Also idk how to post it but the season 13 bloopers for times up, dennis is fully touching his whole leg/foot on Macs, and slowly pulls in back. At the start of each new take he puts his leg back to touching mac in the same way and pulls it back again. soooooo
i rewatched dennis gets divorced and sometimes i can't believe that episode is real. dennis getting married to maureen and being disappointed that she's not, well... mac. he wants to do with her the same shit he did with mac, calls her dude, wants to watch the same movies he watches with mac and slowly starts realizing he misses the structure that mac gives to him. when he goes to the strip club with the gang, it's not about getting laid with women. he doesn't give a shit about that at all, barely pays attention to the women, doesn't flirt with anyone. at the end of the night, who does he bring home with him? mac. and then maureen comes in. we know that everyone outside the gang is like an outsider but maureen is an outsider to whatever the fuck dennis and mac have going on, specifically. nobody could replace mac in dennis' life and the example they chose was a romantic partner. they go to the bar and share casual intimate moments, like mac brushing his teeth and them getting dressed together. it's not like they have many choices but it's interesting that they chose to show this. he can't stand having maureen living with him for a few days and yet can't bare the idea of not living with mac. the apartment is mostly his and mac doesn't contribute with rent. it'd be more beneficial to live alone and see mac like he sees the gang. but no, he wants mac with him. they're soulmates all the way.
BYE.
Dennis in Times up- "Well guess what pal, you are ugly and it doesn't matter how much you work out, its never going to change that fact."
Dennis in the its always sunny book published 3 years prior- "Mac for instance is also a 3 in ugly, so even if this exercise we're going to try fails, you'll have some company at your ugly parties. For the record, on the ugly scale charlie is a five, frank is a six, and Dee is a nine."
Dennis considers Mac to be the most attractive of the gang (not counting himself obviously). And I feel like this just further proves what an unreliable narrator he is. In Breaks up he tells mac he has nice biceps and beautiful lips (this is cannon in my heart even though the scene was deleted it still happened). He'd rather cut his limbs off than admit to something like that now.
Dennis has a boner for Macs ripped new body and it makes him so mad how hard he is for him and also so angry and jealous that he's not as ripped as Mac is.
their rituals kill me
happy thanksgiving jfc
movie night
Mac is literally the cleanest of the gang, I don’t care that they dropped his bossiness a bit in later seasons but he was still the one cleaning Charlie and Frank’s apartment in “Mac and Dennis break up”, so I’ll just take that scene as representative of his entire character from now on, thank you very much
But seriously, it makes sense. We’ve seen his mom, how she’s a mess alone (and his father wouldn’t make much of a difference if he was present). Lots of people that grow up in an uncaring and messy environment tend to grow up and take cleaningness very seriously. I speak from personal experience when I say I get anxious when I see a messy bedroom precisely because it brings me back to my early childhood. Mac took the role of “man of the house” very seriously after his father went to jail, it’s very evident his bossiness and need to take care of people came from that. He NEEDS Dennis to need him, because if he doesn’t, what’s preventing him from just leaving?
Speaking of Dennis, I wouldn’t describe him as clean like other people have. He’s not messy, he likes to have things organized, but only to the extent of his own willingness to clean. I actually think Dennis would be very laidback in general, he grew up with maids and butlers and never actually lived on his own. His college dorm must’ve been a hellsite, though the majority of dorms usually are. Mac cleans after Dennis, metaphorically and literally.
This then leads me to think a bit more about their living dynamics (though I dwelve into more headcanon-y territory) like how Dennis probably takes care of the money aspects (tbf Frank’s credit card takes care of it), Mac does grocery shopping because I think if Dennis did it, he’d come back with like 4 protein bars and some apples to last them the whole month. Mac totally cleans Dennis’ room, atleast in minor ways like dusting and taking out the trash, wile Dennis keeps their apartment tidy by decorating shelves or keeping things in their places. It’s a silent part of their living arrangement and the kind of thing they’d never trade off.
absolutely my main blogyes I like the entire show not just the ship, but thats all u r gonna find here
