Do you remember the saying “Trust your gut”?

Sure, you had no problems trusting your gut feeling before, but now you were having a hard time doing that now. How could you?

You loved Steve without a doubt, you’ve poured all the love you had for this man, you think, ever since the first time the two of you met at your job at Scoops Ahoy, which led to discovering a secret base and even getting drugged with Steve. That whole ordeal led the two of you even closer, and before the two of you could realize, you had fallen for each other.

Approximately a year into the relationship, that’s when things started going south as problems with the Upside Down emerged again, finding yourselves with the group of kids who were more knowledgeable about this stuff rather than anyone. And that’s when Steve started seeing Nancy again.

Trust your gut, right? It was more like; how could you not trust your gut when your boyfriend still looks at her like a lovesick puppy?

You could see it, hell everyone must’ve also seen it in a way, even in the Upside Down in Eddie’s trailer when Vecna was grabbing ahold of Nancy, as her eyes rolled almost to the back of her head Steve was there, although you already left the gate and were in the original Hawkins, you could see through the gate. You could see through how Steve panicked, cupping her cheek, and shouting out her name, then shaking her shoulders.

Then the panic came in when Nancy didn’t respond. You also didn’t realize how long you had been biting your lip in anxiety as everyone stared through the gate.

That’s when you heard a loud gasp as Nancy came back, her body feeling faint as she almost fell to the ground, but thanks to Steve, he catches her, wrapping his arms around her. His hand on the back of her neck for support, slowly going over to her cheek as he whispers, “It’s okay, I’m right here.” Nancy looks at him, catching her breath. “I’m right here.”

That was the last thing you heard before you couldn’t take it anymore, you were heading out of Eddie’s trailer, slamming the door, making Eddie glance and look for you.

being a double major is rather difficult..medical major hard enough understandable — but a fashion major as well? that’s a whole different level. yn enjoyed both and decided ‘hey how about we double major it can’t be that hard,’ but now she is stuck in her room 5 out of 7 days of the week designing clothing and studying the human body; the do’s and the do not’s.

yn’s diet consisted of three things. coffee, anything with rice, and chocolate cracker snacks. she loves instant ramen but she wouldn’t want to burn herself out of it. stress was a major factor in those 2am breakdowns. stress always crept behind the back of yn; like a stupid background character who tries to steal the spotlight.

yn was guilty of taking her stressed anger out on mira — although mira knew she didn’t mean the stuff it truly did hurt her sometimes hearing those words come out her mouth. mira truly did have a strong friendship with chishiya and ann.

mira was always honest with chishiya and ann telling them the things yn has said due to her being stressed; and to what surprise chishiya would always be a little shit to yn the next day. as much as yn wanted to deny it—chishiya was the main reason yn would always keep apologizing to mira profusely. yn didn’t want to lose mira.

“chishiyaaa” mira dramatically sighed looking at the blanked expression chishiya whom was reading a romance manga. chishiya let an audible ‘hm’ from his mouth. the rooftops breeze made his hair sway ever so slightly in the wind.

mira opened her mouth to say something but ended up forming her tinted red lips in a thin line. there was a deafening silence with a mix noise of students talking from the classrooms and the sound of the softly breezed wind. “what is it mira?” chishiya placed a bookmark on the page closing it moving his attention to the black haired girl.

“i was going to ask if you wanted to get some strawberry milk tea” mira stretched her arms out before standing up to stretch her fallen asleep legs. “i mean sure” chishiya stared at her putting his book in his bag before slinging it onto his body. mira smirked knowing he meant yes; she grabbed his hand and lead him to the nearest vending machines.

mira was the school crush. her beauty, the way she presented herself, her confidence and her brains/smartness. she was the total “package”. and it wasn’t just a one sided it was from both the girls and the boys. she would get constant love letters and proposals but it would always be turned down simple’s due to the fact—she was never interested.

but people being people always mistaken this for her dating chishiya which is..absolutely wrong. mira had zero interest in chishiya. while as for chishiya on the other hand, he definitely had girls fawning to the ground for him. many asked to date him but it would always be a simple “no.”

so seeing mira holding chishiya’s hand leading him to the nearest vending station to get a strawberry flavored milk tea was definitely a sight to see in the hallways. boys wished they were chishiya while girls wished they were mira. some even wished they were both. chishiya wasn’t a fan of PDA but this was the bare minimum—plus they were only best friends.

mira found the vending machine that had various flavors of milk teas. she ordered herself a almond milk tea and a strawberry milk tea. as mira bent down to get the drinks chishiya stepped behind her covering her shorts. shorts not not he didn’t want people to see under her skirt. chishiya looked around scratching his eyebrow. mira grabbed the drinks handing the strawberry one to chishiya.

chishiya opened the bottle taking a sip of it, a soft small smile barely visible formed his lips. mira took a few sips out of her bottle sighing in satisfaction. “want to ditch?” mira offered him taking another sip of her drink. chishiya nodded.

“cafe?” mira questioned knowing the answer will always be yes. chishiya didn’t say anything so mira took that as a yes. mira followed in suit next to him to their favorite cafe to study at.

“heiya!! usagi!! KUINAA” yn shook all of them softly to get their attention. “YNN” kuina shook yn back giving the same energy earning a little giggle from the girls. “what’s up?” usagi questioned looking at yn.

“we should go to the cafe like right now, im craving a custard pudding.” yn exclaimed gripping onto heiya and dramatically fainting. “i would be down but you have a class next period..” usagi crossed her arms, heiya nodded her head in agreement.

yn grumbled at the reminder she has a class, kuina sighed grabbing yn’s hand throwing on her bag. “fuck that class lets just go to the cafe, it’s not that far from here” kuina smiled proudly dragging yn with her with a giggly heiya following behind them and a slightly upset usagi following behind them.

“don’t worry usagiiii” heiya linked arms with usagi catching up to kuina and yn, “you have to break the rules at least once” heiya smiled at usagi. usagi sighed as a smile broke onto her lips. “you’re right.”

the walk to the cafe was short but it was very lovely to say the least. they found a table near the windows. they put their school bags on the table as they went to go order their deserts or drinks. yn got a carmel pudding, heiya got kinako dango, usagi got a crepe, and kuina got herself an iced coffee + ichigo daifuku.

it was a very peaceful moment, the girls were all busy doing their own thing while yn finished hee sketch for her new fashion piece for her project. heiya looked up for a moment, mouth agaped “oh look it’s mira and chishiya!” heiya waved to them.

mira smiled and walked over to them while chishiya kept his hands in his pocket walking ever so calmly to them. yn looked up locking eyes with chishiya rolling her eyes.

“nice to see you too” chishiya flatly said breaking eye contact to look at the menu. “what are you doing here?” yn grumbled taking another bite of her carmel pudding. chishiya shrugged, “felt like going to a cafe,” he pulled out his phone to take a picture of the menu “why? am i not allowed to be here either?” he snarked sarcastically.

“well its kinda starker-ish that you are here as well” yn smiled pettily. chishiya inhaled sharply looking back at yn. “i guess i am a stalker then” a calm yet snark liked tone laced his words. he looked at the drawing you made withe the clothes and the overall body, he nodded slightly lips formed in a thin line.

“maybe if you put the same effort for medical just like you do for those drawings you can beat me.” a smirk glazed his lips, yn scoffed gripping onto her skirt. “are you calling me stupid?” a wave of anger and disgust laced hee voice. “basically yeah.” chishiya looked down to her leaning against her chair.

yn opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out of it. it dryer than the Sahara desert; chishiya who was looking at the menu through his phone let out a small chuckle. “cat got your tongue? how miserable.” he eyed you looking back at his phone.

no words can explain how bad yn fumed. she had so much to say to his face yet none of it came out; she wasn’t scared, she wasn’t in love, she was simply lost in words. she knew she was holding herself back in studies but at times she wished she could just tape his mouth.

he was never one to talk so much so how come when it’s with you, he knows all the buttons to push you. chishiya decided on what he was going to get. he stood up properly putting his phone and hands in his pocket; “you know for being my academic rival, it’s fun to push your buttons” chishiya’s smirk widened. he waited for yn to say something but she continued to grip onto her skirt chewing the inside of her mouth causing it to bruise.

“cat got your tongue again? sad.” he simply shrugged walking to the line to order, while mira was still occupied talking to the girls. yn watched every single movement of chishiya’s. from the minute ordered to the minute he sat down. chishiya noticed her staring taking out his hand to wave at her.

yn flipped him off going back to her drawings ignoring mira and the other girls. yn calmed herself down knowing he was trying to get under her skin. taking another bite of her pudding lightened her mood.

after a few more conversations between mira and the girls, mira finally left to go to chishiya who just got his strawberry shortcake. “uh excuse me? this is for you. a carmel iced coffee” a waiter handed to yn. “oh uh i never ordered this.” yn smiled at the young waiter, “this is from someone with light blonde-ish white hair.” the waiter looked around to find hin but couldnt; the waiter bowed and left.

yn sharply inhaled knowing who it was from, feeling the the side, it had a sticky note saying “you might need this if you want to beat me in the test <3” yn’s face twitched crumbling up the note. “that mf.” yn said a little too loudly getting the girls attention.

ofc it was chishiya. it was always him; he was the cat who got your tongue. and she loathed it.
