you talk about communism but what do you think of freemarket capitalism?
I don't like pure, unfettered capitalism any more than I do absolute socalism. I prefer capitalism or more capitalist systems than more socialist systems but that doesn't mean I'm for 100% free market capitalism.
I believe regulation is needed at times. "The market" reacts, it doesn't preemptively stop things. If a kind of candy has crack in it, addicting the consumer, the market hasn't stopped a portion of people from getting addicted, it only serves to stop it AFTER the fact and by then it is too late.
It also can have an issue with monopolies. If any one company manages to get a stranglehold on any one market, be it due to expensive start up, the collapse of their major competitor or merging with their competitor, then the lack of regulation can keep that company at the top.
New start ups would be faced with near impossible odds as there'd be no protection for their product, so PepsiCoke Inc could buy out somebody trying to compete with them. Or get their recipe and sell their own 100% same product at a loss until it drives the competition out of business, since it's expensive to produce soda on a large scale.
It has issues with location. If a company is dumping waste into a river that causes a town to get sick, there's zero explicit pressure to stop that if they sell their product outside that area. If some Illinois podunk town gets wrecked will the New Yorkers consuming that product care? Isn't that exactly the issue with China now, where people are happy to buy iPhones made from (essentially) slave labor?
And then there's the issue with cartels, which capitalism encourages because non-competition and price fixing at a bottleneck overly rewards the companies engaging in that practice. Sure, it means everyone gets a slice of the pie, but they all get to get more pie than if they fought one another for customers.
A lot of libertarians believe that capitalism, unfettered and free market, could solve a lot of issues. But they operate on a similar line of thinking as communists; they assume everyone will play fair, which by human nature there will be people who don't. There are people who are going to violate the NAP (as much of a meme as it is) and put their finger on the scale.
Both extremes of capitalism/communism are utopian ideals. As always, there's a balance to be had. And that's why I don't consider myself a capital L Libertarian, I just have some libertarian ideas.
I prefer a mix. I like my country's universal healthcare, I don't mind taxes but I wish they were lower and, overall, I want to see a scaling back of government control. But I still want there to be some government presence for things like industry regulation, various protections and laws, like copyright/patent laws.
Recently Overwatch released a new character, citing complaintsof a lack of ‘body diversity’. Now, Idon’t like the character but that’s for a variety of reasons and that’ll becoming at a later date. No, what really botheredme was this argument and the implications for a common trend in representation of women in video games.
To add some context, I’m a gay woman and I want to be a game dev. I’ve loved video games and been a gamer for close to 15 years. And I really feel there are pressing issues with the arguments for ‘representation of women in video games’. I’ve made similar rants about this general topic before and you can find my most successful one here.
If you’re concerned with women, body types, representation, etc, I suggest you give me a fair shake and read all the way to the end. More under the break.

A Young!Miner Megs as a treat! Because YouTube jumped to the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack while I was working on a larger piece and was like LOOK THERE HE GOES THAT LAD IS SO PECULIAR, I WONDER IF HE’S EVEN WELL??? WITH A DREAMY FAR-OFF LOOK, AND HIS NOSE STUCK IN A BOOK—
In the distant past, when humanity was first evolving, an advanced race of aliens visited Earth and studied humanity. This race discovered something fascinating within a fraction of humanity’s genetic code: The Metagene. The Metagene allowed humanity, when under great stress, to develop superhuman abilities to survive. It was rare, but those with it could do great things. The aliens took some of them, and launched a breeding program to refine this gene. Over successive generations, the Inhumans were created, whose Metagene could be consistently triggered with the Terrigen mists, and only the Terrigen Mists.
As Human civilization progress, the Metagene experienced a mutation. This mutation lowered the threshold of trauma needed for the Metagene to trigger until the point that mundane puberty was sufficient to activate it. This mutated gene was dubbed the X-Gene. The mutants who possessed the X-Gene suffered under severe discrimination for many years, but as time passed, they grew to be the majority of the population. Over the years, there have been many names for these powers and their users. Mutants, Evos. Nexts, etc. By the era of All Might, the popular vernacular was “Quirk”.
Some attempted to manually trigger the Metagene. During World War II, a scientist by name of Abraham Erskine developed a serum that, alongside a specific radiological treatment, could transform even a sickly man into a man at the peak of human ability, in all fields the best a human could be without being outright Superhuman. Notably, the process performed by Project Rebirth worked on people who lacked a Metagene. This Project Rebirth produced Captain America, but shortly after his creation, Erskine was assassinated by a nazi scientist, and his notes were stolen. However, while his notes contained the formula for the Super Soldier Serum, it did not contain anything about the radiological treatment, and thus it was impossible to replicate Captain America. They didn’t stop trying however. With their continued research, they uncovered the Metagene, and switched focus from replicating the Super Soldier serum, to improving it. Making a serum capable of triggering the Metagene. They did not succeed at this during the war, however after it ended, the scientists in charge of the project were given pardons as part of project paper clip. This allowed Compound V to be developed, a substance that could grant Superpowers. The catch was that it had to be administered during Childhood, as adults would be driven mad by it.
Additionally, a number of humans were secretly given something called a Corona Pollentia by a predatory interstellar entity, which connects them to continent sized shards. Whose with Corona Pollentia are capable of undergoing trigger events, and developing Superpowers. These trigger events are often Traumatic, and afterwards the Shards subtly poke their bears into conflict, in order to gather data for the Entities. Those with activated Corona Pollentia are known as Parahumans. And due to human ignorance of their origin, they severely complicate research into superpowers. And most in the Public aren’t really aware of the difference between Metahumans and Parahumans

Antis on tumblr are so cringey with their hatred of characters mixed with performative activism, it is all like:
"Lol you like this BLAND!! Pallle ass wHiiite character" and then they simply stan a different white character themselves.
Or the typical:
"I headcanon everyone in this show as lgbtq except this one character I hate, they are straight because I personally headcanon them as such and it totally gives me a suuper valid motive to hate them for some woke reason" or worse, they headcanon the characters they dislike as homophobic or racist with no canon evidence.
If they lack imagination, antis will just give the character they hate a different nickname based on a distortion of their real name, you know, like children in kindergarden.
I am not even against essays explaining why people hate (Or love) certain characters, I am all for the drama as long as there are actual arguments based on canon and not petty insults.
Is maccadam an alchohol supplier for megatron's bar?
Nope! I think I’ll have Maccadam’s be the name of the diner Optimus and Bulkhead work at (and previously Bee)
I think I’ll have the names of ships/certain tf hubs and what not be the names of bars/clubs idk, keeping it constant
like the club Nemesis, and a lowly bar Death’s Head, The Garrison as another bar—but also a certain underground fight club and dark trading ring
Locations and such are still a wip!! But hmmm the EPF headquarters absolutely has been nicknamed the Steelhaven (tunnels and tunnels of grimey barred confines masked by a shiny exterior would be responsible for that) and I think I’ll have the entire complex that Bulk, Bee, Prowl, Optimus—and Ratchet with his tiny clinic at street level— be dubbed the Ark as a inside joke maybe simply because the building is filled with misfits of all kinds :D
Oof, that’s mistake #1. Never underestimate Megs even if he’s Mini.
Has Grimlock ever gotten in a fight with Megatron?
Yes. It didn’t end well for him (He underestimated Megs since Megs is smaller than him. He had to tag OP in).
He’s still quite sore about it.
During his time working at the Science Patrol, Dr. Michiyuki Ashihara discovered an ancient Super computer on the moon, known as the Moon Cell. Thanks to his prior research, he was able to reactivate it. Thanks to the special properties of the Archetype molecule it was able to perform computing power far beyond the level of any human made computer. It achieved this by using the Archetype to receive Data from the Future. However, when using this computer, Ashihara began receiving errors, which indicated that at some point in the future a cataclysm would occur, potentially as a result of the Ashihara’s own research. Not wanting his research to be stopped, but knowing that the Science Patrol would do so when they discovered the situation, Ashihara began taking steps to ensure that it would continue after he had to abandon the Science Patrol.
