a teaser being released today would've been perfect what a missed opportunity šš
saying āi want himā about the character but not in a romantic or sexual way . i just Require him i need to Obtain him
why did they include cas shoving dean against a wall on multiple occasions if they didnāt want us to think dean was a little gay
Something about spelling Cas with two sās just feels homophobic
Supernatural is so fucking wild. Charlie canāt flirt with a guy because sheās gay, fair. So the obvious solution is to have Dean flirt with the guy??? Genuinely what the fuck is this show
DUDE?!
dean is not a man of faith, never has been, not after everything heās lost. but somehow, a late night drive after a violent nightmare takes him to an empty church; it looks abandoned or otherwise vacant and heās just⦠compelled to go in. he doesnāt really know why, something just pulls him in and for once he doesnāt go kicking and screaming.
he is not a man of faith and he hesitates as he looks over the rows of empty pews. he feels like a stain on a white cloth, a parasite to a host, like he doesnāt belong here and the thought of being here makes his skin crawl. he doesnāt know why heās here in the first place and his heart is pounding with leftover anxiety. heās not here for chuck though. maybe heās here for jack. maybe for sam. but neither is really true.
he is not a man of faith but dean walks to the pews stiff and uncertain. heās only ever stepped into a church willingly once and that was for his mothers funeral. the church is empty but dean feels eyes heavy on him, like if he doesnāt get this right heāll burst into flames. he is walking sin, he feels like filth in a holy house, but he kneels anyway. he kneels and goes willingly and he feels a knot in his gut thatās telling him that whatever he says or does he is not deserving, he doesnāt deserve any blessings he asks for, any help he needs, any guidance he seeks.
he doesnāt ask for anything, though. he folds his hands and he closes his eyes. he is not a man of faith, and deans certain this will all lead to no-one, but he prays.
he doesnāt pray to anyone in particular, and itās not necessarily that he meant to pray to cas specifically, but it just happens. the decision was more unconscious, like it was easy as breathing; of course heād pray to cas. and maybe itās the fact hes in a church that the prayer he sends is so loud, so holy, that the newly reformed angel of thursday stills in the bunker when dean winchester, man of little faith, the righteous man, kneels and bows his head in prayer in the house of god and prays, not to god himself, but to him.
to dean, itās all nonsense. itās a prayer filled with fear, regret; itās a poem, a memoir, a to-do list, a grocery list, a love letter, an apology. itās nothing, and itās everything.
but to castiel, itās not nonsenses. his prayers are filled with love. itās full with faith for him. the one who believes himself so undeserving is so filled with love and cas is shaking. no creature on earth has come as close as dean winchester has to undoing him. his thoughts are filled with a buzzing energy like an electrical wire that simmers in his sternum, warm and human. he clutches at his chest to keep them safe and castiel aches with a shared longing that almost brings him to his knees. dean winchester prays and castiel listens.
when dean comes home, he doesnāt mention where he went. but cas knows. and something in his face tells dean that he knows. cas watches dean descend down the stairs like nothing monumental just happened. dean offers him a small smile, warm and gentle to make up for him leaving so abruptly just a few hours ago. itās not the command of god that has castiel reaching for him like he did years ago. he just does it because he can. because he wants to. he's allowed to. castiel meets dean halfway, grips him tight, and holds him.
he whispers something holy and intimate that only dean can hear. an angel prays to man. he is a ball of celestial yarn, unravelling at the feet of a man who believes, years ago, he didn't deserve to be saved, that he is nothing but a killer. but he loves. dean winchesters love is not so easily earned, and he loves castiel. he chooses to. so castiel closes his eyes, bows his head, and like amen, he seals his own silent prayer with a kiss. it's a thank you, it's an apology, it's a promise. itās nothing, and itās everything.
dean winchester is not a man of faith, but he has faith in cas. always.
my expression might look neutral and emotionless but fear not ! inside my brain i'm actually imagining my 2 favorite little fictional guys in angsty romantic situations and then yoinkin doinks in richly vivid 4K detail complete with in home theater surround sound
every day I see people say that we canāt generalize by saying āmen do *insert violent thing here*ā but the issue is, you literally can. Most of it boils down to a lack of statistical literacy. You can certainly say that āmen are more likely to commit homicide,ā but that doesnāt mean youāre saying āevery man is a murderer.ā This is called an ecological fallacy, which is when you apply statistical conclusions that are generalizable to a population to a single individual. We know this because homicide is the most reported crime.
Likewise, I could say "higher testosterone is correlated with increased aggression." However, I could not conclude that "testosterone causes men to be violent," even though cis men on average produce more testosterone, because everyone produces testosterone, regardless of their sex. Additionally, we know there are other contributing factors when committing acts of violence like age, intellectual ability, and socioeconomic status. This is called a reductionist fallacy, which is when you attribute a multifactorial issue to a singular cause. (could also be a causal fallacy)
Finally, I could say that "I was abused by a woman," but that does not mean I could then say that "all women are abusers" because that is not backed by statistical evidence. This is a hasty generalization, which is when you apply individual experiences or a small sample to a broader population.
Men are more likely to be perpetrators and victims of every violent crime, except for SA (though there is a ādark figureā as itās called in the field for SA statistics due to underreporting). Women are more likely to be SAd generally, and trans individuals are the most disproportionately likely to be s*xually ab*sed. I would cite more sources (linked below), but this is a consistent fact of crime in every single criminology class I've ever taken as a current forensic psychology graduate student. Most resources you look at will mention this in some way.
I truly hate when men say āwe experience this too!ā but like, yes, yāall do actually, and yāall do it to each other. When you break down the statistics, men are consistently more likely to harm other men than a woman is to harm them. No matter how you twist it, patriarchy is the root of the problem. There is evidence that this gender gap is decreasing in some countries, however.
