My Heartless Headcannon #3

In my first Heartless Headcannon, I theorized the existence of demons so a while ago I thought, why not angels? This headcannon is somewhat a recent idea so this is just a rough draft.

They are far less common than demons

While demon magic is a more darker, twisted version of normal magic (similar to the Wonders' curses) angel, or angelic magic is a more purified form of magic

Races or titles of cherubim, seraphim, archangel can come into play

i have an idea that has been plaguing my mind:

european-inspired kingdoms are heavily against magic/part of the jury, historical european fashion, architecture, and extremely conservative mindset. while their appearance is somewhat similar, their kingdoms are divided and are only united through their connections with the jury.

the asian-inspired kingdom is an insanely massive kingdom due to its size as a continent and the diverse culture and when I mean asia, i don't mean just japan or china, I mean ALL of asia. I imagine that the layout of the kingdom is shaped like a multi-petaled flower and the petals are provinces that are inspired by a specific country and its traditional culture and the center is the kingdom's capital which is all of the provinces combined.

The kingdom fully embraces magic and i imagine that there are a lot more people with magic in this kingdom than the continent the main story takes place because due to the jury's influence, almost all of the natural magic in the main setting's envioronment is gone, while in the asian-inspired kingdom, natural magic is thriving so basically more natural magic=more people with magic. the kingdom is basically invisible from both the jury and magistratum, but the kingdom knows more about the two organizations.

also weird(er) thought: the magistratum and the use of artifical magic which harms the natural magic.

hey so y'know how you mentioned that bandy was French? does this mean these characters live on earth as we know it, with all the same countries? where would they all come from? what languages would they speak? so many questions-

In Bandy’s case, him being French is more of an accent headcanon, even though there is no France in-story lmao

My Heartless Headcannon/Idea

Note: This idea has been tormenting me for almost more than a year and is taking over my life.

Demons/devils exist in the Heartless universe and a group of both witches and humans are the Demon Slayers of this world. (I don’t have a specific name for this group of devil hosts) How one transforms into a demon is if

They fall heavily into one of the seven deadly sins. Example: a witch (or human) is an extremely envious, gluttonous, or wrathful person. And by that twice more than an average, to the point they are literally that personality. Inspiration: while thinking of way’s people transform into a demon, my brain brought up Sweet Home and how the people turn into monsters based on their desires like the iconic Protein Monster

They get bitten by one. However, this one really depends how strong the prey is, the amount of blood they receive, or how severe their bite is. If they are the average, it varies if they will survive. Children and the elderly have the least chance of survival, they are only gone after for food Inspiration: this is similar to the way Muzan Kibutsuji transforms humans into demons, seeing that he transforms those who committed sins into demons using his blood, but this time it can be demons themselves, the only flaw being that it can only be those who are 3/4 between the First and Mid-Rank demons.

They drink the demon’s blood. Drinking raw demon blood is dangerous for humans, as it can either turn them into a demon or kill them (death is a more likely chance), but if the the human (or witch) willingly agrees to drink the demon’s blood, then the blood becomes harmless to the human, the only side effects in the process being increased heart rate, shaky hands, and a back and forth between light and heavy head. Inspiration: I watched a video on the backstories on the Twelve Kizuki from Demon Slayer and while writing on how people turn into demons, I thought of how Kaigaku turned into one, blood given by Kokushibo, and then how Rui turned the Spider Sister, which I then thought, “Yeah, drink the demon’s blood, but maybe it can be different from the other two transformations.”

Eventually, they start to transform into a demon, having an appearance of who and what they are in life, what describes them, and so on. (If you’re confused, look at Hazbin Hotel). The process of becoming a demon is usually agonizing, but it depends. Looking back at the third reason for demon transformation, because the human or witch agreed to become a demon, they are “spared” and the process is 100% pain-free.

The diet of a demon is similar to those in Demon Slayer, except that normal humans are a side dish, their main course are witches and as the more they consume the witches blood, they soon develop magical abilities. The same can also be said for humans, however, the demon has to kill more humans than witches and their abilities are more physical than elemental or in other categories and attributes. While most demons are seen as hostile, some are actually docile and harmless and few even interact with humans and those magic.

Even though the majority of the world are unknown to the demons, a small group This group doesn’t side with neither the Magistratum or the Jury. Instead, they battle cannibalistic demons (look at Demon Slayer). They are fed up with the Magistratum and the Jury, most likely because demons are the ones who made humans hate the witches and also the Magistratum and Jury are oblivious to the existence of demons. This group is also scattered around different regions the Heartless co. travel around. The main base was orginally a fortress-castle town- thing located in the same kingdom Eira is from, however it changed to the capital of an Asian-inspired kingdom.

(I took some inspiration from Demon Slayer and Black Clover. Black Clover is a really cool, but also sorta underrated anime, but I LOVE IT and I HIGHLY recommend it. Alex also said that Heartless is a Shonen Jump-style manga and took some inspiration from other manga series so yea. )

About: I found Heartless in early summer of 2022 and I had just finished watching PricklyAlpaca’s redesign videos and I thought to myself, “Hey, these types of art videos, creating and redesigning OCs sound pretty cool.. I wonder if there’s more.” So i typed in “OC redesigns” and after scrolling, I found this video with the title, “Overhauling An Old Story!” by ABD Illustrates, and I was like- “Sure, why the hell not?”— and I clicked on the video. And I could not believe what I witnessed. The art style, the story concept, THE CHARACTERS. Words cannot bring justice to how much instantly fell in love with this concept When the video ended, I found that there was two more videos (at the time) and I clicked on them faster than the increase on gas prices. When I finished, My brain: OCs? Me: …yes? My brain: well, since you're in your Demon Slayer phase, why not add demons? :D Me: …where sketchbook.
