Snow: I Have No Friends.

Snow: I have no friends.

Ronan: Then what am I to you?

Snow: A headache.

Iris: In order be a good Mentor, you should realize how many skeletons you have in your closet. So you would not let your Victor repeat the action.

Adessa: Did you mean it literally or figuratively?

Iris: Figuratively, of course.

Adessa:

Iris, sighs: What have you done again?

Victors & Arenas

So, I thought it would be nice to write about the Victor's Arena's for fun and, you know, pain to my favourites. I did not wrote everyone in detail since some of them were already said, though I tried to extend as much as I could.

All the character rights go to @lorata, I am only responsible for the traumas I caused for her Victors.

Enough rambling, here it is:

Ronan (16th Games)

A desert or somewhere with a lack of water. His year definitely was a flashback of war and Dark Days and really, really horrible. He was like a squeezed balloon in the end, all the aggression, misery, bloodlust gone and just wanted to get out and...just exist.

Caius (17th Games)

An airship because in my headcanon, Caius admired when his parents taking him away with them with a plane trip which was about a family vacation (though he did not knew it was for escaping from war) and wanted to be a pilot. In a modern world, he would have, but it's Panem so he will get one melancholy Arena which brings painful, forgotten memories.

Iris (20th Games)

I wrote about it here but I'll quickly summarise that without spoiling much. Her Arena was an ocean with ice sheets on it and most of the tributes either got hypothermia or a monster coming after them if they are alone. After winning her Arena, Iris got half deaf and she had a very upsetting things happened to her constantly.

Luna (27th Games)

Mental asylum because why not? My version of Luna is quite Enobaria-like (especially about Iris) and her parents were not the best which I wrote about it. In her Arena, the tributes were placed in a room (three separate rooms with only one weapon in them) which their characteristics were match just to cause a lot more psychological pain since they would recall their past AND a sign to districts that Snow knows everything, even their favourite food.

Adessa (29th Games)

Abandoned laboratory for irony. Obviously she was marvelled about how interesting was it and for a moment she thought killing in here was a waste -only for a moment, dear- but then with the first blood she spilled, she easily got into the game. Her dissecting a tribute in the end was her plan and she got the gadgets for that- a win-win for her. Her Arena would be one of the most interesting for Two's since the Abbot's (Adessa's family, which I also created and she is/was a part of them so ~instant fame.

Hera (31st Games)

An aquarium. That year was definitely in favour of Four but she is Callista the Butcher's future mentor, she won't go down that quick. She stayed quiet and hid away from the tributes, made them believe she was drowned before last 5 days. She killed the last tribute with stabbing them with the broken glass of the aquarium, strike after strike, until they were a bloody mess. Needles to say she got her demons out of her.

Odin (32nd Games)

His was a normal, indoor one -as normal as Panem can get- and was all about staying alive and defeat the other tributes, or that's what they thought. The Arena was getting smaller at each day and triggered a lot of claustrophobia, even from the ones who did not have that. In the end he got a crown and a lost eyeball.

Callista (41st Games)

Calli's games were all about sex and blood and torture so I thought a brothel with a lot of sex-toys-turned-into-weapons would be great for her. In her Arena, she was not quick, obviously, and had the least kill count on the first day- it got better (worse for others) after that. She tried to be calm about her killings on the first day -just a stab in the heart, guts, or wherever the fuck she wanted, depends on her mood- but then a feeling came over her and she smeared innards into snow and make a pretty picture of it AND made sure no one attacked her during it.

Nero (42nd Games)

His games were the ones with no weapons so an apocalypse Arena for our Nero. There were loads of volcanoes, natural disasters at best and not enough food. From the Hunger Games canon, the cannibal tribute Titus (?) would exists in this Arena and became one of Nero's victims, thankfully. Though he did not like what he did, he was in relief that it all end and he will get love and hugs- oh. (Unless it turns into my Rock, Misery and Hugs which Adessa and Nero hugged for five times)

Brutus (49th Games)

Like Odin's, it was pretty simple and was described in To Love a Beast, so I will take that and add a memory erasing bomb which affected him partially- he heard voices he did not recognise and stuff like that.

Emory (52nd Games)

Her Arena was indoors and was in favour for outer districts so I thought it might be a house full of riddles and logical thinking must be required. The weapons were hidden in tricky places so most of the tributes choked one another or pressed on their throats. There were no windows so Emory's and tribute's understanding of time were limited.

Lyme (55th Games)

A survival Arena, nothing much to be done for others when Careers were all active and had Lyme as their leader. She was stealthy enough to sneak out from their tent and find undiscovered weapons and use them against the Pack in the end.

Artemisia (57th Games)

An Arena so much like Centre, it raised a flame of cockiness and the strong belief that she will win- or this would be the scenario if Six kept it in his pants but oh well, Misha is a though nut to crack weaklings.

Devon (60th Games)

A factory with lots of deadly machines to fight with. No weapons but if you're smart enough, you can create one as the mindset. Alas, he could not because there wasn't enough wood so he kissed people and slit their throats with a nail clipper.

Enobaria (62nd Games)

A jungle full of mysteries and poison and full of tactics. Bari was not the flashiest one in her games and most assumed she would die, until she proved herself with killing 5 tributes in Bloodbath. In her final fight, she was weaponless -weak- and her instincts got over and she bared her teeth and teared the boy's throat apart.

Claudius (67th Games)

All kids except for Careers as we know and I pretty much liked it so I do not have much to add except for some kids cuddling each other when they were sticky with blood.

Petra (72nd Games)

An apartment with three floors and wicked weapons. Petra was not a fool to not to notice the ends of her signature weapon was poisonous so she choose to use a weapon she had not excel with- which caused her trainers smack their foreheads but she got survived in the end, and it's all that matters.

So I had decided to rewrite bb!Lyme/Adessa interaction. The previous one I wrote is here if you're interested.

Nero won’t get away with this, she had promised to herself. There was no way to forgive her mentor who had decided to make her meet with a woman who probably would skin her out and eat her corpse with absolute satisfaction, not to mention even she wouldn't be a breakfast for Adessa.

Maybe it’s Lyme who is thinking so much -who is impulsively angry over everything and everyone, oh well- but standing there on the probably the most expensive oak possible, proved that she definitely was right about to freak out and prefer to have a second Arena rather than facing this.

She actually doesn’t because new Victors simply doesn’t wish that but that’s beside the point and surely waste of time because the door knob slowly moved with the weight pressured by the other side like stabbing a corpse in the guts  and finally the door opened and revealed a cool-faced-but–annoyed-in-the-details older woman which even the bravest people wouldn’t want to face because who wants to die as a scientific experiment?

(Though Snow knows there are actual people who want to experience that.)

“You’re late.” says Adessa, so neutral that it might have killed a Capitollian paparazzi who probably drinks gossip blood instead of wine.

Funny thing is Lyme could answer anything about how to murder a tribute, or how to clench your jaw so hard that it breaks another person’s bone but not any kind of decent quetion about one’s horrible timing.

The elite etiquette in a pantsuit clears her throat and it clear as a day Lyme failed her village manner test which Adessa probably, no, unquestionably, taking charge of; what would you expect from a woman who dissected a tribute but didn’t even drink a single drop of blood. And after all of this chaos of thoughts there was only a word one could say: “Sorry.”

Adessa nods, not what she expected but a Victor’s life wouldn’t be a Victor’s life if everything went as predicted. “No worries, child, come inside.” Lyme is everything but a child but try telling that to a woman who still is remarkably terrifying to this day.

Inside of the house was surprisingly clean from the scent of, well, everything which is relieving since memory of Artificial Hell -the Arena- carved its mark to her brain and threatened to burst whatever sanity she had left.

Adessa gestured to her cloak and said it’s better to take it off and yes, the real world.

“I, erm, didn’t bring any gifts to you.” Lyme said out of the blue, surely people would bring something small to the host, especially if they are twenty six Arenas older than you.

“It’s the thought that it counts,” Adessa says and Lyme tries so hard not to look at her rudely because of their height difference -if Lyme was a mountain, Adessa would be a meadow-  and, honestly, her neck hurts. The feeling must be mutual. “Though, I do not think you would find something my taste before meeting me either.”

Right.

 “Okay…” the silence between them was awkward -how do you even talk to other murderers if you don’t have your mentor with you?- and if it was not Adessa’s smoothness about leading her to a presumably a dining room, then Lyme would spend the rest of her afternoon there instead of taking a pretend nap.

It did not take long for her to see a neatly designed table with a bunch of porcelain cups and bright looking napkins tucked under a pair of saucers.  “I doubt you know how important it is to maintain your aura while you eat something.”

“I believe I don’t.”

“Well, everybody learns at their own pace, my dear and obviously I shall help you.”

~~~
An hour or so later, Lyme had a realization of the century that she does not have a single fucking talent about the fucking table manners and such, or she does but to her, it feels as weird as bows, like, why do that when you can do whatever the flying thing you want?
She tripped when she was carrying a tray and remembered the damn balance but forgot the focus; tea splashed across the floor like a lake with a really wrong colour and the cup’s core is rocks for it which is as metaphorical as she can get about the situation.
“Ah, careful. Someone will clean it, but you’re almost there.”
Lyme almost didn’t hear Adessa, who apparently didn’t catch the younger Victor’s very interested gaze at the sharpness of the glass shards, so sparkly and white that the blood would look marvelous on it. Her blood is strangely dark, as dark as the lipstick Callista usually wears in her interviews, and it’s a shame that it will be stuck in Lyme’s body forever and no one else would see it like the enraged monster inside her.
Adessa snaps her fingers in front of her. “Now, be a dear and pour me tea without spilling a drop.” She misses Nero and his Neroness.
(But he won’t know about that.)
6. She has a teeth protector which she use it for not to tear apart her inner cheeks. One time, Lyme wanted to search her room to prove Nero that she is not the better Victor. She accidentally touched the protector which still had Enobaria's saliva on it. Poor Lyme is still traumatized because of it.
7. Her favourite activity besides standing in the corner and suddenly jump on a person, is decorating Devon's belongings with drawing designs on them. He better finds this cute.
8. She does not understand Misha's admiration towards Callista, mainly because Calli knows how to make her behave and she does not like that. And how is Misha nice and she is not!? (Brutus agrees with this.)
9. If she was interested in chess or science, she might have get on well with Adessa. Since, you know, they both teared a person apart and tend to not socialize much.
10. She absolutely hates when people mocks her as a vampire to get on her nerves, which they succeed in the end; it makes her more angry.
( Universe B )
Enobaria headcanons part 2:
1. She likes to collect these Victorian style china dolls; Nero often brings some back from the Capitol for her when he goes to vist his cougars.
2. She likes to wear black chokers around her neck and sometimes puts her in to two ponytails each with a black ribbon.
3. She has a handmade tree house deep in the woods which she built in her favourite tree which is a huge, old oak tree.
4. Her public talent is painting and each of her paintings have a story behind it.
5. She likes the tv show ' The road runner show' by Warner Brothers studio. She finds it hilarious and loves how the coyote's plans are constantly foiled by the road runner.
Summary: From acting to murder, Callista of Two could do anything to perplex her audience. Apparently, meeting with a baby Victor is an exception.
Luna: What's that?
Odin: Adessa just gave me a get well soon card.
Luna: Ah, that's sweet of her.
Odin: I'm not sick, she just thinks I can do better when it comes to politics.
