This is one of the many reasons why you are the best.
Warnings and Information: Intended audience is 13+ (18 if you squint). This one gets a li'l spicy if you know how to read between the lines; also both angsty and fluffy. Should know the drill on my use of Mando'a, italics and my headcanons by now if you’ve been following along with the AU series this far. Star Wars and real-world swearing. Implied use of One Bed Trope in regards to how and where Hunter slept. Body worship (centered for Hunter; Hunter’s body worship for Reader is a touch more… poetic so it is easy to apply to all sorts of fem-coded Readers 🩷). Consent and boundaries are sexy, folks!
Along with more vague references to Med!Reader’s past, which are up to the imagination of you the reader, there’s mention of Hunter’s war service, both canon and fictionalized just for the purpose of the fic. Brief and vague allusions to the experimentation of all members of CF99 at the hands of the Kaminoans and the “really bad mission” Omega mentioned that Tech knew more details of but it’s kept vague so it’s not explicit and gory [I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea even for the age rating]. References to Hunter’s nightmares about Plan 99 and a strong implication of a *panic attack. Medic!Reader shows off a little more of why she’d be nicknamed a JOAT-med by helping Hunter through it in a healthy way; we don’t diminish feelings here.
Stuff starts getting more lighthearted after Wrecker pulls the third verbal “sorry, wrong comms!” moment of the series. Domestic!Clones content kicking off, be still my heart~

“Good morning…” The husky croak of the sergeant’s morning-voice found itself unexpectedly in the shell of the woman’s ear in the morning, both tangled up with the other so comfortably it felt deliberate. Nothing about right now suggested that hesitancy to scooch up beside her on the mattress so she could tend to that headache Hunter developed last night. How, this time, he’d been the one to fall asleep under her hands. His head, free of the bandana he’d tied too tight, settled on the tops of her thighs, his curled brown hair spilling freely across her lap as she’d massaged his head.
“Mmm… Morning, handsome.”
Handsome indeed… and she thought him resting on his stomach, resting his eyes for just a little… a minute more, mesh'la on the comfortable nest of bedding and pillows on the mattress top last night was something. (The unconscious way he’d found and swaddled the medic’s Tooka doll named in memory of her first pet when she was still awake was nothing short of adorable, for certain.)

They pulled out the stops with this image, and it's not good.
We are shown Omega sitting in wide-eyed innocence in her little room on the ship. She is unarmed, with a doll on her lap and a ball nearby, propped up on the cushioning Wrecker installed for her comfort. This is her safe and happy life on the Marauder, and it is very likely the opposite of what the writers have planned for her.
If you think those dark circles under Hunter's eyes are bad now, just imagine how he will look once the Empire has Omega.
I have a guess for the last two episodes of the season. I think taking Omega will be the last straw in The Bad Batch's relative passivity toward engaging the Empire, and EVERYONE will be part of the mission to get her back. Getting to "The Summit" of Mount Tantiss to rescue her (and possibly Nala Se) might just be the "Plan 99" we are all wondering about.
Time to go for the golden star wars rule:
If we dont see a corpse, they aint dead
Okay I've had some time to digest the new episode
SPOILERS FOR S2E12 UNDER THE CUT
Okay SO
Oh my God, the amount of emotions we get from Crosshair this episode is literally INSANE
The hesitation that Crosshair shows at the clone asking for his name speaks volumes. Impeccable story telling right there
The way he just says "they're gone" when Mayday asks about CF99 killed me a little inside
The way that he immediately goes to rescue Mayday after the avalanche is PEAK clone loyalty. Crosshair bonded with Mayday immediately and did everything he could to save his new friend. After the dead weight conversation too.
At the end when he shot that bitch ass lieutenant I was so scared it was gonna end on a cliffhanger of us not knowing if Crosshair was going to die or not but that final scene was absolutely terrifying.
All in all, absolutely AMAZING episode. I am in awe of it, I'm sure there are things that I'm missing but holy shit im still so worked up over it
And finally, theories going forward:
I think that Dr Hemlock and Lama Su are going to use Crosshair as bait to get the batch to come to them. And they will. They aren't going to make the same mistake twice of leaving their brother behind but its going to play right into the empires hands
Nala Se is going to sacrifice herself to free Omega and the batch. But that's just a theory A GAME THE-
I am dying this episode gave me a little bit of life

Shaak Ti, chuckling softly and patting him on the head: they’re adorable aren’t they?
Nala Se, remembering the time toddler Crosshair bit her a few years back: yeah mhm I agree haha
