I do not usually make posts like this but recently I have seen a lot of content on Instagram, Twitter and I think tiktok too misunderstanding the meaning of intrusive thoughts, which may cause people experiencing them to be upset.
I have tried to shortly explain the difference of impulsive and intrusive and hope it will help people to understand and use the words correctly.
Reblogs are very much appreciated!

immediately, i'm struck by the fact that they're not only using one hand, their other hand is.... supporting their arm? PLUS their legs are CROSSED??, and not only does that mean they could pull a muscle, all their strength is coming from their shoulder, which puts them at high risk of dislocating something if they swing it any faster. 1/10
strawberry my beloved you've restored my faith. she doesn't have a tight grip of the axe, but she is holding it near the head and then sliding down as she swings. YES. she's not angled right but she gets a pass because shes 13. 9/10
oh good lord. they start off alright, but then??? let go?? of the axe, making it look like they're throwing it at the wood like a swingball...?. . points for being funny but that is a terrifying thing to do with an axe. also, another child that should not be chopping wood. 4/10
gramps? are you using magic sparkles to chop wood again? whatever. he's swinging it below his waist in a very nice arc, and has his hand firmly enough around the axe for me not to be nervous, but again, one hand. i really hope the flower can see for him. 6/10
DTUFJZTJDTXJUTDTZZKSKSJS he fucking HATES this on god look at him. not only that, but hitting this with your non-dominant hand and backwards is likely to hurt AND take a long ass time on top of every other thing he's doing wrong. 0/10 i'm just sorry they did this to u king
okay it's. kind of impossible to chop wood completely safely with. yknow. one arm. soooo ig she's angled herself right and she gets 5/10
i wish his right hand was a liiiiittle higher at the peak of the swing, but other than that he's doing very well!,!... is what i would say if his eyes weren't fuckin closed!!! and WHERE pray tell is your passion?!?! 7/10!!!!
stepping forward as you swing is very wrong and dangerous, and, shes not holding it right. it looks like shes hitting below her waist, but thats moot if she's swinging so far she could dislocate something. 2/10
swinging the axe behind your head and out of your peripherals is SO dangerous oh my god. the arc is nice, but she's holding it by the end of the handle which means it could so easily slip out of her hands. however, i don't doubt she doesn't know what she's doing. 3/10
NOPE! his clothes are a huge goddamn hazard, he's holding the axe by the end, his body is completely forward and he's hitting at face height!!! he's likely to get more splinters than firewood, 1/10

“The gift” a spooky month comic :D
Ghost uses sign language and Hollow writes what they want to say down! Hollow is completely mute and Ghost is nonverbal most of the time.
Hollow is often regarded as the "oldest" sibling, even though they're basically the same age as Hornet and Ghost.
The dreamers are all best friends, but Herrah and Monomon often start joke-bullying Lurien because he's a manlet and a Pale King simp. I honestly can't blame them.
Grimm was a hardcore theatre kid. He never grew out of it. He's seen way too many musicals to count, and if he existed in the real world he'd probably know the lyrics to every Hamilton song.
Pale King used a good chunk of Hallownest's tax money to pay for the purchase and installment of his buzz saws.
The Seer is a witch! If she were a real person, she'd have a shitton of tarot cards and crystals, as well as many, many books on spells and rituals.
Sheo is really skilled at makeup and face paint. I don't really have much to add, but it's a bit unsurprising considering he's an artist.
That's all for now! I may add more but idk
my headcanons about void in hollow knight :D i also think eventually, with the palace being so brightly lit, the void constructs thicken on the inside and have to be phased out
[id: a series of black-and-white labeled sketches. the first is a jar of black liquid, with text reading “void in its natural state- very goopy, like molasses”. the second is a picture of a cup of void, then a flashlight shining into the cup, then a solid block of void in the cup’s shape. text reads “exposure to light thickens over time, eventually turning it solid”. the third picture is of the lighthouse shining over the void lake. the top part of the lake is labeled “thick, immobile layer,” while the rest is labeled “thin liquid layer”. text reads “the void lake is too large to completely solidify, so the lighthouse works by thickening the top layer so the rest of the lake cant break through”. the next picture is of a mold for a void construct, next to a kingsmould with no armor, labeled “barbequed”. text reads “the void constructs are formed by exposing the void to blinding light inside the mold for a short time, essentially solidifying the shell but leaving the inside liquid”. the final picture is of the king looking at the young hollow knight, sleeping. text reads “being half pale being, the vessels are not affected by the light as strongly. however, exposure to bright light does make them sleepy”. end id]

An avid tv head fangirl,

As in the previous post, here’s a shitty little comic of these 2. The sketches are pretty lazy cuz my hands are cramping pretty bad rn
The human(?) character is Dr.Rayleigh and the robot character is Zyner-X (said like Zie-ners)
Quote is from this post
idk if i've said it before, but another aspect about Hollow Knight's lore that compels me is that its a tragedy, but it's told through the story of the victims. The Pale King is a sterotypically tragic character in that the road to his damnation was paved by his own love, hubris, and damnation, but we don't deal with that downfall directly, and the game offers no sympathy for his situation. Instead, the characters who drive the story are the ones who would normally be the silent casualties accompying the downfall, or the victims of the protagonist's fatal flaw. We're given a story where for once, the focus is not set on the agony of the main character, but of the lives of the people he hurt, and we are privy to that pain and anger and sadness that was inflicted on the voiceless victims. We see the story unfold from their perspective, we watch them deal with the aftermath. And while they were discarded by the main plot of the tragedy of Hallownest after it was all over and done with (that being the fall), their pain isn't depicted as any lesser just because they were forced to be silent. Obviously they too are tragic characters, but they were forced into such circumstances because of their father's hubris and inability to concede defeat, and we see the refuge of his actions change the whole world despite it all, specifically because they loved their sibling too much to let them go.
Idk. It just hits different when you read it from that perspective, especially since it really drives home the fact that no matter how much the Pale King regretted his fall from grace, his emotions meant nothing because it still lead to his children suffering when they didn't deserve it. Hollow Knight is a story about the shadows of what many others would consider to be the main characters, and I love it for that
(Radi might also be a tragic character, as someone who was betrayed by her own people and then came back a monster when trying to chase her own glory, but we don't know enough about her side of the tale to say for sure, but I can say for certain that she makes a terrifyingly good antagonist)
