Prompt #3
Okay so we all know this:
Hero: I'll save the world even if I have to sacrifice myself.
Villain: I'll burn this world down for you.
But what about this:
Hero 1: I'll save the world even if I have to sacrifice myself.
Hero 2: I'll burn this world down if it meant you're by my side as long as I breathe.
The best part of the percy jackson books is that from percy's perspective hes just an easygoing funny cool guy who seems pretty harmless but the moment you see him from someone elses pov hes terrifying. Just a crazy good fighter, a force of nature killing machine, literally gets mistaken for a god in disguise. But he doesnt see that side of himself at all because hes too busy arguing with authority figures and respecting women. I love him
People forget how adorable Annabeth is

Oh nooooo….my hand slipped guys… 😳
Annabeth comparing 12 year old percy jackson to the king of the gods, the god of wisdom and battle strategy and the god of war and saying he's better than them. Annabeth's entire world view crashing down in the face of Percy's kindness and loyalty to the point where she defends his honor against millenia old gods. I will never recover from this.
The fact that I had been too lazy until, like, 9 minutes ago. And I find you now 😭😭
To the people like me who were to lazy to search up the word "impertinent", i got you
Honestly, W percy
Oh my Gods. OH MY EVERHATING GODS. IF THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN THEN I WILL BREAK. THIS IS LIKE, I DIDNT KNOW I NEEDED IT UNTIL I KNEW IT
Okay, you have been warned - MAJOR PJO BOOK SPOILERS AHEAD. DO NOT KEEP READING IF YOH HAVEN’T READ THROUGH THE END OF THE LAST OLYMPIAN.

Okay, here goes. You know how Annabeth is the one who gets through to Luke in the end? And I legit love that scene, it makes me cry every time and I both want and don’t want to see it play out on screen.
But hear me out. Grover is playing his reeds, right? What if… what if he plays the Consensus Song. He doesn't mean to, he's just freaking out because by the gods that's one of his old friends standing there about to end everything. That's one of his old friends trying to kill his two best friends. And the song just… happens.
And THAT is what breaks Kronos's hold enough for Annabeth to reason with Luke. Hearing that old melody, something he probably hasn't heard since he was on the run with baby Annabeth and Thalia, is what reminds him of his promise. Family.
Percy is the only pure anti hero in the whole Percy Jackson series. Hear me out. I know you will say Nico is an anti hero but Nico actually has a classic hero streak inside if you think about it. Just because he was blinded by revenge for a while does not mean his sole motivation in the books was that. Afterwise, he actually thrived to be a hero and did things to save the world, to be a hero. Remember the last book in PJO.
There is not one single action Percy did in the entire saga that was done because he wanted to be a hero rather than to protect his loved ones. He did not question if what he is doing is right before doing it but questioned whether it helped his loved ones. He did not have the want to be accepted by his parent like others.
That is one of the reasons I love Percy.
I have been at that stage for about 3 years now. And it is so scary. Like, it feels like yesterday that I pulled an all-nighter when I 1st found out about shifting just so I can know all about it. And since then, for so long, I have known almost everything. And I have understood it. And now all of it just comes down to me and my sincerity and my discipline and resolve. Like, the flip am I gon do now, bruh?
I’m trying to come to terms with the fact that I don’t need any help to shift.
I don’t need anymore tips, tricks, or methods. I don’t need more subliminals, I don’t need to constantly reprogram my mind, I don’t even need to read over my script anymore because I consciously and unconsciously know it like the back of my hand.
I know what to do, I just have to build the discipline to do it.
It’s all on me.
And that’s terrifying.
Okay but if the Mythomagic cards were so accurate about the Minotaur and his underwear, and Grover used them to “train” Percy, does that mean the satyrs designed and mass produced these cards themselves? Whose idea was it? Did they like have a big meeting about recruitment and go “What do the kids like these days? Pokey-man? Let’s make a Greek myth Pokey-man game. That’ll help,” and they interviewed a ton of campers like, “Hey, I know that time you almost got killed by a Gorgon was super traumatizing, but we just wanna make sure our cute little card design is accurate. Were her snakes green or purple? Also, would you classify her as Class A or B in power?” Did the campers get super into it too? Was it a group effort? Do they have to update the decks regularly based on new information? Which generation of Mythomagic cards did Percy use? Is the OG packaging limited edition? How popular are they in normal life? Do they get covered by the Mist, and people like Rachel think they’re just insane when they see Mythomagic in a shop window, and everyone else thinks it’s a Pokémon deck? Are there satyrs out in the world running game shops, and whenever someone asks about Mythomagic, they’re like “Do you come from a single-parent household, and also do you want to be friends?” How deEP DOES THIS GO??
