, who was looking at him strangely. “Yeah?”
Alex ran his tongue over his lips. It was brief, but Luke saw his eyes flash over to where they both knew Saint still was. “You okay?”
Luke swallowed. “Mhm.”
Alex looked him up and down. When his eyes met Luke’s, they were the most serious Luke had ever seen them. “Sometimes you can’t make it easier. Here, out in the world. But you can choose to try.”
Luke just stared at him. His body felt hot, and his chest felt a tug, as if a string was pulling on it. Probably pulling it right across the bar to the other high top table.
“Uh, Hazard? Tweedle? The fuck is going on?”
The look in Alex’s eyes vanished as quickly as it had come, and he turned that signature O’Hara grin on Percy. “Nothing, Perseus.” He nudged Luke with his elbow. “Just letting Luke here know that it will hurt for you both to lose, but that you can try not to, anyways.”
Percy narrowed his eyes at Alex’s smile, but sighed. “Fine. Fine, that’s not it, but I’ll let it slide.” He flipped his hat backwards. “Game fucking on.”
Alex turned to look at Luke. His smile was still playful, but his eyes were back to serious. “You dealing in, Tweeds?”
Luke took a deep breath. He glanced to Saint, then to Logan, head against Leo’s shoulder and fingers laced with Finn’s, then to Alex and Percy . “Yeah,” he said softly. “I’m dealing in.”
One of my favorite little moments from vaincre is when Leo got visibly flustered at the fact that Finn could pick him up during the scene where they were all hanging out at the pool. Just the fact that he probably thinks he’s too tall or heavy to be picked up and him getting so flustered when Finn did it omg
This is ALSO one of my favorite moments. Great minds, I guess.
As a short human, I identify with Logan in the sense that I love to be picked up. I also identify with Finn in the sense that I also like to pick other people up. Tall people deserve to be carried around, too!
Enjoy our sunshine being carried around a bunch!

“You picked me up,” Leo said as the door shut behind them.
“Hm?” Finn asked. He was drying off his hair with a towel. “What’d you say, sunshine?”
“At the pool,” Leo continued. He stripped himself of his swimsuit and pulled on a pair of boxers from his suitcase. “You just- you put me over your shoulder and picked me up.”
Finn finished pulling up his own shorts and grinned at him. “Oh? Did you like that?”
“Well, I’ve never-” Leo started, but was interrupting by a buzzing sound coming from the nightstand. He looked over at where their iPad screen was lit up. “It’s Lo.”
Finn walked over and picked up the tablet, pressing the green button. Logan’s face lit up the screen and Finn smiled. “Hey, gorgeous. How are you?”
“Bien,” Logan replied. “Congrats on the win.”
“Thanks, baby,” Finn said. He sat criss-cross on top of the hotel bed covers. “Did you eat?”
Logan nodded. “Ouais, at Luke’s. We had burgers.” He paused. “Where’s Le?”
Finn gestured with his hand. “Right over here, baby, he’s-” He paused and broke out into a sharp grin. “Are you still thinking about that?”
Leo hadn’t moved since Finn had picked up the phone. His brow was furrowed and his mouth parted in thought as he listened to his boys talk. Logan made a questioning noise through the screen. “Quoi? What’s happening?”
Finn turned to face Logan again, still grinning. “Leo’s all flustered that I picked him up.”
Logan laughed. “Quoi? Soleil?”
Leo shook himself out of his trance and went to sit by Finn. Logan’s face was amused when Leo looked at him. “Sorry, sorry. We just- we went swimming in the hotel pool, and- Sirius and Remus were there.” He jerked his head to Finn. “And then Finn just- he just picked me up and ran and jumped in the pool.”
Logan burst out laughing. “Ouais, that sounds like him. But he picks me up all the time.”
Leo rolled his eyes and could feel his face flushing. “Yeah, but you’re not six-foot-three and two hundred pounds.”
Finn made a noise in the back of his throat. He got on his knees and put his hands on Leo’s thighs to rub gently. His eyes were warm and questioning. “Is that what you’re worried about? Because I can assure you, Logan and I can definitely bench you, sunshine. Throwing you over my shoulder is nothing.”
Logan nodded in agreement. “Ouais, soleil. Next time I see you, I’ll pick you up, too.”
Leo ducked his face shyly. “Well- okay, then.”
“Look at you, all blushing,” Finn cooed. He pressed a burst of kisses to Leo’s cheek. “This is really doing it for you, huh?”
Leo bit his lip around a smile. “Well, I just never thought I’d be with someone who could do that. There aren’t many people who are strong enough to lift someone as big as me.”
“Well, not if they aren’t trying, baby,” Finn said. He knelt his way off the bed and set the iPad further down the bed so Logan could have a wider view. Then, he looked up and beckoned Leo with a hand. “C’mere.”
“What?” Leo asked around a laugh.
“Just come here.”
Leo stood up and walked over to him. Finn wrapped his arms loosely around Leo’s waist and kissed him softly. When they pulled back from one another, his brown eyes were serious. “I don’t care what anyone else has said to you, or what you thought they would say. You’re body is absolutely gorgeous, and we love it very much.”
“Ouais,” came Logan’s voice. Leo looked behind himself to see his eyes were twinkling and they smiled at one another. “The most gorgeous.”
Finn pressed his mouth to Leo’s ear and spoke quickly. “Plus, the perk of dating two athletes is that we can do this.”
Leo yelped slightly as the arms around his waist tightened again and Finn bent down slightly to throw him over his shoulder. Finn’s arms went around his thighs, one hand coming up to pat his butt lovingly. Leo twisted his head up, his neck straining slightly to see Logan laughing through the iPad. “Fish,” he gasped delightedly.
“Gotcha, butter,” Finn said. His voice was light and happy. He was laughing, too. “Gonna carry you like this through the streets of Gryff.”
“No,” Leo protested, but it wasn’t all that convincing.
“Yon,” Finn retorted. Then Leo’s world spun as Finn turned them around. “How’s he look, Tremblay?”
“Gorgeous,” Logan replied. “Viens ici.”
Finn took a step closer towards the bed. Leo gasped as he was flung down off of his shoulder, falling against the springy mattress. Finn straddled him and planted his hands on either side of Leo’s head. His hair flopped down over his face and his teeth were a bright white against his freckled skin. “Gorgeous, gorgeous, baby. I like tossing you around.”
Leo’s smile and giggles scrunched his face as Finn made a big show of kissing his neck sloppily. He turned his head to look at Logan, who was smiling back. Joy bubbled up through his belly and made him lightheaded as he cupped the back of Finn’s head against him.
“I love you,” he laughed. “I love you so much.”
Both of their answering smiles were blinding.

“Thank you for surprising me,” Logan said. He had come up to put his hands on Leo’s hips as he wiped the counters. They had just finished the breakfast Finn had brought them. “I like waking up with you in my bed.”
“Us too, sweetheart,” Leo said. He turned to rest his arms over Logan’s shoulders. “You feeling ready for the B’s?”
“Mmhm,” Logan nodded. He pressed closer and rested his chin on Leo’s collarbone, a smile making its way across his face. “I have a surprise for you.”
Leo looked at him, confused. “What? But, you didn’t know we were coming how could you-” He gasped suddenly as Logan gripped him under his thighs and in one smooth motion boosted him up to sit on the counter. He let out a breathless laugh. “Lo…”
“I told you,” Logan said through a mischievous grin. “I told you that the next time I saw you I would pick you up.”
Leo wrapped his legs around Logan’s torso. It felt good to do that, to not be the one who did the lifting, to be the one that got to wrap his limbs around someone else instead of the other way around. “Oh yeah?”
Logan leaned up to kiss him. “Ouais.” He smoothed his hands up and down Leo’s legs. “Hold on.”
“What are you- oh my God.”
Logan had, once again in one movement, grabbed Leo’s thighs and pulled him forward until he was off of the counter, hanging on tightly to Logan. It was a bit awkward, and Leo felt his height acutely, but Logan didn’t seem to mind. In fact, he didn’t even look like he was struggling at all.
“Careful, sweetheart, I don’t wanna hurt-”
Logan scoffed. “You’re not hurting me.” He leaned up to bring their faces closer together. “I bench more than you weigh, remember?”
Leo smiled, smitten. “I remember.”
“Good,” Logan said, satisfied. “Now, to the couch.”
Leo laughed as Logan carried him around the counter and to the living room. Finn chose that moment to come out of the bathroom, amused smile plastered on his face. “What have we here?”
“Leo appreciation,” Logan answered. He squeezed Leo around his thighs and plopped him on the couch, immediately straddling his waist. “We aren’t letting his feet touch the ground all day.”
Finn came to kneel on the ground just to the side of them and looked up. “I can get behind that.” He ran his hands up and down Leo’s thighs and pressed kisses just above his knee. Leo felt warm all over. “These beautiful legs aren’t going to have to work a single second.”
Logan pressed his lips to Leo’s jaw and Leo made a happy sound. Logan grinned against his skin, and Leo was so, so in love with the both of them. “Non. Not a single second."
Hi! I just lost my 13yo dog and been so down, but trying to think about all the amazing times we went through. Made me wonder about the cubs adopting a rescue dog, or even better, Logan maybe gifting Leo said dog, or something like it, dont know, just wanted something very lovely and cute. Thanks
Hi friend,
I am so so so sorry for your loss. Dogs love unconditionally like nobody else can, and I imagine it must be so hard right now. However, they are some of the greatest gifts life has to offer, even if their time on Earth is much more limited than ours. They bring so much joy and happiness, and I hope you can find that in the memories you carry of your sweet baby. <3
Have some sunshine being a sweet dog-whisperer and Logan and Finn wanting to surprise the very best husband they could ever ask for.
Sending lots of love your way!!

Logan laced his fingers through Leo’s as they walked along the path through the park, stepping aside every now and then to let bikers and runners pass by. Leo’s skin was tan from the summer sun and matched beautifully with the gold rings on his fingers. Logan brought his hand to his mouth and kissed it, then turned to look up at him. They were discussing where they wanted to go for dinner. “What do you want to do tonight, soleil?”
Leo shrugged. “Don’t know. Could ask Finn, he was talking about this new place that opened up in the center of the city. Or we could go to that café we like for an early dinner, then go for a walk by the water. It’s a nice day.”
“Mm,” Logan hummed distractedly. He stopped abruptly and bent down. When he stood to give Leo the flower he picked, small and yellow, he smiled. “Allez. For you.”
Leo smiled back. “Thanks, honey.” He kissed Logan’s forehead. “I love it.”
Logan was leaning up for another kiss when he felt something cold sniff his ankle. He pulled away and looked down. “Quoi?”
The dog had moved on to Leo now. It was medium sized, with long, triangle ears and a boxy face. It’s entire body wiggled as it looked up at Leo and stuck its tongue out in a smile.
“Sassy!” a woman said. She gave the dog a tug by its leash and smiled sheepishly. “Sorry, sorry, she’s not leash trained quite yet.”
“That’s alright,” Leo said. He looked up at her. “Can I pet her?”
“Yeah, yeah, of course.”
Leo grinned and bent a bit to let Sassy sniff his hand, and when she licked it, he crouched fully to scratch behind her ears. He laughed when she made a content little grunting sound. “You’re so pretty! Look at you, baby.”
Logan smiled fondly then looked up at the woman. “What breed is she?”
She shrugged. “We’re not entirely sure. We think a pitbull-coonhound mix. I’m not her owner, I’m just taking her for a walk. I volunteer at Gryffindor Shelter on Lavelle Street.”
Logan tilted his head. “So she’s not adopted?”
“No. A group of us take the dogs for walks every week so they get used to it. Helps to socialize them a bit.”
“That’s awesome,” Leo chided in. Sassy now had her paws on his bent knees and was wiggling happily as he continued to scratch her ears. “You’re a very sweet girl.”
Logan took in Leo’s smile and bright blue eyes. They had talked about getting a dog before, in theory. Leo always joked that Finn basically was their dog and that they needed to run him, but Logan knew he wanted the real thing. He loved whenever the Lions did charity work or photoshoots with rescue dogs. Finn and Logan had shared knowing glances many times over the years as they watched every single dog, old and young, big and small, fall in love with Leo the second they met him.
Suddenly, there was a warm body behind him and a wet, slightly sweaty, kiss was pressed to his cheek. “‘Sup, hubs.”
Logan turned and caught Finn’s eye. “Salut. Good run?”
Finn nodded eagerly, bouncing on his toes. “Oo-ways. Two more miles left.” He noticed Leo on the ground and the women holding the leash and smiled. “Hi! Who’s this?”
The woman smiled. “This is Sassy. She’s at Gryffindor Shelter, I’m breaking her out of jail for the day.”
Finn crouched down and held out his hand. “Aren’t you a sweet little girl!” He laughed when she came to lick his wrist, then Logan’s ankle, before going straight back to seek attention from Leo. “Damn, okay, I see how it is.”
The lady winked at him. “Seems she found a friend.”
“Looks like. She’s very pretty.”
The woman nodded. “She is.” She checked her watch briefly, then tugged on the leash. “Let’s go, Sassy girl, gotta get you back.” She looked up at the three of them. “Nice to meet you…?”
“I’m Finn,” Finn said. “And this is Logan and Leo.” He gestured accordingly with a tilt of his head. “And you?”
“Melanie.”
Finn turned on one of his signature grins. “Well, Melanie, thanks for sharing Sassy with us. And taking her for walkies, I’m sure the shelter must be boring for her.”
Melanie smiled. “My pleasure.” She gave the leash another tug. “Let’s go, Sass!”
Sassy let out a whining sound before resisting just enough to give Leo’s forearm another lick and receive one last scratch before she was being led away down the path. Leo watched her go with a small smile on his face for a moment. Just enough time, really, for Finn and Logan to share a meaningful look. Logan grinned and turned to Leo, holding out his hand. “Ici, soleil, let’s finish our walk.”
Leo let out a sigh. “Okay.” He took Logan’s hand and stood. “She was really cute.”
“She was, baby,” Finn agreed, kissing his cheek. “I’ll meet you at the fountain in a few, okay? Love you.”
Leo nodded. “Love you.”
Finn jogged backwards for a moment, making a heart with his hands, before winking and turning to run ahead. Logan stood on his toes and kissed Leo on the cheek. “You look very pretty in the sun.”
Leo rolled his eyes good naturedly, but he turned his face to brush their noses together. He still had the yellow flower between his fingers. “I love you.”
“Je t’aime.” Logan kissed him on the mouth, then squeezed his hand. “Allez, or our oversized puppy will get impatient waiting for us at the fountain.”
Leo laughed and let Logan pull him along the path.

Two weeks later
It took a lot of planning, and insisting Leo go out with Regulus one day while they had a secret house inspection, but Logan had done it. Well, really, he and Finn had done it, but he liked to credit himself for the idea, at least. They had told Leo they were going out to get fertilizer for his herb garden, which they did actually do- the store just so happened to have all necessary dog accessories, and was a three minute drive from Gryffindor Shelter on Lavelle Street.
“Are you excited, Sassy girl?” Finn cooed from the front seat as he parked. He turned to scratch her behind the ears, and patted Logan, who was sitting in the back with her, on the head. “Your daddy’s gonna be so happy!”
She let out a whine and a short bark, her entire body vibrating with energy. Logan clipped the leash they had got her around her collar and gingerly opened the door. “Allez, ma petite, careful.”
Sassy paid him no mind and leapt out of the car after him, nose in the air and twitching like a bunny’s with soft huffs. Finn chirped the car and went to open the door leading from the garage to the lower lobby and the elevator.
“Wanna bring the other stuff up later?”
“Ouais,” Logan said, gripping tightly to the leash as Sassy pulled in her excitement. “I want Le to see her first.”
Finn made a happy sound in the back of his throat. “I can’t wait, he’s gonna be so excited.” He turned to look at Logan as they stepped through the elevator door and kissed him. “You’re a good husband.”
Logan smiled against his mouth. “Toi aussi, mon rouge.” He bent to rub Sassy’s side. “She’s very happy.”
“Wiggly little thing, huh?” Finn crouched to give her a kiss on the forehead, which just made her wag her tail even harder. “Gonna have to take you on runs to get your energy out. Yes I am!”
Logan ran a hand fondly through Finn’s hair just as the elevator door opened. Sassy immediately dragged Logan out, nose to the ground as she scurried her way down the hallway. Finn laughed and went to unlock the door. “Hold her here for a second, ‘kay?”
“D’accord,” Logan replied, crouching to hold Sassy around her chest.
Finn touched Logan’s cheek, winked, then pushed the door open. “Sunshine! We’re home.”
“Hi, honey,” Logan heard Leo say. There was the sound of a brief kiss. “Where’s Lo?”
Logan could imagine Finn’s mischievous smile. “We’ve got a surprise for you.”
“What?”
“Lo, let her in!”
Logan stood and held onto Sassy’s leash and guided her into the apartment. Leo looked briefly confused, but his entire face changed when he saw her, breaking into a wide smile. Those bright eyes flashed to Logan’s face. “No.”
Logan nodded, a warm feeling working its way up his chest. “Ouais.”
Sassy whined, entire body vibrating, before Logan let her go. Leo crouched and she launched herself right into his lap, happy, high-pitched noises escaping her. Her paws were dancing on Leo’s legs as he cupped her face and scratched her ears. He was laughing and cooing at her. Logan and Finn and Logan shared a fond look.
“Hi, baby, hi!” Leo was saying. “Oh, you’re so beautiful.” He looked up at Finn and Logan, both dimples on full display. “She’s ours?”
The look Finn gave him was so in love Logan felt his heart speed up. “Yeah, sunshine. She’s ours.”
Leo laughed again and buried his face in Sassy’s neck. She had both of her paws on his shoulders and was sniffing by his ear. She had calmed down a bit, comforted by the warmth of Leo’s body. Logan could relate.
“Thank you,” Leo said softly. He tilted his chin up. “C’mere.”
Finn sat by his side and Logan kneeled in front of him. Leo leaned in to kiss them both softly, a hand supporting Sassy on her back. Finn wrapped one arm around Leo’s waist and Logan scratched Sassy’s side just beside Leo’s hand.
“She will need some training,” Logan said. He moved his hand up and flitted his fingers over Leo’s curls. He leaned into the touch. “But she needed a home, and she loves you, Le.”
“She’s perfect,” Finn said wistfully, head now on Leo’s shoulder. He reached out to rub Sassy’s ear between his thumb and forefinger. “Her ears are so soft.”
“Mm, like- how do you say it, soleil? Le velours?”
Leo smiled and peeked out at him. “Velvet. Yeah, they are.”
Sassy was wiggling again, excited and eager with all the hands petting her, and let out a happy little growling sound. Logan barked out a laugh. “Rouge, she sounds like you.”
Finn mimicked her happy growling sound and reached out with both hands to scratch behind her ears. She opened her mouth in a smile and talked back to him again. “Just like your dad, baby, did you hear that?”
Leo kissed her on the side of her head. “Okay, c’mon, baby girl, let’s show you the house.” He coaxed her off his lap and took her leash, leading her through the kitchen. “This is where all the yummy snacks are made. I’ll have to find some dog friendly recipes for you, sweetheart.” They continued on. “And this is the couch, it’s great for naps. I’ll make sure to get you a blanket.”
Leo continued chattering to her as he showed her the bedrooms and the hallway. Her nose was moving rapidly, the sounds of her sniffing making Logan let out an amused breath. He settled back on his heels as Finn came to sit beside him. He wrapped his arms around his shoulders and kissed his red waves. “Good surprise.”
“Good surprise,” Finn agreed. “He’s so happy. They both are.”
Logan hummed into Finn’s hair and breathed out a laugh as Leo’s voice continued to carry through their apartment, followed by a bark from Sassy. “I think we married a Disney character.”
“Oh, we definitely did. We could put him in the forest and he’d be friends with all the animals in an hour, probably.”
Logan smiled into Finn’s hair. “You’re so weird. I love you.”
Finn tilted his head and kissed him. “I love you, too.”
They turned to look as Leo walked back into the entryway with Sassy, who was now free from her leash. She saw them and trotted her way over, entire body wiggling, and nudged their hands. They both smiled and complied, scratching her side and ears. Leo stood over them, leash in one hand, his smile bright. Logan couldn’t tear his eyes away.
“Is her stuff in the car?” Leo asked. At the sound of his voice, Sassy turned around and went over to him again. He squatted to pet her.
“Yeah, but we’ll get it, baby,” Finn said. He stood, then held out a hand for Logan. “You relax.”
“You sure? I can help-”
“Non.” Logan bent and cupped his face to kiss him quickly. “Stay here, mon coeur. We’ll be back.”
Later that evening, after the three of them had taken Sassy for a long walk around her new neighborhood, Finn and Logan arrived from picking up their Thai take out for dinner to find Leo fast asleep on his back on the couch. Sassy was a heavy weight on his chest, limbs splayed out as she softly snored. One of her ears was flipped inside-out. Leo’s arms were wrapped gently around her to keep her from falling.
Finn sneakily took a photo. “New lockscreen.”
Logan rested his chin on his shoulder. “Send it to me, please?”
“Already done, baby.” He kissed the side of Logan’s head. “They’re so cute.”
Logan bent to kneel beside the couch and kissed Leo’s forehead, brushing his hair back. “Mon amour. Mon mari. Dinner.”
Leo took a deep breath in and blinked slowly. He smiled sleepily. “Hi.” His arms tightened around Sassy. She let out a content sound and opened her eyes, too. “Sorry, we were just taking a nap.”
Logan shook his head. “Non, don’t be sorry.” He nudged their noses together. “You were very cute.” He felt a paw pat his forearm and he turned to Sassy. “You, too, ma petite.” He kissed her between her eyes and she let out a satisfied sigh.
Leo scratched her back. “Up, sweetheart, it’s supper time.” He laughed as Sassy let out a groan and stretched her back legs and yawned. “Oh, big stretch and big yawn, wow.”
Sassy hopped off the couch and shook, her lips and ears making a flapping sound. She trotted over to greet Finn and sniffed eagerly at the bags he was still holding. “Ah-ah, none for you. Yet. Maybe some chicken.”
Leo tisked. “Spices aren’t good for dogs, they upset their tummies.” He walked over and rested a hand on Finn’s lower back and leaned in for a kiss. “Hi. Thanks for getting dinner.”
“You’re welcome, sunshine.” Finn opened the takeout bags on their counter and began to unload them. Sassy sat obediently and looked up at him, ears perked up. Finn looked at her, then at Leo with his very own pleading puppy dog eyes. “Are you sure she can’t-”
“No. But we can cut her up some cucumbers and you can give them to her, how’s that?”
Finn smiled and nodded. “That sounds good.” He bent to touch his and Sassy’s foreheads together and kissed her nose. “You’re just so cute!”
She barked and wagged her tail happily. Leo looked down at her proudly, then caught Logan looking at him. “You okay, sweetheart?”
Logan nodded. “Ouais,” he said, going up to wrap his arms around Leo’s ribs. “Just love you.”
Leo kissed the top of his head. “I love you, too.” He bent to wrap his hands under Logan’s thighs and pick him up. His dimples were there again. “You got me a dog.”
Logan scratched a hand through his hair and tightened his legs around his waist. “I did.”
“We.”
“It was my idea!”
Leo rolled his eyes fondly and kissed Logan on the mouth. “Well, thank you both. She’s perfect.”
Logan kissed him again. “You’re perfect.”
Leo just grinned and set him down again. “C’mon, let’s get the plates. Then I gotta give Sassy her dinner.” Logan scratched Sassy, who was still watching Finn open the take out containers with rapt attention, on the head, letting the warm feeling of family fill him up as he went to get the silverware.
these fics are so good! Can you do a Cubs panic attack hurt comfort fic? I feel like Leo is always the comforter, can we see his boys rally to care for him when he’s feeling super anxious 🙏🏼
Everyone has a bad day. Sometimes the clouds hide the sunshine. But it's okay, he's got two boyfriends who are always going to be there for him!

On my way up, Logan sent as the elevator doors closed behind him. He leant against his suitcase handle, watching as the numbers increased on the screen above the doors. Though it had only been a few weeks since Leo and Finn had come to New York for a game, it felt like months. Logan, for his part, was looking forward to a week with no hockey (with the exception of watching the All Stars) and with his boyfriends. He yawned, slightly tired from the early morning drive, but perked up when the elevator dinged and the doors opened.
As he stepped out, he heard a door open quickly from down the hall, and he looked up to find Finn jogging towards him. Leo was leaning against the doorframe to their apartment, arms crossed and with a soft smile on his face.
Logan barely had time to get his suitcase off the elevator before Finn was squeezing him around the waist and lifting him up with an excited laugh.
“Baby's home!” he said, far too loudly for the empty hallway, but he didn't seem to care.
Logan laughed in his ear as Finn spun him around. He could see Leo laughing, too, over Finn’s shoulder. “Salut, rouge.”
In one motion, Finn set him down and drew him in for hard, happy kisses. Logan almost couldn't keep up.
“Hi,” Finn said in between each press of their mouths. “Hi, hi, hi, I missed you.”
Logan kissed him lingering once more before pulling back. “Missed you.”
Finn turned him around to walk towards the door. He pressed against Logan's back, one hand on his waist and one dragging his suitcase. It was impractical and clumsy as they moved towards Leo, but Logan wasn't ready to be out of Finn’s arms quite yet.
When they arrived in the doorway, Leo was looking down amusedly at them. Logan admired the way his shoulder muscles showed through his T-shirt before stepping into his space.
“Hi, honey,” Leo said with a smile. “Welcome home.”
Logan just reached up to wrap his arms tightly around Leo's neck, Leo doing the same around Logan's waist. Leo smelled spicy, like he'd been cooking, and like their laundry detergent. Logan breathed it in before pulling back slightly to cup around the base of Leo's neck. “Bonjour, mon soleil.”
Finn pressed against Logan's back again as Leo leaned down to kiss him. Logan sighed against Leo's mouth. They kissed softly, languidly, until Leo cupped Logan's face in his palms to hold him there a moment. When they pulled apart, Leo bent down to tuck his nose in Logan's neck. “Missed you.”
There was a sizzling sound from the kitchen and Leo let Logan go. “Whoops, that'll be the meatballs.”
“Meatballs?” Logan asked, following Leo curiously over to the stove.
Leo nodded. “Got all your favorites on the menu this week. Spaghetti and meatballs, chicken wings, lamb stew, spicy burritos, chili. Some creme brulee- I finally got a tray with sides for a water bath. Homemade bread.” Leo paused, turning a few meatballs over to let them finish browning. “Oh, and your maman sent me her cassoulet recipe. Figured I'd sneak that in as well.”
Logan smiled against Leo's bicep. “Merci, soleil.” He looked up to gaze at Leo's side profile. “But you don't have to do all that if you don't want to. I don't want you to stress.”
“That's what I said!” Finn called from where he was putting Logan's suitcase in their bedroom.
Leo shook his head. “And I told you it's fine!” He dropped a kiss on Logan's head. “I know you don't eat as well in New York. I want you to feel at home.”
“I do feel at home,” Logan said. “You're here.”
Leo smiled happily down at him and leaned in for a kiss. “I love you.” He inspected his meatballs. “Now, go have a seat, sweetheart. I'll finish this up to let the sauce simmer for a few hours, then I'll make us some lunch.”
Logan sighed but complied, going over to take his rightful place sitting on the counter.
***
The BLTs for lunch the first day were good. So was the spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. Logan didn't mind spending the whole day in the apartment, sitting at the counter in Finn’s arms to keep Leo company while he cooked. It felt so good just to be together again.
The following day had been a relaxing one as well. They'd gone for a morning run all together, then brought pastries back to go with the eggs and bacon Leo cooked. Leo had no sooner finished his plate than he was washing the dishes and getting out more ingredients to prepare food for the All Stars week. But it was okay- they sat on the couch together to watch the skills competition with piles of homemade wings, onion rings, and loaded fries.
It was the third day that Logan started to get worried. By the look Finn gave him as they stepped through the apartment door, hand in Logan's after coming back from the pharmacy, he did, too.
“Le?” Finn asked cautiously. “You okay?”
“Hm?” Leo looked up at them. He was stirring at the stove with one hand and measuring out some stock with the other. He paused to step away and pour what looked like brownie batter into a pan. “I'm okay.”
“Do you need help?” Logan asked.
Leo shook his head, distracted. “No, thank you. Go put on the All Star game, I'll join you in a minute.”
Logan and Finn looked at each other warily as they shrugged off their coats.
***
“Shit.”
Finn jerked his head up from his place on Logan's chest on the fourth day. They both peered over the back of the couch at Leo's back.
“Le,” Logan said. “Ça va?”
Leo waved his hand. “Nope, no, it's fine. I forgot to add in the garlic before sautéeing the rest of the veggies. Just gotta mince some.”
Finn flashed his eyes to Logan before standing and walking over to the counter. “I can do it, Le.”
But Leo's arm was furiously moving with his chopping. His words were rushed and a bit frantic. “No, no, sweetheart , it's okay, I-” He was interrupted by the timer on their stove going off. “Oo, that'll be the creme brulee.”
He grabbed a couple of oven mitts and opened the door, peering for a second.
“Le,” Finn said. “Are you sure-”
“Promise, sweetheart, I've got it.” Leo held the hot tray with one hand and stirred the pan on the stove with the other. “I just gotta make sure the garlic doesn't- ah!”
Finn took in a sharp breath. There was the sound of the tray clattering onto the counter, and then Leo was rushing towards the sink to run cold water over his arm where the boiling water from the water bath had burned him. Logan couldn't see his face, but his back muscles were tense.
Finn looked alarmed as he carefully approached Leo's side. He gently touched Leo’s arm. “Le…”
Leo was still for a moment. Logan couldn't even hear him breathing. Then, maybe it was Finn's presence, or maybe his soft voice, but Leo's shoulders hitched with his first sob.
“Oh, baby.” Finn reached to shut the faucet off and opened his arms. “Baby, c'mere.”
Leo turned into him, crying freely now. He cradled his arms against his stomach and fell against Finn. Logan didn't think he'd ever seen Leo cry like that, helpless and lost and completely boneless. And when he spoke, his words came out disjointed. His breathing was static and much too rapid for Logan's liking.
“I'm so sorry,” Leo sobbed. “It's just- he's never here. And- and I want to do something, and this is how I- I want him home, and now I've wasted our time-”
“Sh, sh, baby,” Finn whispered. He had a hand in Leo's hair and one tight around his heaving ribs, applying pressure. “I've got you, sunshine. Breathe, baby, breathe.”
Finn twisted his head slightly to rest it on Leo's shoulder, facing Logan. He wasn't crying, exactly, but he looked sad, heartbroken- even a little guilty, Logan thought. Guilty that he and Leo were bearing this sorrow in front of Logan. They talked about how much they missed each other, but sometimes Logan thought he would never know how truly deep their ache ran.
Logan stood and walked over cautiously to where Finn and Leo were standing by the stove. Leo had stopped crying so hard now, but his breathing was still shaky against Finn's shoulder. Logan leaned against the island opposite them. “Soleil?”
Leo pulled away with a sniffle and wiped his nose. “Hi, honey,” he said. He tried for a smile, but then his breathing caught and he put a hand over his eyes. “Fuck.”
Logan immediately took Leo in his arms, Finn moving to rub a hand up and down Leo's back. Leo wasn't crying, but his breathing was harsh against Logan’s neck.
“I'm sorry, Lo,” Leo whispered. “I'm so, so sorry.”
Logan turned his head to press his mouth to Leo's ear. “Sh, mon soleil. It's okay.”
“No, Lo, it's not, I've spent the whole time in the damn kitchen-”
“Leo,” Finn said, somehow firm and gentle in that way he always was. “We just want you to breathe for us, baby. Just for a minute.”
Leo nodded into Logan's neck, holding tightly around Logan's waist. He didn't seem to know how hard he was squeezing, but Logan didn't dare move. He squeezed just as tightly back.
After a few minutes, Leo's breathing calmed down enough that he started to get heavy in Logan's arms. Finn raised his eyebrows, and Logan nodded minutely. Finn leaned in to kiss Leo's neck. “Le?”
“Mm.”
“You wanna talk, baby?”
Leo just buried his nose further into Logan's neck and shook his head. “No.”
Logan turned his nose into Leo's curls. “Why not, mon soleil?” When Leo didn't answer and Logan felt a couple more tears fall onto his shoulder, he made a soft noise and kissed the side of Leo's head. “Mon coeur, don't cry. It's okay.”
Finn rested his forehead on Leo's shoulder. “Please tell us what's wrong, baby.”
Leo mumbled something, but it was unintelligible.
Logan scratched at Leo's scalp. “Quoi?”
Leo sighed. “I'm embarrassed.”
Finn and Logan looked at each other with sad eyes. Logan tugged once gently on Leo’s hair. “Regarde-moi, mon soleil.”
Leo took a deep breath and stepped back. His cheeks were blotchy and his blue eyes lined with red. Logan took his face in his hands, stood on his toes, and placed a gentle kiss on his forehead. Finn had one arm wrapped around Leo's torso, palm rubbing up and down his stomach.
“I'm sorry,” Leo said. “I really wanted this week to be special for you.”
“It is, Le,” Logan replied gently. “Every day with you is special.”
Leo looked down at the floor. “I just wanted to make you feel at home.”
“You make me feel at home, mon coeur. You and rouge.” Logan rubbed his thumbs underneath Leo’s eyes. “You're so good to me, and you're so kind, and so thoughtful, and so beautiful. We have the rest of our lives to eat the delicious food you cook.”
“Yeah,” Finn said. “Le, we love when you cook for us, but that's not why we love you.”
“Ouais.” Logan leaned up to kiss Leo lightly. He took Leo’s hand in his to kiss just above the slightly burnt skin on his forearm. “I want to be with you, soleil. That's all I want.”
Leo pressed their foreheads together. “I'm still so sorry.”
“Non, don't be,” Logan said. “I love how sweet you are.” Logan smiled against Leo's cheek. “But maybe tonight we don't cook.”
Leo laughed tearily. “Yeah. Yeah, that sounds good. Thank you.”
“Tell you what, nutter butter,” Finn said, shifting to stand by their sides with his arms looped around Leo's waist. “I'll box up the veggies and the beef and we can make chili together tomorrow. You'll sit at the counter looking all pretty and tell Lo and I what to do.”
Leo looked mildly horrified. “Uh-”
“Don't worry your pretty little curls, it'll be fine.” Finn pressed a wet kiss to Leo's cheek and spoke with his nose nudging where his lips had been. “Tonight, however, I'm going to take you both out to that Turkish place, then we will come home and have dessert. The creme brulee looks great, all it needs is the sugar, and you know how much I love a blow torch.”
Leo couldn't help but smile, a little bashfully, and nod. “Okay. Okay, yeah, that sounds good.” He turned to look at Finn. “Thank you.”
Finn kissed him. “Any time, you know that, baby.” His expression got a little more serious. “And, Le, if you ever feel like that again, please tell us?”
“Ouais, we won't judge,” Logan said. He nuzzled his nose under Leo's jaw. “We just want you to be alright.”
“I promise,” Leo whispered into Logan's hair. They stood still for a minute, tucked together and close. “I promise.”
“All righty,” Finn said jovially. He pressed a smacking kiss to each of their cheeks. “You go get all nice and handsome for me, and I'll clean the kitchen, okay? Lo, can you take our sunshine to the shower, and then put some cream on that burn?”
Leo rolled his eyes playfully. “I can shower myself.”
Finn waggled his eyebrows. “But why would you do that when Logan Tremblay is so ready and willing to go with you?”
Leo looked down at Logan and smiled. “You have a good point.” He took Logan's hand and started towards the bathroom. “We'll be right back!”
Logan grinned, looking over his shoulder to find Finn watching them fondly. Love you, he mouthed. Logan mouthed it back and continued following Leo to the bathroom. He pushed forward and wrapped his arms around Leo's waist, causing them to stumble.
Leo caught them and covered Logan's hand with his own. “You okay, sweetheart?”
Logan nodded against Leo's back. “Je t'aime.”
Leo spun and kissed his forehead. “I love you, too. Now c'mon, we got a sexy redhead waiting for us.”
“I heard that!”
Logan laughed and let himself be dragged beneath the hot spray.
MORE headcanons, because I once again need a study break. Probably won't be posting for a few more days- I want to get some of these prompts written out and edited before I start posting them for you guys, and I am also SWAMPED with homework! Keep the prompts coming if you have them, though, please! I promise I will get to them in the near future. :)
Logan really is super fucking strong. His bench, squat, and deadlift maxes go CRAZY, and he is a pull-up king. He doesn't have a powerlifter/bodybuilder body, though, because of all the hockey he plays, so he's not a TOTAL hunk. But his muscles show AND go. Finn has obviously been obsessed with them for years (he's a big fan of biting them). Leo could sit with a cup of iced coffee and a pastry and watch Logan work out for HOURS- he gets really hot and bothered watching Logan lift.
Finn is a big lotion-er. He didn't really have a proper skin routine or anything like that until he met Leo, but he ALWAYS lotioned his body after a shower from the time he was little because he has really dry skin. It's a family thing. And because he's so pale, he burns easily (there is no part of him that tans, he is a ghost or a lobster), so his parents always emphasized sun damage prevention and after-sun skin care for him and Alex.
Leo loves handmade sweaters. Everywhere they travel to, he always goes and looks for a local artisan who makes sweaters and buys himself one. Finn and Logan find it so cute, especially if they're in a country where the native language isn't English, because Leo always tries to talk to the shop owners in their native language, even if he stumbles his way through a conversation sometimes. His side of the closet is filled with big, colorful, wooly sweaters, and Logan LOVES to steal them because they swamp his body. It's like Leo's giving him a hug (bonus if Leo is actually hugging him while he's wearing one of them).
They went to relationship counseling a few different times. They did it when they were still long-distance after they'd gotten married and it was really hard to communicate sometimes and they got kind of depressed being newly-married AND living apart, and then they went again after they all retired and were figuring out their purpose. Leo, more than Finn and Logan, needed time to figure out his own identity, because he'd entered a long-term career and permanent relationship so young. Finn and Logan especially struggled with the idea of Leo doing all his charity work and traveling, the idea of him being away freaked them out to the point where it resulted in a few arguments. Obviously, they figured it out, and they worked everything out, but it was hard for a few months.
Leo's body softens a bit in retirement. He still lifts and stuff (he retains most of his strength), but he doesn't have to follow as strict of a diet. He gets kind of a sleeper-build almost, a little squishy on top but still REALLY strong underneath, and his muscles POP when he flexes. Finn and Logan are absolutely obsessed with him. Finn takes every opportunity to bite his tummy, and Logan loves Leo's thighs and back. He's still really flexible (mobility is important for him), which also has its benefits. He ages beautifully because of it, too, and his body is capable of physical things until a very old age.
Logan has one of those hand squeezer things to build up finger muscles. He does it to distract himself, mostly, but Finn and Leo have a hard time tearing their eyes away. Their Lolo has very nice hands.
Finn LOVES suits. Absolutely loves them. He also loves finding up-and-coming designers or recently graduated fashion students and just tells them to do whatever they'd like. He ends up with a pretty spectacular wardrobe. So do Leo and Logan.
They all went to South America and hiked volcanoes together in Peru, Bolivia, and Chile. Coolest views EVER! Logan and Leo especially have a love for trekking. They start to go on a lot of camping trips when they have vacation time. Finn is weirdly obsessed with the dry meals that you rehydrate with just water. Leo is just a bit appalled.
They once ran into Johnathan Bailey in New York City after a matinee Broadway show. Finn was SO starstruck and stuttered so hard that Leo and Logan were DYING of silent laughter. Finn choked when Johnathan winked at him and LeLo make fun of him for it for the rest of their lives.
They make a huge effort to never, EVER stop dating each other. They might have been married for 20, 30, 40 years, they might have kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, and they are still just as obsessed and dedicated to one another as they were at the beginning. Even when they go through rough patches, they never miss their weekly dates, even if it is just going for coffee or taking a walk all together. They always say 'I love you' when they say goodbye, hang up the phone, go to sleep, wake up, and after every argument (that aren't really arguments at the end of the day- mostly they're tired or don't know how to say what they want to say). They make sure to schedule nights away with just the three of them, even if it's just at a hotel on the other side of the city for one night because they left their kids at Remus and Sirius' house. They never stop surprising one another and they never stop putting each other first, even if it sometimes is really hard. It's how they stay so incredibly in love for their entire lives.
“He picks me up all the time” erm we need more of Finn picking up his boyfriends ASAPPPOO
So sorry this took so long. I've been busy-busy, so I've been spacing out my posts until I can write some more. Keep the asks coming though, I love love LOVE receiving prompts! <3
Have some Finn having fun tossing around his boys! All credits to @lumosinlove !!
“Let’s go, Lo baby,” Finn said. He grabbed Logan’s body from the bed and picked him up bridal style. Logan let out a wheezing noise.
“Fish.”
“Nope, we gotta go.” Finn was grinning down at him and placed a smacking kiss on his forehead. “It’s Christmas!”
“Non, it’s not,” Logan sighed. He burrowed his face into Finn’s neck. “That’s tomorrow.”
Finn nodded enthusiastically as he carried Logan out into the living room. “Right, but Leo’s doing food prep today for dinner tomorrow. Loads of people are coming over, baby, we gotta help.”
Logan groaned. “Café.”
“Right here, honey,” Leo’s voice came. He was stood in the kitchen dressed in the cute reindeer apron Finn had bought him for this exact day, smiling with a mug in his hand. “Put some cinnamon in it, too. And some homemade whipped cream.”
Logan smiled at him. “Thank you.” He jostled Finn’s shoulders. “Down.”
“Nope, not yet.” He boosted Logan up. “Here we go.” And with that, he ran around the counter, making a zoom sound, and stopped right in front of Leo. “Here, Le, Santa brought you a present.”
Leo raised his eyebrows amusedly. “Santa, huh?”
“Yup.” Finn’s grin was sly. “Sexy Santa, too. He forgot his suit and hat, though.”
Leo held out his arms. “It’s okay. I prefer him without it.” He transitioned Logan from Finn’s arms to his own and kissed his forehead. Logan preened under the attention. “My favorite gift ever.”
Finn waggled his eyebrows. “Want me to wrap him up for you? Give me five minutes.”
Leo snorted. “We don’t have time.” Logan reached up to play with his curls and drew him down into a kiss. Leo smiled into it. “Although, you do make a very convincing argument.” With a last kiss, he placed Logan back in Finn’s arms. “Go get dressed, sweethearts. I’ve got coffee ready, some oatmeal, and then it’s show time.”
“On it, butter.” Finn spun a one-eighty, making Logan laugh, and ran back into their bedroom. “Don’t worry, Le!” he called. “Santa will be back with your present in a jiffy!” There was a small silence. “Hey, Le! If I get a sexy Santa costume, can I get you a sexy Mrs. Claus outfit, and then we can unwrap our gift together?”
Leo shook his head fondly. “Whatever you want sweetheart!” He bit his lip. “Tell you what, honey, if we can get the meat marinating and the desserts in the oven by lunch, I’ll give you a present.”
There were two sharp intakes of breath. “On it!”
***
“Finn!”
Logan opened his eyes from where he was laying beneath the shade of a tree. He squinted against the sun filtering through the leaves and turned his head, breaking out into a smile. He didn’t know how or why, but Finn had Leo over his shoulder, Leo still with the football they were throwing in his hands. Leo was laughing, curls dangling towards the ground. Finn was running towards Logan a little lopsidely with that gorgeous crooked smile. Logan pushed himself up on his elbows to greet them, grinning up at them as Finn stopped beside their picnic blanket.
“Hi, gorgeous.”
“Rouge.” He peered around Finn’s legs to meet Leo’s red face. “Why is soleil upside down?”
Finn gave Leo’s butt a loving smack. “I wanted to demonstrate my football tackle.”
“Finn,” Leo laughed. “This is not a football tackle.”
Finn shrugged. “It’s like… if a football tackle was combined with a touchdown. The goal is to carry you into the endzone, Le.”
“Harz, that is not how football-”
But Finn interrupted him by spinning around a few times before crouching down to put Leo on his feet. He pressed a burst of kisses to Leo’s cheek. “Howdy, baby. You okay?”
Leo pinched his hips. “That was a lot of spinning.”
Finn waggled his eyebrows. “Fun, right?”
Leo giggled in the twinkly way he did. It lit Logan up, and he reached up to grab at Leo’s hand. “Assieds-toi, mon amour.”
Leo sat down with an oof and flopped down on Logan’s chest. “How’s your nap, sweetheart?”
“Good,” Logan sighed. “Rouge, ici.”
Finn laid himself down on Logan’s other shoulder. He looked contemplative. “Hey, Lo, do you think I could use you as a football?” He grinned sharply. “Leo and I could toss you in between us.”
Logan slapped his chest, but blushed anyways. Leo’s laugh was light in his ear and he leaned into their bodies as he closed his eyes, allowing the summer heat to work its way into his body. He was warm all over as he drifted off to sleep.
***
“Fish, this is not going to-”
“No, no, hold on, I can do it-”
“Rouge, you’re going to drop me-!”
“Oof.”
Leo stabilized himself on the ground to keep from falling on Logan and Finn, who were pressed into the couch at an awkward angle. Finn was attempting to lift them both up, a feat he assured them he could accomplish. So far, it had proven less than easy.
“Finn,” Leo sighed. “Combined Logan and I are almost four hundred pounds. You’re going to hurt yourself.”
“Nuh-uh,” Finn protested, righting himself with a kiss to Logan’s cheek. “I can squat four twenty-five for reps, peanut butter. I can totally carry you.”
“Hm, so strong,” Logan said appreciatively as he ran his hands up and down Finn’s biceps.
Finn winked at him. “Just for you, baby.” He jumped a couple times them squatted down with a look behind his shoulder at Leo. “C’mon, Le, up.”
Leo sighed again. “Okay,” he conceded. He jumped on Finn’s back and gripped him with his limbs. “Just be careful, sweetheart. We’ve gotta go back after the All-Star break, and coach would kill us if you got injured. And Lo’s gotta make it back to New York in one piece.”
“It’ll be fine, trust me, baby.” He patted Leo’s thighs. “You secure, nutter butter?”
“So secure.”
“All righty.” He guided Logan into standing on the coach and reached out for him. “C’mere, Lolo.”
“That’s not my name.”
“Lo, baby. Let’s go, I wanna do it.”
“D’accord. D’accord, here we go.”
Logan gingerly wrapped his legs around Finn and Leo’s bodies, hooking his ankles into Leo’s lower back. His hands gripped around Finn’s neck.
“Rouge, am I choking you?”
“Not now, but you can later.”
“Harz, non-”
“What do you mean, ‘non’? I’ll have you know, I’m totally game for-”
“Guys,” Leo interrupted with a laugh. “Guys, we’re doing it.”
“Oh,” Finn gasped. “Oh, oh, hey! Yes, look at that!” Finn let out a whoop and jostled Logan around his butt. “Let’s fucking go! Gonna carry both my boys around everywhere.”
Logan raised his eyebrows. “I dare you to take two steps.”
“You just watch.” Finn took two shaky steps backward, then spun and attempted to walk around the couch. Each stride was easier and easier, and Logan and Leo watched a pleased grin take over his face. “Would ya look at that?” He reached one arm around to pat at Leo blindly. “Hey, wanna walk down the aisle like this?”
“No,” Leo laughed. “That’d be ridiculous.”
“Not really. I don’t think it’d surprise anybody.”
Logan laughed and kissed him. “Only you, rouge.”
“No,” Finn retorted with a smile. He was just wandering around the apartment now, aimlessly meandering. “You two seem to be enjoying this.”
Leo got a full view of Logan’s twinkling eyes. “Ouais. Ouais, you know, I am.”
Leo tucked his chin over Finn’s shoulder. “Me, too. Maybe we do walk down the aisle like this.”
“That’s what I’m talking about.” Finn did a little shimmy and headed towards their bedroom. “Okay, now let’s go to the park and see how far I can run with you.”
“Non,” Logan said. He was smirking. “I think I want you to toss me around a little more.”
“Oh yeah? Get ready baby.”
And all Logan and Leo could do was laugh as Logan was launched onto their bed.
A little Cubs engagement fic I wrote inspired by @lumosinlove and her amazing OCs. Haz, thank you for this wonderful universe! Go Lions! (And Bruins) 🦁🐻
Leo let out a groan as he stretched in the mid-morning light coming through their curtains, their bedroom warm and a bit stuffy from the summer heat. He felt Logan’s soft hair on his chest, bobbing a little bit with the movement of him arching his back. Logan’s breath was coming out in soft puffs against his pecs, and Leo heard the hitch that signaled he was waking up. Leo smiled, eyes still closed, and felt a hand scratch through his hair.
“Morning, baby.”
Leo turned to look at Finn, who was propped up against some pillows, book in hand and his glasses perched on the end of his nose. He continued carding Leo’s hair back from his head, and Leo tilted his face to kiss his palm gently. “Hi.”
Finn breathed out a soft laugh, pushed his glasses up, then turned to look down at Logan, moving his hand down to rub at Logan’s back. “Up and at ‘em, Tremblay.”
Logan scrunched his eyes and buried his face further into Leo. “Non,” he grumbled. “Nous sommes en vacances. Vacation.”
Finn just laughed, setting his book aside and scooting down the bed to prop his chin on Logan’s strong back muscles. “Breakfast. Gym time. Training.”
“Non.”
“Yon. Professional athletes. We still gotta work out during the summer.”
Logan just groaned even louder, but sighed happily as Finn began peppering kisses down his back, working his way down to the dip of Logan’s waist where the sheets were pooled. “Ouais, feels good, rouge.”
Finn just looked up at Leo, grinning with a glint in his eye, and bit at the fleshy bit of Logan’s skin just beside his spine. Logan hissed, and finally looked up, turning his green eyes on Leo’s face. Leo just bit his lip, grinning, and reached his hand down to press the pad of his thumb to Logan’s mouth, catching on his full lower lip. “Hi, sweetheart.”
Logan closed his eyes and smiled dreamily for a moment, before wiggling his way out of the sheets and scrambling up to straddle Leo’s lap. Leo laughed, opening his arms and letting Logan all but flop down on top of him, tucking his face into his neck where his dark hair was curling as he grew it out. Logan sighed deeply, pressing his lips to Leo’s neck, then reaching one arm behind him. “Fish, ici.”
Finn scoffed, but complied, straddling Leo’s knees and lower thighs and wrapping his arms around Logan’s waist. “Man oh man, you are a bossy one, aren’t you?”
“Non.”
“Uh huh, yon.”
Leo could feel Logan’s grin against his neck, and looked over Logan’s shoulder to Finn, who had been leaning his head against Logan’s hair. He looked up to meet Leo’s eyes, then smiled at him. Leo only had just enough time to smile back before Finn was leaning in and kissing him softly. “Howdy, nutter butter baby.”
Leo just looked at him. “Love you.”
That made Finn really smile, bright and giddy, and he leaned in to kiss Leo harder, firmer. They were abruptly split apart by Logan moving his head back, twisting his torso around and reaching back with his right hand to cup the back of Finn’s neck. He looked between the two of them briefly, kissing Finn gently, then turning to Leo and kissing him short and hard. “Je vous aime.”
A noise escaped Finn that was a mixture of a laugh and a groan, and he suddenly launched himself forward, crushing Logan into Leo’s chest, causing them all to laugh. “What is this, ‘make Finn cry morning’? Stop looking at me like that, holy moley.”
“Oh?” Leo teased.
Finn rolled his eyes. “Not really, but think of my poor heart right now, Knut.”
Leo snorted. “Last name. Guess I’m in real trouble.”
Logan peeked out at him from under his eyelashes. “That sounds like fun.”
Finn patted his hip. “It might just be, Tremblay.” He sat up and rolled out of the bed, his long, summer-freckled torso on display as he stretched. Logan and Leo just watched him. “Alright, now it’s really time to seize the day.” He turned to look at them, his face softening. “Seriously, you keep looking at me like that and we aren’t making it to the gym.”
Logan just looked at him while biting just beside Leo’s nipple, making Leo jump a little in shock. “Lo, we gotta go,” he chastised gently.
“Non.”
“Yes, ouais, we do.”
“Ways, babes, let’s go.”
Logan just grumbled at Finn’s French, pushing himself up on his elbows, kissing Leo and rolling out of his bed. “Café.”
Finn slipped his arms around Logan’s waist, giving his butt a firm pat and a squeeze. “You don’t deserve to call your sugar monstrosity coffee, baby, but I love the spirit.”
Logan rolled his eyes so hard they almost went back into his skull, but he reached up and squeezed Finn’s cheeks anyways. “C’est du cafe.”
Finn narrowed his eyes but accepted Logan’s kiss anyways, his forehead relaxing. They pulled apart, and looked back at Leo, Finn extending his hand. “Le, you coming?”
Leo nodded. “Just a sec, gonna put clothes on.”
Logan tilted his head, giving Leo’s body a once-over. “You don’t need clothes for breakfast. Mais tu es déjà magnifique.”
Leo blushed, but stood to go over to their dresser. “Yeah, but you know how I feel about my bare feet on the floors. I’ll be two minutes.”
Logan seemed to decide this was acceptable and grabbed Finn’s hand, walking out to the kitchen. Leo stood there for a minute staring at the drawers, listening to the coffee machine start up and Logan and Finn’s gentle conversation. He bit his bottom lip and rung his hands briefly, opening up his drawer and bypassing all the socks in the front, reaching back for a pair of blue wool socks Logan had bought him last winter from a wool shop in New York. They’d arrived in a package, along with a green pair, a red pair, and a note that had said, "Found these when I went out shopping with Alex. They’re handmade by a woman from Patagonia, she owns the shop. I know how much you love handmade things, and how your feet get cold in the winter. Je t’aime, mon couer." Leo had cried when he received them, in the middle of the hockey season in February, only having seen Logan for a few days over Christmas and New Year’s, and briefly during the All Star break. That was always the worst part of the season, the stretch of months in between holidays and summer, where they didn’t have many spare moments to visit one another. It never got any easier, even after managing it for a few years now. Missing Logan was a constant ache, a piece of him and Finn not very far, technically speaking, but not present all the same. Video calls, phone calls, and packages were all well and good, but it would never compare to the feeling of Logan waking up on his chest, of Finn’s arms reaching across to hold both of their bodies. Leo guessed he could only feel lucky to have such a loving, tender ache- not everybody got that. Sometimes he wanted to cup that feeling and pull it close to his chest, where he could guard it and keep it warm and light.
Unraveling the pair of socks, he let the black ring box tumble out into his hand. He opened the lid, taking out the two rings to examine them. Finn’s- rose-gold that would match his hair, the woman had said at the store- was engraved with stars around the band; Leo could still remember the rush he felt the first time he kissed Finn on the balcony, and looked up at the fake plastic stars that were somehow still stuck to their ceiling; a surprise from Finn a few years ago, about two weeks after they started dating. He had walked into the apartment to find Leo cooking at the stove, Logan standing behind him with his arms around Leo’s waist, and held up the bag with such a big smile that Leo had almost melted right then and there. They’d eaten and then spent probably far too long putting the stars up on the ceiling, Logan insisting that they try to accurately replicate the Leo constellation. That had been one of Leo’s free-fall moments, as he liked to call them: those moments where he knew he was already in love, even if it was far too early to say it yet.
Shaking himself out of his reverie, he looked back down at the rings, rubbing his thumb over Logan’s. The silver matched his necklace, the fleur-de-lis engravings reflecting his ties to the language he used to love them. In the quietest, most tender moments, even if Finn had no idea what he was saying, he always was gentle when he talked to them in French. Often, when Leo couldn’t sleep, they would both just talk to one another, quietly in the dark. In those tired moments, and in the most difficult ones, it was always harder for Logan to express how he was feeling in English, even though he had been speaking it consistently for years now. Leo cherished that trust, that vulnerability that Logan shared with him more than he could ever put into words, in either language. He would just respond to Logan likewise, kiss his hand, brush his hair back from his face, and get so lost in his deep green eyes he wondered how he would ever get back out- or if he would ever want to. The only shame in getting completely lost in Logan’s eyes would be the fact that, if he did that, he wouldn’t be able to look at Finn’s. He supposed having two pairs of eyes to get lost in forever wasn’t so bad.
They had plans to go out to dinner the following night, at the really nice vegetarian-vegan place Leo had discovered a few months back. Then he was going to take them back to the apartment, where he would make them strawberry shortcake and get down on one knee- and hopefully make them his forever. Not that they already weren’t, but Leo wanted the ceremony, the vows, he wanted his mama and his dad there- he wanted to kiss them and feel that adrenaline of a life-long promise, regardless of the presence of others, and he wanted to dance with them, and take them to bed after-
He inhaled sharply at the last image, his cheeks heating up as he stuffed the rings back in their box and into the socks, shoving them to the back of the drawer. He then pulled on some ankle socks and grabbed some workout clothes from the closet. Logan would probably pout about the fact that he couldn’t press kisses to Leo’s bare chest over breakfast, but Leo didn’t want them thinking he had spent all this time in here just putting on socks. As if on cue, he heard footsteps coming down the hallway and Finn’s tell-tale rhythmic rap of his knuckles on the doorframe. “Le? You alright?”
Leo turned and looked at him, lean body on display, a bit softer from the summer, but still strong. His hands- which Logan and Leo had both agreed that they could stare at forever- were clutching onto the doorframe, making the veins in his forearms strain slightly. Leo bit his lip and smiled, making Finn smile, which quickly turned to confused surprise as Leo rushed forward and gripped his face hard between his palms, kissing him soundly. Leo felt Finn relax and make a soft noise, arms slipping around his waist as he indulged in Leo’s mouth insistently.
“Hey!” came Logan’s voice. “Ce qui se passe? Am I missing something?”
Leo grinned as he pulled away from Finn, who still had a look of surprise on his face. “What-”
Leo just silenced him with another hard kiss and passed him on the way to the kitchen. Logan was sat at the stools by their counter, eyes narrowed playfully and hands clutched around his coffee mug. “Quoi?”
Leo approached him and wrapped Logan’s legs around his waist as Logan’s arms went around his neck. “Quoi? Tu veux des bisous?”
“Ouais, mais-”
Leo didn’t wait for him to finish, lifting Logan up from the seat from underneath his thighs, causing him to let out a laugh in surprise, which was quickly quieted by Leo’s mouth. Logan let out a groan, a little more wanting than Finn’s had been, and tangled his fingers in Leo’s hair indulgently as his legs tightened around Leo’s waist. Leo could feel that simmering fire, always present beneath Logan’s skin, making its way to the surface. He broke their kiss before it became too heady, their lips breaking apart with a light sound. Logan just looked at Leo, eyes flitting rapidly around his face before breaking out into a devilish smile, eyebrows raised.
“Jesus,” came Finn’s voice, a little breathless. “Jesus, Leo. Logan. You two drive me crazy.”
Leo just laughed, depositing Logan back into his chair and scooting around to the fridge to get out ingredients for breakfast. “Come on, y’all, the day awaits us.”
Finn scoffed at Leo’s teasing tone, but went to stand behind Logan with his arms draped over his shoulders, both of them watching Leo’s back as he moved around the kitchen. Leo just smiled to himself where they couldn’t see him, and went about whisking their eggs.
***
Sometimes, Logan would be with Finn and Leo and would wonder if he was actually living in a dream. He would just look at them, at Finn’s bright smile and capable hands that held him the way he liked, at Leo’s soft hair and gentle eyes that always seemed to understand him, and he’d just want to melt. Or fall at their feet, and worship them. Or shatter, overwhelmed by his love for them, their love for him, after so long of feeling like he would never be brave enough to love them the way they deserved. And they deserved everything. If he was dreaming, he decided, he would do everything in his power to stay asleep.
They had talked about getting married before, and their future in general, late at night. The past few years, it had mostly been over FaceTime, Logan feeling like he was oceans away from them in New York, even if it was only just three hours. Still, the hockey season kept them busy, and they clung hard to the few times during the season where they could see each other. More often than not, once or twice a month they found time to see each other for a brief thirty-six hour trip in either New York or Gryffindor, but that got hard in the late winter and spring, when the playoffs were approaching. Those months always, for some reason, sparked more and more conversations about their post-hockey life, about their future as a relationship, as a family. Maybe it was because they felt each other’s absence so distinctly in those moments, or maybe because they thought that, deep down, if they were married, if their relationship was somehow more ‘tied-down’ than it already was, then they could convince the league to not split them up- even though that was highly unlikely. They had pondered it, multiple times, sometimes with tears because it hurt so bad, to love so hard and not be near one another; most of the time though, it was with smiles, Finn describing the perfect garden he would build for Leo, and Leo fantasizing about the large kitchen he wanted and enough guest rooms so that ‘all the Tremblays could stay over at once, and the O’Hara’s and the Knut’s, too’. Logan, more often than not, imagined a dog bed and going to a rescue shelter to find one of those mutts Leo liked to pet in the street, and a swingset, and a big bedroom in a house in the quiet part of town, so Finn could go to bed early undisturbed and Leo maybe wouldn’t have as much trouble sleeping.
For all the times they had talked about getting married, there were only a few times that they had talked about it within the context of them playing on two different teams. Leo had broached the conversation one night, in Logan’s New York apartment, after a regular season game had gone into overtime. Logan thought Leo always looked so good on the ice, with his piercing blue eyes following Logan’s every move. He had felt Finn breathing down his neck a few times against the boards, and it took everything in him not to groan, throw his helmet off, and kiss Finn then and there, hockey be damned. Those games always got Logan’s adrenaline running harder than anything, and afterwards it was only a matter of time before he was ushering Leo and Finn out of Madison Square Garden, or out of the bar where they were with the Lions or the Rangers, and into his apartment, into his bed. Clothes were stripped off, sometimes fast and aggressive, sometimes slow and teasing if Leo and Finn had their way, but always with that gentle reverence, even in the rougher, more grounding touches that Logan loved so much. And with their skin warm against his, their voices in his ear, Finn’s smirk in his eyeline and Leo’s, frankly dangerous, mouth against his thighs, Logan was able to float away for a few hours, with nothing but them, his boys. And they were all his, there with him to overwhelm him and themselves with pleasure and love so blinding he knew, he knew he would forever be changed because he met them, because he loved them, because he got to keep them forever.
It was after one of those nights, when Logan’s desire had finally been satiated- admittedly long after Finn and Leo’s, who had had to resort to just their mouths and hands to finally satisfy him- that Leo had rolled himself over and tucked his face into Logan’s neck, his body heavy on top of Logan’s, peeking out at the both of him with his devastating blue eyes.
“I think I want to get married before we retire.”
Finn, who had been busy stroking up and down Logan’s chest, whose breathing was still heavy in the intensity of his afterglow, abruptly looked up at Leo. “What do you mean, sunshine?”
Leo didn’t answer right away. Logan and Leo were alike in that way, sometimes- in the heaviest moments, it always took them a moment to collect their thoughts. Leo was always more articulate and insightful than Logan was, though. Both Finn and Logan loved that about him, his ability to think so deeply about the most cherished parts of his life. Logan just pushed his nose into Leo’s golden curls, kissing him once, twice, and a third time, holding his lips there and closing his eyes briefly, then glancing at Finn with his mouth still in Leo’s hair. Finally, Leo took a deep breath.
“I just mean… I don’t want to wait for all of us to retire to get married.” He then whimpered slightly and looked away, nose pushing into Logan’s chest.
Finn looked slightly panicked at Leo’s abrupt distress, and climbed over to lay on his stomach beside him, tucking his chin over Leo’s shoulder. “Wow, hey, Le, it’s okay.” When Leo just let out a shaky breath, Finn shook him gently with an arm thrown over his waist. “Leo, Leo, baby, it’s okay. Don’t cry, it’s okay.” He took a deep breath. “I mean, you’re talking about us getting married, there’s nothing that would make me happier than that, quite frankly.”
Leo snorted a little bit at Finn’s humor, but his nose still sounded blocked up. He lifted his head, and Logan saw his eyes bright with tears, a few tracks running down his cheeks. Logan cupped his face tenderly, leaning down to touch their noses together. “Oh, mon soleil, qu'est-ce qui s’est passé?”
“No, nothing, it’s just… I mean, not nothing, I just…” Leo took a shaky breath, and Finn and Logan wrapped him up tighter. “I mean, I know that, Lo, you’re spoken for in New York for a while longer, and Finn and I are going to be in Gryffindor. And I know that even that could change, and I know that it’d be hard, but…” Leo paused, looking at the two of them carefully, so gently that Logan almost could feel himself drowning in him. “I want to marry you two. And I don’t want to wait for hockey to- to let us do that, you know? I don’t want it to be on the league’s terms, I want it to be on ours, and I want to marry you.” Logan held his breath at the last statement, and he thought Finn did, too, by the way in which his throat was bobbing slowly, mouth closed. “I want to marry you. And it’s not ‘just because’, or because it’s just ‘the next step’,” Leo continued, rolling his eyes slightly at himself. “I want to marry you because I want to make that promise to you both. You’re already mine in all the ways that are important, and that matter, but I want that- that unity that comes with the concept of marriage. And I also-” he paused, chewing his lip. “I want to take something that historically hasn’t been meant for us, and make it for us, you know?”
That last part made Logan freeze. Leo had always been much more open and involved in that way in the community than he and Finn had. It was important, for Leo, to always be thinking of the bigger picture. Over the years since they had come out, he had made every effort to take part in the NHL Pride nights, to try and encourage minority youth in hockey, to go and coach training camps and pay for gear to be provided in under-funded communities. Finn and Logan had, of course, gone with him, but it was Leo who had taken the initiative, who had come crying to them one night after a 12-year-old girl had asked him to sign a puck, telling him he was her favorite player, that she played goalie, too, that her and her older sister had painted her goalie pads rainbow colored after she came out to her family. So it made sense, that Leo, laying on them and crying about how much he wanted them, had a desire to challenge the institution of marriage in a very Leo way- with gentleness, with love. Logan sometimes didn’t know what to do with the way Leo carried himself with so much heart- Finn, too.
Finn bit his lip, a little tearful, but smiling. Suddenly, he raised himself onto his knees. “Sit up.”
Logan furrowed his eyebrows, and Leo lifted his face and stared, his mouth slightly ajar. “What?”
“You heard me,” Finn continued, grinning even wider now. It did pretty things to Finn’s freckles, when he smiled like that. “Uppity up, up you get, come sit across from me. Lo, you, too.”
“Finn, I-”
“Leonardonius, I swear, just trust me, and sit up.”
Logan and Leo complied, Leo sitting cross-legged, Logan with his legs sprawled, one draping over Finn’s, and leaning into Leo’s side.
Suddenly, Leo’s eyes widened. “Finn, are you-”
Finn waved his hand. “No, no I’m not proposing… yet.” He gave them each a pointed look. “I just didn’t want you crying over something that, frankly, does not deserve for you to be sad over.” He paused, leaning over to brush his thumbs under Leo’s eyes with a kiss to his nose. “Even though you still look very pretty when you cry.” That got Leo to smile, and his posture relaxed slightly, putting more of his weight on Logan.
Logan shuffled a bit, nudging Finn’s thigh gently with his foot. “Allez, rouge, what is it?”
Finn had a hand on each of them, his palms running up and down Logan’s calf and Leo’s knee. “I’ve thought a lot about us, recently. Getting married, that is.” He tilted his head, smiling at them. “I want us to get married, and I think that, if we want to do it before we all retire, I’d like that. I- I think that, like what Leo said… I want you in that way before we retire. And then after, or after at least one of us does retire…” He paused, sniffling slightly. This time, Leo leaned forward and brushed a thumb under his eye. “Maybe we get a house? And- and a tiny human? Or two? Or three, we could be matching. Three dads, three kids, ya know? And a dog, and maybe even chickens! I bet you’d love the fresh eggs, Le, and Lo, baby, you’d look so sexy raking leaves in our back yard, in overalls and plaid, like our very own lumberjack-”
Logan couldn’t take it anymore; he burst out laughing, leaning forward and tackling Finn onto the bed, kissing all over his face. Finn was laughing, too, arms and legs wrapped around him, and Logan felt a warm palm stroking up and down his back. Leo.
Logan scrambled up, forcing his way into Leo’s lap and kissing all over his face, too, until Finn dragged Leo’s face to his for a deep kiss of his own, ending in a burst of kisses to Leo’s cheek. They were all smiling so hard, those kinds of smiles that hurt their cheeks and scrunched Leo and Finn’s noses in the most adorable way. They were kissing each other, and smiling, and laughing, and Logan thought that if this was how happy they were when they just talked about proposing, and marriage, he couldn’t imagine how happy he would feel when it actually happened.
That had been March, three months ago, before the playoffs. Logan was almost thankful that they had each gotten knocked out in the second round, so as not to have to play one another, but mostly because Logan, perhaps selfishly, savored these long summers more than he could put into words. After all, he wanted to spend more than one night engaged to them before parting ways to go back to his New York apartment. He wanted to bask in that love for months before the season inevitably pulled them apart again. And he wanted to propose to them in their home. His apartment in the city was nice, sure, but it held nothing on what they had created in Gryffindor: the blanket Leo’s mom had made them slung over the sofa, Finn’s books stacked on every available table surface, Leo’s pan collection hanging in the kitchen, the herb garden by the window that Finn painstakingly took care of. Logan wanted to ask them to marry him where they fell in love, where he kissed Leo for the first time, where he and Finn began their middle-of-the-night whiskey tradition again, where he made love to them for the first time, all together, insatiable and high on how in love they were.
The late afternoon sun shone through slightly dusty, stained-glass windows as they were finishing up at the local book store, after having gone to their weights session and then spent the rest of the day wandering around the city. They had gone to the park, where Finn had sat up against a tree and let Logan lay his head in his lap, Leo sprawled beside him on a blanket, the both of them listening as Finn read to them from his and Leo’s latest novel. After finishing the last chapter, Leo had suggested they go to their favorite second-hand book store, which Finn had readily agreed with. Logan was just happy to follow them and listen to them bicker gently over plots, characters, thematic elements- it didn’t matter what they were talking about, really. Logan just loved to be surrounded by their voices.
Now, he listened and watched as the light from the stained glass casted a purplish hue on Leo’s golden hair, which captured and reflected the color so well. They both looked so good, Leo with a casual white short-sleeved button down and peach shorts, Logan’s fleur-de-lis against his strong, tan chest; Finn with a green long-sleeved shirt, open at the collar and made from some ultra-light, wicking material he had taken to recently, and denim shorts, which he had definitely had since college. Leo said something to Finn, which made him turn to Leo, that look of slightly surprised amusement on his face appearing like it always did when Leo said something snarky to someone. He was good at catching people off guard, his wit so sharp in contrast to his normally gentle and sweet disposition. It seemed he had caught Finn particularly by surprise this time, because it took Finn a second to process what he had said before bursting out laughing so hard he had to close his eyes. He turned his face into Leo’s neck, snorting, and pressed two hard kisses to his skin, one to his neck and one to his cheek. Leo turned his face so his nose brushed Finn’s ear, giggling in his ear. Logan felt like he could look at them forever, immortalized in this moment with their laughter and their smiles.
He looked down at himself for a brief moment, at the rust-colored shirt Finn had once told him looked good on him a few years ago, in New York, and at his black shorts Leo had once unzipped with his teeth, claiming that they ‘revealed way too much leg, sweetheart, it’s indecent’. Sometimes, Logan wondered how he even compared with their beauty; yes, he knew he was attractive by conventional standards, but beauty was more than that. He was a bit sullen, quiet and intimidating at first, and stared hard at everyone without realizing it. Finn and Leo were effortlessly beautiful in their mannerisms; Finn walked into a room with a smile so wide it drew people to him, Logan no exception, and there was no other way to describe Leo other than that the sun followed him. Or maybe he was the sun- he was certainly Logan’s. He couldn’t compete with that, would never be able to. It wasn’t so much an insecurity, per se, but more of an awe at the way that his boys carried themselves, how they carried him with them, how their beauty somehow included him in its sphere without singling him out. He existed simultaneously alongside it and within it, and at the center of it all was this infinite amount of love circulating him, drowning him, allowing him to exist in the same plane as them forever and ever. Logan at the same time was overwhelmed by it and knew exactly what to do to keep it close. They gave him their love and their beauty, and he in return gave them his, in his own way.
Logan hadn’t realized he had been spacing out staring at them until Leo’s face appeared in front of his, brow furrowed. “You okay, sweetheart?”
Logan shook his head briefly. “Ouais, mon couer.” He brought his hand up to Leo’s cheek, and Leo placed his hand over his. “Tu es si beau.”
That brought a blush to Leo’s cheeks, and he squeezed Logan’s hand and bent down to kiss the top of his head a bit bashfully. Logan reached a hand up to scratch his neck, holding him there for a moment. He then felt another presence at his side, an arm around each him and Leo. Finn.
“Hey, hey, there, baby. My baby, hi.”
Logan smiled at Finn’s rambling, at the kiss he pressed to Logan’s cheek. “Rouge.”
Finn’s body relaxed like it always did when Logan called him that, his head turning to rest right next to Leo’s on top of Logan’s. Leo still had his nose in Logan’s hair, all three of them still and embracing in the quiet, emptying book store.
Truth be told, Logan knew that they had all felt the shift since that conversation in Logan’s New York apartment. They held each other with a similar giddy, insatiable grip to the one they had when they first started dating. Now though, it was deeper, more developed, with stronger bones, and somehow more passionate than it had ever been. Logan had thought it had been because the season had finally ended and they were all together again, but now he realized it wasn’t just that. They sometimes loved so fiercely, yet so gently, that it was almost like whiplash. They were unsettled, but not in the way that would knock them off kilter. No, they were unsettled in the way that meant they were ready for more. They were aching for it, and Logan knew that he would have to do something about it.
Tomorrow, after they had dinner at the new vegetarian-vegan place that Leo loved, he would bring them back to the apartment, their favorite chocolate cake from the local restaurant down the street waiting in the fridge, maybe some wine- and Logan would get down on one knee and ask them to be his.

Leo was just finishing putting the finishing touches on their supper when he felt two hands grab at his hips. “You need any help finishing up here, baby?”
Leo turned and pressed a kiss to Finn’s head. “No, sweetheart, but thank you. Just finishing off the steak with some butter and herbs, and the roasted veggies are in the oven staying warm.” He shut off the stove and set the steak on the wooden steak board to rest. He stuck a thermometer in. Perfectly medium rare. He thought for a second, then turned around and draped his arms over Finn’s shoulders. Finn was in an old blue knit sweater of Leo’s, and he looked adorably soft in the cool summer night. “You and Lo set the table for me? There are some nice candles my mama sent us from the market, you could light them, if you wanted?”
Finn wiggled his eyebrows. “You trying to romance us, or something? Trying to take us to bed later?”
Leo snorted. “Something like that.” He jerked his head. “Go on, get Lo, he’s in our room getting a sweatshirt. I’ll just let the steak rest and bring it out.” He pressed a kiss to Finn’s mouth and turned back towards dinner, smiling to himself. God, he could hardly wait for tomorrow. But tonight, he wanted to enjoy this last night of them hanging on this precipice, basking in the anticipation of being engaged, even if neither of his boys knew.
***
Logan could hear both Finn and Leo talking in the kitchen from where he was in the bedroom, pulling Finn’s dark gray, almost black, crewneck sweatshirt over his head. Finn had just been in to grab Leo’s sweater, and had left smelling like a mixture of himself and Leo, combining and making Logan’s head feel dizzy. Now, he knew that he smelled like himself and Finn, and reached for Leo’s cologne on the dresser to spray a little on the neckline of the sweatshirt. Perfect.
As he set the bottle back down, his sock drawer caught his eye. Buried in the back, wrapped in one of his beanies, was the box with Leo and Finn’s rings. Unable to resist the temptation, he briefly glanced at the kitchen, seeing Finn walk up to put his hands on Leo’s hips, and opened the drawer. God, they were so gorgeous, and they’d look even more so with these rings on their fingers.
Logan opened the box, running his thumb briefly over both of them. Leo’s was pure gold, with a small blue sapphire, slightly deeper than his eyes, embedded in the band, soleil inscribed on the inside. Finn’s was a rose-gold- the lady at the shop said the particular shade would match his hair- and a dark champagne diamond- the lady said it would match his eyes. Rouge was inscripted on the inside of his. Logan peeked out at the kitchen again, and saw Finn, all cozy in Leo’s sweater, and Leo, now in Finn's old Harvard sweatshirt, with his blond curls, kissing each other so gently and smiling so lovingly. Logan ran his thumb over the rings one more time before they could catch him, looked down at them, and then closed the box as he heard Finn summon him to set the table.

Supper, Leo had to admit, had been a roaring success. He loved having time in the off season to finally cook how he wanted, to take his full time with recipes. He deserved it, the food deserved it, and his boys certainly did. Afterwards, his boys had batted his hands away as he tried to clear the table, and cleaned the kitchen with light-hearted chatter. Leo, a glass of red wine in front of him, was content to just watch and participate from the sidelines. Especially if it meant that one of his boys would lean over- Finn much more easily than Logan, no matter how much Logan grumbled that he was not that short- and kiss him on the forehead. Eventually, they finished up, Logan coming to sit beside Leo at one of the stools, Finn standing across the counter from them, both with a glass in their hands, looking delicate and breakable compared to their strong fingers.
Finn looked at him, taking a sip from his glass and peering out over the rim. “Thank you for dinner, nutter butter, it was delicious.”
Leo smiled, cheeks heating up like they did every time one of them complimented him so blatantly. “Thank you.”
Finn just smiled brighter, and reached across to pinch his cheek. “Aw, look at you, so rosy. You’re so pretty, peanut.”
Logan pressed up against Leo’s other side, placing a wet kiss on this cheek. “Ouais, mon soleil, tres mignon.” He looked across at Finn, reaching across to grab at his hand. “Et toi, mon rouge. Si beau.” Finn just took Logan’s hand and kissed it, gazing up through his eyelashes.
Leo watched in adoration, until suddenly Logan got a strange look on his face. It was nervous, sheepish, but he was also biting his lip in excitement. Leo saw Finn straighten up and squeeze Logan’s hand harder. “Lo?”
Logan stood up and tugged on Finn’s hand. “Viens ici.”
Finn came around the counter, allowing Logan to push him into the seat beside Leo. He took both of their hands, kissed each of them. Leo felt himself getting a little lightheaded, his breathing beginning to pick up.
Logan looked up at them, his eyelashes dark, his eyes wanting and his smile bashful. He squeezed each of their hands once more before stepping back. “Ouais, d’accord.” He felt around in the pockets on his dark shorts, taking something out into his hands… and sinking down on one knee.
Leo heard Finn gasp beside him, and his breathing was really picking up now. Finn’s thigh and shoulder were warm against him, and out of the corner of his eye he saw Finn bring a hand up to cover his mouth, a soft 'oh' escaping him. Leo leaned heavily into his side, but he couldn’t look away from Logan, who was smiling up at them and slowly opening a box, two rings nestled inside.
Logan took a deep breath before beginning. “Ouais, je… I had a whole speech prepared. I was going to do this tomorrow, after dinner, but you two just looked so beautiful just now, and I had to…” He huffed, obviously frustrated with the English. Leo caught his eye, and nodded, whispering a soft 'bon, continue'. Logan inhaled and exhaled with a shudder, before looking between them resolutely. Finn still hadn’t moved a muscle, really, but Leo could feel him shaking beside him as Logan continued. “I never thought I would have this, this overwhelming kind of love. Not because I didn’t think it was out there, but because I was too afraid to want it for myself.” He looked to Finn. “Rouge, you made me realize for the first time what it is to want someone so fully, so completely. I loved you the second I walked through that doorway my first day of college, and I have spent every moment since loving you and wanting you more than anything.” Tears were forming in his eyes as he smiled, gaining confidence as he spoke. “Je t’aime, mon rouge. I love you so much.” He turned those beautiful eyes to Leo, and Leo felt like he was going to fall off of his chair. “Mon soleil,” Logan said, his eyes going so soft, his head tilting. Leo, in his periphery, saw Finn turn to look at him, too. “You taught me how to be brave. You’re braver than anyone I think I have ever known. You showed me how to want, how to love anyway while still being scared, and how I can be scared and brave at the same time.” He looked back to Finn briefly, eyes darting between them. “I don’t- I don’t think I ever would have been brave enough to love, without you, soleil… to love anyone they way that I want.” He bit his lip. “Je t’aime, mon soleil. I love you, and I want you.”
Leo didn’t know what to do with himself, and he felt Finn grab his hand as he closed his eyes and let a few tears escape. It was release, relief, and love so profound that he was overflowing. He opened his eyes at Finn’s squeeze of his hand, looking at him. Finn leaned over, pressing a kiss to his forehead, and then they both turned to look at Logan with their temples touching. Logan was smiling up at them, then looked down at the rings.
“Je veux passer le reste de ma vie avec vous deux. I… I want to spend the rest of my life loving you, deserving you, and caring for you. And I want to love you in the next life, and the next, and every one after it. I don’t ever want to stop loving you, and I hope you want the same. Et alors, s'il vous plaît…” At this, Logan looked up from the ring box, into their eyes. They were both frozen under his gaze. “...épousez-moi, mes amours?”
Finn took a shuddering breath in, a whimper escaping him as tears escaped from his eyes. And Leo…
Leo looked at Logan, down on one knee, jumping the gun because he couldn’t wait for tomorrow, when Leo was also going to propose. And Leo was so overwhelmed by this, how preposterous and silly and so them this whole situation was, that he let out at breathless laugh.
Logan, still smiling, looked at him, brows furrowed. “Soleil?”
Leo laughed again. “Wait here.”
And he stood up and walked out of the room.
***
Logan watched as Leo stepped into their bedroom, still on one knee, as confused as he had ever been. His brow furrowed, his breathing harsh. He had been so sure that Leo would want this. After all, Leo had been the one to suggest getting married before they retired. He wouldn’t say no, surely. Right?
Finn’s harsh breathing snapped Logan out of his reverie. Normally so talkative, Finn was rendered speechless, his fingers resting lightly over his mouth, face flushed with his tears, eyes wide with… panic? Nerves? Logan didn’t know, but he looked like he would fall over and faint.
“Rouge…”
“Lo,” Finn responded, breathless and soft, hand coming rest at his collarbone. “I- do you…?” He looked frantically at their bedroom before looking back at Logan.
Logan shook his head. “Rouge, no, I- I don’t-” He breathed in harshly, a soft noise escaping him as he turned to look at the door to their bedroom, voice tight. “Soleil?”
“Ouais, yeah, sorry. I’m coming.” Leo sounded a bit breathless, and a bit… giddy?
Logan was so confused.
After another few moments, Leo came through the door, and came to stand over them. He looked so tall from the floor, Logan thought, so beautiful, like an angel. But he was shaking, red-cheeked and smiling, blue eyes shining and a bit mischievous. Both Logan and Finn looked at him, bewildered, until he opened his palm to reveal a box in the center, and opened it with his thumb.
Finn made a slight yelping sound, slapping his hand hard over his mouth. Logan’s breath caught in his throat, vision going a bit fuzzy as Leo reached down and gently pulled him up by the hand. Logan let himself by guided by Leo’s warm palm into the seat beside Finn, their positions now swapped. Leo kissed his cheek, then Finn’s… and then sank on one knee in front of them. Unlike Logan, who had taken a moment to collect his thoughts, Leo just started talking, happy and energized and so in love.
“I was also going to do this tomorrow, after dinner,” he started, with a wink at Logan. “I was going to take you out to dinner and bring you back and make strawberry shortcake…” Logan heard himself and Finn each let out tearful chuckles. “...but then you sank down on one knee, Lo, and I just thought… this is so ridiculous. This is so silly, and out of order, and so us that it’s perfect, and I wouldn’t have either of you any other way.” He turned to Finn first, who was shaking so hard against Logan’s side. “Finn, sweetheart, I… I remember the first night you kissed me so vividly. Your gentle eyes and hands and words, always trying so hard to give your all to me, to Logan, even if it was hard. Even if it hurt. And you gave yourself to me so fully, and have continued to do so every day, and I love you. There’s nothing else to say other than I love you. And Logan…” He shifted his gaze, and Logan could do nothing but stare helplessly back into his baby blues. “Oh, Logan, honey, I wanted you so desperately I didn’t know what to do with myself. You burn, for yourself, but especially for us. And you were burning for me, and for Finn, and when you finally let yourself have us, I… I was so warm, sweetheart. You make me feel so warm, and I love you. I love you, I love you both so much.” Leo took a deep breath and settled his shoulders. “I told you I knew you were mine in all the ways that mattered, that you are, but that I want to marry you because I want that unity. And while that’s true, more than anything I just want to marry you because you're home. You’ve been home now, for so long now, and I want a marriage with you to be part of the foundation of that home. I know marriage is sometimes silly, and arbitrary, and- and a piece of paper…” Leo rolled his eyes at himself as he started to cry. “I just- I want it with you anyways. I want to write you vows, I want our families there, I want to show our world how much I love you, how devoted I am to you. I want that official promise because I believe you deserve it, and I want you to have all that you deserve.” He looked down at the rings, up at them, and smiled, crinkling his adorable nose in a way that made Logan’s heart skip a beat in his chest. “I love you, and I want you forever. Marry me. Will you marry me?”
Logan didn’t know what to expect, and he knew Leo didn’t either, from the way he was now holding himself slightly stiffly, but they didn’t expect Finn to outburst with a high-pitch, dramatic sob. “Oh my God!” He fanned his face, then pressed both of his hands over his face, fingertips meeting at the bridge of his nose. “Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!”
Immediately, Leo and Logan burst out laughing. It bubbled out of Logan’s chest, taking him by surprise as he gently knelt on the floor in front of Leo. The floor shook as Finn fell down clumsily beside them, causing them to laugh harder. Logan looked at Leo, pressing his fingers to Leo’s wrist where he was still clutching the opened ring box. “Oh, soleil…”
“Marry me,” Leo repeated, looking between the two of them. Finn’s eyes were moving back and forth, from their faces to the ring boxes they were still clutching.
Logan looked up at Leo, biting his lip. “I asked you first.”
That had Leo laughing a tearful laugh, shaking his whole body. Logan looked at him in the eyes, holding his gaze.
“Veux-tu m’epouser, mon soleil?” He turned to Finn. “Et toi, mon rouge? Marry me, Fish.”
“Oh Jesus,” Finn said, before he was lurching forward and pulling Logan into a kiss. “Yes, oh God, baby, yes.” Finn kissed him sloppily, indulgently, before eventually letting them part.
Logan turned back to Leo, Finn’s hand still at his neck. Leo was nodding, biting his lips in that devastating way. “Oui, sweetheart. Yes.”
Logan heard Finn’s breath hitch as he and Leo leaned in to kiss each other, smiling too much to make it last long. Logan pressed a series of kisses to Leo’s flushed cheeks, then leaned back and took the rings out of the box. Shaking, he put them on each of their fingers, kissing their hands after each one. Leo let out a breath. “Oh, Lo, it’s beautiful.”
Finn, still crying too much for complete sentences, just let out a tearful 'baby' and clutched his hand to his chest, leaning over and pressing his forehead to Logan’s with a groan. After a moment, Logan felt a nudge at his other side. He turned to find Leo still on one knee, holding the ring box out for him.
“Your turn, Lo,” Leo said gently. He grinned, then looked to Finn. “And your turn again, I guess.”
Finn let out a choked sob again, and Leo and Logan looked at him and laughed. “Oh my God, oh my God, this is really happening.”
Leo shook his head. “You’ll be fine honey.” He held the box more insistently out to them. “Marry me.”
Logan smiled so hard he shook with it. “Ouais, soleil. Ouais.”
Leo leaned in and kissed him hard. Logan had a flashback to the first time he had kissed Leo in public, right in New York City, ‘first kiss day’, as Finn had called it. Leo, normally so gentle with them, gripping him and holding so tightly that he felt wound up and gooey all at once.
They broke apart after a moment, and Leo took Logan’s ring out of the box, showing him the engraving on the inside before slipping it on his finger. Logan admired it on his finger for a moment before his attention was diverted by another sound from Finn. “Oh, mon rouge,” he laughed.
“Sorry, sorry, I’m just- I’m getting proposed to twice today, it’s a lot, okay?” He looked at Leo, who was looking at him with his eyebrows raised in amusement and still holding out Finn’s ring to him. That seemed to sober Finn up, and he whimpered. “Oh. Oh Leo-”
Leo softened. “Oh, honey, c’mere.”
Leo leaned in, kissing Finn softly on the lips, thumbs tracing under his eyes where the tear tracks were. He parted after a few moments and took Finn’s hand to slip his second ring on him.
Leo chuckled. “Well, look at you. Collecting them all.”
Finn wiped under his eyes. “Oh God, I’m going to have to put them on a necklace or something. I don’t know if they’ll all eventually fit, with my-” His eyes widened briefly, before he started crying again. “Oh, my wedding ring, oh God!”
Leo shushed him gently, pulling him under his arm and kissing his forehead. He opened his other arm for Logan to tuck himself under. Logan went willingly, one arm around Finn and Leo each, clutching them close. Finn was still shaking with his happy tears, although now they were a bit quieter than before.
Suddenly, Finn looked up. “I for sure thought I was going to propose first. I was going to go to the jeweler next week.”
Logan shrugged. “We beat you, Fish.”
“Twice,” Leo added, jostling them both lightly.
“Hm,” Finn sighed, leaning his head heavily onto Leo’s chest and running his hand up and down Logan’s side. “I love you. I can’t wait to marry you.”
Logan felt himself shiver in excitement. “Moi aussi, mon couer.”
“Yeah,” Leo said softly. “Gonna marry you forever.”
That set Finn off again. “Peanut, you can’t just say that!”
“I really didn’t think you’d react like this, sweetheart, I’m sorry.”
“I was not planning on getting proposed to twice in one evening!”
Logan rolled his eyes playfully. “Oh, mon rouge.” He looked up at Leo. “Hey, Knut?”
Leo looked down at him, eyebrows raised. “Uh oh. What’s with the last name?”
Logan just bit his lip, glancing at him, then at Finn, who was suddenly rapt with attention and sitting up straighter. “O’Hara.”
“Oh God,” Finn whispered.
Logan bit at Leo's chest through his shirt, and widened his eyes in a way he knew drove them crazy. “Can I be in trouble?”
Finn groaned and Leo looked down at him, eyes darkening and Logan smiled mischievously. Beside them, Finn cursed. “Fucking gorgeous, both of you. Gonna be in trouble for the rest of our lives.”
That got Leo alert, and he scrambled up, dragging them both with him. Logan laughed as he was ushered into their bedroom and thrown gently on their bedspread. They climbed after him, Finn immediately attacking his mouth, and Leo working a bruise into his neck. Finn pulled back, then looked down at Leo, amused. “Careful there, Knut, or you'll be in trouble, too.”
Leo laughed, blue eyes shining and a singular dimple appearing, before leaning over and kissing Finn as well. As he watched them, with their smiles, and their mouths on him and each other, Logan thought that there, in that moment, he was the most in love he had ever been.
***
Finn awoke the next morning to the sound of rain outside of the window, the room cooler than normal due to a drop in temperature. He breathed in heavily and ran a hand over his face, stopping when he felt cool metal brush his nose. Oh. Oh man.
He jerked his hand away, staring at the two rings, identical in color but unique in embellishments, that his boys had slipped on his fingers the night before. He almost got all worked up again, still riding the absolute rollercoaster of emotions of being proposed to not once, but twice in the same night. He hadn't been kidding when he told them it had been a lot: Logan, who at one point he never thought he'd have, kneeling before him and asking to be his forever; Leo, who showed up out of the blue and somehow made everything better, lighter, so brave, just like Logan had said, jumping when he was scared and simultaneously landing in their arms and catching them in his.
Finn didn't know how he'd got so lucky, squinting across the pillow at Logan and Leo, the latter of which was spooning Logan with an arm around his middle. Logan had one hand on Leo, the other on Finn's bicep, their legs tangled together. Last night had been rolling pleasure, weighed down with so much love that Finn didn't want it to end. They didn't, really, until they physically couldn't anymore. And even then they'd stayed up so long just kissing, evidence of which lingering on all of their necks. Finn reached out and touched a bruise on Logan's neck, making him stir and open his eyes. Leo, perhaps sensing the change in Logan's breathing, also shifted, lifting his head to look at Finn over Logan's back. Finn just stared for a few seconds, until Logan reached the hand with his engagement ring on it out to cup his jaw, Leo tracking the movement with his beautiful eyes.
“Rouge, ici.”
“Yeah, sweetheart, come here.”
And so Finn went, pressing his nose into Logan's neck, hand reaching across to grip Leo's torso. He kissed Logan's chest, took Leo's hand from around Logan's waist and kissed that, too, and heard Leo press a kiss to the back of Logan's neck. This, Finn decided, was more valuable than anything else in the world. His boys, in their bed, in the home they created, living the life they shared, with a promise to continue to do so for eternity.
Finn, for one, couldn't think of a happier ending, and so closed his eyes to be lulled back to sleep by the sound of their breathing.
