My first thoughts...

2 sounds pretty fun and in-line to a lot of other stuff you work like Welcome to the Void, An Angel Just for Me , and A Strange New Beginning. Things would get very wild given Jinx just freed an cosmic being of untold power into the world.  

4 too given I love Mythology, and given LoL stuff like the Aspects , the God-Warriors, Freljordian Demi-gods, Other Spirit Gods, I think you could have a lot of fun of say Jinx becoming an Aspect host as did Lux. (And where does Jinx end, and the Aspect ends?) 

Wanting to post random AUs I’m sitting on just to get peoples opinions, but then there’s the expectations I’ll work on them regularly. I don’t know if there’s a way of sidestepping that by tagging it something like “Concept Fic” just so I don’t add more to my large plate.

Think even if I did I’d still leave at least some people eager for more…

Currently got (Practically all Lightcannon btw, its claws are deep):

Nature Mage Jinx gets exiled to Demacia and chills with Ivern in the woods.

Canon Divergent AU where Jinx’s attempt at using the Hexgem opens a small portal allowing for Dark Cosmic Lux to get out of pocket dimension prison (This one I actually just have to think of an ending for…)

Monster Slayer Lux with Goblin Powder and Siren Seraphine.

Gods/Goddess AU taking inspo from Greek and Celtic myth, honestly the one I’m most eager to share since I experimented with my writing style.

There’s also that Demon fic which is 13k words that I got stuck on…

Maybe it might turn out okay if I work shopped a soft/open ending for each? Though that might be a bit hard for some of them…

Oh, Persona 2. Where did you go? 

I feel for Set getting dragged into that little Greek family mess with his own problems. On the upside, Apollo is likely the one who helped Set find his old wife in the first place.

On an more serious note, I can easily see Anput being the Angrboda counterpart, as in Egyptian Mythology, she shared a lot of Anubis functions and was his wife. She could be would be the main one trying actively guiding Atreus. (Compared to Nephthys who wants to do the same, but more focus on keeping her son safe, and Kratos who is not happy with any of this, and wanting to avoid the whole war, which his wife would agree at the start, and focus on his own family.)

God of War in Egypt

I kind of wish that the God of War sequel series had taken place in Egypt instead of Midgard. Aside from just loving Egyptian Mythology and it being severely underrated, I really think it could have worked thematically with God of War.

Let me explain.

So, the most famous myth in Egyptian Mythology, and arguably the most important, is the succession crisis between Horus and Set. Basically, Horus is the son of Osiris, the previous King of the Gods, whom Set, Osiris’ brother, murdered and took the throne for his own.

But, it’s not so cut and dry. See, the original King of the Gods was Ra, the creator deity, who was forced out by Isis, mother of Horus and wife of Osiris, and then forced him to name Osiris his heir. Set was Ra’s greatest general and oathsworn warrior, and by all rights should have been king after Ra stepped down. So Horus’ claim isn’t as ironclad as it appears.

So, why does this work?

Because it’s a legitimate divine WAR. A war where no one is clearly in the right or wrong, and both sides have to stand on the strength of their morals, rather than being ruled by a generic fantasy Evil King you need to rebel against.

So, picture this for the God of War sequel series:

Kratos makes his way to Egypt after the fiasco in Greece, and there he meets Nephthys, the sister of Isis and a Goddess of Night, the Dead, and Air. Nephthys is in hiding as she doesn’t want to get involved in the war between her family. She knows who Kratos is, he’s got a reputation, and hides her identity as a Goddess, tending to his wounds. They end up falling in love and having a child together, whom they name Atreus. But Nephthys gives him a different name in secret.

She names him Anubis.

When Atreus is young, the family is thrown into the Succession War when Nephthys’ identity is revealed. This obviously pisses of Kratos because he’s still in his “hates all the Gods” thing and thinks Nephthys used him. But he still loves her, and despite the tension the three of them try to keep themselves together and try to stay alive in the midst of this divine war.

They don’t really like either side of the war, and both occupy a somewhat villainous position in the beginning. Horus is an arrogant jerk and Set is a brutal warrior. Both are meant to be a parallel to Kratos as well, Set having a similar backstory and warrior mindset and Horus emodying the brutal hateful anger at everything that made Kratos destroy the Olympian pantheon.

Basically, Atreus/Anubis in these games would be Kratos’ opposite. He’s gentle and weak where Kratos is brutal and powerful. Atreus’ unique ability is to communicate with the dead, drawing power from them and laying their spirits to rest. It’s this power that makes him indispensable to the war, as he gains the ability to do the same with dead Gods as well, including Osiris.

Ultimately, it’s revealed that Apophis, the Chaos Serpent, has been manipulating both sides this whole time in an effort to throw the world into chaos. Isis finally relents her mbition, Horus unbend his pride, and Set stops fighting.

They end up putting Ra back on the Throne for the coming conflict with Apophis, and the gods recognize Atreus as Anubis, one of their pantheon. Kratos is forced to learn to trust Gods and realize that Ra is not the tyrant Zeus was. He forgives Nephthys for her deception and accepts his son as a God, and they work together against Apophis.

I dunno. I just think it could work.

I also love this as someone who loves Halloween and all that. Never thought Athena as a witch, but let's go with it.

Obviously, Jack would be the Devil, or at least one of the big name devils. I could see his end goal being the same, freeing ancient before time monsters from their vaults and all the quests and deals is part of that. Maybe Jack is himself an kinda Vampire'/his Handsome Sorcerer self. If he can bring back Janey back...

And Angel is a actual angel he's sucking the holiness out of.

A alternative idea for Athena is a page from Van Helsing, who is strongly hinted to be a Fallen Angel Gabriel and the one who killed Dracula in 1462. (And the latter came back thanks to a deal with the Devil.) Also he became a werewolf in the final battle and kills Dracula.

An exiled witch that lives within the forest, drowned in desolation and acrimony after her former home had been burned down—along with her dearest. Years after her vow to never use dark magic again, the flaming desire to be with her late wife ignites stronger than ever.

She is willing to make thousands of deals with the devil just to bring her back.

I love the idea of Calliope and Atreus putting his half-sister back together. Never mind learning more about Old Kratos and what exactly happened in Greece (IE: Kratos being tricked by Ares to kill his wife and child.) leading to a big fallout between father and son.

My ideas for the set up and more.

Opening.

Any story in my mind could start out with the first war against Apophis, Ra and the other first Gods looking out from the Benben before fighting in the waters, allowing the player to post at max level. (Think if you could play as Zeus fighting the Titans.)

It switch to Old Kratos in an isolated oasis with his family. Maybe near Kharga Oasis, or the Bahariya Oasis.

Some of Gods and where their stand in the Civil War.

Geb and Nut: Titan like beings and the parents of Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys. They have no role in the Civil War itself.

Thoth: A close ally to Isis and the closest thing Horus had to a father after Osiris' death.

Bastet: Horus agasint her sister.

Sekhmet: Set due to her loyalty to Ra.

Ptah: Horus due to the murder of Osiris.

Montu: One of Set's best generals.

Sobek: At the moment a wild card god.

Hathor: Neutral and trying to break a peace.

A lot of gods and goddess are still either still attempts neutrality, or roles takes them beyond the war itself. Like Neith and others. Some like Amun...no one seen him in like forever. Some early allies of Kratos could be Amenhotep, son of Hapu, Ash, Imhotep.

Aten in my mind could be say a rogue god who fell from grace after his power play failed with Akhenaten and his followers as a secondly theart.

You can still tied in some stuff from Norse Era, like a lot of gods talked about Tyr, and how they gave him back his arm after losing it to Garm. Or even mentioned of the 'Hebrews and their one god' and no one likes talking about it. Or Kratos being called 'a Sea Man' as a reference to the Sea People.

Osiris and Set: Even with how he came to power, Osiris was a great king and Pharaoh, who tired to make peace with his brother, but between Isis' manipulations, and Set's bitterness failed. When war did break out, Osiris attempted again to make peace. No one knows what just happened, but Set did cut his brother down accidental. This drove many into Horus and Isis camp.

I admit I took a lot from Horizon and Call of Duty Extinction and more I'm making up as I go. I finally got Declassified and I could not help myself.

In my mind, child Sombra was taken by Anubis loyalists, and forcibly turned into a cybernetic freak. Unlike Sojourn (Who isn't really there anymore. There nothing left of Vivian Chase, only Anubis.) as the God Program host body, Olivia Colomar still exists, fighting against the Sombra's persona.

Doomfist, he's definitely one of the major leaders, or figures on the Mars Colony of Humans. His Social Darwinism philosophy to reclaim the Earth from the Omnics and the 'fake humans'. He, and Moira would be the biggest Martian Humans Heroes. Compared to maybe Mercy and Lifeweaver who should stay on Mars and focus rebuilding.

I see you had Cassidy as among the Human Survivors on Earth. In my eyes Cassidy would be an Jeremiah Johnson/Man with No Name. A man with few if any words to say, it all in his actions. So alone for so long, but still has a heart in him.

Of course Mauga would still be alive and kicking. He gone full Ocean World.

Illari, could be interesting if the Inti Warriors are still around in the Andes and just wanna be left around/left undiscovered.

All the cloned cast would be very different. But you can still see certain characteristics from Canon as part of the 'Human Nature.' Some would become rebellious like Ashe, and Junker Queen, others trying to figure out what a human being actually means.

Ramattra would be one of the most interesting to explore. Even here I feel he would be a sorta outsider because of being a Ravagers, built by Anubis for war. He has no reason to hate humans, but maybe thinking the project to bring them back to be a bad one. Even so I like to think he defends everyone on top on going after Anubis itself. Peace at any cost. The same for working with Macaria.

Curious to see Echo and Orisa. I guess the're attempts by the Omics to create a new generation.

Large parts of the Earth have been left abounded, reclaimed by nature, litter with the legacy of mankind and the Crisis, Omnics are often clustered around the old Omniums as well as several other locations.

No idea why I did this, but you might enjoy it and offer some insight on it. The Omnic Crisis ended with the Extinction of Humanity. Or Pyrrhic Victory in the Crisis.

I now have brain rot. I love this so much!!

Ok first I would like to point out a couple of things. The first being, considering the state of the Overwatch world during the Crisis, other then then brilliant minds being saved, the only other people who would have been saved were probably rich. Another thing is that I think the only people who would be cloned would be those who died at a young age, so a majority of the old guard stay dead, and a suggestion I would make to avoid complicating ages would be have the cloning process match how old the DNA is.

I would also like a specification on what Sombra is doing in this AU, because I assume she's trying to save Sojourn, but it also sounds she's either also being controlled by Anubis or helping him in some way.

However speaking of Sombra there is something I need to specify and that it, if a character has augmentations like she does in canon and they are part of the few surviving humans on earth in this universe, they wouldn't have those augmentations unless they were needed for survival and they were saved by Omics.

Also I would love to see how morals change for characters because of this change. Specifically the Talon characters.

I would also like to point out that Ramattra and maybe Zen would probably be the main ones trying to stop Anubis on the Omnic side of things, maybe even working with Macaria.

Anyway I also made a list on what I think the state of all the characters, so enjoy;

I read the orignal 1938 story a lot in high school and there was a 2013 movie with  Ben Stiller. 

The Office set up I think works very well for the story premise and I love just how in a loop the Lux/Jinx relationship is kinda stuck in, leading to the pair just to start daydreaming fantastic scenarios about the other.  Even the fact Lux start to cause tech problems just to get near Jinx more. 

Meanwhile, Vi and Cait (Both company security.)  are probably watching from the outside, while having the same daydreams about each other.  

New random story idea: The Secret Life of Jinx and Lux. Based off the story, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, it has Jinx and Lux having just a normal, slow day, and so having various daydreams being and doing wild and crazy stuff to get by the day. Think of it as a excuse to do various one-shorts in one story and maybe explore the LoL skin alternate universes. (Say picture Jinx as a cool assassin and Lux as her target's girlfriend who falls for Lux.)

I've never seen The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, but I can kinda get the idea behind it based on how you describe it. Story could basically be about two bored office workers (or some similar job) thinking up ways to pass the time.

Unsure if it would be a shared daydream or just have switching PoV each chapter. Kinda like the idea of switching PoV just for the fact they could both believe they have a one-sided crush and daydreaming around the other.

Like for example, maybe Jinx works IT and Lux is the Secretary for the company. Most people don't pay Jinx (or any of the IT people for that matter) much mind, maybe they're seen as weird, yet every morning when Jinx walks in Lux always greets her which started their initial relationship. Just small talk, evolved into offered food/drink, but never really going past that.

Daydreams start from there with Jinx bored out of her mind in between tickets, thinking of the nice pretty blonde that's always so nice to her for some reason. Maybe it starts with just a fantasized conversation or date, then it grew more 'fun' from there, leaning more into fantasy based on whatever caught Jinx's attention for the day.

On Lux's end it could be she started greeting Jinx just out of habit, but then with the small moments shared she began wanting to know more, but is too shy to actually do that (maybe Jinx seems too cool or something). Her daydreams start from that thought.

Could also have a point where Jinx starts receiving almost daily tickets from Lux about some form of tech problem out front, all created on Lux's end just for the chance of chatting. Like "My monitor isn't working," only she's just 'accidentally' unplugged it. Jinx is unsure if Lux is doing it on purpose for some reason or is actually that technically challenged.
