In the comics, Fionna and Cake thought that Gumball and Marshall were going to come out as a couple.

I wonder how they acted around each other to think they were a couple before they even started dating...

I mean, think of this: You have two friends who are older than your entire family combined who seem to have known each other for much longer than you have known them, spent/still seem to spend a lot of time together, and one of them even uses nicknames to refer to the other... It would be hard not to think they have something going on 👁️

They're always together, you can just sense that they had some history by the way they interact. They put in so much energy when they argue too, only for them to turn around and start discussing something more personal, something you have 0 context for but you can just feel that they have a lot of feelings about it. Fionna and Cake must be so used to seeing them behave like this that when they decide to come clean, their minds automatically go to whatever relationship they have lmfao

My friend and I were looking at BKT posts and at one point they just straight up went "If the Council knew what slurs were they would call Ran all of them" I fucking WHEEZED

At least not yet until season 2 releases and I put more thought into them :'P

I'll give you three short little stories, totally not because I lack the creativity for this-

1- Before they started dating, they were in a "inseparable friends who occasionally did something romantic without thinking" phase. One night, they got tipsy at a royal party and were particularly clingy, Marshall Lee turned to him and straight up asked: “Don't you want to be my boyfriend or something?”

He asked this in a (half) joking tone at the time, Gumball just laughed and said “I'll think about it” as a response. The next morning, Marshall, now sober, was a little shy around Gumball all day.

2- Gumball created two types of candy bats while thinking about Marshall Lee, red jelly and marshmallow, and they used to call them "our children" for some time. The candy bats can still be found in dark places around the Candy Kingdom.

3- Marshall Lee once shapeshifted into a monster and started wreaking havoc on the Candy Kingdom just for Gumball to struggle trying to capture him and then complain about it endlessly to Marshall Lee once he was back in the castle, wearing his usual pretty boy form and pretending nothing happened. Gumball was pretty pissed at him when he found out that this was all just a big prank, while Marshall Lee was having the laugh of his life.

Headcanons about Flame Prince × Fionna?

(they are so cute!!)

Surprisingly I don't have as many headcanons about them compared to my other hc lists uhhhhhhhhhhhhh but I doodled a little something of them since it's been a while. I still like them, I swear 🥹

1- Flame Prince fell first, Fionna had a mental dilemma for a while because they're just friends… but he's cute… but he's literally a fire hazard and that would make things complicated… but she likes his attention/attempts of affection… but this is potentially dangerous… BUT DANGER IS HER MIDDLE NA-

2- They learn about that flame shield spell and Flame Prince always makes a point of kissing her somewhere when he's the one casting it. Fionna was flustered at first, now she gets all giddy and always expects him to do it.

3- Both Fionna and FP feel their fair share of jealousy buuuuuut I think Flame Prince is more prone to it, imagine your girl being able to greet and hug all her friends but you, and every time she does, it causes her a lot of pain. It messes with his self-esteem, and he can get distant if he feels too hopeless about their relationship.

4- Fionna's favorite part of him are his pointy ears. She likes to pet them whenever she can and keeps staring at them just to see them move, one little ear flick and she's already smiling like an idiot. She thinks they're really cute. Flame Prince also has a thing with her ears but it's the bunny ears of her hat, he probably thought she wasn't human the first time they met and that she had actual bunny ears under her hat. She doesn't (sadly), but that's not stopping him from calling her "bunny" from time to time.

5- They sometimes go on adventures together. At first Fionna was hesitant because she wouldn't be able to pull FP out of danger with her hands alone, and she could also get turned into roast if he got carried away with his powers, but she feels safer inviting him to tag along after a while, if she thinks that he'd fit the task.

6- Flame Prince keeps touching her metal leg, because it's the only part of her that's considerably fire-resistant (and Fionna-resistant in general). He just rests his hand there until he has to pull away because the metal started to feel too hot on her skin. Neither of these dorks paid attention to Gumball's science classes.

7- They have many pairs of fire-proof gloves just so they can hold hands and do stuff together. (Gumball may or may not be involved with creating these gloves because then he gets to test which materials are more efficient, just in case)
