Cannon Street railway station circa 1886. The gentleman on the left appears to have a bird in a cage, I wonder what the story is there.
The London Women's Hospital Soho circa 1912.
The Women's Hospital was opened in 1842 but moved to Soho Square in 1852. Over the following years as adjacent properties become available the hospital expanded. Numbers 3 and 4 Frith Street and a new stuccoed facade where added from 1909, this photograph was taken on completion of those works. The hospital catered solely for women with a mainly female staff. The women's hospital closed in 1988.
