Being the experienced chef he is, do you think when leo accidentally burns himself he just barley feels it anymore because today my mother was cooking and fully just touched the pan to see if it was hot enough. Said “ouch. Yup it’s ready.” And proceeded and it made me think of our sunshine🥲🥲.
I am a restaurant worker, so I DEFINITELY relate to Leo. My fingers are so used to touching hot things, just like Leo. It's an acquired skill. Although, Finn and Logan would say that LEO is hot and they touch him, so ayo, I guess they have mad skills, too (shrugs).
Enjoy Chef Knut and his concerned, smitten side kicks/food critics! All credits to @lumosinlove !!
P.S. I am almost done writing all the prompts I've been sent so feel free to send more my way!!
“Baby?” Finn called from their bedroom.
“Yeah?”
“You need any help in there?”
“Nope! You go get Lo, I'll be fine!”
Leo hummed to himself and stirred the pot where the stew was cooking. Lamb, potatoes, leeks, onions, carrots, spices- the smell wafted through the air as he opened the lid to check on it. Satisfied, he grabbed a towel to protect his hands and placed the Dutch oven in the oven. A gasp sounded behind him.
“Baby, careful!”
Leo furrowed his eyebrows at Finn, who was now standing on the other side of the counter in checkered pants and a sweater, eyes wide behind his glasses. Leo knocked the oven door closed with his hip. “What, sweetheart? I'm fine.”
Finn shook his head and came around to join Leo. “Your hands, Le. You're gonna burn them, baby.”
Leo looked at him in confusion as Finn played with his fingers. “No, it's not hot. I’m okay, I used a towel.”
Finn scoffed. “Yeah, a towel. That's thinner than oven mitts.” He brought Leo's hands up to kiss them hard, then looked with pleading eyes. “I don’t want you to get hurt.” He brushed a curl out of Leo's eyes. “I love these hands too much.”
Leo just smiled softly at him. “You're sweet.” He squeezed Finn's fingers and leaned in for a kiss. “But I'm okay, I promise. I don't notice it, sweetheart, I'm used to it.”
Finn narrowed his eyes skeptically but huffed, kissing Leo hard on the mouth. “I'm going to pick up baby from the Rangers hotel.” He kissed Leo's cheek and went to grab his shoes. “Be careful please. No burnt boyfriends- room temperature only.”
Leo laughed and turned back to the counter, where he was working on shaping some bread dough. “I'll try my best, sweetheart. Love you.”
“Love you!” Finn called, then he was out the door.
Leo sighed happily, then went back to his bread.
***
An hour later, the front door opened and Finn and Logan came in with a flurry of laughter and chatter. Finn had Logan's bag in one hand and Logan's own hand In his other, and they both stopped suddenly when they saw Leo, who was back to stirring the stew on the stove as it warmed up again. His bread was staying warm in the oven, ready to come out any minute, and he'd set their counter with plates, utensils, and a few candles. Logan roved his eyes over it with a pleased smile, then unlaced his fingers with Finn's to go to Leo.
“Salut,” he said contentedly, wrapping his arms around Leo's neck and drawing him into a kiss.
“Hi, honey,” Leo replied happily. Logan was kissing him in hard, happy draws of his lips, and he held him there for a moment. When they pulled away, Logan buried his face in Leo's chest, and Leo chuckled. “How are you?”
“Bien,” Logan sighed. “I'm so good.” He pulled away and reached up to scratch at Leo's scalp. “What are you making?”
“Stew and bread, honey. It's done cooking, just reheating the stew and keeping the bread warm in the oven.” He gave Logan another quick kiss and turned to the pot. “Wash your hands, sweethearts, and I'll plate it up.”
While they washed their hands, Leo took the lid off the pot and grabbed their bowls to be filled with soup. He dipped a finger in to test the temperature, hummed satisfactorily, then handed the bowls to each of his boys.
“Looks good, Le,” Finn said.
“Nice and hot, honey, so be careful.”
“Merci, mon amour,” Logan said. He kissed Leo's shoulder as he passed. “Need any help?”
Leo shook his head and kissed Logan's temple. “No, I'll be fine. Just going to cut up the bread.”
He shooed them off to sit at the counter, then opened the oven to take out the loaves. They were warm and had a nice crust, and steamed as he cut into them. He examined the crumb and nodded in approval, slicing some more to place in the basket he had ready with honey butter. He was almost done, ready to sit and eat, when a noise sounded from behind him.
“Leo, fais attention,” Logan said earnestly. “You're going to burn yourself, chérie.
Finn's fork clattered against his plate. “That's what I said!”
Leo laughed and placed the basket in front of them. “Honestly, boys, I don't feel it. It's not that hot.”
Finn narrowed his eyes and reached for a piece of bread, flinching when his fingers made contact. “Ouch!” he gasped, sucking his finger into his mouth. “Le, that's hot, you're crazy.”
“Ouais, and you dipped your finger in the stew to test it, and it's hot, too,” Logan pointed out. “You're going to hurt yourself.”
Leo smiled at them and rolled his eyes playfully. “If you two spent as much time in the kitchen as I do, then you might build up a tolerance to pain as well.” He sighed and walked around the counter, settling on a stool on the other side of Logan. They were both watching him closely. “Besides, I'd rather have hot food and wait for it to cool than have cold food. That's what my mama always said.” He took a spoonful of stew and popped it into his mouth. “Hey, this is good.”
“Ouais, but it's hot,” Logan said.
Leo winked at him. “You’re hot.”
Finn guffawed out a laugh. “He's got a point.” He leaned over and bit Logan's shoulder. “You're hot, and we eat you. Very tasty.”
Logan raised his eyebrows, but Leo could see the blush dusting his cheeks. “You're so weird.” He kissed each of their cheeks. “I love you.”
“Love you,” Leo replied. He felt floaty. “Now, c'mon, eat while it's still hot.” He grinned mischievously at Finn. “Then we can eat Logan.”
Leo laughed at their sudden eagerness to finish their stew and reached for a piece of bread. They both burned their tongues, humming in appreciation anyways, but Leo didn't care if it was the worst stew they'd ever had, or a Michelin star dish. They ate it up eagerly and he watched them with his chin in his palm. He was as warm as the supper in front of them and basked in the sunshine.
Yes, Leo decided, scooping his last spoonful. It was a good stew.
It’s honestly a crime the gender bent cubs didn’t get more engagement I LOVED THEM

Logan leaned into the hand Finn had around her waist, tucked underneath Logan's gray suit jacket to be closer to her skin through her white button-down. A kiss was pressed to the side of her head. “You get yourself another drink, baby?”
Logan nodded and turned to look at Finn. “Ouais. Got you and Le some gin and tonics, too.”
Finn's brown eyes stood out against the green of her jumpsuit. Her jaw length, straightened hair fell in front to cover them, and Logan reached up to tuck it behind her ear. Finn smiled. “Thanks, baby.” She brushed Logan’s dark waves over her shoulder distractedly. “You having a good time?”
“Yeah,” Logan said. She leaned into the hand Finn was using to massage the base of her neck. “Talked with Sirius, mostly.”
Finn laughed lightly. “My little wallflower.” She leaned in closer. Logan had to look up more than normal, because she was in Converse and Finn was in heels that made her so beautiful and tall. “You look so good tonight, Lo.”
Logan blushed. “You've said.”
Finn shook her head. “Then I'll say it again.” She wrapped her arms around Logan's waist and squeezed. “You're so gorgeous.”
Logan leaned up to kiss her. “Toi aussi.”
Finn looked pleased, and Logan stood on her toes to kiss her cheek once more before the bartender came with their drinks.
“Two gin and tonics and a rum and Coke?”
Logan nodded. “Merci.” She handed Finn hers and took her own and Leo's. “Allez, where's Le?”
Finn was already looking, scanning the crowd. “I don't know, I haven't seen her in-” She interrupted herself with a sharp inhale. “Oh. Jesus, we did so good.” She jerked her head. “Look, over there.”
Logan followed Finn's gaze until her eyes landed on Leo, laughing at a standing table with a few people Logan didn't know. She was so good at chatting up a room, much better than Logan was, and she had her present company in stitches. The gala, a joint Boston Fleet and Boston Bruins summer charity event, was a fairly high-brow and certainly fancy opportunity to raise money for keeping the local libraries open and promoting a raise in teacher pay. Leo had been one of the players to spearhead the initiative, and as such was one of the most sought-out people of the night. Logan hadn't seen her in what felt like hours- which was a shame really, considering how good she looked.
Her long, blonde, corkscrew curls were pulled back in a ponytail with a blue ribbon high on her head, save for a few strands, accentuating her sharp jawline and round face. Her dress was a shimmery blue that matched her eyes, the back of it dipping low to show off her lean muscles. She'd done her makeup kind of smoky and with a bit of glitter, accentuating the blue of her irises, and Logan shivered at how striking they were. Her necklace, earrings, bracelets, and rings shone against her skin, golden from the summer sun. The nail in the coffin, however, was the slit on the side of her dress. She was bent over slightly to rest her forearms on the table, and Logan's eyes followed the curve of her breasts down to her torso, slightly softer than Logan and Finn were, down to the swell of her butt, and, finally, to those mile-long, tanned legs peeking out through the fabric. They were all on display, her muscles flexing lightly to balance in her silver heels, making her even more toweringly beautiful than she already was.
“God, just look at her,” Finn repeated dreamily. She was rubbing her hand up and down Logan's ribs again. “Isn't she just the most beautiful thing?”
Logan made a noise of agreement, resting her head against Finn's shoulder. They just stood and watched for a minute, admiring. Leo's white teeth showed every time she laughed, and her button nose scrunched and crinkled the skin around her eyes. She looked so gorgeous, and more important, joyful, that Logan could have stayed there and gazed at her forever.
Until, however, someone approached her.
Logan bristled as a man Leo's height walked up to her, stumbling a bit. He wasn’t one of the players on either team- probably a relative or friend of the owners, and he definitely seemed to be tipsy and looking for a good time. He looked Leo up and down and said something with a sly grin. Leo’s smile was strained and nervous, her back muscles tense as she took a step back. He tried to reach out to her wrist, presumably to compliment her bracelet, but she just took her hand away and began to fiddle with the chain. Logan could feel Finn just as tense beside her, locked and loaded like a gun, and the last straw was when he tried to step into Leo’s space and she held a hand up, talking rapidly.
“Shit,” Finn said. She began walking forward hurriedly. Logan followed.
“I told you,” Leo was saying as they approached. “I'm already taken. I appreciate the compliment, but-”
“Then where is he?” the guy interrupted.
“Right here,” Finn said. She placed an arm possessively around Leo’s waist. Her smile was overly sweet and mocking. “Kindly leave us alone.”
But the guy just cocked an eyebrow at Leo. “And you're sure these aren't just your friends making a show?”
Logan let out a frustrated huff from Leo's other side. She set both drinks down and took Leo's hand in hers and kissed it, glaring at him the whole time. “Fuck off.”
The man narrowed his eyes but walked away. Logan could feel the tension in Leo's body evaporate immediately.
“Jesus,” Finn said. She came to stand in front of the both of them, blocking Leo's view of where the man had walked off to. She placed one had on the small of Leo's back, one on her belly. “Baby, are you okay?”
Leo blinked and let out a breath. “Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine.” She rolled out her neck. “He would just not back off, would he?”
Logan kissed her bicep. “I'm sorry, Le.”
Leo shook her head and turned to look down at her. She was smiling softly. “Don't be sorry, honey.” She wrapped an arm around Logan's waist and pulled their bodies together. “Besides, I've got my own sexy knights to protect me.”
“Mhm,” Finn agreed. She was smiling, too. “We've gotta protect the pretty princess.”
Leo blushed. “Shut up.”
“Non,” Logan said. She stood on her toes and tilted her chin up for a kiss. “The prettiest princess.”
Leo laughed against her mouth and touched their foreheads together, then hers and Finn's. “Thank you. I love you.”
“Anytime, any day, baby,” Finn said. She bit at Leo’s jaw playfully. “Gotta show everyone you're ours.” She took a step back and held onto Leo's hand, looking her up and down a few times. “You look like a fucking model, Jesus Christ.”
Leo laughed sheepishly and looked down to where her breasts sat against her body, larger than Finn and Logan's, and where the bottom of her stomach pushed out against her dress. “I'm not.”
“Oh-ho, you so are.” Finn stepped into her space and flicked the slit of Leo's dress out of the way to hold her thigh up with a firm hand, like a tango dancer. Leo stumbled a bit, but Finn held her knee tight against the waistband of her jumpsuit. “Look at the legs on you. Sexiest legs we've ever seen.”
“Si belle,” Logan agreed. She kissed along Leo's collarbone. “The most beautiful girl in the room.”
Leo made a pleased sound. Her teeth showed as she smiled and ran a hand through Finn's hair. “Could say the same thing about you two.”
Finn's grin was sharp. “Feel free.” She let go of Leo's leg with a pat. She ran a hand up Leo's thigh and butt a few times to settle on her waist. “You sure you're okay, gorgeous? You want to go home?”
Leo shook her head. “No. No, I'm okay.” She reached for her drink and took a big sip. Her eyes flashed somewhere off to the side and she smiled against the rim of her glass. “In fact, I think you should take me dancing.”
“Quoi?” Logan asked. She jerked her head around to look. Sure enough, the dance floor had been cleared for the evening, and there were a few people already dotting the scene as the DJ bounced along to the beat. Logan hadn't noticed the music change from the classical stuff being played since the start of the evening, too wrapped up in Leo.
Finn had noticed, too. “Oh, well in that case.” She took her own glass and then held Logan's out to her. “Grab your drink, Tremblay, our super model has demanded a dance.”
Leo rolled her eyes playfully. “I didn't demand anything. I politely suggested.”
Finn winked at her. “You can demand anything you want from me, night and day, you know that, gorgeous.” She held out her hand to Leo with a little bow of her head. “My sunshine baby.” She nodded to Logan with teasing eyes. “My grumpy lady. Let's get our boogie on, shall we?”
Leo and Logan laughed, Logan placing a hand low on Leo's back as Finn guided them to the dance floor. Once they got there, Logan got to watch as Finn spun Leo around and then held her back to chest, allowing for Leo to reach a hand out for Logan to take. They swayed together, Finn every now and then grinding over exaggeratedly against Leo to make her laugh. Logan had one hand still holding her drink, the other against where Leo's neck met her shoulder. She rubbed her thumb against Leo’s pulse point. Finn was watching them over Leo's shoulder with a pleased smile, singing along to the lyrics of the song. They both looked so good under the colorful lights, their eyes like sparkling jewels. Logan pressed herself closer, resting her chin just above the swell of Leo's breasts.
“I love you!” she shouted over the loud music.
Leo smiled and bent to kiss her, smile playful. “I love you.”
But that wasn't enough for Logan. “I love you!” she said loudly again.
Finn caught on with a wide smile. “I love you!”
“I love you, I love you, I love you. I love you!”
Their voices overlapped as they all said it loudly over one another at the same time, competing until they couldn't anymore and slumped together in a fit of giggles. One of Finn's hands came to stroke Logan's waist, and Logan felt so high and happy she didn't quite know what to do with herself. She settled with resting her cheek against the warm skin of Leo's chest. Leo dropped a kiss onto her head.
“I love you,” she whispered. “I love you, I love you, I love you.”

“Le, did you get the extra cables for tonight?”
“Yup,” Leo said to Cassie, typing quickly on his computer. His political philosophy paper wasn’t going to write itself. “In my backpack.”
“Cool, great. And the extra amp, how are we getting that there?”
“Amanda’s girlfriend is bringing it in her car.”
“‘Kay, cool. Cool, cool, cool.”
Leo grinned, swiveling in his chair and looking at Cassie with raised eyebrows. “You’re stressed.”
“Well, obviously,” she hissed. “This is our biggest gig yet.”
“And you’re sure it has nothing to do with a certain person being there?”
She rolled her eyes, but was blushing. “Percy Marshall has free will. He can come if he wants. I didn’t even invite him, Finn did.”
Leo winced. “Yeah, sorry. He likes to meddle.”
“Yes, he does.” She tapped her pen against her notebook repeatedly. “Also, it doesn’t matter if Percy is there or not. I sing because I like it. And I’m good.”
“So good.”
“Right?”
“Are you asking me, or telling me?”
Cassie groaned, thumping her head on the table. Her blonde waves fell in a curtain around her head. “I don’t know.”
“Well, figure it out. And study for your Calc exam, you don’t want to have to take it again next year.”
“Why the hell does a journalism major have to take math anyways?!”
“Your voice is going high,” Leo pointed out, turning back to his essay.
She narrowed her eyes at him. “I’m stressed.”
“Still, I’d prefer not to lose my hearing at twenty-one. Go, do math, please.”
Cassie kicked his foot gently under the table, but she was smiling.

“How we feeling?”
Leo and Amanda looked up from where they were tuning their guitars to find Layla’s smiling face. She was fiddling with her drumsticks.
“Good,” Leo said. “Almost done. Has Cole tuned his bass yet?”
She rolled her eyes. “No. He’s still drinking his pre-gig tea. And Thomas came backstage to talk, so they’re distracting each other.”
Amanda snorted. “Well, then we might be down a bassist tonight.”
“I’ll go find him,” Layla laughed, then she was walking away, her long twists swishing behind her.
Leo plucked his final string, watching the light on his electric tuner turn green. “‘Kay,” he said. “I’m all set.”
“Me, too.” Amanda unclipped her strap and set her guitar in its stand. “I’m gonna go say goodbye to Aadhya, I’ll be right back!”
Leo made kissing sounds as she jogged to the little back room where their stuff was, laughing when she flipped him off. He hummed to himself as he plucked out a few chords. Even after performing with the band for almost two years, he still got nervous he would forget something on stage. A quick review was necessary. He was just running through their opening number when his eyes were covered by two hands.
“Guess who?”
Leo smiled. “Hi, sweetheart.”
“Hi,” Finn said happily, uncovering his hands and bouncing in front of Leo, Logan following. “How are you?”
“Good,” Leo said, slipping his guitar strap over his head and setting the instrument in its stand.
Logan reached out and thumbed the bottom of Leo’s tank top. “Feel ready?”
Leo smiled. “Yeah. Little nervous.”
“You’ll be so good,” Finn said. He draped his arms loosely around Leo’s shoulders. “There are so many people out there waiting to see you.”
Logan laughed. “Rouge, I don’t think that’s helping.”
“But they’re his fans!” Finn scratched absentmindedly at the back of Leo’s scalp. “We’re your biggest fans, though.”
“I don’t know,” Leo teased with a smile. “My mama might have you beat on that one.”
“I’ll fight her for the honor.”
Leo rolled his eyes playfully. “No you will not,” he chastised gently. “But you will give me a good luck kiss.”
He didn’t even have time before Finn’s smile was kissing his own in happy bursts. “I love you, I love you, good luck, peanut butter sunshine baby.”
Logan was there, too, pressed against their sides. He cupped Leo’s waist with his hand gently and tilted his head up for a kiss of his own. “You’ll be amazing, soleil.” He ran his hand appreciatively up Leo’s arm. “You look very sexy.”
“Yes, very,” Finn agreed. “We’re lucky boys, that’s for sure.”
“Okay,” Leo laughed. “We go on soon, so I need to go.” He kissed them each quickly and squeezed their hands. “I love you.”
“Je t’aime.”
“Love you!”
Leo blew them a kiss as he walked into the backstage room. Thomas was on his way out and held his fist out for Leo to bump. “Kick ass, man.”
Leo slapped his back. “Thanks, Talky.” He closed the door behind Thomas and smiled at his bandmates. “Feeling good?”
Cole nodded. “Feeling good.”
“Good.” Leo went over and sat by Cassie on the couch, throwing an arm over her shoulders. “How are you?”
She sighed, resting her head on Leo’s shoulder. “I’m okay. All warmed up.”
“You’ll be amazing.”
“Mm.” She shifted closer, then looked up at him. “Would your boyfriends be jealous if they saw us right now?”
Leo laughed. “Oh, definitely. Finn’s ears would be bright red, and Logan would be staring at you so hard.” He rested their temples together. “But I won’t tell them.”
“Thanks.” She looked around the room at everyone else watching her carefully. “I’ll be fine, guys, really.”
Layla nodded. “We know. You get on stage and you’re fine, just- I don’t know, I think we’re all a little nervous.”
“Right?” Amanda laughed nervously. “I mean, fuck, this place is huge!”
Cole was staring off into space with wide eyes. “I’m absolutely shitting myself.”
They all looked at each other for a moment, silent, then burst out into laughter. Cassie’s body shook against Leo’s shoulder, and Layla was doubled up over her knees across from him. Amanda and Cole were falling over each other on the other couch. Leo felt the anxiety of the moment slip away a little and he bit his lip around a smile.
“Oh, fuck me, we’re crazy,” Amanda laughed.
Leo felt a buzz in his back pocket, and unwound his arm from Cassie’s shoulders to take out his phone while the others continued laughing around him. His lock screen lit up with a notification. He took a minute to smile at the photo. It was of himself, Logan, and Finn around a campfire from the fall, bundled up in sweatshirts and sweatpants. Logan was sitting sideways on Leo’s lap in a camp chair and Finn had both his arms draped over Leo’s shoulders from behind, pressing their cheeks together and smiling. Leo ran his thumb over it fondly before unlocking his phone and opening up his texts.
Finn had sent him a photo of the stage, and then a photo of Logan flipping him off, a cup held to his mouth. Here’s where we are, sunshine, the text read. Love you x A GAZILLION ur so sexy and talented and hot and pretty and we love you mwah mwah MWAH <33333333333
Leo snorted out loud, shaking his head fondly. <3 you both, you can come backstage after.
Cassie not-so-subtley peeked over his shoulder. “Oo-oo, Leo’s got some admirers!”
He blushed and nudged her. “Shut up.”
“Seriously,” Cole said. “You three are always just like…” He widened his eyes and smiled goofily, fluttering his eyelashes.
“No we are not.”
“Yeah-huh,” Amanda said.
“Fine.” Leo sighed, dropping his head back. He feigned exasperation, but really his stomach was fluttering. “Yes, we’re sickeningly in love, all right?”
Layla snorted. “Yes, you are.” She clapped her hands. “And it’s five-to, so we gotta go.”
They all grabbed their water and walked back to get their instruments. Leo peeked around the wooden panels on the side of the stage that blocked them from the view of the audience as he adjusted his guitar strap.
“You find them?” asked Cole from behind him.
“I’m looking,” Leo said. His eyes scanned the crowd, looking for a shock of red hair or the slope of Logan’s broad back.
“There,” Cole said. “With our other friends.”
Leo followed Cole’s finger to where it was pointing and smiled. Sure enough, there were Finn and Logan, talking with Hannah, a friend of Finn’s from his freshman year, and Sirius, who had bonded with Logan the year before because they were both from Quebec. Finn had a drink in one hand and another secure around Logan’s waist, pulling him flush to his own body. Logan was quiet, as he usually was, and was listening to Finn so closely and intently his nose was almost brushing Finn’s cheek. Finn took notice and kissed him quickly before going back to whatever he had been talking about.
“You see ‘em?” Cole asked.
Leo nodded. “Yeah. I do.”
Cole snorted and slapped his back. “C’mon, lover boy, it’s show time.”
Leo grinned quietly to himself as the lights went up and they followed Cassie out onto the stage.
***
Leo strummed the last chord of their song, With You, letting his sound ring before silencing his guitar with his palm. There was a brief silence, then the crowd was applauding and cheering. Cassie, smiling broadly as always, thanked them with a nod and a laugh as she set her microphone in its stand.
“I’m glad you liked that one,” she said, fiddling with the mic chord. “We do, too.” She flipped her long blonde hair over her shoulder and turned to Leo. Good? she mouthed.
Leo nodded, running the cable connecting his guitar to the amp through his hands to stretch it out.
“Okay,” he heard Cassie say. “I’m going to take a step back for a minute. We’re gonna play a cover for you, one of our favorites, and Mr. Leo Knut here is gonna sing lead for us.” She scrunched her nose teasingly at him. “He’s very good.”
Leo rolled his eyes playfully as they switched spots, Amanda going to pick up her acoustic guitar. Cassie stopped him with a hand on his bicep. “Good?”
Leo nodded with a smile. “Yeah.”
She smiled. “You’ll be great.”
He smiled back, nudging their arms. “Thanks, Cass.” He stepped up to the mic, raising just a bit. “Hey, y’all, how ya doin’?” He winced inwardly- his accent always came out stronger when he was onstage, but people didn’t seem to mind. There was some applause and cheers, and a loud whoop! that Leo would bet all his money on came from Finn. He grinned, squinting against the lights shining on the stage. He fiddled with the neck of his guitar. “Good. Hey, look, we’re gonna do a little cover for you. This song is one of my favorites.”
He flashed his eyes around the crowd until they landed on his boyfriends, the both of them smiling up at him. Logan was slumped back against Finn’s chest, Finn’s arms tight around his waist. Finn winked at him and Leo felt this face warm.
Leo realized he had spaced out for a few seconds and cleared his throat. “Um, so,” he said, strumming once on his instrument. “Yeah, I like this one a lot. Reminds me of some people very dear to me.” He turned to look behind him. “Ready?”
His bandmates nodded, and then they were off.
Leo opened it with the guitar riff, now familiar under his fingers after so many run-throughs. He bobbed his head to the beat and took a deep breath just as Cole and Amanda joined him.
Could you whisper in my ear
The things you wanna feel?
I’d give you anything
To feel it comin’
Do you wake up on your own
And wonder where you are?
You live with all your faults
Leo smiled, eyes flashing to the neck of his guitar as he plucked out the shortened transition riff, feeling the sound of Cassie’s tambourine and Layla’s soft cymbal shake through his chest. He glanced out at the crowd and moved closer to the mic.
I wanna wake up where you are
I won’t say anything at all
So why don’t you slide?
Leo rocked his body faster, grinning at the rhythm of his and Amanda’s strumming.
Yeah, I’m gonna let it slide
The crowd was lively now. Lots of people were swaying and singing along, a few even dancing with their friends or partners. It energized Leo, touched something so deep in his bones he felt like his body was thrumming. He bounced a little as he strummed, closing his eyes as he started the next verse, Cassie’s harmonies mixing with his own voice.
Don’t you love the life you killed?
The priest is on the phone
Your father hit the wall
Your ma’ disowned you
Don’t supposed I’ll ever know
What it means to be a man
It’s something I can’t change
I’ll live around it
I wanna wake up where you are.
I won’t say anything at all.
So why don’t you slide?
Oo, slide
Leo loved this part of the song. The way the strumming picked up, the way it made him feel light and giddy as he sang it. He caught Cassie’s eye and smiled. She was slapping the tambourine on her hands and tapping her toe, her long, golden hair shaking with the movement of her body. Amanda and her were back to back now and laughing; on his other side, Leo could see Cole shaking his head and smiling goofily at Layla in the back.
And I’ll do anything you ever dreamed to be complete
Little pieces of the nothing that fall.
He turned towards the crowd again. He had to find them, quickly, had to catch their eye to sing the next bit, like he always did.
They were already looking back at him when he caught their gazes. Finn was swaying Logan gently and singing along to the lyrics. It reminded Leo of all the times he’d seen lovers at music festivals, hands on each other’s hips, casually touching in a way that said, I’m here. I’m here with you, and I love you.
Leo blushed and looked out at them through his lashes with a grin, holding their gaze as he continued.
Oh, May
Put your arms around me
What you feel is what you are
And what you are is beautiful
Oh, May
Do you wanna get married?
Or run away?
They broke off into a brief instrumental interlude, and Leo broke his gaze to look at his guitar neck, shifting his fingers accordingly. Sometimes, looking at them was too much. Sometimes, he didn’t know what to do when they smiled at him like they had just then, so full of adoration and joy.
The instrumental part was finishing up again and Leo was catching their eyes once more.
And I’ll do anything you ever dreamed to be complete
Little pieces of the nothing that fall
Oh, May
Put your arms around me
What you feel is what you are
And what you are is beautiful
Oh, May
Do you wanna get married?
Or run away?
Leo scrunched his nose at Logan and Finn in a smile, their expressions mimicking his.
I wanna wake up where you are
And I won’t say anything
There was the sound of Layla’s drum fill, and then they were all bouncing. Leo angled his head to Cassie and bopped along with her.
And I’ll do anything you ever dreamed to be complete
Little piece of the nothin’ that fall
And I’ll do anythin’ you ever dreamed to be complete
Little pieces of the nothing that fall
Leo felt his chest heaving as he looked at the other people around the room. They were looking at him, trying to catch his eye, and smiling. But he really didn’t care much about them at that moment, if he was being honest with himself. He moved closer to the mic as the instruments crescendoed and grinned, locking eyes with Finn and Logan’s happy faces one final time.
Yeah, slide between the sheets of all them beds you never knew
Why don’t you slide into my room?
Just slide into my room
Oh, we’ll run away, run away, run away
Leo tore his eyes away only to look at his guitar as he played the closing rift through, his fingers shaking slightly with the adrenaline. He took a deep breath as they all let their instruments ring out a bit. As always, there was silence, then applause. Cassie was beside him in a moment, grabbing his arm and shaking it excitedly.
“You kicked ass!”
Leo rolled his eyes playfully and bumped their foreheads together. “So did you. That one’s always fun.”
She flashed her eyes to the crowd, grin widening, then looked back at Leo. “Your lovers are staring.”
Leo blushed but turned to look. And sure enough, in the crowded room, dark and dusty and probably smelling of sweat and beer, two sets of twinkling eyes were looking at him, smiles so wide almost all their teeth were showing. Logan raised his fingers in a wave and Finn blew him a kiss. Love you.
Leo bit his lip around a smile and let out a quiet, giddy laugh. Love you.
Then he gave Cassie one more pat on the shoulder and went back to his place to finish the set.
***
Leo wiped the sweat off his face with the bottom of his tank top, bristling a bit as some of the saltiness got in his eyes. They all set their instruments in their stands backstage to be put away in a few minutes and hurried to the dressing room. There was a window that Cole immediately threw open, and then Layla was handing them all water bottles from a cooler.
“Drink up,” she said. “Before you go to the bar, please.”
“Thanks,” Leo panted. He cracked it open and downed half in one go, then fell against the couch and placed the cool plastic on his forehead. The condensation was a little uncomfortable, but he was too hot to care. The others were chatting around him, and there was the sound of the door opening and closing as people came and went, fussing with cables and amps. Aadhya slapped his leg in a job well done and he stuck his thumb up.
“Gimme a minute,” he said. “I’ll help.”
“Nope,” she said. “Percy, Thomas, and I have got it. You all just sit for a minute, okay? You’re dehydrated.”
Leo didn’t really have it in himself to protest. “‘Kay. Thanks.”
She nodded and went back to putting away Amanda’s guitars.
Leo closed his eyes once more and let out a deep breath through his mouth. Performing was a joy and an adrenaline boost, but the period after was stressful sometimes. Their bodies and brains were exhausted; a few moments of relaxation and quiet was necessary.
Suddenly, he felt two palms rub the outside of his thighs and a soft voice. “Soleil.”
Leo opened his eyes slowly to meet Logan’s loving green ones. He smiled up at him. “Salut.”
“Salut, chérie.” The French was warm and comforting, like Leo was being wrapped in a blanket. Logan bent to kiss his mouth softly. “You did so well.”
“Merci,” Leo said. He set the water bottle beside him then wrapped his hands around the backs of Logan’s thighs. “Hey, c’mere.” When Logan was seated on his lap, knees digging into the soft cushions around them, Leo leaned up to kiss him a little harder. “Thank you for coming.”
“Oui, of course we did. Finn’s helping put stuff away.” Logan picked up the water bottle and pressed it back to Leo’s forehead. “Es-tu chaud, mon coeur?”
Leo nodded. “Ouais, a little.” He winced as Logan kissed his temple. “Sorry, I’m all sweaty.”
Logan grinned and pressed another soft kiss to his mouth. “Non, I like you sweaty.”
Leo smiled against his mouth and stole another kiss. “I love you. I’m so happy you both are here.”
Logan set the water bottle aside and tenderly cupped Leo’s face in his hands. “We love you so much, peanut.”
They smiled at each other for a moment before a freckled face appeared above Logan’s shoulder. “‘Sup, lovers?” Finn asked, kissing Logan’s cheek then leaning down to peck Leo on the lips. “How are you, baby?”
“Tired,” Leo sighed. “Hot.”
“Yeah you are.” Finn put Leo's guitar case down, flopped beside him on the couch, and threw one arm around his shoulders, his other hand resting on Leo’s thigh. “Hey, I have an idea.”
Leo rested his head on Finn’s shoulder. “Hm?”
“How about we run away and get married?”
Leo tisked and raised his head. Finn’s grin was mischievous, and Leo just rolled his eyes fondly. “Shut up.”
“No, no, let’s go. Right now.” He bent to whisper in Leo’s ear. “And if you’re lucky, we’ll both slide into your room.”
“That’s it,” Leo said, sitting up and moving to stand. “I’m getting new boyfriends.”
“Non,” Logan demanded firmly. He let his weight go heavier on Leo’s lap and laced a hand through his hair possessively. “Non, you’re not.”
“Kidding.” Leo placated Logan with a kiss then fell back into the cushions, slumped down and leaning into Finn’s side. “But I don’t just sing those lyrics to you for no reason, you know.”
“We know, sunshine.” Finn nosed at Leo’s hair and kissed his temple.
“It’s because I love you very much.”
“And we love you, baby.” Finn reached out to play with Logan’s fingers. “But- we are getting married, right? Maybe not the ‘running away’ thing, because my parents and brother would kill me, but… marriage?”
Leo turned to brush their noses together and nodded. “If that’s what you want, then I want it. Lo?”
“Of course I do,” Logan answered. He brought their left hands to his mouth and kissed their ring fingers. He then peeked out through his lashes and winked. “And I’d also like to slide into your bed.”
“Oh my God, this isn’t funny anymore!” Leo exclaimed, bouncing his legs up and down to jostle Logan. He laughed and looked up at him. “I am trying to be romantic, stop being weird about it.”
Logan pressed their smiles together in a slow kiss. “It’s very romantic, mon soleil,” he whispered. “We love it.”
“Yeah, we do, baby. You’re so sweet.” Finn kissed his cheek and bit his jaw. “Sweet enough to eat.”
“Oh-kay, lovebirds!” Cassie sing-songed. Leo looked around Logan’s body to find her standing across the room with Layla, the both of them waggling their eyebrows exaggeratedly. Percy was behind her with her purse, his face flushed nervously. Cassie jerked her head. “C’mon, time to celebrate. We can leave our stuff here.”
“Damn right,” Leo said. “I need a fuckin’ drink.”
“Mm, your accent always sounds stronger when you’re tired,” Finn murmured with a last kiss to his and Logan’s cheeks. He stood and held out his hands. “Let’s go, I’m buying.”
Logan and Leo took his hands and followed him out the door, the rest of Leo’s bandmates and a few of their friends behind them. Finn refused to stop holding their hands, even when passing through the narrow hallway, which made Cole let out a frustrated groan behind them. “Let’s move it! I would like a fruity drink!”
Layla rolled her eyes fondly. “You and your cocktails.”
“Hey, don’t mock me, babe, you always steal them anyways.”
Leo smiled and held Finn’s hand tightly until they got to the bar. Finn rapped his knuckles and put on his most charming smile. “A rum and coke, a dark n’ stormy, and a Jameson neat, please.”
A bartender with a thick braid running down her back smiled at Leo. “You guys were good.”
“Thanks,” he said sheepishly.
“Aw, don’t get so shy, butter baby,” Finn teased. He pinched Leo’s cheeks. “You deserve all the praise.”
Leo looked between him and Logan and leaned in. “Maybe you can slide in my bed and give me some tonight.”
Finn’s eyes darkened. Logan just looked a little dazed. “Promise?”
“Promise.” He kissed each of their stunned mouths quickly and grabbed his drink, smiling. “Now, c’mon, let’s go find a dark corner and make out.”
And with their laughter following him, Leo turned towards the crowd and let himself internalize the moment. The hands on his hips were warm and gentle and he smiled at the stage where he had just been. Maybe, he thought, it wouldn’t be so bad running away and getting married.
Not until he graduated though.
“Love you,” Finn whispered, resting his temple on the back of Leo’s neck.
Leo turned to kiss him, then drew Logan to his chest to kiss him, too. “I love you,” he whispered back. “I love you, I love you, I love you.”
Can we see the cubs being adorable and clingy?(clingy in a good way!!) like after they come out just publicly hanging off of each other and being in their own little world🥹
That night at that one bar, Logan had spent nearly the whole time pressed into Leo’s side just… content. Just at ease. So at ease.- Vaincre Ch. 27, lumosinlove
I read this prompt and IMMEDIATELY thought of this moment in Vaincre. So have my vision of how Tweedle perceived it, along with some implied pining and some O'Hara wisdom.

Luke tapped his fingers along the side of his beer glass. His short nails clinked against it lightly, a soft undertone to the loud music and chatter that surrounded him. He was sat in the middle of the room, a place that he didn’t really like to be normally, but there were no other spots available when he arrived. Next to him, Alex O’Hara and Percy Marshall were playing some sort of card game. Luke didn’t know what it was, but it seemed complex and had been going on when he had sat down. That was over an hour ago.
He stretched his neck, closing his eyes briefly against the feeling. His eyes, when they opened, were staring at the section of the bar where there were high tops. Logan was sat on a stool with a rum and coke in front of him. He looked a bit sleepy and was leaning against someone- Leo, Luke realized.
He observed silently for a moment. Leo was laughing and talking to Will Morgan and his wife, Ray. He was standing, tall, even for a professional hockey player, and his laugh reverberated around the space. Logan pressed closer to him, ducking under Leo’s arm, his own coming to wrap around Leo’s waist. Leo looked down at him with a smile, kissed his forehead, then went back to talking with Will and Ray. Logan didn’t move his gaze from Leo for a second, though, just rested his chin on Leo’s chest to look up at him. Leo gave no obvious indication that he realized Logan was gazing at him, but he did bring his hand up to run a thumb over Logan’s jaw.
Suddenly, as if from thin air, Finn appeared by their sides. He clapped Will’s hand, kissed Ray’s cheek, then went over to his boyfriends. His cheeks and ears were flushed, obviously a bit tipsy, as he bent to kiss Logan’s cheek repeatedly. Logan laughed, scrunching his nose, but he was obviously pleased. Leo looked happy, too, and soft, until Finn leaned over Logan’s head to press those same kisses to his face. Then, he opened up, almost like a flower, curls bouncing with his laughter. Luke got why they called him the sun.
Logan, in between the two of them, just looked happy, content. He had an arm resting on each of their ribs. When Finn pulled away, he started talking to rapidly, a hand on each of them, mindlessly touching. They didn’t seem aware, nor to care, that Will and Ray were still there. They had watched amusedly, but now were talking to Saint, who was at the high top next to them. Luke’s breath caught.
“Ugh, they’re so gross,” Alex scoffed from beside Luke, breaking him from his reverie. “It’s like they don’t even realize it.”
Luke just turned to him, eyebrows raised. “I think Finn’s just a little tipsy, too.”
Percy laughed. “Yeah, he kind of goes crazy when that happens.” The cards in his hands slapped against one another as he shuffled them. “It’s nice, though. It was tough, watching him and Logan in college, sometimes. But they figured their shit out- and Leo is good at keeping them honest, too. He’s good for the both of them.”
Alex nodded solemnly. “Yeah, they really needed him. Need him.” He looked contemplatively at his younger brother. “He makes it all easier, I think.”
Luke furrowed his eyebrows. “What?”
Alex shrugged. “He’s part of them allowing themselves to love each other. By loving him, they are okay loving one another, too.” He looked serious. “And I think- well, Leo makes them being public easier, too. From what Finn’s told me, he was always sure of who he was, what they were, even if they, especially Logan, were nervous. Or afraid.”
Luke nodded, biting his lip as he turned back to look across the bar. Leo was now talking to the both of them. He looked like he was telling a story, the light reflecting off his blonde curls as they bobbed with his head. Logan had his head leaning against Leo’s bicep, tucked in close and safe. Finn, seemingly without knowing once again, had Leo’s hand in his own, pressing soft kisses to the back of it and up his forearm. Leo didn’t even look phased. He smiled at Finn, and nicked his cheekbone with his pointer finger, but didn’t stop telling his story. Finn was nodding rapidly along. He replied to something Leo had said, and it must have been snarky, because Logan turned with a wide grin to contribute. In sync, they both looked at Leo. He just shook his head and rolled his eyes fondly at them.
“Luke?”
Luke jerked, turning to Alex, who was looking at him strangely. “Yeah?”
Alex ran his tongue over his lips. It was brief, but Luke saw his eyes flash over to where they both knew Saint still was. “You okay?”
Luke swallowed. “Mhm.”
Alex looked him up and down. When his eyes met Luke’s, they were the most serious Luke had ever seen them. “Sometimes you can’t make it easier. Here, out in the world. But you can choose to try.”
Luke just stared at him. His body felt hot, and his chest felt a tug, as if a string was pulling on it. Probably pulling it right across the bar to the other high top table.
“Uh, Hazard? Tweedle? The fuck is going on?”
The look in Alex’s eyes vanished as quickly as it had come, and he turned that signature O’Hara grin on Percy. “Nothing, Perseus.” He nudged Luke with his elbow. “Just letting Luke here know that it will hurt for you both to lose, but that you can try not to, anyways.”
Percy narrowed his eyes at Alex’s smile, but sighed. “Fine. Fine, that’s not it, but I’ll let it slide.” He flipped his hat backwards. “Game fucking on.”
Alex turned to look at Luke. His smile was still playful, but his eyes were back to serious. “You dealing in, Tweeds?”
Luke took a deep breath. He glanced to Saint, then to Logan, head against Leo’s shoulder and fingers laced with Finn’s, then to Alex and Percy . “Yeah,” he said softly. “I’m dealing in.”

Logan woke up with a deep inhale, blinking hard in the early morning gray light. He looked around- the table in front of him had textbooks piled on it and scribbled notes. Shit, he thought. He’d fallen asleep.
Come to think of it, he realized, he had fallen asleep on something. He felt a soft sweatshirt under his cheek and a warm chest against his shoulder, a solid thigh touching his own. He breathed in through his nose and inhaled the familiar scent. Finn.
Logan felt almost guilty, turning his head to try and look at him. Soft, freckled skin filled his vision. Finn had one freckle right on his lip, pale brown against rosy pink. His mouth was parted, breathing softly, and Logan, involuntarily, tilted into it. He wondered what would happen if he just-
The front door clicked open and closed. Logan paused abruptly, tilting his head and listening. He gently eased his head off of Finn’s shoulder, guiding Finn back to lean against the couch cushions, before standing up and rubbing his face.
Percy came into the living room, Silver on his heels. He was giving her treats to keep her quiet. He stopped when he saw Logan. “Oh, you’re awake,” he whispered.
Logan nodded blearily. “Ouais. Ouais, I’m awake.”
“Fall asleep studying?”
“Ouais.”
“Must have been real tired. You didn’t move when I took Silver out. Got a picture, too.”
Alarm bells went of in Logan’s brain at the same time as warmth filled his chest. “What?”
But Percy was distracted heading to the kitchen to give an increasingly impatient Silver her breakfast. “Yeah, I’ll send it to you. Now where the fuck-” There was some opening of cabinets and then a sigh. “Shit, Silver, girl. Forgot to get your food. Guess you’ll be getting eggs and chicken for breakfast, huh?”
Silver tippy-tapped happily at the word ‘chicken’. She wagged her tail when Logan came to scratch behind her ears. “Salut, petite.” Logan glanced once more towards the couch where he could see the top of Finn’s bright red hair. Not for the first time, he imagined what it’d be like to run his fingers through it to coax him into waking up. He bit his lip hard and turned towards the counter. “I’m going to make coffee. Want some?”
“Fucking please, this silly girl got me up at four thirty.” Percy knelt down to let Silver lick all over his face. “Yes you did, you silly, silly girl!”
Logan sneaked one more peak at the top of Finn’s head, then measured out the coffee grounds.
***
Logan blinked awake to a dark living room, save for the little sliver of moonlight shining through the open window. He and Finn must have fallen asleep and left it open. He took a deep breath in the cool evening air and shivered.
Finn’s head was heavy against his shoulder, slumped awkwardly from his place beside him on the couch. Their evening had been filled with restless waiting for Leo to get back from his day out with Cole and Regulus. Finally, after a sternly loving text from Leo telling them to make themselves busy and stop sending what started out as dirty messages, but then turned into pleas for him to come home and snuggle, Logan and Finn had sat down determined to sufficiently distract themselves until the arrival of their sunshine. Finn had picked up his latest romance novel, letting out a gasp every now and then, while Logan had taken to drawing in one of the adult coloring books Leo had gotten him for Valentine’s Day. Based on said book still open in his lap, he’d been working on a geometrically-designed frog before he and Finn had fallen asleep.
Logan shifted slightly to work out a kink in his neck. His movement made Finn’s head start to fall further, and Logan quickly wrapped his arms around his shoulders to hold him comfortably. His weight was dead in Logan’s arms, but warm, and Logan took a moment to appreciate his features: soft, wavy hair pushed back from his face; his beautiful jaw that Logan loved to trace with his thumb; that freckle on his lip that younger Logan, in a similar predicament, had at one point wanted to kiss so badly he thought he would go insane. He could do so now, and he leaned down to press his lips gently to that spot, light as a feather. Finn didn’t even stir. Logan loved the weight of him in his arms.
Suddenly, the apartment door opened and closed quietly. Logan sighed softly as keys clinked in the bowl by the door. He turned his head to gaze at Leo, who was trying to sneakily take off his shoes and jacket. When Leo looked up at him, he smiled. Hi, he mouthed. Logan bit his lip and jerked his head.
Leo padded over, standing in front of them with his arms crossed against the chilly wind. He leaned down to kiss Logan quickly at first, before Logan cupped the back of his head and reeled him in for more. Leo smiled against his mouth. “Brr,” he whispered.
Logan laughed breathily. “Ouais.”
Leo pressed his lips quickly to Logan’s forehead before going to close the window. When he came back, he knelt against the plush carpet of their living room and moved the coloring book onto the coffee table. He took Logan’s hand. “Good day?” he whispered.
Logan nodded. “Ouais. Missed you.”
Leo’s eyebrows shot up. “I’m aware.”
Logan bit his lip around his flushing face. “Désolé.”
Leo just kissed the back of his fingers and used his other hand to push Finn’s hair back from his forehead. His eyes looked icy in the moonlight, but not cold. Never cold. “Harzy, sweetheart. Let’s get ready for bed, honey.”
Finn let out a soft noise before breathing deeply. Logan watched as his eyes blinked open slowly, like a deer, and as he smiled. “Le.”
Leo laughed. “Hi, baby.”
Finn let out another noise, extending an arm to pull Leo up and into him. He rested his face in the crook of Leo’s neck and pressed a kiss to the golden skin. “Missed you.”
Leo pressed his smile into Finn’s hair. “Missed you, too.” When they pulled away, he gave Finn a quick kiss before leaning back on his heels. “Did you eat dinner?”
Finn and Logan looked guiltily at each other before Finn buried his face to hide in Logan’s chest. “No,” he said, voice muffled by the fabric.
Logan pulled him tighter against him before reaching out with one hand to play with Leo’s curls. “We were waiting for you to get back.”
Leo looked unimpressed and amused. “For me to cook for you?”
“Non, because we missed you. We forgot to eat.” He pinched Leo’s cheek. “We can cook egg sandwiches, you taught us.”
Leo licked his lips and rolled his eyes fondly. “I did.” He stood. “But you haven’t eaten still, I’ll make you some sandwiches. Then we can go to bed.”
“Non,” Logan said. He grabbed onto Leo’s shirt and tugged. “Non, Le, sit, I’ll do it. Come be Fish’s pillow.”
“Yes, please come be Fish’s pillow.”
Leo considered this for a second. He sighed. “If you’re sure.”
“Of course, Le, you don’t have to feed us all the time. Sit, mon amour.”
“Le, come cuddle.”
Finn’s pout made Leo laugh. “Okay, okay, I’ll come cuddle.”
Logan kissed Finn’s cheek and stood, making room for Leo on the couch. He guided Leo by the hips to sit down, Finn immediately flopping onto Leo’s chest with a grunt. Leo smiled up at Logan as he ran a hair through Finn’s hair. “Thank you.”
“Ouais, mon coeur.” Logan kissed him. “Relax for me, d’accord? I’ll be back soon.”
Logan took a moment, to look at Finn and Leo, brown and blue eyes gazing up at him lovingly. A part of him that he knew would never be silenced tugged sharply at his chest. He’d almost not let himself have this, he thought, this beautiful, blissful life. He let out a soft noise and kissed each of their foreheads. “I love you.”
“Love you,” they repeated back to him soflty, Finn settling himself further against Leo’s chest. They each let out a sigh and closed their eyes.
Logan ran a palm against each of their cheeks briefly before standing and going to the kitchen. He heard Leo and Finn talking to each other softly behind him as he cracked eggs in a bowl and put some sourdough in the toaster. A laugh from Leo made him turn his head briefly. He saw the side profile of Leo’s smile, the shifting of Finn’s head that meant he was talking a mile a minute. Logan almost got choked up. He turned back to the butter that was heating up in the pan. Better focus and get the sandwiches made. The sooner they were done, the sooner he would be back in their arms. He smiled and poured the eggs in.

“Leo, Leo, come on!”
Leo smiled up at Katie, who was waiting for him patiently on the stairway leading up to the second floor bedrooms. “I’m coming, hun.” He turned to Finn, dressed up as a very handsome prince, if he did say so himself, and gave him a kiss on the nose. “Be right back.”
“‘Kay,” Finn said, patting his hip. “Tell Katie thanks a lot for stealing my sunshine from me and forcing him to do matching costumes with her this year.”
“It’s not just with me, it’s with Layla, too,” Leo laughed, kissing him again. “I love you.”
Finn brushed his blonde hair out of his eyes. “Love you.” He gave Leo’s butt a hard tap. “Go get changed.”
Leo sent him a wink over his shoulder and followed Katie up to her bedroom, where Layla was also waiting. Finn watched him for a moment before he felt a hand come around his waist. “Salut.”
He smiled widely. “Hey.” He turned to face Logan, cupping his face excitedly and pressing kisses to his lips. “How’s my sexy knight?”
Logan laughed against his mouth. “Good.”
Finn made another happy sound and kissed Logan’s cheek. “Thank you for driving up, baby. Sorry it’s not a long visit.”
“Non, it’s okay, I like the Halloween parties.” He rested his forehead against Finn’s shoulder and looked up the stairway. “Like it better when we can all match.”
“Right?” Finn tugged on the cape of Logan’s costume to bring their bodies closer. “Silly Katie stealing our sunshine.” He raised his eyebrows teasingly. “If anything, I would have thought she would steal you from us, not Leo.”
Logan pouted. “Me, too.”
Finn kissed him again with a smile. “C’mon. We have to mingle and stuff while we wait for Le or else we’re just gonna be sad and standing here.”
“But he’s so far.”
Finn just smiled against Logan’s temple and guided him into the kitchen.
An eternity later, but what was really probably only twenty minutes, there were footfalls coming down the staircase. Finn had his arms around Logan’s shoulders, laughing and talking with Thomas and Cole, when Cole suddenly stopped trailed off. His eyes widened. “Holy shit.”
Thomas nudged him playfully and made an oo sound.
Cole just shoved him back. “Shut up.” But he was smiling as he made his way towards Layla. “You look gorgeous,” he said, hands coming down to cup her waist. She did look pretty stunning, Finn thought, in her pirate get-up.
“Thank you,” she said with a proud smile. “Just wait until you see Leo and Katie.”
Finn felt Logan perk up against his chest, his hands coming up to grip Finn’s forearms excitedly. Finn bent down to whisper by his ear. “Calm down.”
“I’m excited.”
“Me, too, just- breathe for a second, baby, you’re getting all worked up.”
Logan flashed dark eyes at him. “What if I want to?”
Finn just rolled his eyes playfully and kissed his cheek. When he pulled away, he was met with crystal blue eyes that were-
“Whoa,” Finn said, a little breathless. “Huh.”
Leo smiled, then turned down to look at Katie. “You think they like our costumes?”
She nodded assuredly. “Yep! I’m gonna go show maman.” Then she was bouncing off her toes and stealing Layla from Cole, presumably going to look for Celeste. The extra fabric of her bandana flapped behind her as she ran to the living room.
Leo turned back to Finn and Logan, spinning around with his hands splayed out. “So? What do you think? Layla sewed some of this, can you believe that?”
But Finn wasn’t paying attention to the clothes, though they did look nice. He instead straightened, Logan shifting to press against just his side, and reached out to rub a thumb under Leo’s eye. “Huh,” he said again. “What…?”
Leo blushed. “Katie insisted. She wanted my eyes to look like Jack Sparrow’s, but Layla took a little more creative freedom than that. Said silver would look good with the blue.”
“She was right.” Finn leaned in a little to look closer at the silver around Leo’s eyes. It made his blue irises look piercing. He could feel heat working its way down his lower back. “Jesus.”
Leo bit his lip in amusement. “Your ears are red.” He looked at Logan and laughed, reaching out to brush the back of his fingers over his cheeks. “Oh, honey.”
Finn looked down at Logan, too, who was partially hiding his face in Finn’s shoulder, green eyes dark and wanting, a flush blooming on the high of his cheeks. The look he was giving Leo was so devastating that Finn had to have a serious mental talk with his body.
“Si beau,” Logan whispered. He reached a hand out and Leo came willingly, allowing Logan, too, to press his thumb to the delicate skin under his eye. Logan let out a groan. “Soleil.”
“You’re okay,” Leo whispered, leaning down to kiss Logan softly. “All okay, sweetheart.”
“Non, je t’aime, let’s go, let’s leave.”
Leo barked out a laugh, straightening. “Absolutely not. I did not get all dressed up for a party to then immediately leave. I haven’t even had a drink yet.”
“Sunshine, I’ll buy you any drink you want if we leave right now,” Finn said. “In fact, I’ll literally lick it off your body, or you can lick it off mine, or Logan’s, I just- come on.”
Leo looked amused at Finn’s tone, which had become a little high at the end of his ramble. “Baby,” he said lowly, which was not helping Finn nor Logan whatsoever. He held up two fingers with a mischievous grin. “Two hours. Long enough to be polite, late enough to justify leaving, and early enough to go back home and have hot sex for as long as you want.”
Both Finn and Logan took a sharp breath in at Leo’s forwardness. Logan’s hands were busy fiddling with Leo’s costume. “Soleil.”
Leo just winked, kissed them both, and turned towards the living room. “I am going to find my other pirates. I love you.” Then he and his crystal clear blue eyes were walking away and leaving Finn and Logan desperate in the entryway.
Logan groaned, bumping his head against Finn’s shoulder. “Oh no.”
“I agree, oh no.” Finn wrapped an arm around his shoulders. “Oh, we are so done for.”
“Ouais. He looks so fucking good, I can’t-” Logan cut himself off with another groan and looked up at Finn pleadingly. “Finn.”
Finn ran a hand over his own face. “Okay,” he said. “Okay, game plan.” He counted off on his fingers. “We set a timer, two hours exactly. No later. We make nice and polite chit-chat with all of our friends that we love very dearly to distract ourselves.” He pressed their foreheads together and lowered his voice. “Then when the timer goes off on my watch, we get Leo, drag him and his sexy blue eyes out of here, and I reasonably break the speed limit to get us in bed and get him naked as fast as possible.”
“Not completely naked,” Logan said with a smile. “Not with that eyeliner.”
“Oh, for sure, not completely naked. That stuff is staying on, and I am asking Layla where she got it.”
Logan laughed, then kissed Finn slowly. “D’accord. D’accord, let’s do this.” He let out a heavy sigh. “This will be the longest two hours of our lives.”
“Oh for sure,” Finn agreed, pulling back to fiddle with his watch. “And the timer starts… now.” He straightened and held out his hand for Logan to take. “Now, my knight in shining armor, please escort me to the kitchen. Those ribs smell delicious, and we need lots of sustenance for tonight.” He craned his head and caught sight of golden curls. “And I see our pirate bombshell in there waiting for us. We might not leave for two hours, but that doesn’t mean we’re staying far away from him the whole time. Gotta have our eyes on the prize.”
“Ouais,” Logan said with one of his secret little smiles. He squeezed Finn’s fingers. “Allez, mon prince, let’s get you some sustenance.”
And with a tug of his hand, Finn followed Logan into the kitchen and to the warmth of their sunshine.
If you don't know how to do a life skill, like cooking, then you should learn so your partner can have a break. At least, that's what Logan and Finn did. And they're getting there, in time. Leo just loves that they try for him, in all their honest, loving chaos. :)
Enjoy our Lovernut getting a little break and being treated with some high-end breakfast for dinner!! All credits to @lumosinlove !!
“Oi,” Finn said. “Watch it with the whisk, Tremblay.”
“Non, you watch it,” Logan retorted. “I need space, allez.”
“There is no more space, and I’m the one with the butter you need, anyways.”
Logan grumbled in French, but pressed a kiss to Finn’s shoulder and moved out of the way.
Leo smiled from his spot on the couch. It was mid-October, the air crisp and cool for the start of his second season as a Lion. They had had a light morning practice and were sent home with instructions for an ‘active rest day’ before their crazy schedule the following week; Logan and Finn had surprised him, insisting that they could make a ‘nice homemade meal, sunshine’ and he could have a day off. The sentiment was nice, Leo thought, but the execution was- questionable.
“Can I please come see what you’re doing?” he called.
“No!” came Finn’s voice. “Sit there and look gorgeous, please. We’ll be done soon.”
“Seriously,” Leo said, making a move to get up. “It’s alright, I can help you-”
“Non,” Logan said. He jogged around the counter and into the living room, sitting heavily down in Leo’s lap. Leo fell back onto the couch with an oof and gripped Logan’s hips. “Non, now you can’t move.”
Leo raised his eyebrows. “You do realize I could just pick you-”
But Logan interrupted him with a hard kiss. “Distract.”
“Wait, that’s not fair,” Finn whined. “I can’t even watch.”
“Better hurry up then, Harz,” Logan retorted. He was leaning in to Leo once more.
Finn huffed, but Leo heard him turn back to whatever he was doing in the kitchen. Logan kissed Leo slowly and sloppily with his hands in Leo’s hair. Leo melted back into the couch cushions and sighed against Logan's mouth. He couldn't remember the last time they'd done this- kissed languidly, no pressure, no running around to games. Leo ran his hands up Logan’s warm back and held him gently. He pressed his hands lower, directing Logan’s body towards him, and felt Logan relax and fall forward just a bit. Logan sighed and pulled away slowly. His eyes were closed and his face was relaxed, his body going slightly limp in Leo’s arms. Leo coaxed him to rest his head on his shoulder, tucked against one another like two puzzle pieces. Logan’s breath was hot on Leo’s neck and his hands gentle in Leo’s hair.
“Aw, I like this,” came Finn’s voice from behind them. He came around into Leo’s field of vision and lean down to run a hand up and down Logan’s back and place a kiss to his cheek. “Hello, lovers.”
Leo smiled. “You’ve got to stop calling us that, or people are going to get some weird ideas about our relationship.”
Finn grinned back and kissed his forehead. “Let them. They’re just jealous ‘cause I’ve got two gorgeous boys to cuddle when we go to sleep.”
Leo let out a satisfied sound and closed his eyes when Logan scratched his fingers through his scalp. Logan was still heavy in his lap but leaned his head back to kiss at Finn’s jaw gently. “Salut, rouge.”
“Hi baby,” Finn said, gazing at Logan adoringly. “You hungry?”
“Ouais,” Logan replied. He leaned back and stretched his arms above his hands, and Leo placed his hands on Logan’s ribs. It made Logan smile and squint at him through his stretch. “Soleil?”
“Yeah, I’m hungry,” Leo said. He patted Logan’s thighs. “Time to see what catastrophe awaits me in my kitchen.”
“Our kitchen,” Finn said.
Leo laughed and reached a hand up to brush through Finn’s hair. “You might help pay for it, but how much do you actually use it, sweetheart?”
Finn scoffed but kissed his palm. “You ungrateful little peanut.” But he tugged at Leo’s hand insistently. “Up, let’s go. Don’t want it to get cold.”
Logan stood up with a grunt and Finn pulled Leo up from the couch with a short kiss. He ushered Leo onto a stool by the counter beside Logan, then scurried around to grab some plates. Leo furrowed his eyebrows with an amused expression. “Egg sandwiches?”
Finn scoffed. “Not just any egg sandwiches, lovernut. These egg sandwiches are special.”
“Oh?” Leo asked with a smile. “Do tell.”
“First,” Finn said, counting on his fingers. “Logan and I found the nice eggs from the farm stand that you like.”
“Ouais,” Logan nodded, resting his head on Leo’s shoulder. “Ms. Adeline says hi.”
“Right,” Finn continued. “So, fresh eggs. Scrambled with water and butter, so they’re fluffy, of course. Next, we’ve got tomatoes, arugula, and bacon. And everything is on a fresh bagel from the bakery down the street.”
“And,” Logan said. “Yours has that nice hot sauce that you brought from New Orleans.”
“Yup,” Finn agreed. Then his eyes lit up. “Oh! And we roasted and seasoned potatoes, like you taught us, Le.” He surveyed his handy work before looking up at Leo. “Good?”
But Leo was already smiling, so hard his cheeks hurt. “Thank you.” He laughed and turned to kiss Logan’s cheek hard, then reached across the counter to cup Finn’s face and kiss him, too. “Thank you. I love you. I love you so much.”
He could feel Logan’s grin against his shoulder and watched Finn’s from across him, his teeth flashing white against his freckled face. He looked pleased. “Well,” he said, his eyes flashing to Logan. “We love you, too. You always take care of us so good, and we just- wanted to return the favor, let’s say.”
“D’accord,” Logan said. He nudged Leo’s cheek with his nose. “Essayez-le.”
Leo picked up the sandwich and took a bite, then speared a potato and popped one into his mouth. He hummed, his eyes crinkling, and swallowed. “It’s good. It’s really good, thank you, sweethearts.”
“You hear that, Lo?” Finn jested. “Finally got something Knu-pproved.”
Leo rolled his eyes. “It’s not gonna catch on, Fish.”
Finn shrugged and took a bite of his own sandwich. “You don’t know that.” He nodded his head with wide eyes and turned to Logan. “You know, we didn’t do a bad job.”
“Non,” Logan agreed. He dove in for some more of his own sandwich. “It’s actually pretty good.”
Leo snorted. “Should I be concerned about the surprise in your voices?”
“Sh,” Logan hushed, but he was smiling. He kissed Leo’s shoulder. “Eat your sandwich, soleil.

Hot chocolate had always reminded Logan of Christmases in Canada. They would go down to Sherbrooke to visit his father’s family for a few days and go snowboarding, sometimes skating on the nearby lakes and ponds if the ice was thick. There were copious amounts of chocolate shops in the towns there, serving the drink fresh-made. Logan always asked for a milk chocolate base, minimal milk, to reap as much sweet flavor as possible, and extra whipped cream. He and his sisters would usually go back for seconds, and maybe leave with a few truffles as well. His cousins never had quite the sweet tooth they did, but would entertain them nonetheless, waiting patiently for them all wrapped up in their winter gear. When he was younger, he would have considered it the best hot chocolate he’d ever had, a self-proclaimed connoisseur.
Leo’s recipe, though, took hot chocolate to a whole new level.
Finn closed his eyes as he took a sip out of his own mug, his glasses fogging up briefly. “Hot damn, Leonardo, this might be your best cup yet.”
Leo smiled from where he was ladeling into his own cup, all soft-featured and delighted in their kitchen light. Instrumental Christmas music played lowly from the speakers, adding to the ambience that made him look, in Logan’s opinion, like an angel. “Thanks, Harz. I bought some chocolate from the new chocolatier by the bookstore, it’s nice stuff.”
Finn scoffed. “This is not just nice stuff.” He took a big gulp. “This is real nice stuff.” He looked at Leo over the rim of his mug. “And you’re real hot stuff.” Finn paused to look over at Logan, giving him a once-over before he winked and smirked. “So are you.”
Logan rolled his eyes, but reached to grip Finn’s hair. “Shut up.”
“Oh-ho, you wanna make me?”
Logan just blushed and gave Finn’s head one last tug, which only made him smile wider as he brought his cup to his mouth once again.
“Lo, you want some more?”
Logan looked up at Leo, standing expectantly by the stove. “Ouais, it was so good, Le. Merci.”
He got up to bring his mug over, but Leo just shook his head. “No, no, sit, I’ll get it for you, sweetheart.”
Logan just grinned at the kiss Leo placed to his forehead, wrapping his blanket tighter around his shoulders. They were all cozy, freshly showered from an afternoon run and in sweatshirts and sweatpants. Logan had arrived the night before from New York for the Christmas break, and had no plans to move anywhere. Except maybe to their bed. Or to the kitchen, if Leo bribed him with food, which seemed likely considering the sheer amount of spices he had bought to make homemade gingerbread and molasses cookies tomorrow.
Leo came back into the room, his and Logan’s mugs in his large hands, and placed them down on the coasters on their living room table. “Any room for me on the couch, Tremblay?”
Logan grinned up at him. “Ouais, ici.”
Leo made to sit down beside him, but Logan shook his head.
“Non, ici.”
He stood up briefly, the blanket pooling around his body, and looked down behind him, and then up at Leo again.
“Oh, I see how it is,” Leo said, smiling. “We get to be your personal couch cushions for Christmas, huh?”
Logan couldn’t even find it in himself to be sheepish. He just gestured again with his eyes to the couch, and Leo complied, shaking his head but blushing all the same. He really did look so pretty when he blushed.
Finn tsked from the other end of the couch. “You are still such a baby, ten. So, so spoiled, even in your adulthood.” He sighed. “What’re we gonna do with you, huh?”
Logan just squished his cheek back into Leo’s shoulder to look over from his place on Leo’s lap. Finn looked so gorgeous, red hair long and wavy and his eyes big and brown. Most importantly, he was looking at them and smiling softly. “Ici.”
Finn snorted, but scooched over, throwing his legs horizontally over Logan’s thighs and leaning his shoulder into the cushion beside him. “You’re so lucky I love you so much,” he said drily.
Logan just hummed and wiggled a bit. “Pass me my cocoa, please? And Leo’s?”
“Bossy, bossy,” Finn said, handing Leo his mug first, then Logan’s to him with a bow of his head. “My liege.”
That made Leo snort, jostling Logan’s cocoa dangerously. He took a sip, letting the thickness of it settle on his tongue. Leo had added homemade whipped cream, too, and a touch of cinnamon and peppermint. It was sweet, spicy, and tasted like home. “Je suis content.”
Leo kissed the back of his head. “Oui, sweetheart, me, too.”
Finn kicked at them lightly. “Translation, pretty please?”
Leo leaned his head back to look at him, smiling in his soft, gentle way. “Just happy, Harz.”
Finn’s face softened. “Oh. Yeah, me too.” He reached out to play with Leo’s hair. “Love you.”
Leo kissed his palm. “Love you.”
Logan leaned his head back to rest on Leo’s shoulder. “Mes amours.” He sighed, then smiled smugly. “My favorite couch cushions.”
They laughed, which made Logan smile wider. When the cocoa was all gone, Leo put his arm out and Finn shifted to lay against his side, nose resting on Logan’s shoulder. With the music through the speakers, the string lights around their apartment, and Leo’s cocoa on his tongue, Logan felt more content than he had in months. With a sigh, he snuggled himself into their warm bodies, and let his eyes close.
Finally, he could get some rest

“Okay, Marc, Louis, Adele! Can you come help Katie with the beach stuff, please?”
Finn looked up through the bedroom doorway at the sound of Leo’s voice. He tied the string of his shorts and ran his fingers through his hair before walking curiously towards the kitchen. It sounded like Leo needed help.
It was still a trip to see Leo and Logan in his family’s Hampton’s house, even after three years together. The walls, once filled just with photographs of Finn’s childhood here, held some new memories, too: one of Kasey, Alex, and Natalie on the back deck; one of Leo, Logan, and Haley with cocktails in their hands; one of Finn and Leo building a sand castle, Logan asleep on the towel beside them. Finn smiled at the last one as he made his way down the hall.
“Louis and Marc, may you please take the boogie boards to the back and hose them down? Girls, can you go put the chairs and the umbrellas in the garage?”
Finn shook his head fondly at Leo, who was unloading grocery bags in the kitchen with Logan. He had sunglasses around his neck on a lanyard and his cap was a bit askew. He and Logan both looked tan from their day out. They’d gone to a different beach in the car today so the Dumais kids could catch bigger waves on their boogie boards, and so Leo could go to the farmer’s market and the butcher’s that he loved to pick things up for their dinner. It was a hustle, loading and unloading all of the gear into the Celeste’s minivan that she’d lent them, but Leo was nothing if not a natural delegator, and he had those kids doing their own tasks faster than Logan and Finn could even think. Finn gave Louis and Marc a fist bump each as they passed through to go wash off the boogie boards before he went to stand across the counter from his boyfriends.
“You need any help, lovers?”
“No, thank you,” Leo said. He didn’t even look around, too busy unloading some vegetables. Logan looked back to Finn and rolled his eyes with a fond smile.
Finn grinned back. “You sure?”
“Yes, honey, don’t you worry. I’ve got the kids cleaning up and then I’ll start on dinner.”
“You know, soleil,” Logan said, slipping Leo’s sunglasses over his head and placing them on the counter. He pressed a hand to Leo’s hip and nuzzled his cheek with his nose. “I think you can compete with Celeste for best mom voice.”
Leo scoffed. “Y’all should have heard my mama when I was little. I learned from the best, that’s for sure.”
“Yikes,” Finn teased. “Those Dumais kids don’t know what’s coming for them.”
Leo let out an exasperated sigh. “Honey, I’m not that bad. They made the mess, they can help clean it up.”
Logan kissed Leo’s cheek in bursts. “Ouais, but I seem to remember someone building sand castles and going boogie boarding with the kids. Maybe they should go help clean the mess.” At Leo’s raised eyebrows, Logan drew him in with a laugh, his arms around Leo’s neck and lips pressing more kisses to his face. “Non, désolé, mon soleil, désolé, I’m joking.”
“Mm,” Leo said, accepting Logan’s soft kiss and pulling his lip with his teeth. He was smiling, though, when they broke apart. “You’re lucky you’re handsome.”
Logan’s grin was the pleased kind that Finn associated with him being content. It came out more often now, especially since they were on summer break, but Finn knew he’d never get tired of seeing it, not in a million lifetimes.
“Hey,” he said. “C’mere, ten.”
Logan complied, coming to stand across the counter from Finn. “Quoi?”
Finn shook his head. “Nothing. Just like seeing you smile.” He took Logan’s hand and kissed his fingers, then tilted his head to look at Leo’s lean back. “Sunshine.”
“Yes, sweetheart, just a moment. Want to get this chicken out and marinating.”
“Just quickly, baby, please?”
“Okay.” When he turned around, the small crease in between his eyebrows faded, replaced with his dimples appearing on his cheeks as he smiled. “Hi, sorry, I’m distracted. You both look handsome.”
“You, too, baby.” Finn reached for his hand, too, and kissed his way up his forearm. He bit at the sun-kissed skin. “Fuck, you’re both so tan. Drives me crazy.”
Logan stroked his nose. “And you are burnt.”
Finn let out a frustrated groan against Leo’s skin. “I don’t know how this always happens. I reapplied sunscreen and everything, I promise!”
Leo leaned his long torso over the counter and kissed Finn’s forehead. “Our own little tomato. Speaking of which…” He turned around to take up a paper bag, a cutting board, and a knife. “Gotta chop these for the fattoush. Oh, and the meat! Meat first, okay…”
Logan sighed and pressed his lips to Leo’s shoulder. “You’ll call us if you need help, please, d’accord?”
“Yes, I promise.” Leo set down his knife to cup Logan’s face and kiss him. “I promise, I swear. I think I’m okay for now, though, just a lot of chopping.”
“D’accord.” Logan kissed him once more and then settled back on his heels. “We’ll make sure everyone gets showered and clothes get washed.”
“Yes, please do. Make sure Katie washes her hair, she was laying in the sand a lot while the others made her into a mermaid.”
“D’accord,” Logan laughed. He walked around and rested a hand on Finn’s lower back. “Help us get stuff put away, then we make drinks and set the table?”
Finn kissed him. “You got it, babe.” He patted Logan’s butt. “Let’s get this party started.”
***
“Dinner and dessert were really good, Leo, thank you,” Adele said as she folded her napkin and set it on her empty plate.
Leo smiled around his last bite of cobbler. “You’re welcome, hun, glad you liked it.”
Finn stretched and rested his arm around Leo’s shoulders, kissing the side of his head. “It was great, sunshine.”
He looked around the patio table. Across from him, against the backdrop of the beach, sat Katie and Logan, Katie trying to teach him to make an origami swan out of some of the spare napkins they’d set out. Marc was on her other side with his cheek resting on his palm. He had droopy eyes and his head lolled a little on Louis’ shoulder before jerking awake.
Finn nudged his foot under the table and smiled. “You tired?”
Marc shook his head quickly. “Non, no I’m not, I swear.”
Logan looked at him with a teasing grin. “I think it’s bedtime.”
“No! I swear, I’m awake! I also don’t have a bedtime anymore, Tremzy.”
Louis scoffed beside him. “You go to sleep at nine, don’t lie.”
Marc nudged him back, and there was a brief scuffle before Adele cleared her throat loudly at them. “Boys, come on.”
They rolled their eyes but complied, giving each other one last nudge before settling down. Finn could feel Leo’s light laugh reverberate against his own body. “How about we clean the kitchen, ouais? Then we can go to bed, gotta get up early to go hike to that beach y’all wanted to go to.”
Leo made to get up, but Logan reached across and patted his hand. “Non, soleil, you cooked. The kids and I will clean up, you and Finn stay here.”
Louis narrowed his eyes. “Are we going to have to wash dishes after you again? Because mom used to make me do it when you left them still dirty.”
Finn and Leo laughed loudly at Logan’s flushed face. He narrowed his eyes and said something in French to Louis, which just made him grin wider. He shrugged and began to clear the table with his siblings.
As Logan passed, he bent down to whisper in Finn’s ear. “Keep him distracted, ouais? He did so much today.”
Finn kissed him lightly. “You got it, ten.”
“You’re not as quiet as you think you are.”
Logan just smiled at Leo and kissed him, too. “Je t’aime.” Then he was walking through the door and talking in loud French with the Dumais children.
Leo let out a sigh and rested his head on Finn’s shoulder. “Today was a good day.”
Finn kissed his curls, golden from all the time they’d spent at the beach. “You’re good with them.”
“They’re good kids. I like hanging out with them.”
Finn smiled. “I’m glad.” He lowered his mouth to talk lowly in Leo’s ear. “But Le, you’ve gotta let yourself rest.”
A sigh. “Finn…”
“No, Le, I’m not- I’m not criticizing you.” Finn wrapped him up tighter. “You’ve just spent a lot of time organizing and doing things for other people on this trip, and Lo and I don’t want you to burn yourself out, baby. That’s all.”
Leo sighed again. “I know. I know, I’m sorry.”
“Nope, no, none of that.” Finn nudged Leo’s forehead with his nose until he looked him in the eye. They were a tired blue, and Finn brushed his hair out of the way to see them a bit more clearly. “Don’t apologize, Le, baby, it’s okay. Just rest with me for a bit, alright?”
Leo nodded and leaned into Finn’s hands. “I’m-”
“-not sorry.” Finn kissed him softly and grinned. “Lean on me, sweetheart.” When Leo did, the both of them looking out at the beach, Finn let out a content sigh. “I love you.”
Leo kissed his shoulder and closed his eyes. “I love you, too.”
Finn settled back in his chair to admire the dying sun. The evening breeze was cool on the coast, even with a bit of light still lingering. Finn loved the way it brushed gently across his burnt cheeks and cooled the skin. He breathed in deeply. He’d always loved the smell of the beach: the salt, the sand, the lingering scent of seaweed. The waves splashed gently against the shore, reflecting the orange and pink colors of the sky. The sunset had glowed against Logan at dinner, making him look ethereal almost, like a figment out of Finn’s dream. It did the same to Leo now, his blond eyelashes, brushing against the highs of his cheeks, shining with a faint golden tinge. Finn kissed just below them on the slightly purple skin. “You’re beautiful.”
Leo smiled and opened his eyes. At a stronger gust of wind, he shivered and cuddled closer to Finn. “Brr.”
Finn laughed and squeezed him tighter. “Cold baby?”
“A little,” Leo whispered. He pulled the hood of his sweatshirt over his head and peeked out at Finn. “You’re warm.”
“Mm.” Finn kissed his nose. “Not as warm as our space heater.”
That made Leo let out a satisfied noise. He slouched down a bit to rest his head on Finn’s upper chest. “I wonder how he’s doing in there.”
“Hopefully not forcing Louis to wash dishes twice.”
Leo laughed. “I wouldn’t put it past him.”
They settled into a comfortable silence for a few minutes to watch the sunset. Finn remembered the first time he took Logan here and they’d done a similar thing, albeit physically farther apart. They’d spent the whole day at the beach and came back from their evening run to Ramsey making steak tips at the grill. Logan had been so happy and calm, calmer than he had been in a long time. Finn had known something was bothering him, even if he hadn’t known exactly what it was. He suspected it had something to do with the want that had been making its way through both of their bodies and hearts, made even worse by the way that, at the Hampton’s house, it had been so easy to imagine a life together: a vacation with Finn’s family, spending the entire day just enjoying one another’s company, having the exact same routine and not getting tired or wanting to separate for even a second. Finn counted himself lucky that he knew what that was like now. That he got it, doubled. Because every run he took with Logan he also took with Leo; every night after brushing his teeth there were two toothbrushes in the cup with his own; and every time he went to bed there were two pairs of arms to hold him, two sets of eyes to fall into. It gave a whole new meaning to this house, even. He got to introduce it to more people that loved it, that loved the time they spent there. For every childhood memory he had, in every room, he now had multiple new ones that were even more lovely.
Finn held one of those memories in his arms now, all sweet and gorgeous in the golden hour. He ran a palm up and down Leo’s forearm. “Feeling better, baby?”
Leo nodded. “Yeah. Thank you.” He played with the strings of his sweatshirt. “I don’t think I knew how much I needed a break.”
Finn breathed in to reply, but was interrupted by a voice coming from the doorway. “Leo?”
Leo sat himself up to turn and look at the kids, who were standing all together with Logan behind them. He smiled then looked at Katie, who’d spoken. “Hi, hun. What’s up?”
She didn’t reply right away, just walked up to give him a hug. “Thank you for hanging out with us today.”
“And for dinner,” Louis added.
“It was delicious.”
“You should give maman the recipe for the meat.”
Leo barked out a laugh. “I’ll text it to her, Marc.” He gave Katie a last gentle squeeze. “You going to bed?”
She nodded with a yawn as she removed her arms from around Leo’s neck. “Ouais. Gotta be up for the hike tomorrow, like you said.”
“I did say that, didn’t I?” He turned his body fully to smile at the others. Logan was looking at him fondly, an arm flung over Louis’ shoulder. Leo tilted his head in that way he did when he was calm and content. “Night, kids.”
They said their goodnights to Finn and Leo, then each gave Logan a fistbump as they went to ascend the stairs to their rooms. Logan watched them fondly for a second before walking over. He looked a little tired, but happy, as he leaned over to kiss their foreheads. “Ça va?”
“All good, baby,” Finn said softly. “Just keeping Leo relaxed and warm.”
“Mm.” Logan brushed a hand through Leo’s hair. “Cold, soleil?”
“A little chilly, yeah.”
“Allez, ici.”
When Logan started to pull Leo’s chair out, Leo stabilized himself with a surprised laugh. “What-”
“D’accord.” Logan, with enough space in between Leo’s chair and the table, came to straddle Leo’s lap and wrap him in a hug. Finn placed a hand on his back, as warm as ever, admiring the way Logan pressed kisses all over Leo’s face. With a last one to his nose, Logan cupped his cheeks in his palms and touched their foreheads. “Better?”
Leo’s eyes were fond. “Much.” He wrapped his arms completely around Logan’s waist and settled his face in his neck. He looked like a cute little turtle, all hunched in his sweatshirt and his curls fanning out of his hood. “Mm, you’re toasty.”
Logan sent Finn a smile. “Good.” He leaned back to squish Leo’s cheeks. “Feeling relaxed, mon coeur?” Leo nodded. “Ouais,” he said with a yawn. “I needed a break.”
Finn kissed his shoulder. “Let’s go shower and go to bed, baby.” He waggled his eyebrows. “Gotta get up nice and early for the hike tomorrow.”
Leo’s face went red and he rolled his eyes. “God, I sound like my mama.”
“We’ll make sure to tell her,” Finn teased, laughing at Leo’s tisking sound.
Logan placed a smiling kiss on each of their cheeks. “Bed?”
“Oo-ways,” Finn said. He stood and offered a hand to each of them. “C’mon, shower and snug, doctor’s orders.”
Leo snorted. “What doctor?”
“Doctor Heartthrob O’Hara,” Finn answered, giving Leo’s hand a playful tug. He patted Logan’s butt. “Let’s go, time to get naked and wet.”
“Sh,” Logan shushed, but he was smiling. “The kids.”
“Are fine, promise. They probably didn’t hear.”
Logan pinched his side playfully. “Allez, I’m not explaining to Dumo and Celeste that we traumatized their kids. Let’s go.”
Finn brought Leo’s hand up to his mouth kiss it as they followed Logan to the downstairs main bedroom. “All relaxed, sunshine?”
“So relaxed.” Leo wrapped his arms around Finn’s waist from behind. “And ready to snug. And get naked and wet.”
Finn bit his lip around a grin. “Doctor’s orders. Gotta follow ‘em.”
“Ouais,” Logan said as they got to the bathroom door. He pulled his shirt over his head. Finn and Leo weren’t shy about staring at his muscles, and Logan looked between them proudly. “Clothes off, allez.”
“Yup, I’m so relaxed.” Leo stepped back and pulled his shirt over his head, too. Finn followed the long lines of his torso before looking back up and into his mischievous expression. Leo looked at him expectantly. “Well?”
Finn nodded. “Oh boy.” He clumsily reached behind himself to pull his shirt off. When his head was out of the fabric, he got a nice view of Leo and Logan stripping down to their underwear. He sucked in a breath. “Oh boy, you’re beautiful. Got me some tan Greek gods or some shit, holy smokes.”
Leo came up to take his hands. The purple skin was still there, a little puffy, but his eyes were as playful as ever, as well as his smile. “I love you.”
“Love you more.” Finn kissed him, then laced their fingers and turned around. Logan was watching them with a fond smile, and Finn laced their fingers, too. “Shower time?”
Logan shook his head fondly. “I think you mean ‘wet and naked’ time.”
“Potato, po-tah-to. I just can’t wait to feel up your abs.”
Logan rolled his eyes but squeezed his hand and let them into the ensuite. “Allez. We have to shower and go to bed. Gotta be up early for the hike.”
“That’s so not funny anymore.”
Logan just turned on the showerhead and took up their exfoliating cloth. He looked at Finn first with his gorgeous eyes, then at Leo. “Allez, soleil,” he said. His smile and Leo’s skin warmed Finn through. “Let me wash your back.”

As someone who has had multiple concussions, I really do feel for Finn. Poor baby Bambi!
I don't think I have it in me to write pure angst. HOWEVER, I made a compromise. Have some Harvard-era concussion angst with a healthy helping of LeLo softness and Finn being a silly, sleep-talking concussed goose.

“Ayo, Tremz! Why don’t you bring some of this up to Bambi? He’s probably hungry, and he hasn’t been downstairs all day.”
Logan looked up from his own taco to see Percy holding up a plate with three of them on it, laden with pico and guacamole and cheese, just the way Finn liked it. He was holding it out expectantly, and Logan furrowed his eyebrows. “Quoi? Why me?”
Percy rolled his eyes. “Because you’re the only one who actually gets any information out of him or anything. He’s been faking it or something for the rest of us, I don’t know.” His eyes glanced to Will, who was hovering nearby with a plate of his own. “Would you- would you mind just checking on him?”
Logan nodded and finished off his last taco with a large bite. “Ouais,” he said. He took the plate from Percy. “Merci, Perce.”
Percy nodded. Will’s eyes looked between them in that gentle, careful way that they did. He and Percy shared a look before Will took a deep breath and turned to Logan. “Tell him we said hi, okay? We’re a little worried.”
Logan sighed. “Ouais, me too.” He turned towards the stairs. “I’ll be right back.”
He tried to control his breathing as he ascended, the plate shaking slightly in his hands. It wasn’t good, he thought, that every time he entered their room it felt like he would crawl out of his skin. It hurt looking across at Finn’s back in the dim light, all hunched in on himself. In the months he’d known him, Finn was never quiet. He was loud and bubbly, friendly to a fault, and now… now he looked defeated, Logan thought. And even worse, in the midst of the overwhelming emotions surfacing, Logan hadn’t been able to resist him. He’d spent too much time in Finn’s bed, holding him, reassuring him- too much time, even for best friends. And Finn was his best friend, but he was also- everything. Finn was everything, and Logan didn’t know what to do about that.
He knocked quietly on their bedroom door on the second landing, and upon not hearing an answer, gently opened it. The blackout curtains were drawn, and Finn was in his bed, eyes closed, and earplugs in his ears. Logan had seen teammates with concussions, had been there when his older sister, Sydney, had gotten one when she was in high school, but this- this was bad. It had only been a few days since their game against Yale, but it was really, really bad. Finn slept most of the time and any little light or noise drained him. Logan could see that, even in the peacefulness of their bedroom, the tendons in his neck were straining. There was still a rumbling sound of the music coming from their team dinner downstairs, and Logan hoped that Finn couldn’t hear it.
Logan took a deep breath, and crossed the room. He set the plate down on the table beside Finn’s bed and placed a hand gently on his back. “Harzy,” he whispered. “Harzy, wake up. Percy made you food.” Finn shifted, but he didn’t wake up. Logan tried again. “Harz. Fish, Finn.” His voice was a little bit firmer, a little bit more desperate. “I’ve brought you dinner.”
Finn rolled slightly and his eyes, warm brown and tired, opened slowly. “Lo.”
Logan smiled. “How are you? I have tacos.” Finn just made a grunting noise and closed his eyes once again. Logan knelt down and pushed his hair back from his forehead. He was warm. “Shit, Fish. What’s wrong?”
“Lo,” Finn whispered. It was high pitched and sad, and he looked like he was going to cry. “Lo, it hurts.”
“What hurts?” Logan asked hurriedly. “Finn, what hurts?”
“My head,” Finn replied. He was breathing a little sharply and in tearful huffs. “Logan, the bass, it really hurts, and I miss everyone, and-”
“Sh, sh, it’s okay,” Logan hushed. He stood up. “I’ll go tell them to turn it down, it’s okay-”
“No,” Finn protested. He reached out his hand to grab at Logan’s wrist. “No, stay.”
“Finn, you’re hurting, it’s gonna-”
“Please.” Finn’s voice was going to break Logan, and he couldn’t look away. “Stay, please you-” His eyelids fluttered and he squeezed Logan’s wrist. “You make it better.”
Logan felt all his resolve fade out. “Okay. Okay, but you have to put on my noise cancelling headphones over your earplugs, oui?”
Finn nodded. “Okay.”
Logan reached for them where they were lying on his bed and helped adjust the pillows so Finn could sit up. He bent down to put them on Finn’s head, and let himself run a hand down the back of Finn’s hair as he pulled away. “C’est bien?” he asked, looking at Finn’s face so he could read his lips.
Finn nodded. “Yeah. Yeah, stay.”
“Finn, I really don’t-”
But Finn didn’t hear, or wasn’t listening, or both. He moved over in his bed and patted beside him. Logan sighed and climbed in, pulling the covers over both of their bodies. He adjusted himself so Finn could lean back against his chest. Finn settled against him and Logan ducked to press his nose gently into his hair. He wondered if Finn could feel how hard his heart was beating in his chest. Logan could only hope that none of the boys would knock on the door- he hardly knew what to do with himself, let alone what to tell them.
Logan lifted one of the headphones off and away from Finn’s ear. “Fish?”
“Mm.”
“Ten minutes, then you need to eat, d’accord? And I’ll ask them to turn off the music.”
“Twenty.”
“Non, Harz, you’ll feel even-”
“Fifteen.” Finn let out a deep breath. “Just- just stay, for fifteen minutes. Please?”
Logan sighed. He leaned his head back against the wall in defeat. “Ouais,” he whispered. “Ouais.”
Fifteen minutes later, as Logan scooted out from behind Finn and handed him his plate of tacos, he didn’t have the heart to look back and see Finn’s eyes watching him. He opened the door once again, and went down to ask Percy to turn down the music

Logan woke up in the early morning light with a view of Finn’s face across from his. He was sleeping peacefully, turned into Leo’s right side, with his sling holding his arm protectively. Above him, Leo was slightly propped up against the pillows, his perfect cupid’s bow lips parted slightly with his breathing. He had one arm gently around Finn’s waist and the other around Logan’s shoulders, pulling them close to him. Logan was surprised that none of them had moved during sleep.
It was strange, not waking up in the middle. Normally, Logan preferred to wake up surrounded: Leo all along his back with his arms tightly around his waist, Finn tucking him under his chin. But he also really did like to wake up and look at both of his boys at the same time, all peaceful and soft, unsuspecting of his loving gaze. He glanced up at Leo; their talk the night before had resolved their issues and eased Logan’s anxiety, but he still couldn’t help but feel a little guilty. His and Finn’s conversation from the previous afternoon ran through his mind.
I maybe got a little protective… that first night.
From Leo?
Logan took a shaky breath and turned his nose into Leo’s chest. As if sensing he was awake, Leo stirred slightly. His eyes, when they opened, were a gorgeous, bright blue. They’d always been striking to Logan, from the day they’d met all those months ago. Even now they still managed to take Logan’s breath away in a second, and he’d do anything to keep Leo looking at him in that gentle, careful way he did. They saw right through him, every thought on his face on intimate display. He almost couldn’t bear it, and propped himself up on an elbow to lean over and kiss Leo carefully. When they pulled away, Logan touched their heads together softly. “Je t’aime. Je t’aime, I love you more than anything.”
Leo smiled against his mouth. “I love you. Hi.”
“Salut,” Logan whispered, then kissed him again. He settled his face into Leo’s neck. “Missed you.”
“I miss you always, sweetheart,” Leo replied. The words made Logan’s heart tug gently. Leo pressed a kiss to his hair and rested his head on top of Logan’s. “How’s our boy?”
Logan turned his head to lay against Leo’s shoulder so he could look down at Finn, who was still sleeping against Leo’s chest. “C’est bien. I think. Didn’t hear him talking any more.”
That made Leo laugh softly. “No, neither did I. That was really funny, though.”
Leo sounded so happy and content and looked so beautiful that Logan had to turn and kiss him some more. They stayed like that for a while, Leo holding him tightly around his shoulders, their mouths pressing together softly, until a small gasp made Logan look down.
“Whoa,” Finn said. His voice was groggy with sleep, but his eyes were bright as he watched them. He smiled. “Nice.”
Leo’s nose scrunched around his grin. “How are the boats, honey? Did you make it before they left the harbor?”
Logan laughed at Finn’s confused look. “Huh?”
“Ouais,” Logan said. He scooted down to lay his head beside Finn’s and kiss his cheek. “Did they take your money?”
“Uh,” Finn started. “I- I don’t know? What are you talking about?”
Leo ran a palm up and down Logan’s side. “You don’t even stop talking when your sleepy and concussed. That has to be a super power.”
Finn blinked hard. “Did I talk in my sleep?”
“Uh huh,” Leo answered. “Something about boats and money.”
“I- I don’t even know what to say about that,” Finn said. He shifted closer to Logan. “I’m just happy both of my boys are back with me.”
Logan reached over to brush his hair off of his forehead. “Ouais. Ouais, me, too.”
Finn looked at him carefully with his tired eyes. “Did you talk?”
Logan nodded. He pushed his face further into Leo’s chest and felt Leo drop a kiss onto his forehead. “Ouais. We did.” He pressed his mouth against Leo’s ribs through his shirt. “C’est bien.”
“Good,” Finn whispered. “That’s good.” His eyes were droopy, and he yawned. “Stay. Stay for fifteen minutes.”
“Twenty.”
Logan and Finn both turned their heads to look up at the sound of Leo’s voice. Logan felt his mouth part into a smile, and saw Finn’s do the same. He remembered, then.
Leo for his part, looked confused. “What?”
“Nothing,” Logan said. He tilted his head up for a kiss and snuggled back down next to Finn, their heads sharing Leo's chest as a pillow. He tangled his legs with Leo’s and let out a long sigh. “Twenty minutes sounds perfect."
