EARTH — quite a strange system, even stranger having never heard of it before. they’d won the war ; certainly palpatine couldn’t have found a way to come back again ... && again, right ?? racing thoughts shortly stopped however at the sight of the other. the FORCE could do many things, but it couldn’t bring back the dead. finn knew he was foolishly HOPEFUL, but the words came before he could stop himself. “has anyone ever told you that you resemble this one famous rebellion general ?? or —” a younger version of him. “ — sorry. guess i’m just trying to find familiar faces in everybody,” he attempted to quip. @edgcofgreat / han solo.
luna had been in the cafe not too long ago, though she hadn’t exactly ordered anything, to be truthful. it was PEACEFUL there, && luna almost had a second home in one of the booths in the back. they had left their USB there ( or at least she hoped so, luna’s things tended to be stolen too ), && of course that very thing held the essay that was due tomorrow. lost in thought, they jumped at the thankfully soft bump. “could i possibly just take a quick look — ??” words trailed off, eyes widening in recognition when she spotted george. luna let out a short, soft laugh — assuming perhaps it was a familiar prank. they paused shortly after however, for if she couldn’t remember everything perhaps it was the same for others. “yes you do, george. i think we went to school together. i’m luna — one of ginny’s friends, if that helps.”
@heartsofember requested a starter | george and luna
it had taken a while, but george was beginning to recognise that perhaps he didn’t belong in this town any more than some of the other people in it. he’d thought he came here out of choice, to get away from his parents back home, but his dreams were becoming more vivid. that fred kid kept popping up in them, looking so disappointed that his heart felt like it was breaking in two. and another face, his own, but different at the same time. a mirror image that wasn’t the same, like the missing part of his soul. it was, frankly, messing him up, and that was causing him to mess up his orders working at the grind. he’d finished another shift, heading out, when he bumped into someone as he headed towards the door. “sorry, we’re just closing-” he started, until he looked at her and frowned. “do i know you?”

Bill wasn’t sure if he should still be looking for a way for them all to go home, but until he made a final decision, he was going to keep looking. Maybe he could at least find out why they are there, if nothing else. When Bev walked in, he gave her a small smile before answering her question. “I’ve been alright. Trying to figure out what might be going on around here, but I don’t think I’m really getting anywhere, which I guess is kind of understandable.” He commented with a shrug of his shoulders. “And I think this barrier isn’t going to come down at any point.” Bill continued. “How are you?”

the perhaps, overly-sweetened, coffee helped ease perpetuating thoughts as she took a few sips. all of what bill said was RELATABLE. despite seeking the answers, all of this was as much of a mystery as it was when beverly first got here, when she first even remembered some of what was m i s s i n g . “i’m kinda starting to think whatever the reason behind all this is, that it doesn’t want us to know.” which only heightened CONCERNS of course. “i’m not sure it’s It though.” palms clammed up even at mentioning pennywise. “for even we were able to leave derry at any time.” small smile warmed features despite the topic at his question. “i’m doing okay. i think we’re all as good as we can be, right ??”
ben: yep, that's exactly why i keep you around
ben: maybe i'll dig up that denim vest i wore the day we met
ben: that would be a throwback, huh?
beverly: only maybe?🥺
beverly: but do you have a brown shirt and khaki shorts?
beverly: my hair is long enough to wear in a side pony again. MAYBE i'll wear it that way again 😊

Richie smiled up at his friend and reached up to grab the cigarette, taking a drag from his mouth before reaching back up and putting it back in hers. This was reminiscent of all the nights they’d had growing up, the ones where they couldn’t help but be together for. The days where they skipped school and smoked in the janitor’s closets, the early mornings where they would get together after a bad night and smoke until the sun came up. As much as he hated Derry, it had given him 6 wonderful things and Bev was absolutely one of them. And truth be told, he needed this here in Ivywood. Her words brought him back and he rolled his eyes. “Oh come on, Beaverly….this is serious.” Which it was. He didn’t get serious a lot, only really with three of the losers, but when he did it was usually important. “I was just thinking about it and I mean…you know we both have fucking shitty pasts and we’re here and we’re stuck and do you…I mean our parents can’t get to us here right?” he asked, curiously. “I mean we all love my dad, good ole Wentworth Tozier can come any day but I mean my mom…and your dad.” Richie could handle his mom showing up if it happened but Bev’s father was a whole different story.

“maybe i’d take you seriously if you weren’t a literal dickhead.” beaverly — unacceptable from anyone else. it was almost as if greta && henry had all made sure her reputation stuck with her no matter where she went. but, with richie it made her laugh, though with one shared look she knew... this was important. the usual flush that always hid behind cheeks quickly faded, face white at what richie suggested. her memories might be rather fucked, but one strong memory of hers was never wanting to see her father again. whatever that meant for her. it was bad enough he visited her in slumber. && richie’s mother ?? her presence bev imagined would be nothing but a setback. despite how d r y her mouth had become, she took a long, long, desperate drag from the cigarette, she was gonna need it. bev wanted to be optimistic, to say of course they wouldn’t show up but what was stopping them ?? “the idea makes you wish that border stopped people from coming in instead of leaving, doesn’t it ?? but realistically they could. the bowers gang too. all of them. derry might’ve been small but this place almost feels smaller.” beverly fixated her gaze on her hands, the soft texture of his hair as fingers continued to brush through it. “but look at all you’ve done without her, all you’ve accomplished no thanks to her. even if she can get here physically she can’t get here.” digit lightly tapped against his temple. “not anymore. && even if she tried she’d have to get through me first.” determination strengthening the tone of her voice once again, nothing but sincere.

it was weird. getting hugs from any of the losers was… it was an experience. he really hadn’t realised just how much he missed his friends over the last few years even if apparently he’d seen them until they all came back. he laughed at her comment, although it was a surprise. did… was bev affected like he was? “i’ve been good,” he replied, shaking his head as he took a step back and just took in the woman for a moment. “i mean, you know, aside from being dragged into another strange town and everything. how have you been?”
🎈❤️🔥
bev’s smile faltered at his words. “bill mentioned popping up outta nowhere ; did that happen to you too ??” it was indescribable, how it felt to remember them && to have them here with her. but she didn’t want it if it meant this place was anything like derry. ivywood once felt like the HOME she never had. but now it’d be a lie to say she wasn’t worried. regardless, a grin once again tugged at her lips. “i’ve been alright. managed to miraculously make it through school && have been trying this fashion thing out.” eyes bright, brow arched at a thought. “drinks to celebrate ?? besides i wanna hear everything. how’s the farm ?? && florida, right ?? please tell me you went somehow, someway.”

“ So you’re… still in school, then? ” He asked, honestly surprised that the conversation had lasted this long. Still, that must have been a good sign, right? “ Well, something tells me that might be better than the muggle job I’m forced to work. ” Don’t get him wrong, he enjoyed his job, but Draco Malfoy always needed something to complain about. “ I suppose I can agree with that. There are some things that don’t compare, but for the most part the food is decent. ”

“studying at the local uni. biology with a focus on animal science eventually.” animals had always been nicer than people. “too many are going extinct these days. && maybe there’s more out there, waiting to be found or that once existed.” it didn’t matter with whom she was talking to, animals && creatures had always been a passion of theirs, they could ramble for hours. muggle — it felt like a familiar word yet when trying to define it in their head, luna couldn’t. “— well ... what is it exactly ?? but i do agree. it’s always best to do something rather than nothing. keeps the mind sane && in tact.”
johanna had a few vices — caffeine happened to be one of them. the cafe was one of her frequent stops. whether it was to help cure an inevitable hangover or to simply get a bit of energy she was there. today though, it happened to be the former. an ever persistent headache that wouldn’t go away despite anything she did. stubborn, she knew it well. wrapping lithe digits around the cup, she warmed cold hands as she sipped at her black coffee. eyes scanned her phone as she attempted to plan the rest of her day, seeing what classes she was to teach at the gym, her booked appointments. overhearing the other’s words she couldn’t help but snicker, agreeing immensely. “i wouldn’t blame you if you did. they tend to be rather awful.” johanna drawled, brow raised. “then again, maybe that’s just cause they’ve never liked me. but it goes both ways.” a shrug, she peered up at the other. “long day ??”
rachel was always quick to do anything. she created her entire life to curate her being a star. there was nothing that she couldn’t do when she put her mind to it. so, showing up in ivywood not remembering everything that happened to her in lima threw her off her game for a hot second, but she was quick to jump back into action. she found a job at the local school as a music teacher and even started her own glee club. it wasn’t new directions, but it would do. rachel frequented the cafe after school a lot, trying to blow of steam from a long day of working. after grabbing her coffee, rachel sat down and let out a sigh. “if i have to hear one more high pitched squeak of a voice come out of one more kid, i might actually have to scream,” rachel huffed to whoever could be listening. soon, she closed her eyes and let out another sigh. if rachel was anything, she was dramatic. sure, she loved teaching and still being a part of a glee club, despite it not being the new directions.
kissed you when i saw you. stared deep into your eyes. i meant to say ' i love you ', but instead i said goodbye. shadows in the city ; i'm a stranger to myself, on these streets i'm someone else. shadows in the city ; like a demon in the dark come to tear us apart.
