“Okay, checklist,” Leo said, pushing his wet hair back from his face. He counted off on his fingers. “Chicken thighs. Zucchini. Got all the stuff for the sauce here at home, so there’s nothing to worry about there. Summer squash. Those nice sweet onions, those are good. Oh, shallots, too, actually, I’ll add those to the sauce, now that I think about it.”

Finn absentmindedly carded his fingers through Leo’s hair to help him rinse off his conditioner as he continued to babble. “That nice bread from the bakery, baby?” he suggested.

“Oo, yes, good one, Finn.” Leo reached for their exfoliatoing pad and the soap bar. “But I’ll have to go after going to the grocery store. The bakery is in the other direction, and I want to get the chicken thighs marinating and in the fridge as soon as possible.”

“Soleil,” Logan said, reaching up to wash Leo’s back. “Are you sure you don’t want me to run to the bakery, mon coeur?”

Leo shook his head. “No, thanks, it’s okay. I’ll need your help here. Besides, they take a new batch out around one, so I’ll go to pick it up then, fresh, before we head to Finn’s parent’s place at three.”

Finn smiled. “You’ve got a whole schedule, don’t you?”

“I’ve gotta. I told your mom I’d make this dinner for her so she and your aunt could relax.”

“Yes, but are you relaxed, baby?”

“No, but that’s okay. I like to cook!”

“Okay.” Finn kissed his cheek. “Want me to help you with your hair?”

“No, thanks, honey. I’ll rewet it and do it before we leave. I’m gonna go, gotta arrive when the supermarket opens. I love you.” And with a kiss to each of their cheeks, he was out of the shower and rushing to put his clothes on.

Finn followed his body with his eyes until he couldn’t see him anymore before turning to look at Logan. He was finishing washing himself, also staring at where Leo had walked off to. Logan noticed him watching and smiled softly. “Bien?”

“Oo-ways,” Finn said, wrapping his arms around Logan’s waist and kissing him briefly. “You think he’ll be okay?”

Logan nodded. “Ouais, just stressed.” He looked again towards the open bathroom door. “I think his hair is going to bother him later.”

“Mm.” Finn stepped back to open the shower door and grab their towels. “He doesn’t like it when it gets all crazy.”

“I think it’s cute.”

“Me, too.” He handed Logan his towel with a grin. “You remember the first time we saw it unstyled?”

“Ouais,” Logan laughed. “He was so embarrassed.”

“Adorable, I think.”

Logan hummed in agreement and Finn bit his lip fondly at the memory. It was just after Logan had moved in and they had an away game. Leo normally didn’t wash his hair on the road so he didn’t have to bring his products with him, but after a particularly sweaty game and a dip in the hotel pool, he was wincing every time he looked in the mirror. It was safe to say his curls had dried into a gorgeous, golden mess. He’d been sheepish, but all Logan and Finn had wanted to do was tug each and every freshly-washed spiral. Since then, he had gotten less ashamed of just letting his hair go, but for fancy events, he still liked to have it shiny and defined and soft. Finn, for one, couldn’t say he hated it.

“Fish,” Logan said as he was flipping through their drawers for a pair of boxers, snapping Finn out of the memory. “I make breakfast for when Le gets back, you iron our shirts?”

Ironing his boyfriends’ shirts while one of them made breakfast shirtless, awaiting the other’s arrival. If only college Finn could see him now. He grinned broadly. “Sounds good, baby.”

“Okay. Okay, okay, cool, chicken is marinated, zucchini and squash are roasted, we’ll just have to heat those up under the broiler at your mom’s so it gets crispy. Her oven has two rows, yes?”

“Yes, sunshine.”

“Good, good. Because I’ll need to cook the chicken through, then set it to broil to get the skin crispy, and that’s when I’ll put the veggies in, too. Salad dressing is prepared, fresh veggies are prepped and in boxes, yes, Lo?”

“Ouais, mon amour.”

“Good, good. Oh! And the pie’s in the carrier, yes, sweetheart?”

“Yeah, baby, I put it in the fridge.”

“Awesome, we’ll have to remember the container of homemade whipped cream, remind me, please.” Leo turned away from the counter and clapped his hands. “Awesome.” He walked around to kiss their lips in bursts. “Thank you, thank you for helping, I love you.”

“Ouais, mon coeur,” Logan said, brushing his fingers over Leo’s hands that were cupping his face. “Love you, too.”

“How about a nap, baby?” Finn suggested. “We went to the gym super early, and you didn’t sleep well last night. We’ve got time.”

But Leo shook his head. “No, I’ve gotta go to the bakery and be back in time to do my hair.”

Finn sighed. “Baby, a half hour? Please? We’ll sleep with you, I’ll rub your back.”

Leo considered. “What time is it?”

“Just before noon, sunshine. You’ll still have time to go to the bakery.” At Leo’s skeptical look, Finn put on his best puppy eyes and pout. “Please?”

Leo looked at him and took a deep breath. “Fine.”

“Le.”

“Sorry, sorry, honey.” He reached for Finn’s hand to draw him closer and pressed their foreheads together. “I’m sorry, Finn.”

Finn just kissed his cheek and took his hands. “Don’t be, baby, just come rest with us.”

He and Logan ushered Leo into their bedroom and under the covers. Logan crawled up Leo’s body to hover over him. “You want to be in the middle, soleil?”

Leo shook his head. “No, thanks. Too hot.”

“D’accord.” Logan pressed a soft kiss to his forehead. He reached across Leo’s chest for his phone on the night stand. “I’ll set a timer. Thirty minutes, ouais?”

Finn kissed his shoulder. “Yup. Thirty minutes, then we’ll go to the bakery.”

“No, no, it’s okay I can go-”

“Sunshine,” Finn laughed. “We’ve got nothing else to do, and we like going to the bakery with you. You’re all picky about the bread you choose, it’s cute.”

He heard Leo let out a breath. “Okay.” A pause. “I like going to the bakery with you, too.”

“Mm,” Logan hummed. He shifted in Finn’s arms to tuck Leo under his chin. Their legs were all tangled under the sheets. “Sleep, mon chou. We’ll see you in a half hour.”

***

Finn woke up feeling as though he’d slept a century. Logan was warm against his chest., and he’d rolled over to tuck his nose under Finn’s neck. Finn stretched his toes and arched his back. Logan, perhaps sensing his movements, let out a deep breath and blinked up slowly. “Salut.”

“Hi.” Finn arched his back and breathed out when it cracked. “Good nap?”

“Mm.”

“Good.” He lifted shook the blankets away too look at his watch, then jerked. “Shit. Shit, shit, shit.”

“Quoi?”

“Shit, it’s almost two. Fuck.” He frantically looked beside him to wake Leo up, then realized that side of the bed was empty and cold. It was quiet, save for the spatter of rain that had apparently started up when they were sleeping. “Le’s not here.”

Logan, who’d sat up and away, stood to go poke his head out the door. “Soleil?” he called. When there was no answer, he walked to peek into the other rooms of their New York apartment. “Soleil?”

Finn flapped around for his phone, finding it buried under the blankets near his feet. In their group chat, there was a text from Leo from about forty-five minutes previous. Overslept. Ran to bakery, hopefully the good stuff isn’t gone.

Don’t worry if it isn't, sunshine, Finn wrote. We’ll figure something out.

He blinked the sleep out of his eyes before swinging to stand up and following Logan out the bedroom door. “Leo went to the bakery. He overslept.”

Logan bit his lip with a furrowed brow. “Oh.”

“Yeah.”

“He’s gonna arrive and be…”

“Yeah.” Finn opened his arms. “C’mere, ten.”

Logan sighed and pressed himself to Finn closely. “He doesn’t have to work so hard.”

“I know, baby, but he likes to cook. He was so happy in the kitchen this morning.” Finn carded Logan’s hair back to look him in the eye. “Le just wants it to be good.”

“Ouais. Je sais,” Logan whispered, resting his head back on Finn’s shoulder.

“Hm.” Finn kissed his forehead. “We can help him, though. All we have to do is load the cooler and change.”

“His hair.”

Finn winced. “Oh, yeah, shit, that’s gonna make him-”

But he was interrupted by keys scratching at the door and a soaked-through Leo tumbling through. He was clutching his waterproof backpack that Logan got him for Christmas closely. His rain jacket kept his torso dry, but water seemed to have dripped down his neck to his shirt neckline, and his pants and shoes were dripping onto the floor. The curls on his head were frizzy and fluffy, a little static. He was looking at them with wide eyes. “It just started pouring, but I’ve got the bread. And I bought some of those nice dips they have to go with it.” He kicked off his shoes and slid along their wooden floor to the counter. “Okay, we have to pack the cooler, and change, and-” Leo froze, hand going up to half-cover his mouth.

“Le?” Finn asked.

“Shit,” Leo said, softer, then more loudly, “Shit, shit, shit, my hair.” Before Logan or Finn could stop him, he was slipping once again towards the bathroom, catching himself on the doorframe to stumble in front of the mirror. He tugged at his curls roughly. “Oh my God, look, they’re a disaster! Oh fuck.”

“Leo,” Logan said carefully. “It’s okay, they’ll be fine, mon soleil.”

“No, because then tomorrow they’ll be tangled and they’ll just be worse until I wash them again. But I can’t wash them for a few days because it isn’t good for curly hair, and-” Leo let out a frustrated noise. “I can’t go to your mother’s looking like this, Finn, I just can’t do it.”

“Whoa,” Finn said. He walked into the bathroom and turned Leo by the shoulders to look more squarely at him and Logan. “First off, you always look good, so we don’t want to hear that sort of talk about the love of our lives, okay?” Leo looked like he wanted to retort, but instead bit the inside of his cheek. Finn brought his hands up to cup Leo’s neck. “And second, we know your curl routine baby, we’ve helped you do it a thousand times.”

“Ouais,” Logan said. He was taking a spray bottle and Leo’s products out from under the sink. “Sit, soleil, on the toilet. We’ll do your hair.”

Leo dutifully let Finn settle him down on the toilet seat, a furrow between his brows. Finn reached out to smooth it with his thumb. “Relax, Le, baby. We got you.”

Together, Finn and Logan started the routine they’d observed hundreds of times. Finn lifted Leo’s curls into sections as Logan wet them with a spray bottle. The thick strands became slippery when they added leave-in conditioner and curl cream, running through Finn’s fingers like gold silk.

“Ça va, soleil?” Logan asked, reaching for Leo’s styling brush.

“Ouais,” Leo replied softly. “Feels good.”

Finn smiled at Logan over Leo’s head. “Good.”

Finn helped to hold Leo’s hair in sections as Logan ran the brush gently through, curling it like Leo had taught him. Then, they began winding each individual curl around their fingers in little spirals. They talked with each other as they worked, and Leo, at first silent and tense, began to relax his shoulders and smile. The first laugh that broke through made Finn warm. By Logan’s soft look at Leo’s face, he felt the same way.

When they were finished, Logan stood in front of Leo with two containers and a questioning, but fond, look. “Mousse, gel, or both soleil?”

Leo tilted his head back and forth. “Both, please, to hold up against the rain. But light on the gel, please, or else it’ll be really weighed down.”

“D’accord.” Logan kissed his forehead and moved behind his body again. He scooped some gel into his hands then held them out to Finn. “Some water, please, rouge?”

“You got it.” Finn sprayed Logan’s hands, then watched as he rubbed them together and gently scrunched the gel into Leo’s locks. After a minute, Finn picked up the other bottle. “Mousse now?”

“Ouais, then we’ll scrunch it a bit.”

Leo let out a happy sound as Finn’s hands worked through his hair. “You’re both so cute for knowing my hair routine.”

“Of course we do, sunshine,” Finn said, tongue stuck through his teeth as he focused. Logan’s hands joined him in gently scrunching. “Gotta make sure our prince is perfect looking at all times.” They finished, and he leaned around to press wet kisses on Leo’s cheek. “Right?”

He could feel Leo smiling under his lips. “If you say so.”

“I do say so.” He kissed Leo’s jaw once more before straightening. “Now, what do we have to do to help get you ready?”

“Gotta pack the cooler. And diffuse my hair, because I don’t wanna go out with it wet.”

“I’ll go pack the cooler,” Logan said. He kissed Finn’s cheek, then Leo’s mouth while wiping his hands on a towel. “You’ll diffuse, rouge?”

“On it, babe.” Finn knelt to open the cabinet below the sink and pulled out Leo’s hair dryer and diffuser attachment, as well as his hair oil. He took the microfiber towel Logan had placed on the top of the toilet in his hand and straightened. “Ready, baby?”

“Uh-huh. You remember how to do it? Hover, then-”

“Then gently cup and dry it in sections, a little closer to the scalp. Don’t worry, babe, I got you. You just sit and look pretty, you’re very good at that.”

Leo shook his head fondly, and Finn smiled as he turned on the hair dryer. He squeezed out the initial wetness gently with the towel, then began to hover on medium heat, just like Leo had taught him. Leo was humming quietly to himself like he sometimes did when he was distracted. Finn didn’t think he realized he was doing it; it only happened when Leo was especially happy, so Finn just bit his lip to keep from laughing and making Leo sheepish. It had been a few minutes, so he switched the dryer to a high speed and brought it closer to Leo’s scalp.

“Let me know if I burn you, sunshine, okay?”

“Okay,” Leo said happily, then went back to humming. Finn shook his head fondly and cupped a curl cluster in his hands.

He loved this part. It was almost magical, watching as Leo’s curls turned from soaking wet and heavy to soft and fluffy, the blonde even brighter now after having spent so much time in the sun over the summer. The crunchiness of the mousse faded slightly as the hair dried, leaving behind smooth, defined ringlets. Finn wasn’t kidding when he said Leo was a prince.

After a few minutes of comfortable silence, apart from Leo’s soft humming, Logan appeared in the doorway in khakis and a button-down T-shirt. His quad muscles were visible through the fabric, and Finn almost laughed at how abruptly Leo’s humming stopped when he caught sight of them. Logan noticed, too, and smiled delightedly as he came to stand between Leo’s legs and cup his jaw. “Almost done?”

“Yup,” Finn said. “Just finishing the last section. Grab the oil for me, Lo, baby? We can scrunch out the crunch.”

Leo snorted. “I can’t believe you.”

“I like the saying! It’s fun.” He shut off the hair dryer with a satisfied nod. “Alrighty, butter, just another minute.”

He and Logan squeeze some oil on their hands and set about scrunching out Leo’s curls. Finn could feel the crust from the gel and mousse fade away under his fingers, replaced by the soft curls he loved to caress, to lean his cheek on, to tug playfully. He did just that, gripping one ringlet between his pointer finger and thumb and pulling it gently, making Leo laugh.

“Okay,” Leo said, standing up and turning to face them. He bent down to give them each a kiss. “Thank you. I was really stressed.”

Finn snorted. “Yeah, you were, baby. Feel better?”

Leo nodded, running a hand through Finn’s hair. “Loads, thank you, sweetheart.” He caught a glimpse of himself in the bathroom mirror and a huge smile broke over his face. “Oh. Would you look at that.”

Even though they were both looking directly at him, Logan and Finn turned to face the mirror, too. Leo was smiling at himself in the reflection, reaching a hand up to touch the curls that were towards the front of his head. Finn liked the way he was looking at himself, like he finally saw how good he looked. Logan and Finn had seen him deflated as he critically examined himself before- the acne on his chin and jaw, the fat he gained when he bulked the last summer, the way his brow furrowed after said bulk when he didn’t fit into his game-day suit anymore. Finn felt the sudden urge to make Leo feel how truly beautiful he was, how much they both absolutely adored every part of him.

“Gorgeous,” Finn whispered, wrapping his arms around Leo’s waist and resting his chin on his shoulder. The three of them in the mirror, standing close together, made his heart stutter. He caught Leo’s eye. “Absolutely gorgeous.”

Leo’s smile turned sheepish. “Who?”

“Both of you.” He leaned across Leo’s body to smack at Logan’s thighs gently. “Seriosuly, who gave quads a right to look this good?”

Leo and Logan burst out laughing, Logan kissing the top of his head before pulling away to look up at Leo. “He’s right. You’re out of a fairytale.”

Leo grinned down at him. “Thanks, honey.” He kissed Logan briefly, then looked at himself in the mirror once more. “Okay. Wow, my hair looks really good, thank you.” He patted each of their hips before walking away. “Time to get dressed. Gotta get the car loaded.”

“Hey, wait,” Finn said, grabbing Leo’s hand and pulling him back to their bodies in one quick movement. Leo stumbled, but his smile was pleased. Finn placed firm kiss on his mouth. “We love you. We love you and your crazy, beautiful curls, okay? Even when they’re messy.”

“I know.” Leo’s eyes were twinkly and bright. “I love you, too.” He pressed his lips to Finn’s, then to Logan’s, hard and happy. The soft moment settled over them before Leo clapped his hands. “Okay. Okay, you both look stunning, my curls are fantastic, and I’ve got a dinner to cook. Let’s go.”

Logan and Finn hung back for a moment. Finn felt Logan come up behind him and place his hands on his waist. “We did good, rouge.”

“So good.” He leaned back to kissed Logan’s cheek. “C’mon. We got a Disney prince waiting for us.” He licked his lips. “How mad do you think he’ll be if I mess those lovely curls of his up later?”

Logan laughed. “I don’t think he’ll be too mad.” He tapped Finn’s hip. “Allez, let’s go. Soleil’s waiting.”

Finn just smiled, smitten, and tugged Logan out of the bathroom.

I had this idea for headcanons about the Cubs as drivers/passenger princess combos and JUST LISTEN, LISTEN-

Finn driving, Logan as Passenger Princess: This combination doesn't happen often, because Leo's legs are SO LONG that he usually needs to either drive or sit in the front seat, but WHEN IT DOES (usually when Leo is tired and lies down in the back to nap), HOLY MOLY. Finn is a chatterbox all the time, and Logan FEEDS off of his energy. They're debating sports and plays and stuff. Finn talks with his hands and so he's constantly tapping on Logan's thigh to emphasize his point. He also does NOT LIKE the music Logan plays (I feel like this is one thing they have VERY different tastes for that kinda clash), so he's always chirping Logan about that. Logan gets kind of protective over his snacks, but shares with Finn anyway (cue: AGGRESSIVE SIDE EYE). Finn always thanks him with a smile and at every red light he leans over and kisses Logan's cheek to remind him that, though they may be debating and discussing stuff in the car, it really isn't that serious and he just loves Logan so so so much. He feels so lucky that, after everything, he gets to share these domestic moments with him.

Logan driving, Finn as Passenger Princess: Pretty much the same: debating, discussing, but this time Logan is demanding snacks. He's a BIG skin-to-skin guy, so he loves when he drives in the summer and his boys are in SHORTS and he can place his hand on Finn's (or Leo's) bare thigh. Finn still talks with his hands, but this time he's playing with Logan's fingers. Logan doesn't hate Finn's music as much as Finn hates Logan's, so it's a bit calmer on that front. In this situation and the one above, directions are CHAOTIC. Both of them are kinda bad at it.

Leo driving, Finn as Passenger Princess: Finn is HORRIBLE at giving directions and focusing, and Leo NEEDS to know the next step he needs to take on the route when he completes the previous, and needs ample notification time before the upcoming step. Finn gets SO distracted and could be looking at the directions and be like: "Uh, okay, so it says here- oh! You got a text from Reg, it says-" "Sweetheart, directions." "Right, right, sorry, sunshine." *To apologize, Finn begins pressing kisses to the back of Leo's hand and gets distracted again.* "Finn." "Right! Sorry." Leo is also a big palm-on-thigh guy, and lets Finn just fiddle with his fingers the whole time. He's Finn's very own fidget toy. When Leo has to back up, he rests his hand on Finn's headrest to look behind him and Finn SWOONS. His sunshine has nice biceps. Finn is weirdly obsessed with the Les Mis soundtrack and absolutely BELTS it out. Logan groans but finds it so endearing, and Leo sings along happily under his breath.

Leo driving, Logan as Passenger Princess: This combination mostly happens at night, because Finn CANNOT stay awake at the wheel, and Logan is half sleepy, but insomniac sunshine can drive just fine. Logan always chooses one of Leo's soft, acoustic playlists to listen to because they relax him. It's quiet, with Finn conked out in the back seat, and LeLo just sit in each other's silence mostly, or quietly murmur to one another. Leo has to prompt Logan for directions every now and then, but that's mostly because Logan is too busy watching how the streetlights reflect off of his skin and listening to his soft voice sing along to the music. Leo's hand is on Logan's thigh the whole time, and sometimes up scratching at his hair. Logan takes it and kisses it or even leans across the console to kiss his cheek. He ALSO SWOONS when Leo backs the car up and is known for taking a nice bite of Leo's bicep every now and then.

FinnorLogan driving and Leo as a Passenger Princess: Leo Knut is the PERFECT Passenger Princess. Directions? Three steps ahead with exact mileage and periodic check-ins with ample notification time. Snacks? Has the exact ones that FinnLo like and his own, which he brings slightly extra of because his boyfriends ALWAYS ask for some because what's his is theirs. Definitely brings an extra designated 'Driver Water Bottle' with a small nozzle so Finn/Logan can drink without spilling on themselves, and then ANOTHER extra water bottle because whoever isn't driving DEFINITELY forgot theirs (he then has his own small-nozzled Nalgene with a straw inside and a Lions Pride sticker on the outside, and it is HIS). Music? Has a nice rotation of songs that each of them likes. He plays a Finn-song, a Lo-song, and a Le-song, then starts the process over again so everyone stays relatively happy. Conversation? He is whatever they need him to be. He's avidly engaged with Finn and lets him tap on his thigh all he needs, and then he's quietly chatting with Logan, covering the Logan's hand on his thigh with his own because Logan loves the feeling of warm skin against his. AC? This man has it DOWN. Always has his own seat-heater on and his personal AC set to approximately 72 degrees; Finn's is set to approximately 68, with the seat heater on low in the winter; and Logan's is a FREEZING 62, even in the winter, and he NEVER has a seat heater on. Leo knows his Weighted Blanket Boy is HOTHOTHOT (in many ways). Overall, 100000000000/10 Passenger Princess, the best in the biz. FinnLo love him so much. <3

Hi! I just lost my 13yo dog and been so down, but trying to think about all the amazing times we went through. Made me wonder about the cubs adopting a rescue dog, or even better, Logan maybe gifting Leo said dog, or something like it, dont know, just wanted something very lovely and cute. Thanks

Hi friend,

I am so so so sorry for your loss. Dogs love unconditionally like nobody else can, and I imagine it must be so hard right now. However, they are some of the greatest gifts life has to offer, even if their time on Earth is much more limited than ours. They bring so much joy and happiness, and I hope you can find that in the memories you carry of your sweet baby. <3

Have some sunshine being a sweet dog-whisperer and Logan and Finn wanting to surprise the very best husband they could ever ask for.

Sending lots of love your way!!

Logan laced his fingers through Leo’s as they walked along the path through the park, stepping aside every now and then to let bikers and runners pass by. Leo’s skin was tan from the summer sun and matched beautifully with the gold rings on his fingers. Logan brought his hand to his mouth and kissed it, then turned to look up at him. They were discussing where they wanted to go for dinner. “What do you want to do tonight, soleil?”

Leo shrugged. “Don’t know. Could ask Finn, he was talking about this new place that opened up in the center of the city. Or we could go to that café we like for an early dinner, then go for a walk by the water. It’s a nice day.”

“Mm,” Logan hummed distractedly. He stopped abruptly and bent down. When he stood to give Leo the flower he picked, small and yellow, he smiled. “Allez. For you.”

Leo smiled back. “Thanks, honey.” He kissed Logan’s forehead. “I love it.”

Logan was leaning up for another kiss when he felt something cold sniff his ankle. He pulled away and looked down. “Quoi?”

The dog had moved on to Leo now. It was medium sized, with long, triangle ears and a boxy face. It’s entire body wiggled as it looked up at Leo and stuck its tongue out in a smile.

“Sassy!” a woman said. She gave the dog a tug by its leash and smiled sheepishly. “Sorry, sorry, she’s not leash trained quite yet.”

“That’s alright,” Leo said. He looked up at her. “Can I pet her?”

“Yeah, yeah, of course.”

Leo grinned and bent a bit to let Sassy sniff his hand, and when she licked it, he crouched fully to scratch behind her ears. He laughed when she made a content little grunting sound. “You’re so pretty! Look at you, baby.”

Logan smiled fondly then looked up at the woman. “What breed is she?”

She shrugged. “We’re not entirely sure. We think a pitbull-coonhound mix. I’m not her owner, I’m just taking her for a walk. I volunteer at Gryffindor Shelter on Lavelle Street.”

Logan tilted his head. “So she’s not adopted?”

“No. A group of us take the dogs for walks every week so they get used to it. Helps to socialize them a bit.”

“That’s awesome,” Leo chided in. Sassy now had her paws on his bent knees and was wiggling happily as he continued to scratch her ears. “You’re a very sweet girl.”

Logan took in Leo’s smile and bright blue eyes. They had talked about getting a dog before, in theory. Leo always joked that Finn basically was their dog and that they needed to run him, but Logan knew he wanted the real thing. He loved whenever the Lions did charity work or photoshoots with rescue dogs. Finn and Logan had shared knowing glances many times over the years as they watched every single dog, old and young, big and small, fall in love with Leo the second they met him.

Suddenly, there was a warm body behind him and a wet, slightly sweaty, kiss was pressed to his cheek. “‘Sup, hubs.”

Logan turned and caught Finn’s eye. “Salut. Good run?”

Finn nodded eagerly, bouncing on his toes. “Oo-ways. Two more miles left.” He noticed Leo on the ground and the women holding the leash and smiled. “Hi! Who’s this?”

The woman smiled. “This is Sassy. She’s at Gryffindor Shelter, I’m breaking her out of jail for the day.”

Finn crouched down and held out his hand. “Aren’t you a sweet little girl!” He laughed when she came to lick his wrist, then Logan’s ankle, before going straight back to seek attention from Leo. “Damn, okay, I see how it is.”

The lady winked at him. “Seems she found a friend.”

“Looks like. She’s very pretty.”

The woman nodded. “She is.” She checked her watch briefly, then tugged on the leash. “Let’s go, Sassy girl, gotta get you back.” She looked up at the three of them. “Nice to meet you…?”

“I’m Finn,” Finn said. “And this is Logan and Leo.” He gestured accordingly with a tilt of his head. “And you?”

“Melanie.”

Finn turned on one of his signature grins. “Well, Melanie, thanks for sharing Sassy with us. And taking her for walkies, I’m sure the shelter must be boring for her.”

Melanie smiled. “My pleasure.” She gave the leash another tug. “Let’s go, Sass!”

Sassy let out a whining sound before resisting just enough to give Leo’s forearm another lick and receive one last scratch before she was being led away down the path. Leo watched her go with a small smile on his face for a moment. Just enough time, really, for Finn and Logan to share a meaningful look. Logan grinned and turned to Leo, holding out his hand. “Ici, soleil, let’s finish our walk.”

Leo let out a sigh. “Okay.” He took Logan’s hand and stood. “She was really cute.”

“She was, baby,” Finn agreed, kissing his cheek. “I’ll meet you at the fountain in a few, okay? Love you.”

Leo nodded. “Love you.”

Finn jogged backwards for a moment, making a heart with his hands, before winking and turning to run ahead. Logan stood on his toes and kissed Leo on the cheek. “You look very pretty in the sun.”

Leo rolled his eyes good naturedly, but he turned his face to brush their noses together. He still had the yellow flower between his fingers. “I love you.”

“Je t’aime.” Logan kissed him on the mouth, then squeezed his hand. “Allez, or our oversized puppy will get impatient waiting for us at the fountain.”

Leo laughed and let Logan pull him along the path.

Two weeks later

It took a lot of planning, and insisting Leo go out with Regulus one day while they had a secret house inspection, but Logan had done it. Well, really, he and Finn had done it, but he liked to credit himself for the idea, at least. They had told Leo they were going out to get fertilizer for his herb garden, which they did actually do- the store just so happened to have all necessary dog accessories, and was a three minute drive from Gryffindor Shelter on Lavelle Street.

“Are you excited, Sassy girl?” Finn cooed from the front seat as he parked. He turned to scratch her behind the ears, and patted Logan, who was sitting in the back with her, on the head. “Your daddy’s gonna be so happy!”

She let out a whine and a short bark, her entire body vibrating with energy. Logan clipped the leash they had got her around her collar and gingerly opened the door. “Allez, ma petite, careful.”

Sassy paid him no mind and leapt out of the car after him, nose in the air and twitching like a bunny’s with soft huffs. Finn chirped the car and went to open the door leading from the garage to the lower lobby and the elevator.

“Wanna bring the other stuff up later?”

“Ouais,” Logan said, gripping tightly to the leash as Sassy pulled in her excitement. “I want Le to see her first.”

Finn made a happy sound in the back of his throat. “I can’t wait, he’s gonna be so excited.” He turned to look at Logan as they stepped through the elevator door and kissed him. “You’re a good husband.”

Logan smiled against his mouth. “Toi aussi, mon rouge.” He bent to rub Sassy’s side. “She’s very happy.”

“Wiggly little thing, huh?” Finn crouched to give her a kiss on the forehead, which just made her wag her tail even harder. “Gonna have to take you on runs to get your energy out. Yes I am!”

Logan ran a hand fondly through Finn’s hair just as the elevator door opened. Sassy immediately dragged Logan out, nose to the ground as she scurried her way down the hallway. Finn laughed and went to unlock the door. “Hold her here for a second, ‘kay?”

“D’accord,” Logan replied, crouching to hold Sassy around her chest.

Finn touched Logan’s cheek, winked, then pushed the door open. “Sunshine! We’re home.”

“Hi, honey,” Logan heard Leo say. There was the sound of a brief kiss. “Where’s Lo?”

Logan could imagine Finn’s mischievous smile. “We’ve got a surprise for you.”

“What?”

“Lo, let her in!”

Logan stood and held onto Sassy’s leash and guided her into the apartment. Leo looked briefly confused, but his entire face changed when he saw her, breaking into a wide smile. Those bright eyes flashed to Logan’s face. “No.”

Logan nodded, a warm feeling working its way up his chest. “Ouais.”

Sassy whined, entire body vibrating, before Logan let her go. Leo crouched and she launched herself right into his lap, happy, high-pitched noises escaping her. Her paws were dancing on Leo’s legs as he cupped her face and scratched her ears. He was laughing and cooing at her. Logan and Finn and Logan shared a fond look.

“Hi, baby, hi!” Leo was saying. “Oh, you’re so beautiful.” He looked up at Finn and Logan, both dimples on full display. “She’s ours?”

The look Finn gave him was so in love Logan felt his heart speed up. “Yeah, sunshine. She’s ours.”

Leo laughed again and buried his face in Sassy’s neck. She had both of her paws on his shoulders and was sniffing by his ear. She had calmed down a bit, comforted by the warmth of Leo’s body. Logan could relate.

“Thank you,” Leo said softly. He tilted his chin up. “C’mere.”

Finn sat by his side and Logan kneeled in front of him. Leo leaned in to kiss them both softly, a hand supporting Sassy on her back. Finn wrapped one arm around Leo’s waist and Logan scratched Sassy’s side just beside Leo’s hand.

“She will need some training,” Logan said. He moved his hand up and flitted his fingers over Leo’s curls. He leaned into the touch. “But she needed a home, and she loves you, Le.”

“She’s perfect,” Finn said wistfully, head now on Leo’s shoulder. He reached out to rub Sassy’s ear between his thumb and forefinger. “Her ears are so soft.”

“Mm, like- how do you say it, soleil? Le velours?”

Leo smiled and peeked out at him. “Velvet. Yeah, they are.”

Sassy was wiggling again, excited and eager with all the hands petting her, and let out a happy little growling sound. Logan barked out a laugh. “Rouge, she sounds like you.”

Finn mimicked her happy growling sound and reached out with both hands to scratch behind her ears. She opened her mouth in a smile and talked back to him again. “Just like your dad, baby, did you hear that?”

Leo kissed her on the side of her head. “Okay, c’mon, baby girl, let’s show you the house.” He coaxed her off his lap and took her leash, leading her through the kitchen. “This is where all the yummy snacks are made. I’ll have to find some dog friendly recipes for you, sweetheart.” They continued on. “And this is the couch, it’s great for naps. I’ll make sure to get you a blanket.”

Leo continued chattering to her as he showed her the bedrooms and the hallway. Her nose was moving rapidly, the sounds of her sniffing making Logan let out an amused breath. He settled back on his heels as Finn came to sit beside him. He wrapped his arms around his shoulders and kissed his red waves. “Good surprise.”

“Good surprise,” Finn agreed. “He’s so happy. They both are.”

Logan hummed into Finn’s hair and breathed out a laugh as Leo’s voice continued to carry through their apartment, followed by a bark from Sassy. “I think we married a Disney character.”

“Oh, we definitely did. We could put him in the forest and he’d be friends with all the animals in an hour, probably.”

Logan smiled into Finn’s hair. “You’re so weird. I love you.”

Finn tilted his head and kissed him. “I love you, too.”

They turned to look as Leo walked back into the entryway with Sassy, who was now free from her leash. She saw them and trotted her way over, entire body wiggling, and nudged their hands. They both smiled and complied, scratching her side and ears. Leo stood over them, leash in one hand, his smile bright. Logan couldn’t tear his eyes away.

“Is her stuff in the car?” Leo asked. At the sound of his voice, Sassy turned around and went over to him again. He squatted to pet her.

“Yeah, but we’ll get it, baby,” Finn said. He stood, then held out a hand for Logan. “You relax.”

“You sure? I can help-”

“Non.” Logan bent and cupped his face to kiss him quickly. “Stay here, mon coeur. We’ll be back.”

Later that evening, after the three of them had taken Sassy for a long walk around her new neighborhood, Finn and Logan arrived from picking up their Thai take out for dinner to find Leo fast asleep on his back on the couch. Sassy was a heavy weight on his chest, limbs splayed out as she softly snored. One of her ears was flipped inside-out. Leo’s arms were wrapped gently around her to keep her from falling.

Finn sneakily took a photo. “New lockscreen.”

Logan rested his chin on his shoulder. “Send it to me, please?”

“Already done, baby.” He kissed the side of Logan’s head. “They’re so cute.”

Logan bent to kneel beside the couch and kissed Leo’s forehead, brushing his hair back. “Mon amour. Mon mari. Dinner.”

Leo took a deep breath in and blinked slowly. He smiled sleepily. “Hi.” His arms tightened around Sassy. She let out a content sound and opened her eyes, too. “Sorry, we were just taking a nap.”

Logan shook his head. “Non, don’t be sorry.” He nudged their noses together. “You were very cute.” He felt a paw pat his forearm and he turned to Sassy. “You, too, ma petite.” He kissed her between her eyes and she let out a satisfied sigh.

Leo scratched her back. “Up, sweetheart, it’s supper time.” He laughed as Sassy let out a groan and stretched her back legs and yawned. “Oh, big stretch and big yawn, wow.”

Sassy hopped off the couch and shook, her lips and ears making a flapping sound. She trotted over to greet Finn and sniffed eagerly at the bags he was still holding. “Ah-ah, none for you. Yet. Maybe some chicken.”

Leo tisked. “Spices aren’t good for dogs, they upset their tummies.” He walked over and rested a hand on Finn’s lower back and leaned in for a kiss. “Hi. Thanks for getting dinner.”

“You’re welcome, sunshine.” Finn opened the takeout bags on their counter and began to unload them. Sassy sat obediently and looked up at him, ears perked up. Finn looked at her, then at Leo with his very own pleading puppy dog eyes. “Are you sure she can’t-”

“No. But we can cut her up some cucumbers and you can give them to her, how’s that?”

Finn smiled and nodded. “That sounds good.” He bent to touch his and Sassy’s foreheads together and kissed her nose. “You’re just so cute!”

She barked and wagged her tail happily. Leo looked down at her proudly, then caught Logan looking at him. “You okay, sweetheart?”

Logan nodded. “Ouais,” he said, going up to wrap his arms around Leo’s ribs. “Just love you.”

Leo kissed the top of his head. “I love you, too.” He bent to wrap his hands under Logan’s thighs and pick him up. His dimples were there again. “You got me a dog.”

Logan scratched a hand through his hair and tightened his legs around his waist. “I did.”

“We.”

“It was my idea!”

Leo rolled his eyes fondly and kissed Logan on the mouth. “Well, thank you both. She’s perfect.”

Logan kissed him again. “You’re perfect.”

Leo just grinned and set him down again. “C’mon, let’s get the plates. Then I gotta give Sassy her dinner.” Logan scratched Sassy, who was still watching Finn open the take out containers with rapt attention, on the head, letting the warm feeling of family fill him up as he went to get the silverware.

Concussion Finn makes me 😭 would love to read some Harvard era concussion angst if you feel so inclined, love your writing!

As someone who has had multiple concussions, I really do feel for Finn. Poor baby Bambi!

I don't think I have it in me to write pure angst. HOWEVER, I made a compromise. Have some Harvard-era concussion angst with a healthy helping of LeLo softness and Finn being a silly, sleep-talking concussed goose.

All credits to @lumosinlove

“Ayo, Tremz! Why don’t you bring some of this up to Bambi? He’s probably hungry, and he hasn’t been downstairs all day.”

Logan looked up from his own taco to see Percy holding up a plate with three of them on it, laden with pico and guacamole and cheese, just the way Finn liked it. He was holding it out expectantly, and Logan furrowed his eyebrows. “Quoi? Why me?”

Percy rolled his eyes. “Because you’re the only one who actually gets any information out of him or anything. He’s been faking it or something for the rest of us, I don’t know.” His eyes glanced to Will, who was hovering nearby with a plate of his own. “Would you- would you mind just checking on him?”

Logan nodded and finished off his last taco with a large bite. “Ouais,” he said. He took the plate from Percy. “Merci, Perce.”

Percy nodded. Will’s eyes looked between them in that gentle, careful way that they did. He and Percy shared a look before Will took a deep breath and turned to Logan. “Tell him we said hi, okay? We’re a little worried.”

Logan sighed. “Ouais, me too.” He turned towards the stairs. “I’ll be right back.”

He tried to control his breathing as he ascended, the plate shaking slightly in his hands. It wasn’t good, he thought, that every time he entered their room it felt like he would crawl out of his skin. It hurt looking across at Finn’s back in the dim light, all hunched in on himself. In the months he’d known him, Finn was never quiet. He was loud and bubbly, friendly to a fault, and now… now he looked defeated, Logan thought. And even worse, in the midst of the overwhelming emotions surfacing, Logan hadn’t been able to resist him. He’d spent too much time in Finn’s bed, holding him, reassuring him- too much time, even for best friends. And Finn was his best friend, but he was also- everything. Finn was everything, and Logan didn’t know what to do about that.

He knocked quietly on their bedroom door on the second landing, and upon not hearing an answer, gently opened it. The blackout curtains were drawn, and Finn was in his bed, eyes closed, and earplugs in his ears. Logan had seen teammates with concussions, had been there when his older sister, Sydney, had gotten one when she was in high school, but this- this was bad. It had only been a few days since their game against Yale, but it was really, really bad. Finn slept most of the time and any little light or noise drained him. Logan could see that, even in the peacefulness of their bedroom, the tendons in his neck were straining. There was still a rumbling sound of the music coming from their team dinner downstairs, and Logan hoped that Finn couldn’t hear it.

Logan took a deep breath, and crossed the room. He set the plate down on the table beside Finn’s bed and placed a hand gently on his back. “Harzy,” he whispered. “Harzy, wake up. Percy made you food.” Finn shifted, but he didn’t wake up. Logan tried again. “Harz. Fish, Finn.” His voice was a little bit firmer, a little bit more desperate. “I’ve brought you dinner.”

Finn rolled slightly and his eyes, warm brown and tired, opened slowly. “Lo.”

Logan smiled. “How are you? I have tacos.” Finn just made a grunting noise and closed his eyes once again. Logan knelt down and pushed his hair back from his forehead. He was warm. “Shit, Fish. What’s wrong?”

“Lo,” Finn whispered. It was high pitched and sad, and he looked like he was going to cry. “Lo, it hurts.”

“What hurts?” Logan asked hurriedly. “Finn, what hurts?”

“My head,” Finn replied. He was breathing a little sharply and in tearful huffs. “Logan, the bass, it really hurts, and I miss everyone, and-”

“Sh, sh, it’s okay,” Logan hushed. He stood up. “I’ll go tell them to turn it down, it’s okay-”

“No,” Finn protested. He reached out his hand to grab at Logan’s wrist. “No, stay.”

“Finn, you’re hurting, it’s gonna-”

“Please.” Finn’s voice was going to break Logan, and he couldn’t look away. “Stay, please you-” His eyelids fluttered and he squeezed Logan’s wrist. “You make it better.”

Logan felt all his resolve fade out. “Okay. Okay, but you have to put on my noise cancelling headphones over your earplugs, oui?”

Finn nodded. “Okay.”

Logan reached for them where they were lying on his bed and helped adjust the pillows so Finn could sit up. He bent down to put them on Finn’s head, and let himself run a hand down the back of Finn’s hair as he pulled away. “C’est bien?” he asked, looking at Finn’s face so he could read his lips.

Finn nodded. “Yeah. Yeah, stay.”

“Finn, I really don’t-”

But Finn didn’t hear, or wasn’t listening, or both. He moved over in his bed and patted beside him. Logan sighed and climbed in, pulling the covers over both of their bodies. He adjusted himself so Finn could lean back against his chest. Finn settled against him and Logan ducked to press his nose gently into his hair. He wondered if Finn could feel how hard his heart was beating in his chest. Logan could only hope that none of the boys would knock on the door- he hardly knew what to do with himself, let alone what to tell them.

Logan lifted one of the headphones off and away from Finn’s ear. “Fish?”

“Mm.”

“Ten minutes, then you need to eat, d’accord? And I’ll ask them to turn off the music.”

“Twenty.”

“Non, Harz, you’ll feel even-”

“Fifteen.” Finn let out a deep breath. “Just- just stay, for fifteen minutes. Please?”

Logan sighed. He leaned his head back against the wall in defeat. “Ouais,” he whispered. “Ouais.”

Fifteen minutes later, as Logan scooted out from behind Finn and handed him his plate of tacos, he didn’t have the heart to look back and see Finn’s eyes watching him. He opened the door once again, and went down to ask Percy to turn down the music

***

Logan woke up in the early morning light with a view of Finn’s face across from his. He was sleeping peacefully, turned into Leo’s right side, with his sling holding his arm protectively. Above him, Leo was slightly propped up against the pillows, his perfect cupid’s bow lips parted slightly with his breathing. He had one arm gently around Finn’s waist and the other around Logan’s shoulders, pulling them close to him. Logan was surprised that none of them had moved during sleep.

It was strange, not waking up in the middle. Normally, Logan preferred to wake up surrounded: Leo all along his back with his arms tightly around his waist, Finn tucking him under his chin. But he also really did like to wake up and look at both of his boys at the same time, all peaceful and soft, unsuspecting of his loving gaze. He glanced up at Leo; their talk the night before had resolved their issues and eased Logan’s anxiety, but he still couldn’t help but feel a little guilty. His and Finn’s conversation from the previous afternoon ran through his mind.

I maybe got a little protective… that first night.

From Leo?

Logan took a shaky breath and turned his nose into Leo’s chest. As if sensing he was awake, Leo stirred slightly. His eyes, when they opened, were a gorgeous, bright blue. They’d always been striking to Logan, from the day they’d met all those months ago. Even now they still managed to take Logan’s breath away in a second, and he’d do anything to keep Leo looking at him in that gentle, careful way he did. They saw right through him, every thought on his face on intimate display. He almost couldn’t bear it, and propped himself up on an elbow to lean over and kiss Leo carefully. When they pulled away, Logan touched their heads together softly. “Je t’aime. Je t’aime, I love you more than anything.”

Leo smiled against his mouth. “I love you. Hi.”

“Salut,” Logan whispered, then kissed him again. He settled his face into Leo’s neck. “Missed you.”

“I miss you always, sweetheart,” Leo replied. The words made Logan’s heart tug gently. Leo pressed a kiss to his hair and rested his head on top of Logan’s. “How’s our boy?”

Logan turned his head to lay against Leo’s shoulder so he could look down at Finn, who was still sleeping against Leo’s chest. “C’est bien. I think. Didn’t hear him talking any more.”

That made Leo laugh softly. “No, neither did I. That was really funny, though.”

Leo sounded so happy and content and looked so beautiful that Logan had to turn and kiss him some more. They stayed like that for a while, Leo holding him tightly around his shoulders, their mouths pressing together softly, until a small gasp made Logan look down.

“Whoa,” Finn said. His voice was groggy with sleep, but his eyes were bright as he watched them. He smiled. “Nice.”

Leo’s nose scrunched around his grin. “How are the boats, honey? Did you make it before they left the harbor?”

Logan laughed at Finn’s confused look. “Huh?”

“Ouais,” Logan said. He scooted down to lay his head beside Finn’s and kiss his cheek. “Did they take your money?”

“Uh,” Finn started. “I- I don’t know? What are you talking about?”

Leo ran a palm up and down Logan’s side. “You don’t even stop talking when your sleepy and concussed. That has to be a super power.”

Finn blinked hard. “Did I talk in my sleep?”

“Uh huh,” Leo answered. “Something about boats and money.”

“I- I don’t even know what to say about that,” Finn said. He shifted closer to Logan. “I’m just happy both of my boys are back with me.”

Logan reached over to brush his hair off of his forehead. “Ouais. Ouais, me, too.”

Finn looked at him carefully with his tired eyes. “Did you talk?”

Logan nodded. He pushed his face further into Leo’s chest and felt Leo drop a kiss onto his forehead. “Ouais. We did.” He pressed his mouth against Leo’s ribs through his shirt. “C’est bien.”

“Good,” Finn whispered. “That’s good.” His eyes were droopy, and he yawned. “Stay. Stay for fifteen minutes.”

“Twenty.”

Logan and Finn both turned their heads to look up at the sound of Leo’s voice. Logan felt his mouth part into a smile, and saw Finn’s do the same. He remembered, then.

Leo for his part, looked confused. “What?”

“Nothing,” Logan said. He tilted his head up for a kiss and snuggled back down next to Finn, their heads sharing Leo's chest as a pillow. He tangled his legs with Leo’s and let out a long sigh. “Twenty minutes sounds perfect."

Vancouver, Canada

“Harz!”

Finn spotted Remus up the ice, miles ahead of the defenseman chasing after him. He was approaching the blue line. If Finn timed it right, the puck would sail across before Remus, and they could avoid the offside call, leaving just Remus, Sirius, who was coming up the other wing, and the Canucks goalie. Finn raised his stick a little and saucered the puck over, Remus letting it feed through and onto his stick.

Finn had barely brought his own stick down before a body slammed into him. A sharp pain bloomed from his mid to lower back, and he fell with a cry.

He heard the goal horn, and the Canucks player beside him muttering an apology. Finn groaned and winced. Thomas came into his line of vision. “Trainer over here!” He looked down at Finn. “Shit, you alright, Freckle?”

Finn tried for a smile, but he knew it was strained. Leo skated up beside Thomas, blue eyes concerned behind his mask. “What happened, sweetheart?”

“My back,” Finn said. “Fuck, that stings.”

“Coming through, Knut, Walker,” came Lars’ voice. He knelt beside Finn. “Talk to me, seventeen.”

“Thirty-four got me good in the back.”

“Can you sit up?”

Finn tried, but the sharp pain stung him again. “Fuck.”

“Okay,” Lars said. He looked behind him. “Layla, on his other side. We can stabilize him enough to get him to the PT room.”

Together, they helped Finn stand, trying to limit his spine movement as much as possible. He sent Leo a small smile before disappearing down the tunnel.

***

They won, 4-2. Finn watched from the PT room, sucking on a raspberry ice pop Layla had given him to keep him occupied. Just a back strain, nothing major, but he'd be out for a week or two just to be sure. Now, he was impatiently waiting for his sunshine, who was no doubt pulling off his goalie pads. When he heard footsteps, his ears perked up. Leo's voice rang through, like he was talking on the phone. Finn smiled- he knew exactly who that was.

“He's fine, Lo,” Leo said as he opened the door. “Lars just came and told us, it's just a strain.” Logan said something back in French, and Leo shook his head fondly. He said something back before turning to look at Finn. “Hi, sweetheart.”

Finn smiled back. “Is there steam coming out of his ears?”

“Only a little.” Leo came and stood beside him, holding out the phone so Finn could get a full view of Logan’s furrowed brows and intense eyes. “Say hello.”

“Hi, grumpy,” Finn said. “How's it hanging?”

Logan just huffed. “What happened?”

“Just got a little banged up along the board. It's a minor back strain- I'll miss a week, two weeks tops.”

“Promise?”

Finn kissed his fingers and touched the screen. “Promise.” He leaned into the kiss Leo pressed to his forehead. “Good practice?”

“Ouais, until I learned you got injured and I'm not there to see it.”

Leo snorted. “What would you have done, beat the guy up?”

“Ouais.”

“Feisty little attack dog,” Finn teased, just to see the way Logan narrowed his eyes at him. “I love you, baby. We'll call you from the hotel.”

“Ouais, I love you, too.” He looked to Leo. “Good game, soleil. Nice save in the second.”

Leo tilted his head and took Logan in. “Thanks, sweetheart. We've gotta go. I love you, we'll call you in an hour and a half, max, okay?”

“Oui, I'll be waiting.”

Leo blew a kiss, then hung up. He looked at Finn with an amused expression. “Ten bucks he'll be waiting by his phone until we call again.”

Finn snorted. “Oh, a hundred percent. Probably will stare at it, too, until it, like, explodes or something.”

Leo laughed and kissed him lightly. “C'mon, freckle face. Time to go.”

“I might need some assistance. Of the physical kind.”

Leo rolled his eyes. “Of course you do.” He grabbed Finn's hand gently. “Up you go.”

Leo wrapped an arm around Finn's waist, easing the pain in his back. Finn waggled his eyebrows. “Got my hot stuff-care staff.”

Leo sighed and kissed his cheek with a grin. “C'mon. Grumpy's waiting for us.”

***

Gryffindor, USA

“Yes, baby scored!”

Finn drummed on Leo's belly excitedly as they watched a replay of Logan’s goal. Percy’s saucer pass landed just on Logan's stick, which he slid underneath the pads of the Lightning goalie. Finn kissed behind Leo's ear repeatedly in celebration.

“Fucking beautiful, baby, geez.”

Leo laughed and reached a hand back to scratch at Finn’s scalp. “You're such a puppy. Full of energy.”

“How can you not be? We've got a sexy boyfriend that five-holes goalies like it's his job.”

“It is.”

“Even better.”

They settled back into the couch cushions again as the teams reset, Finn distractedly pressing his lips to Leo’s skin again. He always had such nervous energy when Logan was playing. He itched to be out on the ice with him again, tearing it up together, Leo a solid wall at their backs.

On the TV screen, Luke faced the Tampa center at the dot, sticks across his thighs. The ref dropped the puck and the Rangers won it. It was a bit of a scuffle, each team fighting hard in their offensive zone. After about a minute, Logan's line hopped the boards again. Alex cleanly checked Tampa's left defenseman and sent the puck up the boards where Logan was waiting with his stick. Finn was staring intently, focused just on Logan, but Leo let out a gasp. “Lo, watch-”

There was a cracking sound as number twenty-three crashed into Logan. He let out a yell, his stick tumbling from his hands, the right one cradled against his stomach.

“Shit,” Leo said, sitting up straight. Finn gripped his hips tightly. “Shit, Logan.”

The camera zoomed in on his face. He was in obvious pain, eyes shut, and talking rapidly to Alex. A trainer came up and asked him a couple questions, hand on his back as she led Logan off the ice. Both teams tapped their sticks against the boards. Finn and Leo watched as Logan disappeared down the tunnel. Finn looked at the clock- three minutes left in the third, and the Rangers were up 3-1.

Leo was bouncing his leg. “What happened?”

Finn drew him back down to him. “My bet is on his wrist, sunshine. I'm sure we'll hear something soon.”

Leo was biting his nails, which he only did when he was really nervous. “He's broken a lot of fingers, too, which isn't good if he keeps doing it.”

Finn drew Leo's hand away from his mouth and kissed it. “Just breathe, Le, baby. We won't know until we know.”

Leo couldn't sit still for the rest of the game, so he busied himself with cleaning up the kitchen from their dinner. Finn kept one eye on the TV, one eye on Leo's back. When he asked him if he needed help, Leo just shook his head with a, No thanks, sweetheart, and continued puttering around. Finn raised his eyebrows, but said nothing.

About forty-five minutes after the period ended, Finn's phone began to ring.

Leo slid over from the kitchen. “Who is it?”

“Will,” Finn said. He swiped to answer the video call. “Hey, Marshy-Marsh, how's it going?”

Will's jovial smile filled the screen. “Hey there, Harz. Figured I'd call and give you an update.”

Finn smiled back. “Aw, look at you, you softie.”

Will rolled his eyes. The background kept shifting behind him, as though he was walking. “I'm heading to PT right now.” There was the sound of a door opening, and then Percy's voice. Will grinned at whoever was in the room. “Hey, Tremz, I've got your better halves.”

Leo sat down, blue eyes expectant. Finn snorted. “Yeah, hey, Will? I've got an icy blue goalie stare burning a hole in my phone. May you please take us to our grumpy liege?”

Will laughed. “Sure thing.”

Percy came into the frame, smile wide. “‘Sup, A'Horo?”

“Hi, Sharmall.”

“Fish.”

“Okay, okay,” Finn said, patting Leo's thigh. “It's good to see you guys.”

Will took the cue, handing the phone over. Logan’s face filled the screen. “Salut.”

“Are you okay?” Leo asked, leaning in. His words came out in a rush. “What happened? That looked nasty, Lo. Have you eaten?”

Logan let out a full body laugh. “I'm okay, mon soleil. Broken wrist, but I should be back after Christmas.” He tilted his head and gazed at Leo fondly. “And Luke's getting Chinese food. Then I go to the hospital to get a real cast.”

Leo nodded approvingly. “Good. You can eat that with one hand.”

Logan blew him a kiss, then looked at Finn. “Rouge, ça va?”

“All good baby,” Finn replied. He touched his fingers to his phone screen. “Little worried about you. Which hand was it, again?”

“Right,” Logan said. He winked. “Not the one with my engagement ring.”

“Well thank God for that.” Finn turned his head to find Leo biting his nails again, watching Logan anxiously. He laughed and kissed Leo's cheek. “He's fine, Le.”

“He might just be saying that.”

“Non, soleil, I promise, I'm okay.” His smile was a little sad. “Wish I could kiss you, though.”

Leo softened at that. “Soon, honey. We've got a two day break after our road trip next week. We can come to New York.”

Logan made a happy noise. “Ouais, or maybe I can come visit.” He waved his fingers that were peaking out of the top of the make-shift cast. “I can't practice for a bit.”

“Okay,” Leo said. “But you have to fly, or take the bus or the train. You can't drive with that thing.”

Logan sighed fondly. “Has anyone ever told you how protective you are?”

Leo blushed and hid his nose in his sweatshirt. “Sorry.”

“Non, you're sweet.”

“The sweetest,” Finn agreed, biting Leo's jaw. “We’ll go visit Logan and just eat you up.”

Leo made a wanting noise, but it almost sounded like a protest. “He has to be careful-”

“I have another hand, soleil. And a mouth. I'll be just fine.”

There was a choking noise from off the screen, and Alex came into the frame. “I did not need to hear that, Jesus.”

Finn scoffed. “‘Sup, loser.”

Alex rolled his eyes. “Annoying little brother.” He nodded to Leo. “Annoying little brother's not annoying fiancé.”

“Hey!”

Leo laughed, which made Finn warm on the inside. “Hi, Al.  Good game.”

Alex saluted. “Why thank you, your Royal Knutness.” He slapped Logan’s good shoulder. “Food’s here. Then we gotta take this grumpy one to the hospital.”

Logan nudged him. “I am not.”

Alex shoved him gently back. “You so are.”

“Hey, you can't shove me, I'm injured.”

Alex pouted mockingly. “You poor thing.” He looked at the phone. “Bye, baby brother, bye, Leo. I leave you to your damsel in distress.”

“You have a big ass!” Finn yelled after him. He shook his head. “God, he's so annoying.”

Logan looked at him with raised eyebrows. “What's so bad about a big ass?”

Finn considered this for a moment, grinning at Logan silently. “You're too right, Tremblay. Alex doesn't have a big ass, he is a big ass.” He winked at Logan, then at Leo. “You two, on the other hand…”

They both laughed, Leo bonking his head against Finn's shoulder. Logan grinned softly at them for a moment before letting out a sigh. “Allez, I should go. I love you, I'll call you tomorrow.”

Leo let out a disapproving sound. “What about after the hospital?”

Logan shook his head. “It'll be late, mon coeur. I'll text you, ouais? Try and get some sleep. Do you have my necklace?”

Finn had it on, but he took it off and slipped it over Leo's head. “Now he does, baby.”

“Bien.” Logan kissed his fingers, then touched the screen. “Bonne nuit, I love you.”

“Love you, baby. Talk to you tomorrow.”

“Love you, honey.”

Logan smiled, then the call ended, displaying Finn's home screen. It was a picture of Logan and Leo at golden hour on Harvard campus, Logan kissing Leo's cheek. Finn had been so proud he'd caught that photo.

Leo let out a heavy breath through his lips and sagged into Finn's arms. “I won't be able to sleep tonight.”

“I'll rub your back, baby.” Finn kissed his head. “He's in good hands.”

Leo nodded. “Yeah. Yeah, he is.” He snuggled further into Finn's chest. “Can you hold me for a little bit?”

Finn made a happy noise in the back of his throat. “I'll hold you for the rest of our lives, sunshine. Of course I'll hold you tonight.” He jostled Leo a little bit. “How about we get ready for bed, then snuggle and read for a bit?”

“Okay, sounds good,” Leo said. He yawned. “I love you.”

“I love you, Le, baby. Love you so much.”

And with that, Finn coaxed him up and into the bathroom to start getting ready for bed.

***

Gryffindor, USA

“Shit.”

Finn stood up in the family box, watching as the Rangers got a breakaway. The Lions were on the penalty kill, Thomas left as the only defenseman in the Rangers’ offensive zone. New York's fourth line was scrappy, and they were out for blood as they screamed up the ice.

It was now a three on one, Leo obviously waiting anxiously in his crease to see what Thomas would do. Thomas kept them at bay for as long as he could, but he was outnumbered- the wing sent it past him to the center, and Leo came out to deliver a clean poke check- and the Rangers center completely disregarded it, knocking Leo onto his back and sailing into his own goal.

Finn let out a shout as Leo hit the ice hard. Logan, in his blue jersey, had already hopped the bench and rushed over to Leo, angrily swearing at his teammate, probably in French. The ref gave him a stern word and he quieted with narrowed eyes. But he turned to Leo, hands gentle as he took his gloves off to press them lovingly to Leo's chest.

Finn was running his teeth across his bottom lip anxiously. He waited a minute to see what Leo would do. When he didn't get up, and when Logan called for a trainer, Finn started tapping his foot nervously.

“Finn, sweetheart, you okay?”

Finn turned to look at Hope Lupin. She and Lyall flew in to watch a stretch of home games in Gryffindor while Julian was on a class trip. They were both looking at him with concern. He accepted the arm Hope put around his shoulder.

“Yeah,” he said. “Just wanna see if he's okay.”

At this point, Sirius and Remus had come to help the trainers get Leo and his bulky padding off the ice. He was favoring his left leg. His back-up, Hugo, gave him a pat on the shoulder and went to take his place in the goal. The Rangers had drawn a penalty.

Hope squeezed him for a moment. “Why don't you head down, honey? You can watch Logan from the PT room with Leo if he's feeling up to it.”

Finn nodded. “Right. Yeah, yeah, you're right.” He turned to look at her. “Thank you.”

Her smile was gentle. “Any time, sweetheart.”

“Tell Leo we hope he's okay,” Lyall said.

Finn grabbed his coat. “Will do. See you guys later.”

He hurried down the familiar tunnels to the Lions locker room. The guard didn't even need to see him flash his pass. One of them, Amelia, gave him a comforting pat on the back as he entered. He smiled at her and continued through the doorway to the PT room, where Layla, who'd taken over for Lars a few years ago when he moved to Minnesota, was examining Leo's thigh. She looked up when she saw him. “Hey, Harz.”

Leo, who was relaxing back in the chair, now free of his padding, tilted his head. His blue eyes were a bit strained, but he smiled. “Hi, honey.”

Finn walked over and took off the chain he was wearing around his neck. Leo didn't like to wear things under his padding. When he was away, he left his rings in a nice little jewelry box Finn and Logan had given him as a small gift after their wedding. But for home games, he put them on his gold chain and placed it over Finn's head in the morning before he left for morning skate. Now, Finn kissed the rings, then kissed Leo's forehead as he placed the chain over his neck. “Howdy, butter baby.” He brushed Leo's hair back from his face, then turned to Layla. “What's the diagnosis, doc?”

“Hamstring strain. Right leg. Guy collided with Leo real hard when he was in a crouch and stretched it real good.” She focused on massaging the muscle for a second before looking at Leo with raised eyebrows. “Also a bit of neck strain from his head hitting the ice.”

Alarm bells went off in Finn’s brain. He jerked his head to Leo. “No dizziness? Concussion? Le, baby, you okay?”

Leo snorted. “You want Layla’s job?”

Finn blushed. “Sorry.”

Leo tugged Finn’s shirt to bring him down and kiss him. “I'm okay, I promise. Just a little whiplash, really. I'll take it easy for a bit.” He played with the hem of Finn’s sweater for a moment, then looked at the TV. “Look, third period’s almost done.”

Finn did look. It was 2-1, Rangers. Hugo had only let in one goal, then, and there were about ten seconds left. Finn brushed Leo’s curls off his face. “Sorry about the loss, baby.”

Leo smiled gently at him. “It’s okay. We’re both clinched for the playoffs. We’re trying to just finish out the season, really.”

A horn sounded, then the players were shaking hands. Finn laughed to himself as he saw Logan rushing through it, obviously eager to be off the ice. Leo must've noticed it too, because he snorted. “How long until he's barging through that door?”

Layla scoffed. “Less than ten minutes.” She looked up at them from where she was still massaging Leo’s muscle. “He’s not very sneaky, is he?”

Finn smiled. “No, he's not.” He peered at where her fingers were working against Leo’s thigh. “How’s it going?”

“Good, a little less tension.” She stepped back, stretching out her fingers. “I'm going to leave you here for a minute, Leo, and check in on the other guys. Then I'll bring you some painkillers and a special pillow for your neck, deal?”

Leo nodded, holding up a fist for her to bump. “Deal. Thank you, ma’am.”

She winked, bumped his fist, then was out the door.

Now that they were alone, Finn took the opportunity to sit on the PT chair beside Leo, stroking his hair back from his face. “You scared me for a moment there, husband.” When Leo wrinkled his nose, Finn laughed. “What?”

Leo laced their fingers together. “I don't know, people don't really use just the word ‘husband’ as a pet name.”

Finn pouted. “But it's my favorite word.”

Leo kissed his hand with a grin. “I know it is. Mine, too. It just sounds weird in that context.”

“What about if I say my husband? Huh, how does that sound?”

Leo rolled his eyes, but he was smiling and blushing. “You’re ridiculous.”

“Nuh uh,” Finn protested. “You are my husband. I've got the pictures to prove it, I've got three rings- and I probably have some hickeys still left over on the inside of my thighs from our honeymoon.”

Leo snorted and put a hand over his eyes. “No you don't, that was months ago.”

Finn leaned down to nuzzle his cheek. “I don't know. You and Lo kind of went to town.”

There was the sound of heavy, rushing footsteps outside the door. Leo smiled. “Speak of the devil.”

“Oh yeah,” Finn said. He sat up and counted down on his fingers. “Three, two, one-”

“Soleil.” Logan burst through the door, panting. He had taken the pads on his upper body off, but not the ones on his legs. He still had his skates on. “Soleil.”

Leo laughed at him. “You look ridiculous.”

Logan just scowled. Finn moved down the bed so Logan could kneel by Leo’s head. For all his forceful intensity, he touched Leo’s cheek so softly. “What happened, mon coeur?”

“Hammie strain in my right thigh, a neck strain. Whiplash, mostly, I think.”

Logan touched the base of his neck, as if to sooth the hurt. “And your head?”

Leo kissed his forearm. “All good, honey.”

Logan nodded. “Bien.” He kissed Leo softly. “I missed you, mon amour.”

Finn smiled. The Rangers had gotten in a little late due to some rain, so Leo and Logan didn't have time to say hi until they were already on the ice. Finn had had the privilege of being allowed into the visitor’s locker room for a quick kiss (or two, or three, or four- Finn had lost count, actually) and an I love you, but his husbands had only had the chance to tap helmets on the ice before taking their places. As if to make up for it, Logan was pressing soft kisses all over Leo’s face.

“Lo,” Leo laughed, then winced. “Ow, don't make me laugh too hard.”

“Désolé,” Logan whispered. He kissed Leo lingeringly. “Désolé, I'm sorry, I love you.”

Leo rubbed a hand up and down Logan's ribs. “I love you. Now.” He patted Logan's butt firmly a few times. “Go get changed and listen to your coach, then it's home time, okay? Then we can carefully cuddle.”

“Ouais,” Logan said. “So carefully.” He kissed Leo again. “See you in a bit.” When he turned to Finn, he opened his arms for a hug. “Rouge.”

Finn came and wrapped him up. They were eye-to-eye when Logan was in skates. “Good game, baby.”

“Mm, merci.” Logan pulled back to kiss him. “Je t'aime, I'll be right back.”

Like Leo had, Finn patted Logan's butt. “Atta boy, hubs.” Both his husbands looked at him imploringly. “I'm telling you, it'll catch on.”

Logan just kissed him again, then turned to lean down and kiss Leo's forehead. He tried to walk away, but came back to kiss Leo once more. “Allez,” he muttered to himself. “Allez, I love you, I'm going.” Then he was out the door just as subtly as he came in, skates clunking down the hallway.

Leo looked to Finn fondly. “He is the most grumpy and fiery sweetheart there ever was.”

Finn hummed happily and ran a hand through Leo’s hair. “Too right you are.” He moved his hand down to thumb Leo's lip. “How about ice cream sundaes when we get home?”

Leo smiled. “Sounds perfect.”

The door clicked open behind them. Layla stepped through, holding a bright pink pillow, almost like the kind to take on a plane, with emojis on it. It looked a bit ridiculous.

“All right,” she said, dark eyes twinkling. “How about some neck support?”

Leo and Finn looked at each other and laughed.

Please cubs wisdom tooth removal🥹🥹! I can so see Finn being hilarious and just making inappropriate jokes in the dentist office, Logan being sleepy and clingy just hanging off of his boys, and for some reason I just see Leo straight up sobbing about how much he loves them and asking them if they love him back (how I acted towards my bf I can’t lie)

I remember when my friends all got theirs out and the pictures and videos were so fucking funny. Those videos never cease to make me laugh!

Have Finn being himself but times 10 (and in public, YEESH), Logan being an extra snuggly koala bear (again), and Leo being just the sweetest sweetheart there ever sweethearted!

When Finn came to, the light was blinding. He squinted against the brightness, feeling slightly fuzzy, and turned his aching neck in confusion. This was not his comfy bed, which was big, fluffy, and always warm. This particular chair was tiny, stiff, and severely lacking in human barnacle furnaces, which he was so accustomed to sleeping with that it was disorienting waking up without other limbs splayed across him. He tried to sit up, couldn't, huffed, and plopped back down. His surroundings were still blurry, but he tried to make shapes out in the haze anyway. He turned his head to the left, and-

“Woah,” Finn said. He blinked hard, sure his eyes had malfunctioned, but when he opened them again it was still the same view. “Oh man.”

There, right in front of him, we're two very handsome Greek gods. Or, at least, they had to have been Greek gods, because that kind of beauty was ethereal. Otherworldly. Jaw-dropping. And what was more devastating was they were smiling at him, which did nothing to help his current disbelieving predicament. Instead, he thought, it would be worth it to use his charm. Everyone loved a charmer, and Finn was nothing if not a well-practiced extrovert.

As such, he gave them his most dashing smile and batted his eyelashes in a way he had been told was sexy. When he spoke, his voice sounded funny, but he at least had to try. “Now, what are a couple pretty things like you doing in a place like this?”

Logan snorted and approached the chair, running his fingers through Finn's hair. “Salut, mon rouge.”

Finn decided to try a different tactic. “Hey, gorgeous. Come here, often?”

“Non, no I don't come here.”

That made Finn giddy. “Well, I can make you, if you want.”

“Finn,” Leo admonished, but he was blushing with a smile. “There are other people.”

A woman on Finn's other side, dressed in floral scrubs, let out a laugh. “Don't worry about it. Happens all the time.” She rummaged around on a table, then turned to Leo and Logan. “I think it's time to get him home.”

“Yes,” Finn nodded eagerly. He reached for the hem of Logan's shirt. “Take me home.”

“Rouge,” Logan said gently. He eased Finn's hand into his and squeezed. “Quiet, mon coeur.”

“Make me.”

“My Lord,” Leo laughed. He, too, approached Logan's chair and rubbed a hand on his thigh. “You are hopeless, sweetheart. Let's get you home and to bed.”

Finn winked. “Only if you join me.” He scrunched his brow. “My face feels funny.”

The nurse laughed. “You sure are a talker, huh? That'll be the meds, hon. You've just gotten your wisdom teeth out.”

That alarmed him. “So my wisdom is gone? But then how will I know how to fuck my-”

Logan gently placed a hand over his mouth with a startled look. “Non, Fish.” He looked at the nurse with wide eyes. “Sorry about him.”

She just laughed again. “You have fun with him.” She slapped her hands on her knees and stood. “C'mon Finn, your boys will take you home.”

“Yay,” Finn said around Logan's hand. He wrapped his fingers around Logan’s wrist. “Yay, yay, yay.”

Leo pinched his thigh then stepped into Logan's space. Together, they helped Finn stand and each put an arm around his waist. He listed a little into Logan and put a hand on his chest to steady himself. Finn raised his eyebrows in startled surprise at the hard muscle underneath. He grinned down and met Logan's fond green gaze with wide eyes. “Whoa.” He spun himself to face Logan completely, slightly too quickly.

“Geez, Fish,” Leo scolded. He followed and pressed himself behind Finn with a firm grip to his waist. “Be careful.”

Finn just ignored him and used two hands to cup Logan's pecs. “Woah.” He stared down at Logan's chest, which was pressing tight to the edges of his shirt. “Are you real?”

Logan was bright red and grinning. “Rouge…”

“Wait.” Finn turned in their arms and cupped Leo's chest, too. It was a bit softer than Logan's, so he ran his fingers down Leo's torso. When he got to his abs and felt the ridges under his fingertips, his eyes widened further. When he looked back up at Leo, he was smirking. “I know what I want to do when I get home.”

Leo just shook his head fondly and bit his lip around a smitten grin. “Oh yeah? What's that?”

Finn leaned in. “You.” He glanced over his shoulder at Logan. “And you.”

Leo guffawed, but Logan just twitched. “Rouge, mon Dieu, you can't say that here.” He nodded to the nurse who was looking at them amusedly. “She's waiting for us, we've got to go.”

The nurse played along, clapping her hands. “Chop chop, loverboy. Gotta get you into bed with some fluids.”

Finn nodded eagerly and straightened. “Yes, please.” He gathered Leo and Logan to either side of him and walked them forward hurriedly. They stumbled, but followed him out. “Bed, let's go to bed, yeah.”

“So sorry about him, again, ma'am,” Leo said. He had to talk over his shoulder as Finn made a beeline for the front door. “Thanks for your help! The doc gave us instructions.”

“Have a lovely day!” She winked. “And not too much fun yet.”

Leo laughed and waved before helping Logan aid Finn in walking to the car. Once he was strapped in, Finn wiggled back in his seat. “So,” he said, waggling his eyebrows, grin sharp and slightly painful around his chubby cheeks. “I hear your instructions are to take me home.”

Then he leaned back as his boys rolled their eyes, head lolling against the headrest, and passed out promptly five minutes into the ride home.

***

Leo watched Logan's tired eyes blink open slowly, the drowsiness making him heavy against the dentist chair. He squinted at them, confused, before letting out a sigh and closing his eyes once more. He reached his hands out, levitating them over his body, straight out and stiff. Leo looked to Finn, who had a hand over his mouth and was shaking in silent laughter.

Logan sighed heavily again. “Ici.”

Finn laughed softly and walked over to take Logan's hands gently in his own. “How you doing, ten?”

Logan's brow furrowed. “Ici.”

Leo smiled and approached the chair to rub Logan's thighs gently. “Honey, we can't snuggle yet. Gotta get you home first.”

Logan let out a whine. He opened his eyes and his expression was defiant. “Non. Non, ce n'est pas bien.”

Finn leaned down to kiss his forehead. “Let's go, baby boy. Time to get up.”

“Help,” Logan said. He reached out for Finn's shoulders and wrapped his arms around him. “Help, please.”

Finn wrapped him up and hauled him to a sitting position. “There you go, baby. You okay?”

Logan just looked out at Leo over Finn’s shoulder with soft eyes. “Soleil, viens ici.”

Leo shook his head. “You've gotta get up, honey. We've gotta take you home.”

Logan let out one more petulant whine that he would surely be embarrassed about later. “Non, soleil, viens ici. Je veux un câlin de toi.”

Leo passed his hands once more up and down Logan’s thighs. “How about this, sweetheart: if you stand, I'll give you a hug.”

Logan groaned into Finn's shoulder, which was a little wet with drool. “Non. Non, non, non.”

“Yon,” Finn said. He pulled gently away and took Logan's hands. “C'mon, my baby, let's go. I'll get your stuff and the keys ready, Le will help you to the car.”

Finn helped Logan stand with another groan and Logan patted his cheek lovingly. “Merci, rouge.” He turned to Leo and held his arms out. “Soleil.”

Leo laughed and rested his chin on top of Logan's head, watching as Finn amusedly gathered their instructions from the doctor and said goodbye to the remaining nurses. “Salut, Lo.”

“Mm, français,” Logan sighed happily. He tucked his face into Leo's chest. “Je préfère le français.”

“I know you do, honey,” Leo replied, rubbing a hand gently up and down Logan's back. “But Fish can't always understand.”

“Should learn.”

“I'll have you know,” Finn said, turning towards them. “I understand more than you think.” He tilted his head. “At least, I know when you tell me you love me. And when you demand things from me.”

Logan peeked out from Leo's chest. “Bisou.”

Finn placed a smacking kiss to Logan's forehead. “There you go, baby.”

Logan grinned the best he could around the gauze in his mouth before closing his eyes. He didn't say anything, just sighed heavily again.

The nurse was smiling around a laugh and approached Finn. “You need a wheelchair to get him out of here?”

Leo shook his head with a grin. “No thank you, ma'am, we'll be fine.” He passed a hand through Logan’s hair. “Open your eyes, Lo, we're gonna go.”

“Câlins?”

“When we get home sweetheart. All the hugs you want.”

Logan hummed but stepped back. “Bien. Allez.” He wrapped an arm around Leo’s waist and took a step forward towards the door, carefully watching his feet. He almost ran into Finn and looked up with pleased eyes. “Rouge.”

Finn grinned down at him and shouldered his backpack. “Hi, Lo, baby. Ready to go?”

“Ouais.” Logan turned to the nurse. “Merci.” He tugged at Leo’s waist. “Allez, soleil. Câlins.”

“Coming up, sweetheart, as soon as we get home.”

Forty-five minutes later, Logan was settled back to chest with Leo on the couch, Finn settling down beside them with some water and electrolyte powder. He threw an arm around the back of the couch to stroke Leo's hair and rested his other hand on Logan's stomach. “Feeling okay, baby?”

Logan's sleepy eyes looked out at him. “Ouais.” He wiggled back into Leo and stretched out his arm closest to Finn. “Câlin.”

Finn complied and rested his head on Logan's shoulder, Leo winding an arm around to rub at his ribs. Leo rested his own head on top of Logan's and closed his eyes. He was just about to fall asleep when a gasp from Logan jerked him awake.

“Merde,” Logan whispered. “I can't kiss you until my mouth heals!” He let out a frustrated groan.

Leo and Finn burst out laughing and Leo kissed his head.

“Lots of hugs then, Lo,” he said gently. He and Finn smiled at each other. “Lots and lots of hugs.”

***

“And you're, like, my- my boyfriends?”

Logan laughed from where he was sat in the backseat with Leo. “Ouais, soleil. We're your boyfriends.”

“You got two of us, Le,” Finn said. He smiled and caught Logan's eye in the rearview mirror. “How ‘bout that, huh?”

“Oh my God,” Leo gasped. He burst into tears again. “Oh my God!”

Logan tried not to laugh as he shushed Leo again and wiped his slightly puffy, tear-streaked cheeks. He'd been like this since awakening from being under anesthesia. At first, he had been excited to learn he had two boyfriends, and had dragged them like a puppy out to the car. Now, though, it seemed like the emotions had become too much for him, and he'd been crying in amazement pretty much since Logan had buckled him in and Finn had pulled out of the parking lot. Logan figured that Leo should've counted himself lucky they weren't video taping him.

Leo was still crying when he took Logan’s hand in his own and squeezed tightly to stop him from wiping his cheeks. “And do you- you love me?”

Logan’s shoulders relaxed and he softened. “Ouais, mon coeur.” He once again caught Finn’s eye in the mirror. They were both flushed with love and smiling gently. He turned back to look Leo in the eyes and kissed his cheek. “More than anything. Toujours.”

Leo's eyes widened. “Et tu parles français.” He leaned forward to look at Finn. Logan placed a palm on his waist to steady him. “Parles-tu français?”

Finn laughed. “Just a bit, baby. Just enough to tell you I don't. And to give you kisses and coffee.”

Leo thanked his head back on his seat happily. “Je t'aime.” He blinked hard and looked sharply to Logan. “I've told you I love you, right?”

Logan couldn't help it. He grinned and nudged Leo's cheek with his nose before kissing him there again. “From the very first day we said we wanted each other, you told us you were going to love us.” He brushed the gray pieces back from Leo's face, accenting his wide blue eyes. They were, as usual, taking in everything Logan was saying without even trying. “And then a little while later I told you I love you.”

“We.”

“Ouais, we did,” Logan amended. He smirked. “But I said it first.”

“Don't listen to him, Le,” Finn said with a fond eye roll. “We had a plan, but somebody got too impatient.” He winked back at Leo. “Your boyfriends both have impulsive streaks. You sure you still want us?”

“Uh,” Leo said. He looked between them tearily. “Oui, I do.”

“Good.” Finn reached a hand back to squeeze Leo's fingers. “Because we want you forever, how does that sound?”

“Oh,” Leo whispered. His eyes were watering again and Logan swiped the tear that fell with his thumb. Leo looked at him and smiled. “I'd like that.” His slightly swollen bottom lip quivered. “You're really good boyfriends.”

“Aw, baby,” Finn laughed. He spun the wheel deftly to turn at the green light. “You're a good boyfriend, too.”

Leo looked down at Logan with his glistening baby blues. “I am?”

“Ouais, mon amour,” Logan sighed happily. He guided Leo’s head to his shoulder and laced their fingers. Leo’s breathing had calmed. “The best.” He kissed Leo’s curls and watched Finn’s sharp jaw spread in a smile as he drove. “Sleep, mon soleil. I'll tell you when we’re home.”

I swear someone asked for a fic about the first time the Cubs saw each other cry, BUT I THINK I DELETED IT I AM SO SO SO SORRY!! :(((( However, I still wrote it, so whoever it was, here is my gift to you. Giving you a big virtual hug!!

There are some canon times we do see them cry, so I took some liberty with this. So these are SOME of the first moments we see them cry with one another, as I have imagined them.

Side note, it was REALLY hard to come up with something that would make Finn really upset. I feel like, for him to cry, something needs to really rock his boat (like Logan getting traded), sooooo... I made him sick. Sorry, Harzy, I guess. He is not very good at being sick.

Mid-April 2019

The bar was a bit loud, Logan thought, even for a Friday night. There was a rowdy group of people on the other side of the room, and the bass of whatever was on the jukebox was pounding in his skull, making his jaw tingle. It was a rare Friday night out, their last one before the playoffs, and Logan was committed to enjoying himself. He took a sip of his rum and coke, eyeing Leo where he was talking with Thomas and Remus over at a high top. His blonde curls were stuck with sweat to his forehead, his cheeks flushed in the same way they did on the ice, in the gym- in bed, Logan now knew.

Living with him and Finn was like living a dream every day of his life. While they couldn't be together in public quite yet, they could be together at home, in the apartment they shared that smelled like the three of them, with Leo's pristine kitchen and Finn's overflowing bookshelf. He scanned their corner, looking for a familiar shade of red, when he felt an arm come across his shoulders.

“Hey, you,” Finn said. His gesture was platonic, but he said everything Logan needed to know with his eyes. The corners of which, Logan noticed, were a bit strained. “How we doing?”

Logan nodded, brow furrowed. “Good. Rouge, you okay?”

Finn bit the inside of his cheek, gripping Logan's shoulder harder. “Yeah, feeling- feeling a bit dizzy, though.”

Logan turned, grabbing Finn's biceps to get a good look at him. “Merde, rouge, you're pale.”

Finn winked, but it wasn't convincing. “You already knew that, Lo.”

Logan made a noise in his throat. “Non, you're really pale.” He pressed his palm to Finn's forehead. “And hot, fuck. You have a fever.”

“No, I'm fine, I-”

“Non, Fish, we've gotta go home.” He turned to face away briefly. “Leo!”

Leo turned abruptly, his bright smile falling as he saw Logan's expression. He excused himself, then came over hurriedly. “What's wrong?”

Logan stepped aside to allow him to look at Finn. “Rouge has a fever.”

Leo immediately put his own palm to Finn's forehead, wincing as their skin connected. “Shit, Harz, you're burning. Does your stomach hurt?””

Finn rolled his eyes. “Only a little-”

“What'd you have to drink? Did you eat anything funny?”

Finn huffed. “I had one beer, and lunch at the rink and you cooked me dinner. I swear, I'm fine!”

Leo raised his eyebrows. “Spring flu is going around. Kuny was out with it last week, remember? We should go home.”

“But it's our last night out before the playoffs, and-”

“Ah,” Leo said, in a very good impression of his mother. “I don't want to hear it.” He took Finn under his arm and steered him towards the door. “Let's go. Time to go home.”

They called out their goodbyes over their shoulders, Remus narrowing his eyes, concerned. “All good?”

Logan shrugged. “Rouge doesn't feel so good. We're taking him home.”

“Let me and Coach know, okay Tremz? Trainer's orders.”

Logan smiled. “Ouais, promise.” He clapped Remus on the back. “Night, Loops.”

“Drive safe.”

They walked out to the car, Leo reaching into Finn’s front pocket to get the keys. Finn huffed out a sigh but dutifully sat himself in the backseat, head lolling to lean against the cool window. Logan furrowed his eyebrows at Leo from the passenger side, but Leo just shrugged. So he had no idea then, either.

They rode in silence, letting Finn rest his eyes, Leo with his hand on Logan's thigh and drumming with his fingers. Logan took his hand and played with the digits, eyes flashing to Finn in the side view mirror. His gray T-shirt was a little damp with sweat around the neckline and he looked uncomfortable. Logan frowned as Leo turned into their parking garage, the change in tempo rousing Finn from his sleep. He blinked, then winced, placing a hand on his stomach. Something was wrong.

As soon as Leo had the car in park, Logan hopped out to open Finn's door and give him a hand. Finn, despite being in obvious pain, attempted a smirk. “Chivalry is not dead after all.”

Logan just raised his eyebrows. Finn sighed, but took Logan's hand.

“When did you start feeling sick, honey?” Leo asked as they made their way to the elevator.

Finn's hand gripped Logan's hard. “I don't know, this afternoon? I felt a little dehydrated at practice this morning, I guess, but that was all before we took our nap after lunch.”

Leo bit the inside of his cheek as the door opened. “Come here. Let's go get a thermometer.”

Inside their apartment, Logan settled Finn on the couch and went to get him some water while Leo went to their bathroom. When he came back with a glass, Finn had slumped back into the cushions, breathing a little ragged. Leo put a hand on his forehead and coaxed him into opening his mouth, slipping the metal probe under his tongue. When it beeped, Leo squinted at the little screen and his eyes widened. “Shit, Fish.”

“Quoi?” Logan asked worriedly.

Leo turned the thermometer so he could see. “A hundred and two. Geez, Finn, that's high.”

Logan gripped Leo's forearm. “Hospital?”

Leo shook his head, placing a cooling hand on Finn's temple. “Not unless it lasts a few days, or gets to a hundred and three.” He kissed the skin just beside Finn's eye. “How you feeling, sweetheart?”

Finn groaned. “Sick. Feel really sick.” He curled around himself a bit. “Tummy hurts.”

“Okay,” Leo said. “I'll get you some ginger ale, some ibuprofen, and a pillow and blanket. Lo, can you take him to shower? I think he should sleep out here.”

Logan nodded, lifting Finn from under his arms. Finn whined out, but Logan gently shushed him as he guided him to their bathroom. He helped them both brush their teeth, then Finn shivered as Logan undressed him, his skin covered in goosebumps and a little sensitive.

“Rouge, hot or cold?”

“Hot,” Finn said. His brown eyes were a bit glassy. “Please.”

Logan got the shower up to temperature and helped Finn under the spray, immediately going to wash his sweaty hair and body. He wanted him in dry clothes and under blankets as soon as possible, and Finn didn't look like he could stand up much longer.

“Mon rouge,” Logan whispered, kissing his cheek. “What's wrong?”

Finn fell forward with his head on Logan's shoulder. “I feel so shit.”

Logan kissed his neck repeatedly, carding his fingers through his thick waves. “Why didn't you tell us?”

“Don't know,” Finn said, pressing harder into Logan's hold. “Didn't want to stop you from going out.”

Logan backed them out of the shower and wrapped Finn in a towel. “Non, you could never disappoint us.” He stood on his toes and kissed Finn's forehead firmly. “I would rather stay here with you than go out. Le, too.” Finn just nodded, obviously too tired to argue. Logan wrapped him up tighter in the towel and tugged him to their bedroom. He dressed them in boxers only before going back to the living room. “Le?”

“Here,” Leo said. He smiled gently, opening his arms for Finn to fall into. “Hi, sweetheart. Got you some ginger ale, okay? I'm going to go have a shower, then I'll sit here with you.”

Finn made an affirmative noise, and Logan watched as he let himself be tucked under the blankets Leo had put out, propped against a few spare pillows from their closet. Leo handed him a cup with a straw and kissed his forehead before turning to Logan.

“Ça va?” Logan asked as Leo cupped his jaw.

“Ouais,” Leo whispered. “I'll stay out with him for a while, okay, honey? You should get some sleep.”

Logan pinched his eyebrows together. “Non, je-”

Leo interrupted him with a kiss and a soft smile. “No, it's better if one of us sleeps. He'll need space to let the fever run its course, too, so we can't snuggle him on the couch anyways.” Leo shrugged. “Besides, it's not like I will sleep a lot regardless.” At Logan's noise of dissent, Leo laughed breathily and shushed him, pulling Logan closer. “One problem at a time, sweetheart.” He kissed Logan again and wrapped him in a hug. “Go say goodnight and go to bed, please. I love you.”

“Je t'aime.”

With a last peck, Leo walked to their bathroom. Logan sighed, watching his back for a brief moment before turning back to Finn, who was blinking up at him with big eyes. Logan knelt by his head, and brushed his hair out of his face. “Salut, mon rouge.”

“Mm,” Finn sighed. He closed his eyes and breathed heavily. “Love you.”

“I love you, I love you, I love you.”

Finn sighed again and then his breathing evened out. Logan kissed his temple in a lingering press of his lips before quietly standing and walking towards their bedroom. With a last look at Finn and at the bathroom door, he crawled into bed, big and lonely without either of his boys, and laid down to try and sleep.

“Okay, it's okay, honey. Let's go to the bathroom.”

Logan jerked awake at the sound of Leo's voice through their open bedroom doorway. He heard a thump, then two sets of footsteps, and a groan from Finn down the hallway. Logan sprung out of bed, jogging quickly to watch just in time as Finn threw up in the toilet.

“There you go, baby,” Leo said, rubbing a hand up and down Finn's sweaty back.

Finn reached up with a tired hand to flush the liquid away, head bent over the seat. He let out a groan and wilted a bit, Leo scooting behind him to support his weight with an arm around Finn's stomach. He was sweating profusely and shaking, face paler than it had been.

“Fuck,” Finn said.

“Oh, mon coeur.” Logan knelt beside them. “Feel better?”

Finn shook his head. “Uh uh.”

Logan tisked. “Want water?”

That made Finn gulp. “No. Gonna be sick again.”

“Shit,” Leo said. He reached another hand around to brush Finn's hair out of his eyes. “Don't try and force it down, honey, that'll make worse.”

And with that, Finn bent his head over the toilet once more as his stomach convulsed. “Ugh.”

Logan pressed the lever on the toilet this time, allowing Finn to sink back into Leo again.

“Okay?” Leo asked.

“No.” Finn's breath hitched. “Le.”

“Sh, sh, I know.” Leo adjusted them, bracketing Finn with his legs and allowing him to sit curled against his chest. He pressed a hard kiss to the side of Finn's head. “I know, it hurts. I think your fever is breaking at the same time. But it's okay, baby, we got you.”

Finn let out a noise and Logan realized he was crying. Logan reached out to rub his arm. “Rouge.”

“I'm sorry,” Finn said wetly. He peeked out at Logan with one teary eye. “I'm sorry, it just really hurts.”

“Sh, sh,” Leo said again. He brushed Finn's cheeks with his thumbs. “Don't be sorry, Fish. It sucks to be sick.”

“It's not just that,” Finn sniffled, tears now flowing freely down his freckles. “It-it's that I've been feeling like shit for hours, and my head hurts, and my stomach hurts, and we have the playoffs soon, and I ruined our night out-”

“Whoa,” Logan interrupted. He took one of Finn's hands and kissed it. “Mon amour, I told you that you didn't ruin anything.”

Leo turned to look at Finn, too. “You're worried about ruining our night out?”

Finn's bottom lip was poking out and quivering as he nodded. “Yeah.”

Leo let out an oh and wrapped him tighter in his arms. Finn clung to his biceps. “Oh, honey, no, you didn't ruin anything.” He tucked his nose into Finn's hair. “And in terms of the playoffs, we still have a few days. That means you can rest, it's probably just a stomach bug. You'll be good as new in no time, sweetheart.”

“Ouais, rouge,” Logan agreed. He leaned forward and kissed his cheek. “We just want you better.”

Finn groaned again. “I feel so sick.” He looked up at Leo. “I'm sorry, peanut, this is not-” His breath hitched with another round of tears. “This is not very sexy.”

Leo laughed, which just made Finn cry harder into his shoulder. He kissed Finn's head. “Oh, sweetheart, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I laughed, it's not funny.”

“No it's not.”

Leo wrapped him up fully. “It's not very sexy, no. But I love you.”

Finn let out a strangled noise, then abruptly turn his wet face around and threw up another time into the basin. He moaned. “I just want to be better.”

Leo supported him still with a hand low on his stomach and Logan rubbed his back. “I know, mon chou,” Logan said.

“It still hurts, why does it still hurt?” Finn cried, before vomiting once more.

“Geez,” Leo said. “You think that's all?”

“Ugh,” Finn groaned. He flushed a final time, then fell back, letting out an oof and a sniffle. “I think so. I still feel really sick.”

Logan clucked his tongue and pressed his hand to Finn's forehead. “Still warm, rouge.”

“Why don't you brush your teeth, honey,” Leo said, rubbing his hands up and down Finn's heaving ribs. “I'll get you some ginger ale again.”

Finn wiped his eyes. “Yeah, okay. Thank you.”

Leo kissed his cheek, then lifted Finn under his arms to help him stand. Logan took his weight, then Leo was gone back to the kitchen, and the two of them were stood in front of the mirror. Logan rested his lips to Finn’s shoulder and played with his fingers while Finn brushed his teeth. He had a bit more color, but was still sweaty and shaky.

“Are you cold, mon amour?” Logan asked once Finn was done rinsing his mouth.

Finn touched their foreheads together. “I don't know. Now I am, but on the couch I was hot.”

“It's the fever,” Leo said as he appeared in the doorway. “I think it's still breaking.” He winced. “Not ideal when you're also throwing up.”

Finn took the ginger ale. “Thank you, peanut.”

“You're welcome, sweetheart.”

“Allez,” Logan said. “Let's go sit.” He kissed Finn's wet cheek, then Leo's. “We can sleep.”

Leo pursed his lips. “But we can't-”

Logan kissed him on the mouth. “I'll hold you in the chair so you can sleep, mon coeur. Then Finn has his own space, but we can be there.”

Leo traced a finger down his cheek, then kissed his nose. “Okay.” He turned to Finn. “Sound good?”

To their surprise, Finn grin and winked. “Got my own nursing staff.”

Logan rolled his eyes. “Merde. Only you say dirty things while sick.”

Finn huffed out a chuckle, but wobbled a bit, spilling some ginger ale. “Whoops.”

Leo sighed, wrapping an arm around his shoulders. “Come on, sweetheart. Bed time.”

Logan let Leo tuck Finn in while he went to get more pillows and blankets. After they each gave Finn a kiss on the forehead, Logan sat in their leather chair and reclined it, pulling the lever for the foot rest. He fluffed a pillow behind him and opened his arm with a look to Leo. “Ici, soleil.”

Leo climbed in gingerly, careful not to put too much weight on the footrest, then settled onto Logan's chest with a sigh. His feet hung off the end, but he didn't seem to care. Logan tugged the blanket over both of them. “Ça va?”

Leo nodded into his chest and kissed his collarbone. “You sure you'll be able to sleep like this?”

“Of course,” Logan said. He squeezed Leo to him. “With you, always.”

“Mm.” Leo shifted slightly, burrowing his nose into Logan's neck and peeking out at Finn's sleeping form. “Hope he's okay.”

“I'm sure he will be, soleil.” Logan kissed his forehead softly. “Je t'aime.”

“Love you,” Leo said. He yawned, making his face look like that of a puppy, and Logan pinched his button nose as it scrunched up. “Hey.”

Logan nuzzled their noses together and kissed his lips lightly. “Love you, love you, love you.” He sighed. “Bonne nuit, mon amour.”

Leo let out a breath, and between one moment and the next, they were both asleep.

Mid-March 2019

Logan’s hands shook slightly as he held his cell phone, his mother’s contact staring up at him. It was a picture of the two of them in Nice during the summer when Logan had been about seven. He was wet and sandy, his hair short and spiky like he'd liked at that age. He and his maman were both facing the camera, his skinny arms reaching up to wrap around her neck. He'd always loved physical affection, and was a frequent snuggler with all his family members, but with his mother especially when he was younger. They were both laughing in the photo. The fading sunset reflected against his mother’s dark hair and made her skin golden. Logan thumbed over her face- he had her eyes.

“Fuck,” he whispered, dropping his cell phone on Leo and Finn’s apartment floor. “Merde.”

“Lo?” came Leo's voice from the bedroom. He stepped out, curls damp from their post-run shower and in shorts and Finn's sweatshirt. “You okay?”

Logan just looked at him. Leo made a soft noise, coming over to the couch and tucking Logan under his arm. Logan pulled the Saints sweatshirt sleeves over his hands and snuggled into Leo's side.

“What's wrong?” Leo asked in French.

“I can't do it.”

“What can't you do?”

“Call my parents.”

Leo looked down at him, brow furrowed. “What?”

Logan sighed. “I want to tell them. About us.”

Leo pulled him closer, dipping his nose into Logan's hair. “You don't have to do anything you don't want, d'accord? I haven't said anything to my mama and dad yet, either. That's for after you move in.”

“Je sais,” Logan whispered. “I just- I can't keep it in anymore.” He carded his hands through Leo's hair. “My sisters know, and Finn's family knows, and I can't keep it in any longer.” He pulled Leo down for a kiss. “I want to tell them about you.”

Leo's eyes widened slightly. “Me?”

Logan nodded firmly. “Ouais. They won't be surprised by Finn.” He kissed Leo again. “I want to tell them about you, too. You're so amazing, mon coeur.”

Leo smiled against his mouth. “I like it when you say things like that.”

“Quoi?”

“When you tell us, directly, what you want from us, what you like about us.”

Logan smiled back. “I do like you.”

“I sure hope so.” Leo kissed him once more. “I'm sure it'll be okay, Lo. Your mother already loves me.”

Logan snorted. “All mothers love you.”

Leo shrugged. “It's my disposition.” He nuzzled their noses. “But I know it's scary.”

Reality came crashing back in. Logan bit his lip, staring down at his phone on the hardwood. “It's just…” He looked back up to Leo. “What if they don't love me anymore?”

Leo looked alarmed. “What?”

Tears pressed at the edge of his vision. “They didn't ask for this. And it- it will make their life harder, and I don't want that.”

Leo pulled back to sit up straight, and Logan felt cold. “Their life harder? Sweetheart, it's about you. It's about us, and I- what matters is Finn loves you, and I-”

Logan's heart jolted. They hadn't said that to each other yet.

Leo shook his head. “I'm here for you. I want you, Lo. That's what matters. Are you- are you sure you want to do this?”

Logan sucked in an alarmed breath, meeting Leo's eyes. “Mon coeur, I want you more than anything. And I'm- I'm not ashamed, I'm just…” His voice felt weak. He blinked and tears fell.“I'm scared.”

Leo deflated. “Oh, honey.” He wrapped Logan up close, and Logan let out a sob into his chest. “Sh, sh, it's okay. It's okay, sweetheart, it's- Finn!”

“Yeah?”

“Can you come here, please?”

Finn also appeared from the bedroom, grinning and freshly showered like Logan and Leo and in Logan's high school hockey sweatshirt and boxers. “What's-” His face fell. “Shit.” He hurried over to kneel in front of them and cupped Logan's calves. “Baby, what happened?”

Logan tried to answer, but his voice caught, and he turned to bury his face into Leo's forearm.

That made Finn more alarmed, eyes wide. “Logan, Lo, baby, what's going on?” He looked to Leo. “Peanut?”

Leo's voice was tight as he spoke. “He- he tried to call his maman. To tell his parents about… well…”

“Us?”

“Yeah.”

Finn ran his hands up and down Logan's thighs. Logan peeked out through his eyelashes, expecting some sort of panic or frustration, but all he caught a glimpse of was Finn's soft gaze before he pressed a kiss to Logan's forehead. “Oh, baby. I'm so sorry.” He brushed Logan's hair out of is eyes. “Are you nervous?”

“Ouais,” Logan said hoarsely. He leaned into the touch of Finn's hands. “Ouais, I'm nervous.”

Finn hauled himself up to Logan's other side, an arm thrown over Logan’s torso, gripping Leo's where they criss-crossed. “How about we stay with you when you call them, baby? We're right here.”

“He's right,” Leo agreed. He kissed Logan's head. “We’re always right here, sweetheart.”

Finn dipped to whisper in his ear. “Love you.”

Logan kissed his cheek, then Leo's, and bent to pick up his phone. He unlocked it, still on his mother's contact. Leo gave him an encouraging smile, Finn a small squeeze, and he took a deep breath. His mother picked up on the second ring.

“Salut, mon ange! Ça va?”

“Ouais, maman,” he sighed. “Ça va.” He took a look at Finn. He'd probably be itching to know what they were saying, but Logan needed to speak French if he was going to get through this conversation. He'd tell him after. “I have something to tell you. Is dad there?”

He could imagine his mother's eyebrows, dark and full, furrowed in worry. “Is everything okay?”

“Ouais, it's good news. I hope it's good news.”

“Give me a moment, sweetheart. Marius!” A beat of silence. “It's Logan!” There was some rustling, then her voice sounded far away. “You're on speaker phone.”

“Salut, Lolo,” his dad said. “All good?”

Logan took a deep breath. He reached up to take Leo's hand that was pressed over his heart and squeezed. “I have- I have something to tell you.”

“What is it?” His father's voice sounded worried.

He looked to Finn, who thumbed his damp cheek. “I-I'm seeing someone.” He turned to Leo, who was watching him with soft blue eyes. “Someones.”

“Quoi?” his mother asked. “What do you mean-”

“It’s Finn and Leo. Both. Both of them.”

He heard two sharp inhales, then a soft noise from his dad. “Oh, Logan…”

“Ouais,” Logan said. He was crying again. “I-I'm so sorry, I-”

“Now what would you have to be sorry for?” Iva said. She laughed, and it was teary. “You've been in love with Finn since the first day you met him. And Leo… well, he's so good to you, I adore him.”

Despite it all, that made Logan laugh. “That's what he said.”

He could imagine her smile. “It's true. He's an angel.”

“Ouais, he is.” He bounced his leg nervously. “Papa?”

“Sorry,” his dad said gruffly. “I'm just- I'm so proud of you, mon fil.” His voice made Logan cry all over again. “We love you so much.”

“I love you,” Logan replied.

“Do you love them?”

His father's question made Logan jerk his head up. First, he found Finn's eyes, loving and caring, almost jewel-like. Then he turned to Leo. He and Finn had a plan to tell him they loved him, and while it hadn't been said out loud, Logan already felt it deep within his bones. He may have fallen in love with Finn O'Hara years ago, in a shit-hole Harvard frat house, but he fell in love with Leo Knut the first time Leo had ordered them both sundaes and tea on the road, when they had talked about missing home and Logan, missing Finn like an ache even if he was right in front of him, had for the first time in a while felt a sense of peace, of home, in Leo’s blue eyes. They knew him wholly, completely, without so much as uttering a word, and Logan never felt more seen than when he was in Leo's arms.

“Ouais,” he said to his parents. “I do.”

“Are you happy?”

“Ouais. I'm so happy.”

“Then that's all we could ever ask for,” his father replied.

“Thank you for telling us, sweetheart.”

“Ouais, maman. Thank you for listening.” He took a shaky breath. “And- the team knows, and the girls know, but we're… we're not ready for it to be public yet.”

He could imagine his mother shaking her head gently. “Whenever you're ready, Lolo. We'll be right here for you.”

“We love you,” his father said. “Bonne nuit, mon ange.”

“Bonne nuit.”

Logan ended the call, staring at his phone for a second before bursting into tears.

“Sh, sh, honey, it's okay,” Leo hushed. He cradled Logan to his chest. “It's going to all be okay.”

“Non, non,” Logan said. He sat up, wiping his eyes. “They're okay. They're okay with it.”

Finn's wide grin filled his vision. “That's so great, baby.” He cupped Logan's cheek and kissed him hard. “What'd you tell them?”

Logan sniffled. “That, um. That we are together and that- that the world doesn't know yet, but the team does, and that-” He looked into Finn's eyes. His own welled up again, and he blinked a few tears down his cheeks. “That I'm happy.” He turned and kissed Leo. “We're happy.”

Leo smiled against his lips. “The happiest.”

Logan flopped back against him and opened his arms for Finn to give him a hug. “Can I stay here tonight?”

Finn kissed his cheek. “Of course you can. You're moving in in a few weeks.”

Logan groaned. “But that's so far away.”

“It's the best time for it, sweetheart,” Leo said, pulling Logan slightly into his lap. “We've got two days off after the regular season ends.” He made a raspberry noise against Logan's neck, making Logan giggle. “Plus, we need to give the Dumais kids some time to process.”

Finn whistled lowly under his breath. “Yikes, yeah. We're gonna be public enemy number one after stealing their Frenchie from them.”

Logan hit the back of his head lightly, then pulled him in for a kiss. “Don't talk about my children that way.”

Leo snorted. “They're not yours.”

“Katie is.”

“Well, fine, fine,” Leo sighed. He gave Logan's temple one last kiss before moving to stand. “I'm starving after that run. How about some burritos? I've got some meat, and I can make spicy rice and pico and guac.”

Logan smiled as he shifted over to let Leo out. “Merci, soleil.”

Leo kissed them each on the lips briefly before sauntering into the kitchen, whistling. Logan watched Finn’s eyes follow him. When he turned back to Logan, he smiled widely. “Hi, baby-baby. Feel better?”

Logan nodded, but he remained serious. He brought their faces closer. “I love you.” He played with Finn's hair briefly. “The day I move in I want to tell Leo we love him,” he whispered.

Finn's smile grew so big it scrunched his nose and the corners of his eyes. “Yeah?”

Logan smiled, too. “Ouais.”

Finn wiggled excitedly. “Yay. Yay, yay, yay!” he whisper-shouted. “We can get that cake he likes from down the road, and we can light candles, and I'll put on that jazz record-”

Logan kissed him, unable to direct his eagerness anywhere else. He was flushed with just the thought. “Ouais, yes, yes, yes.”

Finn just laughed and leaned into kiss Logan once more.

End of March, 2019 (this takes place after Ch. 17 of SW)

Lorgan sat down on one of the kitchen barstools heavily with a sigh. He loved team dinners, he loved the Dumais, but he did like coming home to his own space. Or, not his own space but his-and-Finn's-and-Leo's space. An adult space. A home, one that they were making together.

It had been only a few days since moving in, a few days since telling Leo he loved him (We, he could hear Finn's voice say. We told him we love him.), and already he couldn't imagine existing in the same space as anyone else. It was bliss, it was home, it was love and pleasure so heady that Logan almost couldn't contain his joy and neediness. In fact, that seemed like a pretty good idea. Finn was in the shower; Leo was texting his parents, but maybe Logan could drag him away with a few kisses and join Finn underneath the spray, all steamy and glistening, and-

Logan sucked in a breath, already hot at the thought, and went to their bedroom.

He put on a smile, biting his lip in a way he hoped was sexy enough for Leo to want to kiss him (not that it was hard), and leaned against the bedroom door. Leo was sat on the mattress, all tall and nicely dressed from dinner, and looking intently at his phone.

Logan wanted to kiss him so badly. “Le?”

“Hm?” When Leo looked up, his eyes were wet and his face flushed.

Logan stiffened and pushed off the wall. “Merde,” he said. He went to stand in between Leo’s legs and cupped his round face. “Peanut, what's wrong?”

Leo blinked, pulling back to wipe at his face. “Sorry. Sorry, sweetheart, I'm okay.”

“Non,” Logan protested gently. Leo watched him as he walked around to the other side of the bed and crawled over to settle against the pillows by Leo's left side. He sat up, stretched out his arm, and tugged Leo until he fell against his chest. “Mon soleil, can you tell me?”

Leo swung his legs onto the bed to lie down fully, bringing a hand up to hold Logan's bicep. “I watched Sirius’ interview. From the game.”

“Okay,” Logan whispered into his hair. He kissed Leo's temple, letting him collect his thoughts.

“What he said,” Leo continued. “About- about loving the game and finding someone who allowed him to love the game and love outside of the game. About Remus, it- I don't know, it just made me sad.”

Logan made a noise of dissent and squeezed Leo harder. “Why would it make you sad, mon coeur?”

Leo’s breath was shaky. “Because it- because so many people reacted so horribly, and now all he does is answer questions about it. I'm- I'm so proud of them, and so grateful that there are openly gay people in hockey, but it-” Leo's voice turned high pitched, and Logan felt as his body hitched with a sob.

“Mon soleil,” Logan whispered, hugging Leo tightly. “Sh, c'est bien, I've got you.”

“Nobody should have to do that,” Leo cried softly. “I don't want to do that.”

Logan felt his heart break and his body stiffen. He knew Leo wasn't shy about his identity, not in the way Logan was. They were still figuring this dynamic out, the three of them, and had agreed to wait a while, but Logan couldn't help but wonder if Leo would have chosen to have done something differently if he hadn't gotten together with the two of them. If he would have already come out, however subtly.

Finn chose that moment to walk through the door, a towel hanging from his hips. He entered with his usual swagger, but stopped upon seeing Logan and Leo. “Shit,” he said. “Give me two seconds.”

He threw the towel on the floor and rummaged quickly for a pair of boxers, then came to lie beside them on the bed. “What's happening? Leo, what's wrong?”

Leo sniffled, leaning into Finn's hand that was smoothing back his hair. “I watched Sirius’ interview. After the game.” A few more tears fell down his cheek and Finn wiped them away. “I don't like watching him have to defend himself and Remus, or- or just answer questions about it.” He ducked down into Logan's chest. “He's good at hockey. People seem to forget that now, sometimes.”

Finn glanced at Logan with knowing eyes, then looked back down to Leo. “Do you- do you think about that, sweetheart? Having to answer questions about it?”

Leo nodded, his eyes welling up again. “Mmhm.” He snuggled closer in Logan's arms. “I'm not ashamed of who I am. I just wish that it wasn't a given that I'll have to  talk to reporters about it. To defend it.” His lips wobbled a bit. “I'm good at hockey.”

Finn bent his head to press kisses to Leo's cheeks. “You're so good, nutter butter,” he whispered. “And you're so beautiful, and gentle, and kind.” Every descriptor seemed to make Leo cry harder, but Finn just kissed the tears away. “You're so much more than just your sexuality, baby. And you're everything to us. Right, Lo?”

Logan nodded hurriedly, kissing Leo's head repeatedly. “Ouais, mon soleil. We meant it when we said we loved you. You're everything.”

Finn made a noise in agreement. “We love you so much. We talk about it all the time.”

“You do?” Leo asked, almost timid.

Finn kissed him slowly. “Of course we do. And we will only come out whenever we are all ready. And we will do it in such a way that we avoid as much questioning as possible.” He had a fierce glint in his eye. “I will defend you both if I have to, but I will not let anyone tell me loving you is wrong.” He looked between them both. “It is the most right thing that I've ever felt.”

Leo nodded against Logan's chest and Logan held him tighter. It wasn't often that he was the one holding one of his boys like this, and he loved the weight of Leo's body on top of his. He vowed to do it more often.

“I love you,” Leo whispered tearily “I love you so much.”

“Love you,” Logan said, kissing Leo's temple in bursts. “Love you, love you, love you. Now, soleil-” He sat up slightly, jostling Leo a little bit. “-I was going to come in here and ask to go give rouge a sexy surprise in the shower-”

Finn's eyebrows shot up.

Logan rolled his eyes playfully. “-but I think it's best we go to bed.” He tilted Leo's face to the side to kiss him lightly. “Let's take a shower. I want to wash the day off of me, then we can cuddle.”

Leo bit his lip around a small smile. His eyes were still a bit wet, but the tears made his baby blues crystal clear. “I could be persuaded into a sexy surprise.”

Logan felt heat stir in his belly. “Ouais?”

Leo nodded. “Ouais. It makes me all hot when you tell me you love me.” He made to sit up, then turned to Finn and winked. “We'll be right back, sweetheart.”

“Fuck that,’ Finn blurted out. He shot up and scurried around the bed, grasping Leo by the hips and kissing him as he nudged him out through the doorway. “I'm joining.”

Leo laughed in between the wet kisses Finn was pressing to his mouth. “You just- hm, Finn- you just showered, honey.”

“I literally said I don't care. I'll shower after, if you want, too. Just no sexy showering without me.” Finn held out a hand to Logan. “Chop chop, Tremblay, sexy shower time.”

Logan shook his head fondly and flushed, allowing himself to be pulled off the bed, pulled out of their bedroom, pulled out of his clothes, pulled into the steamy shower, and pulled off the edge, in free-fall and forever- forever- in love. This, he thought as his boyfriends’ bodies blanketed his own, their laughs in his ear and their mouths against his skin, was what a home should feel like.

“Sweetheart!” Leo called from their bedroom, holding a towel around his hips. “I’m just gonna get changed, then when Lo’s back we can all go.”

“Wait!”

There was the thunderous thudding of footsteps then Finn was sliding through their bedroom door on his socks, slipping a bit on the hardwood. Leo blinked hard and held out a hand to catch him. “Whoa.”

“Sorry.” He skipped around and jumped dramatically onto the bed, sitting straight-backed on the edge with his hands folded, a goofy smile on his face. “Okay, ready.”

Leo laughed, confused. “What?”

“I said, I’m ready. For you to get changed.”

“Oh, you’re ready, are you?” Leo teased. He dropped his towel and turned around to dig through their underwear drawer. When he got no response, he turned his head to look at Finn again over his shoulder. “Honey?”

“Hm?” Finn’s eyes were very obviously not focused on Leo’s face. “Sorry, what?”

Leo smiled, pulling on a pair of boxers- and ignoring Finn’s sad whine- before going to stand in between his thighs. He cupped his face gently. “I love you.”

Finn’s eyes were the warmest brown, and his smile made Leo feel light. “I love you, too.” He wrapped his arms tightly around Leo’s waist and pressed his face into his chest with a squeeze. “You’re so beautiful.”

Leo made a happy sound and scratched a hand through Finn’s hair. He placed a kiss on the top of his head. “So are you.” He gasped at Finn’s playful bite to the skin right beside his nipple. “Ouch.”

“Mm,” Finn hummed, eyes playful. “I could just eat you up. Can I, please?”

“No time.”

“You sure? We could-”

But he was interrupted by the sound of keys scratching at the door, then the clink of them plopping into a bowl.

“Salut, I’m home!” Logan called.

Finn gasped. “Wait!” He stood and kissed Leo quickly. “Stay right here, don’t move a muscle. I don’t wanna see another piece of clothing on you.”

“Okay?”

“‘Be right back!” Finn sing-songed, then he was sliding back out the door. Leo heard him talking to Logan in the living room. “Hey, baby, you need to change?”

“Ouais, I need to put on something nicer, I-”

“Great! Let’s go.”

A laugh. “Rouge-”

Then Finn was slipping once more through the doorway, Logan in tow and stumbling behind him. They were both laughing. Logan’s posture relaxed when he saw Leo, smile going soft. “Salut.”

“Hi.”

“Oh-kay!” Finn once again jumped dramatically onto the bed, this time sat up against the pillows with his feet crossed. He waved his hand with a flourish, rings catching the light for a moment, and dipped his head. “You may proceed.”

Logan laughed, confused. “Quoi?”

“I said, you may proceed. With the changing of clothes.” He folded his hands in his lap. “I am but a mere spectator.”

Logan looked to Leo, but Leo just shrugged. “I was just told to not put a shirt on.”

Logan laughed. “Well,” he said, looking Leo up and down. “I support that.”

Leo rolled his eyes playfully. “Shut up.”

“Non, non.” Logan stepped into his space. He took his hand and kissed his wedding band and engagement ring, then looked up with content green eyes. “I didn’t get a kiss yet.”

Leo smiled against his mouth and kissed him softly. “Hi.”

“Hi.”

“Hi.” Finn was now twiddling his thumbs. “May we please continue with the undressing?”

Logan tisked. “I thought we were changing.”

“Ugh,” Finn groaned. “Stupid dinner party.”

Logan shook his head fondly, reaching behind himself to pull his shirt off. “The kids are excited, though, they spent the whole day at Sirius’ just talking about the lamb Celeste is cooking.”

“The Dumais are not kids anymore, honey,” Leo pointed out, now searching for his nice pants.

“Yes they are, Knutty,” Logan protested, unbuttoning his shorts. “They’re still kids.”

“Kids in high school. And college.”

“Non.”

A low whistle sounded from the bed, interrupting their movements. “Goddamn. This view never gets old.”

Leo and Logan both turned to look at Finn, who was biting his lip around a grin, warm eyes roving all over their bodies. He looked kind of like a kid on Christmas, Leo thought as he made to step into his pants.

“Wait,” Finn said suddenly. “Wait, not yet.”

Leo clucked his tongue. “Finn, we’ve gotta get dressed. And plus, you’ve seen us naked a thousand times, it’s not like it’s anything new.”

“Actually,” Finn responded, holding a singular finger up. “I see you naked about three times a day, roughly, so that’s way more than a thousand times in a single year. And we’ve been together for, what, how many years? So it’s probably closer to ten thousand by now.” He shifted to the edge of the bed and stood, coming to take the pants from Leo’s hands and put them on the dresser. “But that’s not the point.” He wrapped his arms gently around Leo’s waist. “Baby, I could see you naked a billion times and I would never get enough of you. I just…” He rubbed a hand up and down Leo’s ribs with a smile. “I love your bodies so much.”

Leo felt his cheeks heat. “Oh.”

“Yeah, oh. C’mere,” Finn said, opening an arm for Logan to tuck into his side. “Do you want to know what my favorite part of sex is?”

“Wow, that took a turn,” Leo said drily. “Okay?”

“I love,” Finn started. “The beginning and the end. When I just get to touch you, to hold you. Like, forget the whole, like, giving you pleasure- though I am a big fan of that as you well know. Big fan. Huge.”

Logan laughed into Finn’s jaw, nuzzling his skin with his nose. “Allez.”

Finn let out a sigh and pressed his nose into Logan’s hair, gentle eyes peeking out at Leo. “You could tell me you never wanted to have sex again and I would still, every morning and every night, want to kiss every inch of you.” As if to emphasize his point, he pressed a kiss to Logan’s temple, then one to Leo’s cheek. “I love the way your waists fit in my hands. The way your legs wrap around me. The strong muscles of your chests, the soft warmth of your skin.”

Leo felt his eyes suddenly get a little warm and he blinked hard. An insecure feeling worked its way up his throat. “Finn.”

Finn gripped him harder around the waist. “No, baby, don’t cry.” He kissed a tear that fell down Leo’s cheek, then his lips a few times for good measure. “Sunshine, don’t cry.”

“No, it’s just-” Leo sniffed, reaching up to wipe under his eyes. “Our bodies aren’t always going to look like this.”

“And that’s okay,” Finn whispered, resting their foreheads together. “Baby, that’s okay.” He let out a shaky sigh. “I can’t think of any way your body could look and I wouldn’t love it just as much as I do now.”

“Mon soleil,” Logan whispered. He had turned and was now tucked into Leo’s side, his back at an angle against Finn’s chest.. “You’ll always be so beautiful.”

“Yeah,” Finn agreed. “You both-” His breath hitched, and he smiled. “I’m gonna love you for the rest of our lives. And I will love everything about you, always, no matter what. Okay?”

Leo nodded. He felt more settled with the heat of them against him. “Okay.” He kissed Finn softly, then Logan. “I love you,” he mumbled against Logan’s mouth.

“Je t’aime,” Logan sighed. Leo wrapped an arm around his waist to feel his skin. “Mm, you’re cold.”

Leo smiled. “I always am.”

“Ici.” Logan wiggled himself further in between them to more squarely press himself into Leo’s chest.

Finn scoffed. “Um, excuse me,” he said, leaning down to bite Logan’s shoulder. “This is group cuddle time, not ‘hog Leo’ time.”

“But he’s cold.”

Leo smiled sheepishly over Logan’s head, and Finn narrowed his eyes. “Fine.” He bent to put his mouth by Logan’s ear. “But I’m gonna get you for this Tremblay.”

Leo felt Logan’s grin against his skin. “Yes, please.”

Finn let out a slightly frustrated breath. “We cannot lose track of ourselves here, okay?”

“I didn’t say anything.”

“Uh, yes you did, ten, and it is not helping the situation.”

Leo raised his eyebrows playfully. “What situation?”

Finn looked at him as if it was obvious. “The situation I always find myself in when I see you two naked.”

“Oo,” Leo teased. “Sounds fun.”

“Yes, normally, when I have hours to act on it.” He slapped Logan’s ass. “But we’ve got a party to get to, so chop chop. Unfortunately, clothes must go on.” He took a step back to look them over and let out a heavy breath. “Goddamn. Look at my sexy husbands.”

Leo grinned into Logan’s hair and kissed his head quickly. “Okay. Clothes.”

Logan nodded. “Clothes.”

“Wait!” Finn, for a final time, jumped on the bed with a happy sound. When he was settled again, he kicked his feet excitedly. “Okay, go.”

Leo and Logan just grinned at each other, then pulled on their pants.

out of curiosity why are chickens your fav animal? is there a specific reason or do u just like them? another question… who on the lions do u think would have pet chickens

HAHAHAHA this is actually a really funny ask! I had chickens for YEARS growing up, for meat and eggs, and they were basically my pets (we didn't have a dog at the time). They're actually really complex and fun to learn about, in terms of caring for them. All my chickens had names and distinct personalities, right up until they passed away. I was very fond of them and their silly antics! I don't have them anymore, and I have my dog who I love more than anything or anyone, but my dream is to one day have chickens again!

Edit: I DEFINITELY imagine Leo and Thomas having chickens. And I imagine Kuny having a singular one that he keeps as a house pet and takes on walks, lol.
