the longer i work in corporate america, the more i feel l like an old guy who's been working at the company for 30 years and doesn't give a shit anymore. yes i'm about to retire and yes i'm going to reply to your email with an ok with a period and no exclamation marks. get fucked.

last weeks of spring semester: energy drinks, coffee on top of that, two hours of sleep, doing a whole semester's worth of work in one night, two exams in one morning, sunny afternoons, chilly mornings and evenings, counting the days until the summer break

my finals are over!! my first year of graduate school finished... I didn't take any pictures during the week while studying besides this one at the library haha. also i found a professor to start research with over the summer, the first assignment is to help with a supernova Ia literature search :D
the neurodivergent experience:
20% of the time: wowwieee!!! i love my passions and interests!!!!! they make me so happy i want to jump up and down!!!!! weee!!!!!!! :3333333333
80% of the time: this mind is a prison
you ask a student in april how they're doing and they'll say "oh i'm fine" but in reality they are treating themselves in such a way that violates the geneva convention on treatment of prisoners
life has been very crazy and so not productive these past couple of weeks. i hit an all time high for burnout this year so I took some time off work *intending* to be productive and do school but I just ended up resting and reading most of the time with some school mixed in.
i've also started a new non-fiction book, adopted a cat, and started tae kwon do classes again. i used to do it when i was younger and got my first degree black belt when i was 14 :) it's somewhat healing my inner child but anything to get out of the house these days.

treating myself to a productive morning at a bougie coffeeshop. most weekends i just study in my dorm until the library opens, but getting off campus is a welcome disruption. just a couple more weeks left in the term, something which is both reassuring and terrifying.
in other news, my petition to graduate early was approved yesterday, so i'm officially 1 year away from finishing my degree!

listening to Muse: Live at Rome Olympic Stadium. apparently the vibe rn is 2006 on average
-> IAED project (62/64 tests - i don't think i can optimize it more without changing the whole code so... this is as good as it'll get, unfortunately)
-> had coffee with a friend

I don't really have many mutuals yet but I'll answer haha
Coffee
A good book that you can get lost in
When you have no errors in your code #ikyk
When your favorite coffee shop is empty and quiet
fresh flowers on the kitchen counter
Last night, I had another crashout and realized I'm not at all prepared to test for my discrete math course. my foundation in math is not up to college level and it really shows. i'm going to divert and work on other courses and do tutoring for the rest of the term until i'm ready to take the final for discrete math again (and actually pass).
the relief i felt getting off the call with my advisor was insane. i'm starting on a critical thinking and reason course today so stay tuned for more complaining about that. i feel like a whole human again this is great.
