“Sorry I’m a little late! Was just finishing up some paperwork!” you hear Bucky call out from the front door. He comes rushing into the kitchen with a huff and freezes when he sees someone sitting beside Becca. But not just a someone, a boy, “Who are you?”

The boy gives Bucky a polite smile, “Hi, sir, I’m Jacob. I’m Becca’s partner for a project we’re working on in Film class.” 

Bucky narrows his eyes as the boy and slowly makes his way to the empty seat waiting for him, “Partner, huh? That’s all? You’re just project partners?”

“Daaad!” Becca whines, not wanting her to start.

“Bucky,” you give him a pointed glare and he just shrugs it off.

“So, Jacob, have you ever done drugs?”

“What?”

“DAD!”

“JAMES!” 

You and Becca cry out and Jacob suddenly looks intimated. 

Bucky continues to shrug off your cries, “Ever stolen anything? Ever participate in underage drinking? I gotta know that my daughter is hanging out with the right people.”

Becca growns, burying her head into her hands, “Mom! Stop him!”

You sighed and gave Bucky a look, “Bucky, Jacob is Becca’s friend and our guest for tonight. Not a suspect. Enough with the interrogation.”

“Fine,” he mumbled before digging into his food. While everyone else went back to eating, Bucky mouthed to Jacob, “I’m watching you.”

“Alright, you’re ready man, go get your girl”.

After the incident in the coffee shop, Bucky called you later that day and everything just clicked. You talked for almost two hours the first day. You talked several times over the next two weeks whenever he had free time in between missions. He was coming back home today. And he was going to take you out.

You already felt like you knew everything about him. Which is why you were perplexed by what happened next.

 You were ready for your date, choosing a cute rose gold dress that complimented your skin perfectly, and matched your heels. You put the final touches on your make up and hair. You were rehearsing different date scenarios in your head, when you heard the doorbell ring. Looking in the mirror, you point at your reflection,“Do not spill anything else on this man, you got it”. Taking one last look, you open the door and see him.

It’s Bucky, but his hair is slicked back and shiny, he has on skinny jeans and a very tight black t-shirt. He’s leaning against your porch railing, when he sees you, he nods and says “sup”.

You pause before responding. “Hello, Bucky”

“You look fierce, Y/N” he smiles.

“umm, thank you” you reply slowly.

You lock your door and as you walk to his car, he tucks your arm into his. He opens your door before jogging around, his movements limited by the jeans, causing you to giggle.

It’s a comfortable silence between the two of you during the drive. Once you arrive at restaurant, he turns to you, “so this restaurant is lit” he says excitedly

You laugh, “that nice, I think”

“Yeah, the tea is that they have great pasta”

You tilt your head, “the tea?”

He nods confidently, “yeah”.

He leads you into the restaurant, holding your chair out for you. You talk about your childhood and career plans, he tells about his latest missions.  The conversation flows effortlessly until,

“Bucky, the work you’re doing is amazing” you state, “in fact I think that you’re incredible”

He blushes, leaning over the table to take your hand, he looks you in the eye, “And I think that you’re a goat”

“What”

“A goat, that’s you” he says beaming at you.

You stare at him for a minute.

You sigh, “Uh, Bucky who told you to dress and act like this” gesturing towards him with your free hand.

‘This isn’t right, is it”, he replies biting his lip.

You shake your head. ‘Who was it,  Bucky?”

He hesitates, cringing as he replies, “Sam, he’s right over there”

You turn to see Sam sitting two tables behind you, hiding behind a menu.

“Bucky, I will be right back”.

You march over to Sam, who’s laughing now. You pluck the menu from his hands, “What did you do?”.

“I was just trying to help” he shrugs.

“Help, huh”

You see your waiter passing by and get his attention, “Hey we’re about to leave, but Sam here has agreed to pay our bill, thank you so much Sam” you smile sweetly.

As you head back, you can see Bucky shifting in his chair, trying to pull his jeans away from his crotch. You shake your head and try to not laugh. “Bucky, are you comfortable, at all?”

“No”

“Wanna go back to your place so that you can change”

“Yes”

As he drives you to his apartment, he looks worried. You place a hand on his arm, “What’s wrong?”

“Did I embarrass you tonight?” he says softly.  

“Not at all, Bucky”, you reply “I can say without a doubt, this has been the best first date that I have ever had”.

At his place he changes into his typical cargo pant and a t-shirt that actually fits. He must have washed his hair because its wet but its an improvement over whatever he was trying to do before.

You order a pizza as he chooses a movie, you lay your head on his shoulder when he sits down, getting comfortable, waiting for the movie to start.

His phone buzzes, he looks at the message, confused,

“Hey Y/N, what’s Netflix and Chill?”.
