I know I'm missing so many, and i know some of these examples don't count as much because they're from live albums, but those shows were so important to the people there and I'm happy that the audio was preserved in a way where they're still being talked about so many years later.

one thing i never get tired of in songs is when they include some sounds from the recording booth like a laugh at the end, a ‘was that good?’ or like, the sounds of the guitar being put down, a chair creaking. it’s nice how music can be used as an escape but also something that ties you right back down to earth. it will affect you so deeply & then ur like wow… you just played that. it’s grounding & magical & just one of my fave things ever!

one of the reasons ajj is superior is that no other band seems to convey the experience of the cognitive dissonance of trying to live as a ‘good person’ and act according to morals in the first world and mitigate the harm and damage you inflict upon countless others simply by virtue of your day-to-day activities as well as they do. it’s a constant undercurrent to almost every one of their songs and they have mastered that particular conundrum so expertly
