I’m not usually one for arranged marriage aus, I prefer forbidden romance situations personally but damn there’s something about princess Fran who spent their childhood growing up in a sunny summer kingdom forced to marry the prince of some northern tribe where it rains 285 days out of the year and snows the rest of the time and maybe it’s sunny one day of the year (their wedding day)

And of course they don’t speak each other’s language so Fran has no other choice but to assume that Alasdair is some dullard lacking wit and charm but oh how he is pleasantly mistaken…

I think theyre both really big cuddlers BUUUUUTT I feel like Alasdair is the clingier one...like I feel like his love language is physical touch whereas Francis' is gift giving and dping favors and stuff like that, so Alasdair is very much a cuddler even in the dead of summer and Francis is dying of overheating

88. How do they comfort each other when they are helpless to do anything about the situation?

Ooh...this is a good one. I think that Alasdairs kind of a ManTM and so sometimes he's not really sure what to do or say to help, but I think he can be a really great listener so he'll always offer an ear for Francis to vent to if he really can't do anything to fix stuff. Francis is more, again, a gift giver type and he does a lot of favors and stuff so I think that he'd take a more "distract from the problem and self care in the meantime" approach. So until they can figure out the best plan of action, he'll make Alasdair his favorite foods and offer him massages and stuff like that...

What do you think life was like for Scotland when there was the British empire? I thought it'd be interesting to know about

Oh.. very complex topic. See, Scotland has a very interesting history with both opposing England yet also working together with it at the same time. The British empire is a great example of that. Scottish people inherently benefited from the British empire and contributed to a lot of the colonialism attached to it, but at the same time many suffered under it as well. Especially the highlanders with things like the highland clearances.

Similarly, I think Scotland (hws) would be the same way. He both opposes England yet also works with him countless times; one of the most glaring examples being the colonization of Ulster and ‘adopting’ Northern Ireland, who became like a son to him that he never had- an idea that was given and supported by England.

So, tldr. It’s complicated. Like most things are. I really think it would’ve been a period of internal conflict Scotland would’ve been dealing with
