Do you ever think about Anthony's guilt? Because I do. As he ran through the compartments of the never ending train, do you think he thought about the day he'd gotten his son an engine instead of a car? Do you think he remembered the fateful day when he answered his son's questions and shut down his son's fears (what was his name? He can't remember his own son's name), tried desperately to ignore the panic lacing his voice as he showed him (he didn't tell him. He mustn't tell anyone) the hole in the wall?
Do you think he regrets the evening he boarded up the hole and called it a day, refusing to acknowledge and investigate what was clearly making his son uneasy? Do you think he regrets letting him sleep in his own room that night, with the voices ensnaring him slowly? Does he blame himself for unwittingly dooming his little boy?
This is an Anthony appreciation post because he dove through the portal that had swallowed his son without a thought. Because he broke the fundamental rules of this twisted dimension in order to save his now-nameless child. Because he looked an eldritch entity of unimaginable power in the eye and was ready to fight him with his bare hands. All because he refused let himself lose his son a second time.
I’m working on my psychology homework and I can’t focus because one of the psychologists is named Titchener and I just keep seeing gay aubergine farmers
Jornir being big man he is, and how I see him picking up everyone.
I always find it funny whenever Jornir (richie) says something funny, Mikey, Andy, and Mace immediately just start mimicking Jornir voice XD

I'm sure someone's thought of this before and maybe even done something with it, but I've had this idea in my docs and want to share - just about the possibility of an AU where the OUAW crew don't turn in Torbek for whatever reason - maybe they just don't do it in time or they just get super distracted by something or other and forget - and Frost ends up taking his place...
Just pondering about how differently things could have gone, how Frost would have dealt with it as opposed to Torbek. He'd probably handle it a lot better (though there is the very interesting possibility of if he didn't handle it any better) and maybe he'd even learn about the witchlight during the process
It could be kind of funny if he came back wayyyyy sooner than expected because of the way the time slowed and he just managed to finish the entire quest on his own before they even got into the feywild
Butttt, there's also the interesting possibility of that not happening and the crew find him disheveled and affected by the witchlight, perhaps more feral than before. Maybe the first indication is the way his eyes glow pink. Maybe they'd attach the witchlight differently, idk, I haven't thought that far. Maybe he'd be more distant than before, maybe he'd be more clingy. Maybe the witchlight affects him all the same and he attacks them (maybe he knows that he's attacking them but he can't do anything to stop it and he just has to watch), Gricko having to try and tame him like some kind of wild animal - I feel like there are many possibilities and they're all interesting.
Maybe I'll write something about this one day, but I don't know if I could do it justice - but hey, there are some thoughts!
I'VE FINALLY WRITTEN IT!
Thank you OUAW/LoA Tumblr for motivating me, I have finally done it and written out a oneshot for this idea!
"Frost Waits." (2,769 words) - an AU in which Frost takes Torbek's place when the crew doesn't do the trade for one reason or another.
I'm not 100% happy with it, but, hey! I wrote it! It's done!! And I knew if it wasn't a oneshot it was never getting done- but maybe in the future I'll do something more in-depth with it. I hope you enjoy it regardless :D
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and the word syndication here is referring to broadcasting or transferring or otherwise sharing information. I first encountered it as a way to aggregate all of the news sites and blogs I wanted to read that were scattered all over the internet.
You might already be familiar with tumblr blogs that start with ao3feed - these are automated blogs that create a new post every time a work is posted in the feed(s) that they track. You can follow those tumblr blogs and learn about new works that way. They've subscribed to the RSS feed so that you don't have to.
If you wish that you could get push notifications from AO3 on your phone instead? The RSS feed will allow you to do that. You just need to get an account with an RSS reader first. Here are a few that are free:
Feedly
NewsBlur
Inoreader
They each have slightly different features, so depending on the search and filter options you want or how you like your information displayed, you might like one better than the others. All three work on the web, on iOS, and on Android.
Once you have a feed reader, tap on the RSS Feed button at the top of the tag results page that you want to get notifications for and open up the XML file. If it downloads instead, try opening in a new tab or just copying the link address. You'll want to grab a url that looks like this: https://archiveofourown.org/tags/9835/feed.atom (this is the url for Kirk/Spock, if you're curious)
That feed.atom ending on the url is what you're looking for. When you open your RSS reader and create a new feed, you can use that url to set it up.
Once it's set up, you'll be able to see everything currently available in that tab, listed out in your reader. Just like the ao3feed tumblr blogs, the reader will show you the title, author, summary and tags for each fic, and then it will provide you with a link to read the work on AO3.
It will also notify you every time a new work is posted to that tag. You can adjust your notifications to suit you.
Not every tag on AO3 has an RSS feed, but it's worth checking out if you've never tried it before.
Editing to add: the AO3 FAQ also talks about these feeds
Heads up fellow fic writers there is a scam going around in AO3 comments currently that @leafyleaf657 and I discovered
Here's the message they received
And searching the tags on Tumblr other writers have gotten similar messages
This is a scam so please be careful and be vigilant
