so i know someone who claims that a majority of inclusionists are white and a majority of exclusionists are non-white, and they seem to be implying that the inclusionist movement is wrong because it's mostly white people? like non-white people know best about this issue, I guess? for context, the person saying this is white, and so am I, and i guess I don't even know what i'm asking, this argument just really confused me.
Inclusionists being majority white is laughable. This blog alone has only one white person out of four modding. My new blog, aspecparenting, gathered mods at random, and half of the six mods are of color. I make it a mission to weed and determine who’s white and reblogging from my inclusionist personal, and its very low.
Who the hell is measuring this racial discrepancy? Is it based off of what blogs make your way across your customized, limited network? Is it from the hearsay of said other white exclusionists?
If we’re gonna talk about the whiteness in the ace community, we sure as hell gonna talk about whiteness in the lgbt+ community as a whole. Because … I mean, not to be lactose intolerant, but its like hanging out in a box full of styrofoam packing peanuts.
Aspecs of color have gone to lengths to try to get their voice out there. Exclusionists saying that the aspec community is largely white is an effort to erase our voices. And that’s not excusable.

The judge refusing to have Luigi's shackles removed due to "safety" concerns just shows how this case has been nothing but the presumption of guilt over innocence. They're trying so hard to make him look dangerous when in reality I'd feel safer alone in a room with Luigi than with any of those NYPD officers around him :/ I have no words
So the AI ask wasn't spam. I'd highly encourage you to do some research into how AI actually works, because it is neither particularly harmful to the environment, nor is it actually plagiarism.
Ignoring all of that however, my issue is that, fine, if you don't like AI, whatever. But people get so vitriolic about it. Regardless of your opinions on if it's valid art, your blog is usually a very positive place. It was kind of shocking to see you post something saying "fuck you if you disagree with me, your're a disgrace to the community." Just felt uncharacteristicly mean.
Even if you insist AI isn’t actively harmful to the environment or other writers (and the research I have done suggests it is, feel free to send me additional reading) and you simply MUST use prompts to generate personal content, nobody has any business posting it in a creative space for authors, which was the specific complaint addressed in that original post. While I’ll never say “fuck you for who you are as a person” on this blog, I might very well say “fuck you for harmful or rude actions you’ve taken willingly,” which is what that post was about.
Ao3 and similar platforms are designed as an archive for fan content and not a personal storage place for AI prompt results. It is simply not an appropriate place. If you look in the notes of the previous ask you will see other people have brought up additional reasons they have concerns about this practice.
A note on environmental effects for those who might not know: Generative AI requires MASSIVE amounts of data computers operating. As anyone who has held a laptop in their lap or run Civ VII on an aging desktop computer, computer équipement generates a lot of heat. Even some home and small-industrial computers have water-cooling systems. The amount of water demanded by AI computers is massive, even as parts of the world (even in America) experience water shortages. Besides this, it consumes a lot of power. The rising demand for AI and the improvements demanded to keep it viable mean this problem will continue to scale up rather than improve. Of course, those who benefit from the use of AI continue to downplay these concerns, and money is being funneled into convincing the public that these are not real concerns.
I have been openly against the use of generative AI, especially for art and writing, since its popularity rose in the last couple years. I’m sorry I wasn’t clearer about this stance sooner. I have asked my followers to alert me if I proliferate or share AI content, and continue to do so.
I play D&D without a brain just fine
access to the internet
that's it
you don't need any fancy dice, there's apps and websites for that. you don't need expensive textbooks, basic info is available for free and everything else is homebrew-able. you don't need spell cards or a fancy dice box or a rolling tray or a dm screen. print your spell cards out for free online, store your dice in a plastic bag, roll your dice on the table, and stand up folders or boxes like we did when taking tests in primary school.
all those things are cool but the only thing you need is a brain, so don't let all the stuff you can buy deter you from doing some badass d&d stuff.
Well fucks? Get to it!
The #AllLivesMatter degenerates love the two-tier style of justice and complete disregard for children.
it’s crazy how absolutely blatantly luigi’s constitutional rights are being breached and people seem more concerned about his appearance than a real, scary view of the power CEOs and the healthcare industry have over the legal system. like yeah he looks good in those photos i can appreciate that too but can we focus on the fact that the media is absolutely treating him as if he has already been found guilty. this could happen to anyone. anyone could be arrested over the death of a wealthy, influential person and the precedent being set right now is essentially that the prosecution can run wild and create documentaries declaring your guilt. like that’s really serious and scary.
tbh I really dislike how aphobia tends to be discussed whenever there's some kind of incident that makes it visible to general society. The most common response seems to be some variation of "why would anyone hate asexual/aromantic people, they aren't even doing anything" and it just always sits wrong with me. It paints such a passive picture of our existence and feels like a comment influenced by the level of invisibility that aspec people have in society. Why would you be annoyed by someone who is practically invisible? Just go back to ignoring their existence, it's easy!
But despite the invisibility, aspec people are actually doing quite a lot of things that will piss off queerphobic, right-wing and religious people (and hell, even left-wing people). And the most obvious point is that we are actively not performing heterosexuality the way they want us to. People who's entire world view is "cis men and women should be in monogamous, heterosexual marriage and have (white) babies" are not going to lean back and say "oh but those asexuals and aromantics are fine". They will also hate our guts, and they will come up with all sorts of reasons, including insinuating we're all secretly into bestiality, or mentally ill, or not human, or attention seeking children. It's just plain old queerphobia, and like all queerphobia, there's no inherent logic to it which you can worm your way out of by "not doing anything".
And like, there's a lot more that aspec people do which people hate. Raising awareness about amatonormativity? People feel attacked, they hate it. Asexual people having sex? Or not having sex? People hate it! Aromantic people being in (seemingly) romantic relationships? People fucking hate it! Aromantic people having sex? Ohh people hate that!!
I guess the existence of aphobia can be confusing when you haven't spent much time thinking about asexuality and aromanticism, but in the end, these are identities that aren't heteronormative and they will be hit with the same or similar bigotry as any other queer identity. I just get tired of this response after seeing it recycled for 10 years without ever seeming to go any further.
