I think a lot of people understand why this is bad, but in case some don't let me explain.

The nation was horrified by the recording of George Floyd being murdered. But what if it had never been recorded? Would Derek Chauvin still be out? Would they have tossed the case due to insufficient evidence?

Look, the 2020 protests resulted in laws being passed to hold police accountable. Were they fully successful? No. Does more need to be done? Yes. But there was more being done than I've ever seen.

Now, in the space of a few months we have

The SCOTUS ruling prisoners don't have the right to an appeal.

The SCOTUS ruling that cops can't be sued for failing to Mirandize people.

The SCOTUS rule the government can charge nonIndigenous people for commiting crimes on tribal land, stripping Native Americans of tribal sovereignty.

And in Arizona, people can't record cops within 8 feet of an arrest.

This is not an accident or a coincidence. Conservatives are sending a message that no matter what cops do, they will back cops up. They are saying that they don't like cops being held accountable. These rulings should be taken as retaliation for any policy passed that protects BIPOC and hold police accountable.

6th April marks the first celebration of IAD which has been organised by various groups around the world.

Happy International Asexuality Day! Today is a day for celebrating all people who identify under the asexual umbrella and spreading awareness about their experiences.

A number of ace organisations worked together to make April 6th 2021 the very first International Asexuality Day.

The themes of today are:

• Advocacy

• Celebration

• Education

• Solidarity

What is asexuality?

• Feeling little to no sexual attraction

Some asexual people also feel no romantic attraction. This is known as aromantic.

However, some asexual people do feel romantic attraction. This is broadly known as alloromantic, but can be more specific such as biromantic (romantically attracted to two or more genders but experience little/no sexual attraction).

Asexuality is a spectrum!

Here’s just a few identities within the asexual umbrella:

Demisexual - someone who does not experience sexual attraction until they have formed a deep emotional connection with someone

Grey-asexual – someone who feels sexual attraction weakly, infrequently, or in specific contexts

Aceflux – someone whose sexual orientation fluctuates but generally stays on the asexual spectrum

Lithosexual – someone who does experience sexual attraction but does not want it reciprocated. Person may be uncomfortable at the thought of someone being sexually attracted to them, or they may lose their sexual feelings if they learn it's reciprocated.

Fraysexual – when someone only experiences sexual attraction towards those that they are not deeply connected with, and lose that attraction as they get to know the person.

Why is awareness important?

• Combats acephobia

• Challenges normativity

• Helps provide support

• Feelings of connectedness and community ; feel less alone

• Dispel myths and misunderstandings

• Help normalise asexuality and other LGBTQ+ identities

• Representation ; increasing visibility

• Helps highlight the issues faced

• Celebrating people on the asexual spectrum

Nico going nuts over pride month headcannons let's GOOOOOOOOO

Okay so Nico wasn't really familiar with the concept of pride month, like at all, he had no idea what it was

So one day Will was casually like huh pride is just around the corner and Nico's like??? Pride? Who's pride?? And Will's like OH GOD you don't know what Pride is?

And so he sat him down and told him everything and Nico was like gonna lose his shit because he was so excited. A month?? Dedicated to the gays?? The homosexuals?? That sounded like heaven to him. He read like a bazillion pride articles on the interweb because he was just bouncing with energy.

He ordered loads of rainbow stuff, streamers and balloons and flags, oh god the flags, and he completely covered his room with them, and then he covered the Apollo cabin because yes <3

And everyone at camp was just as excited, because a large part of them belonged to the lgbtq+ community and they always celebrated pride in a really fun way

Nico was probably the most excited tho, but he was also a little bit nervous because he wasn't really used to celebrating his sexuality and it was kinda hard after being closeted for so long but Will helped him with that

Believe it or not but Dionysus is intricate in celebrating pride at camp, it's the one occasion that he really loves and wants everyone to have a good time so he plans it all to the T as they say, and the first time he came to camp he was like y'all don't celebrate pride????? How do you live?? Peasants. And then he started the whole thing of celebrating pride at camp

They try and decorate all the cabins with themes being a certain sexuality, like they decorate cabins dedicated to certain sexualities and it's like a fun healthy competition

The Iris Cabin turn everything rainbow but everyone is okay with that <3

And Nico hasn't felt this happy and included in ages, he's like thriving and having so much fun that he's literally like why the fuck are we getting only one month???? We deserve half the year! And everyone's like yes.
